Bible experts have long been confused as to why the chapters at the end of the Book of Ezekiel go into such granular detail about a building which, over 2500 years later, has yet to be constructed. It's one of the marvels of the Bible, and sits surprisingly comfortably in a book that has a man lie on one side for over a year, who is ordered to cook on a fire made from his own poo, whose wife is killed to make a point about the fall of Jerusalem, who describes women so debauched that it puts Fifty Shades of Grey in the shade, oh, and who sees the kneebone connected to the thighbone. I'm actually sad we're getting to the end of Ezekiel's book, and I hope you're enjoying it as much as I am.Written and produced by Chas BayfieldMusic by Michael Auld and Jon Hawkins MusicCover art by Lisa GoffE: contact@whollybuyable.comX: Wholly Buyable PodcastConversions9in = 23cm21in = 53cm42in = 1m0715ft = 4.5m24.5ft = 7.5m30ft = 9m75ft = 23m150ft = 46m750ft = 230m3D video render of Ezekiel's temple: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oQRegCrJHzkHow the altar looked: https://in.pinterest.com/pin/51298883249768377/
We are beginning the final part of the gospel of Mark this week, with Jesus entering into Jerusalem. The expectations upon him are so high, and so wrong, that a collision of ideals will soon reveal if people want to follow the real Jesus, or a Jesus of their own making. Acts 1:6–11; 6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.” 9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18 13 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. 14 For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. 15 For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. Introduction: The Hope That Defines the Christian Life The Certainty of Christ's Return (Acts 1:9–11) The Resurrection Hope (1 Thessalonians 4:13–16) The Glory of His Return (1 Thessalonians 4:16–17) Comfort for Believers (1 Thessalonians 4:18) Application: How We Must Live Live Ready Encourage One Another Live with Eternal Perspective Conclusion: The King Is Coming
At the conclusion of this age, God's power will break forth in ways beyond our imagination. But in the meantime, we will need His help to navigate what is ahead of us. In this sermon, Pastor Allen Jackson discusses what we can expect when the prophecies in Revelation are fulfilled. He shares what Jesus tells us about the rapture, the Antichrist, and the Son of God's return to Earth—and he encourages us to live righteously, without fear of the future. Choosing to align with God's will instead of the destructive culture around us will help us to withstand any hardship ahead. So, we don't have to live in fear, anxiety, or confusion about the End Times. Our Lord is coming back!

The Return of the King (Zechariah 9:9-13) | 032926 by One Ancient Hope Presbyterian Church
Are we actually ready for Jesus to return? In this message from Mark 13, Pastor Bayless Conley walks through what Jesus said about the end of the age and what His return will really be like. Be encouraged to stay alert, live with urgency, and anchor your hope in the promise that He is coming again.
Bestselling author and minister John Bevere joins the basement for a wide-ranging conversation that starts with Nephilim and UFOs and lands squarely on the return of Jesus Christ. John has written 25 books, given away over 65 million resources to pastors in 243 nations, and spent 40 years in ministry, but he had never preached a message on the second coming until recently. He explains why he avoided the topic for decades after the fallout of the 1988 rapture predictions, and what changed when God put it on his heart five years ago to dig into what the Bible actually says. What he found transformed his personal life, his marriage, his ministry, and his understanding of why eagerness for Christ's return is one of the most overlooked and powerful themes in all of Scripture. The conversation moves through the fear of the Lord, holiness as a doorway to intimacy with God, why the bride of Christ has a responsibility to prepare herself, and what it looks like practically to stay dressed and ready for a King who could return at any moment. John shares personal stories about fatherhood, marriage, discipline, apologizing to his sons, and the moment a famous imprisoned minister told him the difference between loving Jesus and fearing God. He also weighs in on why believers shouldn't be shaken by the supernatural, from chariots of fire to UAP disclosure, and makes the case that he believes no other generation in history has had the prophetic conditions in place the way this one does This Episode is Sponsored By: https://get.stash.com/blurry — See how you can receive $25 towards your first stock purchase and to view important disclosures. https://timtebow.com/tree-blurry/ — Get your copy of If the Tree Could Speak by Tim Tebow on Amazon today! https://homechef.com/blurry — Get 50% off plus free shipping on your first box & free dessert for life! - Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome back to another episode of The Bourbon Road! After a brief hiatus, the man, the myth, the legend—Jim Shannon—is officially back in the host chair. Jim recently returned from a trip to Florida, where he experienced the wild swings of winter weather, going from 80 degrees down to 35. Of course, Kentucky wasn't about to be outdone, greeting him with 70-degree days followed immediately by threats of snow and heavy rains. As Jim and Todd Ritter settle back into the Bourbon Road bar, they take a moment to reflect on the crazy weather and look back at the anniversary of the historic Frankfort floods, thankful that the waterfront survived mostly intact this year. But enough about the weather—it is time to drink some incredible whiskey. For this highly anticipated review episode, the guys are diving into something truly special: the brand-new King of Kentucky Small Batch releases from Brown-Forman. If you follow the brand, you know that King of Kentucky is historically known for its ultra-rare, high-proof single barrel releases. However, the team at Brown-Forman found themselves with around 100 barrels that had incredibly low yields—some containing only 20 to 30 bottles worth of liquid due to heavy evaporation. Rather than release them individually, they decided to batch them together. This special release was created in honor of the upcoming 250th anniversary of the United States. These small batches feature bourbon aged between 12 and 18 years, and surprisingly, they utilize a slightly different mash bill than the standard releases: 75% corn, 15% rye, and 10% malted barley. Bottled in 700mL formats with an MSRP of $299, these are still incredibly hard to find. Fortunately, Todd and Jim were lucky enough to get their hands on samples of all three batches thanks to their good friend John Peetz (aka Top Dog), whom they recently joined for an excellent barrel pick at Bluegrass Distilling. On the Tasting Mat: King of Kentucky Small Batch 1: Coming in at 105 proof, this first batch sets the stage with a classic, robust Brown-Forman nose full of cherry pie crust, toasted coconut, and vanilla. However, the palate takes a sharp turn into an incredibly dry and tannic profile. Lacking any real sweetness, it delivers bitter dark cacao, leather, and heavy oak tannins that linger on the back of the palate for a remarkably long finish. It is a complex, dry pour that demands your attention and pairs perfectly with a dark Maduro cigar. King of Kentucky Small Batch 2: Stepping up to 107.5 proof, Batch 2 shifts away from the dry tannins of the first pour and moves into darker, spicier territory. The nose is rich with dark fruits like dates, figs, and dried palm fruits. On the palate, it brings a leathery tobacco bite accompanied by a sizzling cinnamon and black pepper spice that dances across the tongue. It retains a dry character but balances the heavy oak with a fantastic, mouth-watering sizzle. King of Kentucky Small Batch 3: The heaviest hitter of the trio clocks in at 110 proof. This batch brings a completely different energy, opening with a bright, fresh nose of rich chocolate, citrusy lemon, and a distinct Coca-Cola note. The palate introduces a "faux sweetness"—a luscious cherry cola syrup flavor that perfectly masks the high proof while delivering a spicy, full-mouth tingle that coats the entire tongue beautifully. After sipping through the three official batches, Todd flexes his "Blendageddon" skills for the final pour of the night. By combining equal parts of Batch 1, Batch 2, and Batch 3, Todd creates a custom "Batch 4" that sits right around 107.5 proof. The guys evaluate this impromptu blend to see if combining the dry tannins, the dark fruit spice, and the sweet cherry cola notes results in a masterpiece that rivals the individual batches. Tune in to hear Jim and Todd's full tasting notes, their discussion on the secondary market values for these rare bottles, and their personal rankings of the King of Kentucky Small Batches. Which batch will take the crown? Grab your favorite glass, pour something special, and join us down the Bourbon Road. Cheers!
