We begin our summer series Songs For the Road with Psalm 120—the first of the Psalms of Ascent. This raw, honest song reminds us that the road of discipleship doesn't always start with joy; sometimes it begins in distress. Pastor Matt unpacks this pilgrim prayer that cries out for justice and longs for home. And in that place of desperation, the good news rings true: God answers. He hears us, He moves toward us, and His answer—then and now—is Jesus. For more information about Integrity Church, visit our website, http://liveintegritychurch.org Connect with us on social media throughout the week to stay up to date on events and things happening at Integrity! What if the key to your freedom lies in letting go of what someone else did to you? Deep within us all are wounds waiting to be healed – perhaps from a parent who abandoned us, a friend who betrayed us, or even expectations of God that went unfulfilled. These hurts can silently poison our relationships, our joy, and our spiritual growth when left unaddressed. In this vulnerable conversation between Elizabeth and Kimberly, we unpack the transformative power of forgiveness – not as a quick fix, but as a courageous journey toward wholeness. "Forgiveness is more about freeing your own heart than changing someone else's behavior," we discover, as we navigate the complex terrain of letting go while still maintaining healthy boundaries. We confront challenging questions: How do you forgive someone who's no longer living? What does it mean to forgive God himself? And what if you've been the one causing harm?Your freedom awaits – not in changing what happened, but in changing how it holds you captive. Join us for this life-giving conversation about coming home to the safety of the Father's heart through the challenging but liberating path of forgiveness.

Mohamed Bourouissa is an Algerian-born French artist (b. 1978) who lives and works in Paris. Mohamed's practice moves between photography, video, sculpture, and installation, often blurring the lines between these mediums. His work explores social issues, power dynamics, and the representation of marginalized communities. He often engages with or embeds himself into specific communities for extended periods, spending significant time with individuals and groups to understand their experiences and perspectives before then creating collaborative works that challenge societal structures and explore the complexities of identity. Mohamed's work frequently addresses the tensions between different social contexts, particularly those related to race, class, and immigration, often questioning how different social groups are represented in media and art, challenging stereotypes and seeking to offer alternative narratives. His work has been exhibited in major museums and biennials worldwide, and in 2020 he received the Deutsche Börse Photography Foundation Prize for his retrospective exhibition featured in the Arles Festival the previous year.Mohamed currently has a major solo show at Fondazione MAST in Bologna Italy, curated by Francesco Zanot. The exhibition is entitled Communautés and features four notable works produced over a twenty year span between 2005 and this year - Péripherique, Horse Day, Shoplifters and Hands. In episode 259, Mohamed discusses, among other things:The sense of community growing up in the Parisian suburbsHis early experiences as a graffiti artistHis first project, Nous Somme HallesThe 2005 riots that preceded PéripheriqueWhy he decided to stage images… and why he sketches the images out firstThe theme of masculinity and his own experience of growing up without a father presentThe challenges of being a dadKnowing that he wanted to be an artistHow artists must value their own work and learn to say noHis project Horse Day and how it came aboutArt as a playgroundHis new project, HandsHow he arrives at the choice of medium and the factors that inflence that choiceWhy he is, in his own words, an ‘extremely bad photographer' Referenced:AnoushkashootJamel ShabazzEmma-Charlotte GobryFletcher Street by Martha Camarillo Website | Instagram EPISODE SPONSORS:CHARCOAL WORKSHOPS. Send us a textWell, the long-awaited summer series Research 101 is finally here. I know you have heard me talking about it quite frequently. I just had to schedule some time with my guest, Chris Patty and once we sat down it flowed very nicely. Let me just bring you up to speed on Chris. You may remember that Chris was my guest for the 4th episode of this podcast and for the 100th episode he turned the tables and interviewed me and it's always a pleasure sitting down with Chris. But way back in the early 80's, he started his career as a surgical technician and quickly discovered he didn't want to work that hard, so he became an OR nurse. In the 40 years in between, he's become a doctorally-prepared nurse leader in clinical, quality improvement, research, and education and is living his best life. You may find this hard to believe but Chris did not need a single PowerPoint slide, he had no script, just a couple of notes scribbled on his paper because as you will find out he knows this topic like the back of his hand. This is part one of three in the series and for part one, we started with some history of research, he plainly and succinctly defined research, told us where we can find nursing literature, and shamelessly admitted that nursing research needs an overhaul. But, I think one of the most inspiring things that Chris said is that any nurse at any level can do research. Now, you hear the topic of chat GPT come up frequently during our conversation because as Chris tells us he is an evangelist for Chat GPT. We will save that for another episode. For now, let's dive into Research 101 Part One. Be sure to check out my CE Library on RNegade.pro because, good news, this series is available for CE'S. As a mom, navigating the end of the school year and the start of summer, I'm sharing my insights on how we can avoid burnout and truly enjoy this season. In this episode,, I dive deep into the importance of slowing down and giving ourselves and our kids a much-needed break. Summer isn't about constant activity, but about rest, connection, and healing. I challenge moms to let go of the pressure to create perfect memories and instead embrace unstructured time, boredom, and spontaneity. By normalizing mess, creating buffer zones in our day, and speaking kindly to ourselves, we can teach our children (and ourselves) how to regulate our nervous systems. The key is to listen to our bodies, allow for flexibility, and remember that presence matters more than perfection. This episode is a soul challenge to let summer be messy, real, and wonderfully imperfect. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This week's episode is about Guns N' Roses and the woman who inspired a trilogy of music videos from the band's 1990 double album Use Your Illusion. Erin Everly was Axl's girlfriend, muse, and eventual wife, then ex-wife. She is half forgotten, or at least conflated with the woman who played her in these videos, Stephanie Seymour. But Erin is a goddess in her own right, and her magic lit up my imagination when I first laid eyes on the rock epic mini movie that she co-created just by existing.

What happens when our hearts operate from a place of abandonment rather than security in God's love? This episode delves into the concept of "living from an orphan heart" – that desperate longing to be attached to someone or something that will provide worth and security. The conversation explores the parable of the Prodigal Son through a fresh lens – not just as a story of rebellion and return, but as a profound illustration of two sons (one who "got busy" and one who "got lost") who both struggled to grasp their father's unconditional love. Most revealing is how the father continually addresses both as "my son," emphasizing relationship over performance. For those wrestling with trust issues, control tendencies, fear of abandonment, or performance-based identity, this episode offers both insight and hope. The journey from orphan mindset to secure sonship begins with awareness of these patterns and an invitation to hear God's persistent voice calling us back to our true home in His heart.
