Lethal Mullet Podast: Episode #321: Top 5 Action TV Shows of the 1980's TOP 5 ACTION TV SHOWS OF THE 80s - RANKED. No sitcoms. No soaps. Just helicopters, Hawaiian shirts, duct tape, white blazers with no socks, and a bloke who leaps into other blokes. This week on the Lethal Mullet Podcast I'm counting down the 5 shows that raised us: 5. AIRWOLF - Billion dollar chopper held hostage by a bloke in a cabin who plays the cello. Peak 80s negotiation. 4. QUANTUM LEAP - Sam Beckett leaping into everyone's life trying to fix it. The only show where the hero could be a boxer, a mum, and a chimp in one week. 3. MAGNUM, P.I. - Ferrari you don't own, mansion you don't pay for, mustache that has its own ABN. The blueprint. 2. MACGYVER - Refused to carry a gun and became a verb. Stopped a nuke with a paperclip and made every dad think his junk drawer is tactical. 1. MIAMI VICE - MTV Cops. Pastel suits, Testarossa, gator called Elvis on a boat. It didn't just define the 80s, it WAS the 80s. Who did I rob? A-Team? Knight Rider? Tell me your #1 in the comments and I'll fight you respectfully.
Nick Freudenberg discusses with Ivan six things which should be better known. Nicholas Freudenberg is distinguished professor emeritus of public health at the City University of New York School of Public Health. His expertise includes childhood lead poisoning, AIDS prevention, urban food policy, community organization for health, and mass incarceration. Since the 1970s, Freudenberg has studied, evaluated, taught about, and participated in health activist campaigns in New York City and elsewhere. Freudenberg is the author of several books, including At What Cost: Modern Capitalism and the Future of Health (2021), Lethal but Legal Corporation, Consumption and Protecting Public Health (2014) and Not in Our Backyards! Community Action for Health and the Environment (1984). He was the founding director of the CUNY Urban Food Policy Institute, the CUNY Public Health Doctoral Program, and the Hunter College Center on AIDS, Drugs and Community Health. His new book is Fighting for New York, which is available at https://cup.columbia.edu/book/fighting-for-new-york/9780231221405/. Many advances in health are due to activists' health campaigns Changes in living conditions are more important than advances in medicine Short-term failures in activism may turn into long-term success The idea that the current situation is inevitable is the biggest threat to activism Activist groups win by bringing different communities together The key is to convince politicians they have more to lose by following demands of wealthier supporters This podcast is powered by ZenCast.fm

Michael calls in from Count Binface's campaign to beat Reform UK's Nigel Farage in the Clacton by-election. The Grumpies ponder a Binface-type manifesto for Australia - "I will cut your taxes and raise everyone else's," along with "The hand-dryer in the gents' toilet at the Great Himalayas restaurant Southport to be moved to a more sensible position". Practical politics for real people. Then Marcus unveils his path to make the AUKUS submarine program a truly national endeavour. It involves Strategic Analysis Australia being the centre of a new, mandatory, national contributions program centred on residents of the Australian Capital Territory. This leads naturally to Australia's developing contortions, somersaults & rotations around the fact that US submarines stationed in Australia will be carrying nuclear weapons, in breach of Australia's commitments to a nuclear free South Pacific under the Raratonga Treaty. The episode covers the astounding new release of Australia's 2026 Defence Innovation and Science strategy just two years on from the last one. Defence Science head Prof Tanya Monro (AC) uses this to prove that innovation requires nothing new and nothing to be achieved besides a font change and a modest cover page redesign. It ends with two philosophers: the new Chief of the Defence Force, Mark Hammond and his deputy Rob Chipman, and Grand Admiral Hammond's rousing commitment to an Australian military centred on Lethal Wellbeing.

Send us Fan MailIn this episode of the WTR Small Cap Spotlight, Wrap Technologies Founder, Chairman, and CEO Scot Cohen joins host Tim Gerdeman and analyst Eric Goldstein to discuss a month of significant news flow for the company. Cohen walks through a favorable ATF ruling classifying BolaWrap as a rescue and restraint device rather than a firearm, a strategic investment and exclusive four-year U.S./NATO license with Israeli sensing company Frenel Imaging, and the launch of the WrapShield counter-drone platform alongside the new multi-shot Raptor MX system. The conversation covers the legal and insurance-market implications of the ATF ruling, the underappreciated security-guard market opportunity, and how training-as-a-service and recurring cartridge and recertification revenue are building out the company's business model. Cohen closes with the company's target of roughly 100% revenue growth for 2026.
Lethal Mullet Podcast: Episode #319: The Top 5 Action FIlms of 1980 On tonight's minisode, we look at the very best action films of 1980. Welcome back to the vault. If this is your first time, we do things old school here. We love practical stunts, real squibs, and heroes who look like they have actually been punched. Before we kick the doors in, quick housekeeping. Full back catalogue is on fpnet.podbean.com, clips and carnage on @thelethalmullet. If you love the show, leave a five star review. It helps this little action bunker keep the lights on. Alright, ground rules for 1980. I am only counting films that are action first. So yes, Empire counts, even if it has lightsabers. No dramas pretending to be action. We are talking car chases, fist fights, shootouts, and stunts that should have killed somebody. We have got honorable mentions at the end, but let us get into the main event. Countdown style. Five to one. Episode Summary Evan shares his story as a third-generation Jehovah's Witness whose family joined the organization during a period of marital vulnerability. After his father died of HIV-related complications when Evan was just three years old, the family faced intense judgment and stigma within the congregation, leading them to relocate to a rural "compound" in North Carolina for a fresh start. Growing up, Evan was fueled by the "resurrection hope"—the promise that if he remained obedient and "did more" for the organization, he would eventually be reunited with his father. The episode explores the heavy psychological toll of this upbringing, including the "bloodguilt" placed on children to convert their peers and the "reverse parenting" Evan performed while his mother struggled with severe mental health issues. Evan details his transition from a socially unprepared "clip-on tie" child to a rebellious teenager leading a double life, which eventually culminated in a judicial committee and his expulsion at age 20. Now 40, Evan reflects on his journey of rebuilding his own identity, the "superpower" of personal autonomy, and how he created a "chosen family" outside the walls of the Kingdom Hall. Key Takeaways Resurrection Hope as Leverage: The organization uses the grief of losing a parent to "double down" on a child's commitment, making their future reunion dependent on constant religious performance. The "Cage" of Protection: Evan deconstructs the common JW illustration that the organization is a protective "cage" in a shark-infested ocean, arguing that a cage is still a restricting cage regardless of the perceived safety it provides. Autonomy as a Superpower: Leaving the organization provides a "clean slate" where an individual can finally choose their own morals, circle of friends, and identity without institutional permission. Institutional Gaslighting: The organization's culture is designed to make members doubt themselves and their own perceptions, effectively teaching obedience over identity. Financial and Emotional Retaliation: Even after leaving, members may face continued attempts at control, such as Evan's mother attempting to commit tax fraud involving him or demanding rent from her "checking out" teenage son. Direct Quotes "Autonomy is the coolest thing in the world. And once you have it, it never stops." "You learn obedience, not identity." "Conditional love is not love. Everything in the organization is conditional." The Doctor takes the TARDIS into the future where many great scientific leaps are taking place. But every new advance has its risks - and some of these risks are deadlier than others. 15.3 Green and Pleasant Planet by Tim Foley The Doctor and Sarah find themselves exploring an alien world alongside a British space expedition. It's never been visited before... so what's a model village doing on the surface of the planet? Finding the answer may prove deadly. 15.4 The Continuum by John Dorney The Doctor and Sarah land on the space-station Daedalus on the day it makes history. The first journey through hyperspace has just been completed. But it hasn't gone as smoothly as posterity suggests. Something terrible is happening - and the clock is ticking down. 15.5 The Audience by Lizzie Hopley A cultural festival on Gakoria should be light relief for the TARDIS crew. But when one of the cast of a play dies, Sarah has to join the troupe. And the Audience on this world are very demanding. Because on this planet... the play's the thing. **Please note: the collector's edition CD box set is strictly limited to 1,500 copies**
Everlast traces his journey from Rhyme Syndicate graffiti kid to House of Pain to solo artist, revealing how Jump Around's success gave him the freedom to never chase a hit again. New LP "Embers to Ashes" available here Topics Include: Everlast's new album Embers to Ashes drops August 28th with vinyl available He collects art and guitars, not records — leaves vinyl to the DJs His guitar collection spans vintage Fender Strats, Gretsch Falcons, and Martin acoustics Grew up immersed in graffiti culture, his kids are graffiti artists too His house is essentially a private gallery of graffiti and street art Music was always on — mom loved R&B and doo-wop, dad loved Southern rock His dad had a guitar; Everlast taught himself basic chords by watching TV Hip hop took over at 15, but guitar quietly stayed in his life He plays guitar like a drummer — rhythm-first, not melody-first The breakthrough came post-House of Pain: suddenly he could play and sing simultaneously Whitey Ford Sings the Blues was conceived as hip hop — "What It's Like" changed everything Jump Around's success gave him the financial freedom to never chase it again He and Muggs deliberately made each subsequent record darker and more distant from it Soul Assassins kept management out of sessions — artistic control was non-negotiable His first ever rhyme came from tagging alongside Divine Styler and the Rhyme Syndicate crew Danny Boy introduced him to punk — Bad Brains and the LA hardcore scene His debut solo record split between pure artistic vision and label-pleasing compromises Tommy Boy won his loyalty over bigger-money offers purely on cultural credibility Just Another Victim with Helmet emerged organically on the Judgment Night soundtrack Lethal sampled and slowed Helmet's track, then sandwiched both versions together After eight-plus years away, Yellow Wolf simply asked "why don't you make a record?" COVID, divorce, and losing his house shaped the emotional landscape of the new album Yellow Wolf pushed him to fully sing — his strongest vocal performance on record A near-miss connection to the Bataclan attack was redirected by a last-minute camera detour He's got shows booked and eyes a final solo acoustic tour as his ultimate bookend High resolution version of this podcast is available at: www.Patreon.com/VinylGuide Apple: https://tinyurl.com/tvg-ios Spotify: https://tinyurl.com/tvg-spot Amazon Music: https://tinyurl.com/tvg-amazon Support the show at Patreon.com/VinylGuide

On this week's Neutralizing Workplace Racism, we address a devastating eruption of physical, lethal violence targeting Black employees across the country. According to investigators, a dispute over a work schedule and text messages led to a fatal shooting of 32-year-old Brandon Lucas, a privileged black worker inside a Las Vegas Five Below store. We follow this with the tragic shooting inside Wilmington Hospital, where police confirmed that 19-year-old Ethan Hillman was targeted and killed by a black coworker. Next, we look at a glaring corporate betrayal out of St. Louis, where two Starbucks employees were fired immediately after they successfully fought back and disarmed an armed robber. We also analyze the horrific murder of 44-year-old Alexis Hill, a black female Georgia Dollar General manager who was gunned down following an argument over a $1.58 transaction for a pack of hamburger buns. Amid record-breaking regional heatwaves, Gus delivers a vital reality check: between coworker hostility, non-existent corporate security, and ruthless corporate liability policies, the workplace has never been more dangerous. Your absolute priority on the clock is no longer corporate validation or career advancement—it is deploying emergency defensive strategies to survive your shift alive and in one piece. Tune in on Apple Podcasts and YouTube to arm yourself with raw strategies to protect your life. #WorkplaceViolenceAgainstBlackEmployees #WorkplaceRacism #TheCOWS17Years #NeutralizingWorkplaceRacism Call: 720.716.7300 Code: 564943#

Stay informed on South Carolina Women's Basketball with Gamecocks Talk with Captain Will your premier source for the latest news and recruiting updates. As three-time NCAA National Champions, the team is preparing to defend their title season. Tessa Johnson's elite perimeter gravity remains underutilized, yet we must demand higher volume to dismantle sagging SEC defenses. Increasing her attempts forces defenders away from the paint, creating essential driving lanes for our backcourt. We prioritize this tactical shift to maximize offensive efficiency and secure our dynasty's next championship run. Women's basketball is continuously evolving, with NCAA Women's Basketball and the WNBA receiving acclaim for their exciting gameplay. Under the leadership of Head Coach Dawn Staley, the team includes players such as Chloe Kitts, Ashlyn Watkins, Tessa Johnson, Joyce Edwards, Maddy McDaniel, Adhel Tac, Agot Makeer, Ayla McDowell, and Alicia Tournebize are expected to enhance the team's performance this season. Newcomers Justine Loubens, Oliviyah Edwards, Jordan Lee, Jerzy Robinson, Kaeli Wynn, and Kelsie Andrews look to contribute heavily. Tune in to Gamecocks Talk with Captain Will, broadcasting daily. Hey Hey Poison Friends! We are bringing you part 2 of our look into Johnson & Johnson, and the drama is only escalating. We are discussing the expensive end to their use of talc in baby powders as well as the damage that it did to numerous women and likely others exposed to it. J&J apparently learned nothing from this, however. When people began dying of liver failure after taking too much Tylenol (acetaminophen) or because they had been moderate drinkers before taking it, they did their best to hide the facts from the public. When the FDA asked them to put a warning on Tylenol for its possible effects on the liver, they fought back for years. They made hundreds of millions of dollars on Tylenol, even though it was over the counter, and it was at one point the highest cause of liver failure in the US and in Britain. Then there was the infant's vs children's versions. In the midst of all of this, we need to look into their history of wooing doctors and politicians into their pockets as well as how their agenda for more money has led to bankruptcies and deaths across America for decades. They are not the only ones, and don't worry, we'll get to them too...Thank you to all of our listeners and supporters! We truly appreciate you all! 2026-06-13 | UPDATES #213 | How Putin's regime ends: the Abramovich Kyiv mission, the Beria precedent and why a chasm is opening between Putin, reality and his elites. 10 June 2026 — the most strategically consequential diplomatic event of the spring of 2026 was held in a Kyiv residence on 21 may, was disclosed by Putin himself at SPIEF on 5 June, and has now re-written the Russian elite's decisional arithmetic. But we must ask, is Abramovich negotiating on behalf of Putin, or the elites that may increasingly be diverging from him, in terms of their perceived interests. ----------SUPPORT THE CHANNEL:https://www.buymeacoffee.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.patreon.com/siliconcurtainhttps://www.gofundme.com/f/scaling-up-campaign-to-fight-authoritarian-disinformation----------ACTIVE CAMPAIGN:We are raising funds for 5 of 15 Vampire DronesSilicon Curtain for Kupiansk Vampires.
