New York don't feel the same today. The Knicks blowing Game 1 to the Indiana Pacers has Rory and Mal feeling a certain way. Once we get past that, we put a bow on Joey Bad@$$ vs the West Coast and recap our highly contentious Twitter Space. Kid Cudi testified against Diddy as the prosecution continues to build their case. Plus, a voicemail segment goes off the rails as Rory and Mal suggest a good date would be to fight another couple?!? #volumeSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Šárka se vrátila po skoro třítýdenní dovolené v Japonsku, odkud si přivezla kromě spousty suvenýrů taky neméně zážitků. A to i herních! Jakubovi ve Fight Clubu poví, co ji překvapilo, jaké bylo Nintendo muzeum v Kjótu, jak se spalo v kapslích a jestli už je ráda, že je doma.
Movie of the Year: 1999The Movies Are Chosen!64 Movies Enter, Only 16 Survive—Which 1999 Classics Make the Cut?1999 was a landmark year in film history, and the Movie of the Year podcast is here to determine the greatest movie of 1999. In this second part of our 1999 intro, the Taste Buds continue their tournament-style bracket to narrow 64 iconic films down to a powerful Sweet 16. If you're a fan of The Matrix, Fight Club, The Sixth Sense, or The Blair Witch Project, you won't want to miss what survives—and what doesn't.Missed Part I? Listen to the 1999 Intro, Part I to hear how we cut 96 movies down to 64.What Happens in This EpisodeUsing a mix of cultural impact, critical acclaim, personal bias, and how much a film's reputation has grown over time, the hosts battle through each matchup in a chaotic and often hilarious 64-seed bracket. There are no guests this time—just the regular crew unleashing their strongest takes and wildest arguments.Expect passionate defenses (Ryan refuses to let The Limey go quietly), surprise eliminations (can The Mummy survive the critics?), and more than one heated debate over what makes a movie "worthy" of lasting recognition. With unpredictable outcomes and sharp opinions, this is a high-energy episode full of movie love, bracket strategy, and very little agreement. What's at StakeBy the end of this episode, only 16 films will remain in the race to be crowned the best movie of 1999. The choices only get harder from here as we move closer to naming our official Movie of the Year.TL;DRThe Movie of the Year podcast cuts the 64 best films of 1999 down to a Sweet 16 in this intense, bracket-style elimination episode. Laughs, hot takes, and heartbreak guaranteed.Support the ShowIf you love movies from 1999 or just enjoy strong opinions and smart comedy, subscribe to the podcast and leave a review on Apple Podcasts or Spotify. In this episode of Bring the Pain, Dan and I are fresh out of the Fight Club of Pain, ready to deliver more fight theory and bets. With last week being a double up week, we have dug deep for a few bets that we think should hit bigger than the under +1000 bets we hit last week. I have a few tricks up my sleeve as usual, while Dan gets ready to serve us soup by the buckets. That means you'll have to stay till the end if you want those bets and our DFS lineups that will all help us slay the slates. Have a great day, everyone, and may the fights be with us. Moin, wir gucken an diesem Freitag schon mal aufs Wochenende, denn da ist ja einiges los bei uns in Hamburg Vorher aber sprechen wir darüber, was die Stadt unternehmen will, um gegen Wohnungslosigkeit vorzugehen. Movie of the Year: 19991999 Returns!96 Movies Enter, 16 Will SurviveThe Year Was 1999. Everyone Had a Discman. And Movies? Absolute Bangers.Back when the Taste Buds first covered the films of 1999 on Movie of the Year, they were young, naïve, and only picked eight movies. Eight! That's adorable. Now they're older, wiser, and full of regret—so they're returning to give one of the greatest years in movie history the full 16-slot bracket it deserves. That means eight more movies, a new perspective, and a much deeper dive. This premiere episode is where it all begins: they take 96 of the most iconic, beloved, and deeply weird movies of 1999, and start hacking our way down to the Sweet 16. Expect heartbreak. Expect joy. Expect someone to irrationally defend The Haunting like their life depends on it.In This Episode:The full list of 96 movies—from cult classics to forgotten flopsNostalgic tangents about Y2K, dial-up, and Taco Bell commercialsHeated debates about what counts as “Movie of the Year–worthy”Emotional breakdowns over the ones we had to cutThe 16 movies that will define the season—revealedWhy 1999?Because it gave us The Matrix, Fight Club, The Blair Witch Project, Being John Malkovich, 10 Things I Hate About You, and like 30 more that would be any other year's #1. It was the year movies peaked, and we're finally giving it the coverage it deserves—with twice the movies and at least three times the yelling.Tell Us We're Wrong:You definitely have opinions. Good.Hit us up on Instagram @yourpopfilter, or email us at popfilterco@gmail and let us know which movies should have made the cut, which ones absolutely shouldn't have, and how mad you are that we even considered Inspector Gadget.Don't Miss a Single Episode:Make sure you subscribe, rate, and review wherever you get your podcasts. That way, you'll be there for the whole ride—from 96 to the Final Four, all the way to the 1999 Movie of the Year. This one's gonna be a journey. A journey to find the single greatest movie out of all of the films of 1999.

This episode is a celebration of one of Hollywood's most intriguing and intense Actors
In this episode of Bring the Pain, Dan and I are fresh out of the Fight Club of Pain, ready to talk about this weekend's UFC 315 event on Saturday. With last week getting a little out of hand, we were still able to cash due to the fight theory we found while doing that episode. Two of those bets were upsets as we saw Reinier De Ridder plus Daniel Rodriguez help us cash on odds of +2300 and +2600. That not only made the weekend but also went perfectly with my two MLB betting articles at Dr. Roto, as well. So let us get back to work as we get ready to slay the competition and the sportbooks once again. Have a great day, everyone, and may the fights be with you. In this episode of Bring the Pain, I reviewed my articles from the weekend as well as the Fight Club of Pain from Thursday. We had another monumental episode as we discussed fight theory and how it could lead to a few upsets. That's when Dan and I recommend hedging with a couple of bets that had odds over +2300. Now that's a bold pick, but that's nothing bolder than what we have been delivering in the Fight Club as well as the Five-tastic Picks. I also talk about all of my football shows changing since I'll be doing UFC coverage from now on. That means you'll have to listen to my podcasts to get all of my plays as opposed to last year, where I rolled both shows out within 24 hours. In the end, I reveal what sets us apart from other fight shows since Dan was a former boxer, and I'm currently one of the top point fighters in my age group, in the Tri-State area. After that, I finished up things by talking about the Battle of Pennsylvania karate tournament that my team and I went to this weekend. This episode is a little longer, but I had a lot to cover, so buckle up because I was jacked up for this one since it was my birthday when I recorded this. When you hear "Fight Club," you may think of the movie where guys beat each other up for fun. But a local group of LGBTQ kickboxers has made its own club of the same name to learn self-defense. As St. Louis Public Radio's Abigail Wetteroff reports, these fighters are packing punches and fostering a safe space.
We're kicking off our 5-month Auteur Series on The WatchTower Film Podcast, and first up is none other than David Fincher. What better way to start than with Fight Club—a stylish, brutal, and endlessly debated classic that made soap cool and toxic masculinity cinematic. This week, we dig into Fincher's meticulous direction, the film's subversive themes, and whether Fight Club is misunderstood brilliance or dangerously cool chaos. Narrators, nihilism, and name-dropping IKEA—we're not pulling punches.First rule of Fincher Month? You absolutely talk about it.

In this episode of Bring the Pain, Dan and I are fresh out of the Fight Club of Pain to talk about this week's UFC fight night in Des Moines. The main event this Saturday features Cory Sandhagen vs. Deiveson Figueiredo, amongst other great fights that we will be covering. Like always, we'll be giving out live bets along with two DFS lineups so that we can slay the slates once again. That way, we can start building those bankrolls for the NFL season because you know we show no mercy when it comes to sportsbooks or seasonal content. To hear more, visit www.wethefifth.comMoynihan couldn't make it (we don't know where he is, but if you see a shirtless man yelling at a parking meter in lower Manhattan, please let us know). In his absence, Kmele and Welch cover a wide swath: alien oceans and scientific hype cycles, the collapse of local journalism, the rise of YouTube basketball nerds, and why Luka Dončić is the people's MVP. They also wade into darker waters—federal crackdowns on campus speech, student visa censorship, and the increasingly authoritarian posture of Trump 2.0.Plus: reader mail, a reluctant defense of David Hogg, a rant about scams and AI voice fraud, and a minor audio glitch that might actually be evidence of extraterrestrial life.
O tom bude diskutovat Jakub s Alešem.

Joining us on this episode is Trevor Branch, a professor at the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington, to discuss his paper, "Most “flight” baleen whale species are acoustically cryptic to killer whales, unlike “fight” species." The discussion details how baleen whales can be categorized as either "fight" species or "flight" species, based on their responses to killer whale attacks, their vocalizations and other behaviors. We discuss which baleen whales belong in the flight club and which fall into the flight club and why. He also shares with us information from another paper he authored on a related topic that unravels the mystery of the missing blue whale calves. In this episode of Bring the Pain, I review my articles from the weekend and how we did on the Fight Club of Pain. I talked about my picks for the week as well as what happened in some of the fights that had me screaming at the T.V. After that, I reviewed the bets from the Five-tastic Picks article and the DFS lineups that I put in the Subs-Only Discord, which cashed, giving us some extra money to start the week with. I thought UFC Kansas City was great, and the main event between Ian Machado-Garry vs. Carlos Prates definitely delivered for me. Even though I had Prates winning, I still loved watching him and Garry show why this may not be the time they met. Stay tuned for next Saturday because I will be out of town at a tournament, so you'll need to keep your eyes peeled for the next Fight Club show and my article. Have a great day, everyone, and may the fights be with you.

Looks like rain arrives around noon today & continues through the evening & overnight. Lawn is going to be an absolute jungle by Saturday! And speaking of lawns, we checked in to make sure you're mowing correctly. In the news this morning, a guilty verdict for a La Crosse man who forced a woman into prostitution to repay her debt to him, an update on the suspended commander at Fort McCoy, the WI DOT has revoked a bunch of licenses for car dealerships throughout the state, and more info on the NFL draft in Green Bay this weekend. In sports, the Brew Crew dropped another one to the Giants last night, the NBA playoffs continued, and the NHL playoffs also kept chugging along. Sad news out of the NFL as Bears legend and football Hall of Famer Steve "Mongo" McMichael passed away yesterday after battling ALS. Elsewhere in sports, we took a look at the upcoming schedule for the NBA & NHL playoffs, and we talked about Faith Kipyegon attempting to break the 4-minute mile barrier. Good luck, yo! Today is "National Pigs in a Blanket Day", so celebrate with some weenies in a crescent roll! We let you know what's on the boob tube today/tonight and talked about the upcoming Pee Wee Herman documentary. Plus, a cool story about a good Samaritan that helped a fellow runner during the Boston Marathon on Monday. It is "Hypothetical Thursday" today, and Jean's question for Brian was: "If you could experience any natural disaster & live, which one would you choose?" Brian's question for Jean was: "If you could cure cancer by pressing a button, but one random person would have to die, would you do it?" Office Cora joined us just after 8am to talk about what she's doing this weekend in the 715, and a former tennis legend is now trying out pickleball. In today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about some people trapped in a driverless car, a #FloridaMan who trapped a gator in a trash can, an update on the drunk postal worker that we talked about yesterday, a mortician in Texas who was allegedly experimenting on bodies, a fight between two strippers from rival clubs, and another educator running a student "Fight Club" at school.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

For their 195th episode, two imposter film critics, two murderous dads, and two non-Italian school teachers, Will Johnson and Don Shanahan, stay in the monumental year of 1999 for one more week with another cornerstone film. Lapped at the time by the likes of "The Matrix," "American Beauty," "Magnolia," and "Fight Club," stands the late Anthony Minghella's salacious "The Talented Mr. Ripley" starring the early white-hot coals of Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Philip Seymour Hoffman. Minghella's follow-up to his Oscar-winning "The English Patient," might have aged better than those previously mentioned 1999 bangers, and our guys are here to dote on its top-to-bottom lavishness.
