James, who previously went by the SIMMY moniker, was among the first guests I welcomed onto my platform. James Sismanes is an award-winning audio and visual storyteller from Melbourne, Australia. A small business owner by day (ImagiWorks Agency, Vision One Technologies) and a full-time creative by night, James is a multi-dimensional make-believer and dreamer of the (almost!) impossible. With over 500+ sales on the acclaimed AudioJungle marketplace, a debut children's book (The Marvellous Mullabaloos Only Wear Blue), and a diverse and unique business/branding portfolio, James is always on the hunt for the next “big idea.” James' screenplays (“Dr. Claus,” “The Ballad of Bam Barlow,” “Bliss Inc.,” and “Tilt”) have consistently ranked on Coverfly‘s “The Red List,” and he has placed as a finalist or semi-finalist in various screenwriting competitions (including the Emerging Screenwriters, Screencraft, So Cal Screenplay, and New York International Screenplay Awards).Behind a MIDI controller, James has collaborated on records with award-winning and globally recognized artists like Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Josh Levi, B2K, Pretty Ricky (Emanuel Deanda), Gabe Lustman, Minus Gravity, K Major, and Giulietta. When he's not writing, producing, designing, sales pitching, and daydreaming like a world-saving superhero, James Sismanes enjoys eating cheeseburgers and chicken parmigiana, conquering Xbox tournaments, watching Friends re-runs, catching Pokémon, and dealing with the heartache of being a Barça and Cleveland sports fan. On this milestone episode of The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, James Sismanes spoke about his debut children's book, The Marvellous Mullabaloos Only Wear Blue, award-winning screenplays, and his latest collaboration with Emnauel Deanda's “Body.”Let's connect on social media! Welcome back to Making Bank. In today's episode, we have a compilation of previous episodes with Stefan Georgi, Craig Ballantyne, Trav Lubinsky, David Wood, Drew Manning, Rob Dial, Michael Bernoff, and in this episode, you will hear tips and tricks from top entrepreneurs about the guide to success. (3:02) Stefan Georgi Truly understanding your customer on a deep level is crucial, arguably the most important step. Often, we assume we already know our market, so we skip the research. However, diving in and peeling back the layers will provide invaluable insights. (7:30) Craig Ballantyne The essence of the "Perfect Week Formula" can be summarized in 12 words: Build your business around your life, not your life around your business. (15:37) Trav Lubinsky The misconception is that e-commerce is like printing money. However, success depends on various factors: focusing on top-line revenue, managing gross profit, ensuring a healthy bottom line, and having sufficient cash flow to support growth. (18:58) David Wood Imagine being 30% more daring. How would that transform your relationships, your openness with other people, and your performance at work? Embracing boldness in these areas could lead to deeper connections, more excitement, and greater success. (24:25) Drew Manning We often create stories in our minds about how terrifying something will be, which paralyzes us from taking action. However, when we finally face the challenge, we realize it was much scarier in our imagination than in reality. (30:40) Rob Dial When I'm negative, I attract more negativity because my brain's reticular activating system seeks proof of it. However, if I focus on my goals and visualize the life I want every morning, my brain will look for and attract the people, places, opportunities, and things that align with my vision. (38:45) Michael Bernoff Grab attention with phrases like "Look, listen, attention" or "Hey, you're going to be interested in what I share next." Using specific, direct language like "This next part is extremely interesting" engages the listener. Welcome back to Making Bank. On today's episode, we have a compilation of previous episodes with Daymond John, Philip Stutts, David Wood, Drew Manning, Rob Dial, Cody Sperber and Michael Bernoff and in this episode you will hear tips and tricks from top entrepreneurs about the guide to success. (2:51) Daymond John Only tell people things about you that are easily digestible. This is because first impressions are very important. You do not want to bombard people with unnecessary details on the first meeting. Make sure you have an interesting reputation so that you can build a strong network. (8:07) Phillip Stutts Do not start a marketing campaign by guessing. It is never a good idea. Brainstorm around messages and ideas based on your data, what your customers want. Find out what they need and make sure you serve them. When it comes to marketing, never guess anything. (10:53) David Wood Learn to speak up. Learn to say the hard truth. Most people go around never having tough conversations. There may be a lot of risk in speaking up but you may gain a lot as well. It lifts up a burden off your chest. Never entertain passive aggressiveness because it will ruin you in the long run. (17:42) Drew Manning Keto, along with an intermediate fasting approach, works really well for entrepreneurs. When your brain gets adapted to ketones, the mental clarity you experience is through the roof. But if you're glucose adapted you're going to burn through glucose. That is why keto is the best approach for entrepreneurs. (23:55) Rob Dial The most important thing that most people neglect is the kind of people they surround themselves with. You have to get rid of some people in your life. Whatever you put in your brain, that is what will get out. Spend less time with people who are negative and spend more time with people who will teach you the right things to succeed. (28:22) Cody Sperber Learning to build an amazing team that is more capable than you is very important. However, this doesn't remove you from the picture. You need to be the strongest link that holds this team together. You must also never neglect your family. They are as important as your team in order to be successful. (37:19) Michael Bernoff As an entrepreneur, you will get to a point in your life where you are sick and tired of your daily life. When you reach this point remember that when you think you are failing, you are not. You just do not like the place where you are at. Learn to move out of that place, pick yourself up so you can find your next goal to work for. Drew Manning, the "Fit2Fat2Fit Guy," experienced a unique transformation journey after gaining 75 pounds in 2011. Drew explains his story with Dr. Brian, including how he stopped exercising and ate a standard American diet to gain weight. Drew shares his knowledge of the complex factors influencing weight loss and health change, such as hormones, mental and emotional factors, and food addiction. He also talks about the disconnect between himself and his clients before the experiment due to his never being overweight and how that changed when he completed the Fit2Fat2Fit experiment. Lessons Learned From Drew's Fit2Fat2Fit Experience Drew experienced first-hand how powerful emotional eating can be. Food is the most accessible drug in the United States because it gives us a dopamine hit. Our brains crave more of that dopamine hit, so we eat more. This dopamine hit is why it is so hard for people to get off processed foods and onto healthier options. It is like going through withdrawal symptoms.Drew faced cravings but stayed on track with his transformation plan thanks to accountability and motivation from followers. He also learned that transformation involves mental and emotional aspects, addressing food addiction, self-sabotage, nutrient processing, genetics, and hormone balance. Despite the complexity, with motivation and accountability, he achieved a healthier life.Health and Your Relationship With FoodGenetics can impact our relationship with food. Emotional attachments formed in childhood, such as associating ice cream with rewards, can lead to reaching for it during emotional moments. It's crucial to be aware of our eating patterns and behaviors, considering how genetics influence our relationship with food. With motivation and support, making the necessary changes for a healthier life is achievable.Weight Loss Is Highly Individualized Despite genetic influences on our relationship with food, it's possible to achieve a healthier life. Understanding our own food patterns is crucial. Comparing ourselves to online influencers and expecting their results is unrealistic. Weight loss is a complex and individual journey, requiring empathy for those facing challenges.Key Takeaways:[02:14] Getting fat to motivate clients.[03:58] Complex factors in diabetes management.[07:00] Processed food and addiction.[17:14] Emotional eating habits.[20:30] Fitness industry and body types.[27:10] Accessibility to healthy food.[29:11] Overcoming mental and emotional hurdles.[38:10] Maintaining weight loss.[41:22] Self-love and healthy lifestyles[45:10] Age and fitness transformation.Resources:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/fit2fat2fit/Website: https://fit2fat2fit.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/fit2fat2fit/Twitter: https://twitter.com/fit2fat2fitFit2Fat2Fit: The Unexpected Lessons from Gaining and Losing 75 lbs on Purpose: https://www.amazon.com/Fit2Fat2Fit-Unexpected-Lessons-Gaining-Purpose/dp/0062194216Complete Keto: A Guide to Transforming Your Body and Your Mind for Life: https://www.amazon.com/Complete-Keto-Guide-Transforming-Your/dp/1401956262/ Support the show

We are featuring clips from Episode 173, 175, 192, 196, 212, 213, and 216. AI was used to help curate some of the best moments out of several hours of content to produce this episode.Highlights"Now what I didn't realize at the time, it was an irresistible offer because out of the 137 people, 125 of them gave me their personal details to follow up. I had a little fishbowl jar that I got from the 99 cents store at the back , but . I literally had 125 pieces of paper with people's names and details on that.So I followed it up and, and did a whole bunch of like free coaching. And from there I ended up signing 12 full-time paying clients. So I went from zero to hero in my own mind of like do it building my coaching business. Four days later a director from HP calls me and says, love the presentation. Can you come and speak at our next global training day?""one of the key things to distinguish yourself amongst other professionals at that level is how well effectively and confidently you can communicate""most of my clients don't pay anything out of pocket to see me. I bill their health insurance companies and health insurance companies pay me, which is very, very cool.""my official title is Director of Creative Strategy. Now, what that means is part marketing, part facilitating, I teach our workshops. I do our mentoring online, one-on-one coaching. So I have my hands in a little bit of everything and I've had to learn pretty much any skill.""I ran a gym, a gym in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, called KPC Self-Defense for 15 years. And through that platform, I jumped international. And now my full-time job is public speaking and talking to people all around the world about self-defense, self-protection, and mostly my focus is all of the skills that lead up to a physical encounter and ways to deescalate ahead of time because the people I serve are not just martial athletes and fit people. Self-defense is for everyone. So whether you are 75 years old or 13 years old, your self-defense strategy shouldn't rely on being a young fit human.""if you're someone who's brand new to making videos, if you're someone who has no idea what to do, the number one reason most people get crippled is because they're like, I have to have the perfect plan. I have to have the right lighting. I have to have the right camera. Like you have an iPhone, you have a Samsung, whatever you wanna say. Like, these cameras are machines now these phones are machines. You have something in your pocket to start making content.""When you live an unhealthy lifestyle, you eat lots of processed junk foods, you don't, you know, you're not exercising. How that factors into you as a human and you as a father, as a mother, and you as a spouse, you as a business owner, you know, and all your relationships. And how it all stems from living a, a, a, an unhealthy physical lifestyle and how that carries over into other aspects of your life. Because a lot of people don't realize that." Today, I am blessed to have for a second time Drew Manning. Drew is the New York Times best-selling author of Fit2Fat2Fit: The Unexpected Lessons from Gaining and Losing 75 lbs on Purpose and has for years been a leading voice in the burgeoning Keto Diet movement. Drew is also the creator of the A&E Show Fit to Fat to Fit and the host of The Fit2Fat2Fit Experience podcast. With over a million social media followers, Drew continues to transform people's lives all around the world. Known for his straightforward and empathetic fitness and health coaching, Drew has been featured on The Dr. Oz Show, CNN, Good Morning America, The Tonight Show, The View, and MSNBC, among other media outlets. He lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, with his daughters, who remind him every day not to take things too seriously. In this episode, Drew talks about his first two Fit2Fat2Fit experiments. He reveals what the most challenging aspects of gaining 75 pounds and losing it again were. As a personal trainer, Drew realized that he was totally wrong in his approach to helping people transform. In reality, life's emotional and mental side has way more impact on our physical transformations than we realize. Later, Drew talks about the importance of becoming comfortable with being uncomfortable on any transformational journey. Tune in as Drew answers questions from the Keto Kamp listeners at the end of the show. [02:20] All About Drew's First Fit2Fat2Fit Experiment In 2011, Drew did his first Fit2Fat2Fit experiment. As a personal trainer, Drew had never once been overweight a day in his life. However, Drew's clients were overweight pretty much every day of their life. Unfortunately, Drew couldn't understand why it's so hard for them to follow the meal plans and do the workouts that he gave them. So, Drew went on a journey to gain a better understanding of what it was like to be overweight, and he put on 75 pounds in six months. Drew learned that he was totally wrong in his approach to helping people transform. [10:05] Dealing With A Breakup Was The Hardest Part of Fit2Fat2Fit Drew and his girlfriend broke up during the Fit2Fat2Fit experiment. Many people ask if the breakup was because of this journey, and the honest truth is no. Sadly, they had problems before the journey even started. However, the problems were amplified because of Drew's unhealthy physical state, which affected his emotional state. When you're unhealthy, your ability to handle stress is severely diminished. Plus, you're more reactive, and you're in survival mode. Overall, unhealthy living causes a lot more issues in whatever relationship you're in, whether it's romantic, friendships, or family. After the breakup, Drew was sad, lonely, and depressed. It was the hardest part of the journey for Drew. [18:20] The Transition Back To ‘Fit' After Gaining So Much Weight Drew made the transition back to being ‘fit' cold turkey. He flipped the switch and went completely keto. Drew was excited, but he did not underestimate the power of withdrawal symptoms. Drew's body would almost fight back against him with cravings to eat the processed food because he had trained it for so long to eat that. Thousands of people signed up to follow Drew on his journey, so that's what motivated him to keep going. Community is a powerful tool on any journey of wellness. [21:55] Physical Transformation Is Way More Emotional Than We Think The stresses of life don't go away when you're on a physical weight loss journey. If you're not prepared to deal with the emotional challenges that have been holding you back from living that healthy physical lifestyle, then transformation will not be manageable. You need new thought patterns so you can actually have success on the physical transformation side. If we can give people tools on the emotional side, then they will be able to handle physical transformations. [26:00] The Importance of Becoming Comfortable In Uncomfortable Situations Here are some tools to help strengthen the mental side of your transformation: Make your bed every single day. Take a cold shower for 60 seconds. Write a daily gratitude list. Say positive affirmations each day. These things can be uncomfortable for lots of people, but training your brain to become comfortable in these uncomfortable situations can carry over into eating healthy food. We can become comfortable in these uncomfortable situations. That way, the physical journey will be so much easier. [29:05] The Reason That We Are More Than Our Bodies Many of us see our identity as our body image. During Fit2Fat2Fit, Drew was uncomfortable and didn't feel like himself anymore. Sadly, he was going through an identity crisis. Think about your identity without your body – it's a powerful tool to learn. Learn how to step outside of your body and realize that you have so much more to offer the world. We are more than our bodies – it's time to break free of that cycle. [34:50] Why Getting Healthier Will Cause You To Be Happier A healthier version of you is going to cause you to be happier. Also, a healthier version of you is going to make it easier for you to be more fulfilled. Instead of focusing on being skinnier and getting ripped, people should focus on being healthier. A critical piece of health is managing stress. These are some powerful stress management tools: Meditation Prayer Journaling Getting out in nature Being with family Being with loved ones Relationships Sleeping [45:45] Finding A Healthy Alternative To Ben & Jerry's Sadly, Drew hasn't found a quality replacement for Ben & Jerry's yet. However, there are some good keto ice creams out in the world. Drew doesn't want to eat ice cream when stressed out; it's a bad habit to form. Instead, eat ice cream with intention and enjoy it. Don't do it to escape any situation or feeling. Always have a good intention when eating something. Self-awareness plays a big role in being able to control emotional eating. [56:20] How To Move Out Of Complacency During A Physical Transformation The scale isn't the best measurement of your health. Instead, think about other areas of your life that are improving. Ask yourself these questions: Are you getting stronger with your workouts? Are you building up your endurance? Are you fitting into your clothes better? Are you waking up with more energy? You don't want to be on this journey just for the end results. The results don't determine your level of happiness or your level of success. AND MUCH MORE!
