This week we had so much to cover we will actually split the episode into 2. The first part starts with Pastor Davenport of Zion Lutheran giving us updates on the church opening and other church news. He also shares an uplifting message with us.We then talk to Frankie Simek about artifacts he has gathered from around the area and shares a lot of history about the nomadic people of the way way past.We then talk to Tim Mickan about the history of the Walburg beer joints. As you remember Danny and Ethel of Mickan Motor Company stopped by last week, and Tim keeps the stories going.Finally we speak with Ronnie Tipplet of the Walburg German Restuarant and Biergarten. He talks about their opening June 19 for Fathers Day Weekend and the plans for the menu and beyond. He cover the phone number for God.We then move on to the tornado with Don Tschoerner and he discusses what he saw that day and the way it impacted the community. We also got Mary Schwertener on the phone who actually was a barmaid at one of the bars of Walburg.We of course got @Josh Hobratsch on for some puns and more history of Walburg. Josh shared his memories of cruising the candy counter and drinking Big Red.We finished it of with Rusty talking about playing at @st peter church of walburg with Ronie Tiplet of @Walburg German Restaurant & Biergarten for Mother’s Day. WNN podcast 9 is live! This week we celebrate business opening back up across Texas. We had Dale from @Dale’s Essenhaus on and he talks about the business opening and the fireworks that went along with it.We also had Peter from @Granger City Brewing Company on talking about their business and there upcoming EXPANSION! You heard it here first, they are expanding into a distillery.We had Taylor Café on talking about their plans as well.On the community side we had Kevin Gehrig of the Weir Fire Department on talking safety, the new sign, COVID-19 protocols, and BBQ.We also had our friends on for the garden report. And of course, we had @Josh Hobratsch on for some levity. We finished the show with a special friend, Mary Schwertner. We know everyone is getting tired of quarantine so is WNN. We are ready to get back to the fellowship in the community and having fun. But in the mean time we continue to bring you the happenings in the community. This week we were luck enough o speak with Father Stephen Nesrsta of Holy Trinity Church of Corn Hill. He shared some gospel with us and a message of hope during this time.In studio we had Rusty of the Walburg Boys and Quintin Dubec of the Quintin Dubec Band. They played some music for the studio. We also Spoke with David Earl of The Caring Place about how they are helping the community and what you can do if you want to donate. Then we got Monica of Barlett Red and White on the phone to talk about what’s happening in Bartlett and about the Red and White. Make sure to stop in and grab a sandwich.Finally, we had some lighthearted humor interviewing for a backup host in case the Covid got our one and only host Doc. We got Josh Hobratsch on the phone, JJ came into the studio, 80’s Jerry gave us a radio voice, and Mark Kinard stopped by as well. All in good fun but we will be sticking with Doc. We apologize in the prayer portion the phone signal got a garbled, but the prayer was too beautiful to cut.Next we got our couch slouch comic Josh Hobratsch on the phone. As always Josh had a few crickets and a some laughs. We discussed what would you but in your disaster relief box. Finally, we learned Josh's wife is a better writer of jokes than Josh. We capped it off with a garden report from Mr. Terry Friedrich "the turnip king" and some reporting on the disaster relief boxes delivered by Joyce White and food from friends.We hope you enjoy the show!

We spoke with Pastor Blane from Mt Ararat Missionary Baptist Church in Bartlett, TX and we share some time with him talking about faith in these times.We also covered some of the community happenings with Josh Hobratsch and how the National Christian Foundation, Dales Essenhaus, Pastor Kevin from Zion Lutheran, Zion Lutheran volunteers, and Kris Kasper are teaming up to help deliver food to the community. (the crickets are explained in some bonus coverage with Josh at the end of the podcast, and it is all in good fun) We also covered upcoming plans for Food With Friends with Joyce White. We then got Pastor Phil from St Peter Lutheran Church on to talk about their plans for Holy Week, and we spoke with Pastor John at Zion Lutheran to cover their plans. (Spoiler alert we invited Pastor John back next week for a longer talk)Jerry Smiley MF and Lorenzo stopped by and we had a good, safe time and we capped off the podcast with a special discussion about making masks with our friend Lorenzo. Doc and friends have a general round table talking about whats going on in Walburg during the first week of the Covid-19 quarantine. We talk about the local churches and the local businesses here in the area and how to help them. We share information on the limited things we know and a few ideas on how to help people in the community. Most of all we crack a few malty beverages and enjoy some fellowship (less than 10 people and we all took our temperatures, and Terry was coughing a month before anyone knew about Corona virus)

Also, this episode may stir up some controversy in Corn Hill about wiffle ball, as the beers were opened the stories got embellished just a little bit. The guys also reported completely on the 7 lb turnip. The episode covers cooking turnips and the theory about how the turnip got to 7 lbs.Most of all the podcast was friends getting together laughing and talking about the happenings around Walburg and having fun.
