Ep #8 - The Effect of Honesty on the Body, Recognizing Loneliness, & Explorations of the Self - Tah Whitty and Barton Scott

Play Episode Listen Later May 14, 2020 56:58

In today’s podcast, Tah and Barton talked about the effects of honesty on the body, recognizing loneliness and explorations of the self.    Tah started by sharing his experiences as an ER nurse for 25 years in every borough of New York City and how much he has learned with that experience.    It opened his eyes to how the physiology of humans interacts with their environment, how loneliness is an inherent part of a person’s psyche and how the effects of honesty on the body leads to healing.   Getting into the core of things help you understand how a body functions, how the mind works and through this, you piece together why people do what they do.    Sometimes, we get so immersed in these habitual loops that we fail to recognize we’re in it altogether. Some, if not most of us, need help in reacquainting with ourselves, introspecting and exploring more of our past experiences to fully realize what it is that makes us behave in such a way.    In this podcast, we also discussed: 05:01 Repression of expression 09:13 What drove you to do it? 10:30 Building habits in a dysfunctional manner 15:46 Letting things go and seeing the body relax in particular ways 23:57 What caused it? Getting to the root of things 34:43 What society is telling us 49:20 What is causing us to hide from our greatness?   The effects of honesty on the body, recognizing loneliness and explorations of the self have helped people relax and be less angry, negative or violent by letting go of what it was in the past that caused them to behave such a way, ultimately leading them to be happier and more hopeful of what’s ahead of them.   Find tah at tahnkole.com and @tahfree on instagram.com    Check out more of Barton and Total Upgrade with the following accounts:   Spotify - Total Upgrade Listen to Notes - https://www.listennotes.com/podcasts/total-upgrade-barton-scott-2xyrMkAV6Bs/ Twitter - @itsbartonscott
