Traded twice before his 21st birthday, Sanderson thrived at his third club Geelong playing 199 games and winning the best and fairest in 2001. After a successful stint as a Cats assistant, Sanderson became Adelaide coach in 2012 leading the Crows into a preliminary final in his first year. 2 years later he was sacked despite having 2 years left on his contract. He would later return to Collingwood as an assistant coach under best mate Nathan Buckley

    Julian de Stoop speaks to a man that had one of modern footy's most remarkable journeys, James Podsiadly. Initially drafted as rookie by Essendon in 1999, the key forward has to wait until 2010 at 28 years of age to make his AFL debut for Geelong. In between he was rejected by numerous AFL clubs and dominated for Werribee in the VFL. Podsiadly's fairytale was complete when he was part of Geelong's 2011 premiership side. The J-Pod, as he was known moved to Adelaide in 2014 before retiring at the end of 2015.

A talented footballer and basketballer, Joyce knocked back a chance to play with North Melbourne in the VFL to pursue his basketball career. After 12 years as player in the NBL, Joyce went on to coach more than 400 games in the league - the highlight being leading the Hawks to their one and only NBL championship to date in 2001. He has also been coach of the Opals and assistant coach for the Boomers. He's now plying his trade in Taiwan

Stokes played in premierships in 2007 and 2011, a losing Grand Final in 2008 and missed on Geelong's 2009 premiership through injury. Williams played just 1 finals in 10 seasons at Collingwood before moving to Sydney in 2001. He had to wait until his 15th season to finally play in a premiership in 2005
