Wannabe Film Buffs is a weekly movie review podcast where your hosts Dane Shiner (twitter.com/baitfish9) and JV Hampton-Vansant (twitter.com/RedBlaqueGolden) watch all the movies that they've somehow not seen until now! Their Film Buff journey begins with going through IMDb's top 250 films....with a twist! Each time they get to a film on the list that is part of a series, they binge the whole series before they move on in a segment called Series Binge Hell (for example: when they reach a film like The Dark Knight, the next episodes will be Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, and The Dark Knight Rises).
This week, we brought on Scottye Moore! from the BS network! Scottye is going to break a world record, and we were happy to be a part of it. Also, truly, this is JV's favorite episode. This was so much fun. Oh yeah, we talked about Return of the Jedi. This week, Dane and JV will be starting the Star Wars Trilogy. It begins with A New Hope!~
This week, we saw Inception. And y'all... Be prepared to have your minds toyed with... kinda like the concept of Inception.
For #MovieMonday this week, we watched Birds Of Prey. Listen, you all knew this day was coming.
Because of our policy regarding racial slurs, Forrest Gump is out, and Eve's Bayou is in. Join us as we watch Jurnee Smollett slay the acting game at 10 years old, 23 years before Birds Of Prey.
For #MovieMonday: We watched Interview with a Vampire. The story of a gay couple consisting of a drama queen and an utter hedonist, who adopt a tiny blonde satanist. Happy Pride!
This week, we talk about Fight Club. I know, I know, First rule, second rule, yada yada. But the real tea is: If this movie were about a black person, it would make a lot more sense.
For our first #MovieMonday , we watched Million Ways To Die in the West. It has a star-studded cast and is the perfect palette cleanser. Remember: EVERYTHING IN THE WEST IS TRYING TO KILL YOU.
This week, we finish off the Dollars Trilogy with the movie that invented the most powerful and omnipresent musical sting: The Good The Bad And the Ugly. Outlaws are Land Pirates, and Tuco deserves a bath, and these are the platforms we will run on in 2024.
This week, we watched For A Few Dollars More. And I promise you, it was PURELY a coincidence that this came out at the beginning of pride and that for almost all of June we will be doing movies with HUGE homosexual undertones. No joke, we didn't plan this. But what a happy accident indeed.
Today we start our series binge of the Man With No Name trilogy, which is also called the Dollars trilogy. This movie is from the 60's, and our opinions with this movie might surprise you. You definitely DEFINITELY Want to check out the next 3 episodes, specifically for the jokes and opinions that came from it.
