Story upload cycle - One new story added every Thursday I sometimes wonder, if it is the twinkle in there eye or the story, that fills the air with so much of Joy. These little souls, still so clean and pure, their smile so genuine and their laughters so free. It is their belief, that what the story says is possible, that actually feeds the story with a soul and an aura which dances around, and reverberate in their chuckles. - Stand up-They all jump up - He laughed Ha Ha Ha-They all go Ha Ha Ha - With a bow and arrow-They say nah, it was a machine gun and it went - and the sounds of the machine gun fills the room again - The lake was full of nectar-Nah, strawberry milk, chocolate milk etc - In the cave there were-Muffin, ladoos, and on they go mentioning the yummiest of treats. Suddenly, you see the ones who were sitting a bit behind, gradually moving up and forward, to get a closer look at your expression, as if to jump up, when the story directs. They are totally unconditioned, they still believe in miracles and that if it can be thought of, it can certainly happen. Telling a Story to the little ones is actually the best experience, there is no resistance of any kinds, as the word ‘impossible’ has still not been itched in their tender minds. They are like this soft clay, waiting to be shaped by the potter. The adventure starts with the little ones, every action enacted, every statement of anger, shouted out, every movement of the hands depicted and every character acted. - The pitch of the voice sometimes so loud, that hands cover their ears. - The descriptions sometimes a bit scary, that they cover their eyes - The voice sometimes so soft, that the room becomes totally silent. There have been times, when dressed up like a character, have narrated the whole story, sometimes jumped up myself to eat the Sun. As if the story-teller fades away and only the story remains, the children are transported to the land of possibilities. Then a sudden stop, to ask the morals, and the depth of the answers prove that, it does not have to be all serious for them to soak in the essence. The Scriptures are not beyond their understanding and no knowledge too deep for them to comprehend. When they get immersed in the story they would never forget neither the story nor the moral and values. Somewhere in their hearts, I am sure that message of love has been carved, which will re-surface, when others least expect it. Their spark of kindness, will someday light the whole world. The knowledge of the divine scriptures, wrapped in this absurd, fun and dramatic story-telling will live in their hearts forever.

Diwali Day 5 - Bhai Dooj

Play Episode Listen Later Nov 16, 2020 26:16

Day 5 - Bhai Dooj  This day is a celebration of the lovely relation of a brother and sister. There are various stories associated with it. The Story of Krishna and Subhadra The Story of Bali and Lakhmiji The Story of Mahavirji, King Nandivardhan and Sudarshana The story of Yama and Yamuna. Yama is the brother and Yamuna is the sister and how they meet on this day.  There are many folk stories of how a sister protects and saves here brother on this day as well. Points to Ponder: It can be Interpreted in a very lovely manner - the nurturing of brother and sister can be taken as universal love and brotherhood also. This shows that when one sees the light within, he/she is able to see the same light in all the living things.  This strengthens the spirit of love and brotherhood. The entire world becomes a Kutumbh. Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam - The entire world is one family. As in all of us shines only that One Divine.  A line of diyas, different shapes different forms and different colours - but that jyot that fire is the same.

Day 4 - Govardan Pooja This is associated with the story of Krishna where he suggested to the people of Vrindavan to pray to the Mountain and not to Lord Indra. What followed was anger of Indra and major destruction caused by him.  But, now Krishan protected all by lifting the Govardan parvat on his little finger.  Point to Ponder: This shows that when we take one step, God takes a 1000 steps towards us. We worked towards purification and we welcomed him into our hearts through Bhakti. Not only, did he give us Contentment, but now when our Indriyas (Indra) attack us, he will protect us from falling into the pit of darkness again.  A state of ‘Total Surrender'

Day 3 - Main Diwali (Amawasya Day/Lakhsmi Pooja) This is widely associated with the return of Ramji, Sitaji and Laxhmanji.  As the story goes, first Hanumanji was sent to Ayodhya to inform Bharat that Ramji was coming. People lit there homes and streets so that Hanumanji could find Ayodhya. After giving the message Hanumanji went back and got Ramji with him.  Point to Ponder: This shows that when one realise that we have the needed medicines (Dhanvantari) to heal the self and one starts to work and destroy the demons within (Narakasur), The divine light, that is the self starts shining again.  When one gets pure, bhakti (Hanumanji) comes and only when there is pure bhakti in ones heart, it has the capacity to summon the Lord (Ramji). Sitaji also comes, she is but Lakhsmi and Lakshmi is ‘Contentment'. On that day, we pray to the Goddess of Contentment - for the real richness is not wealth, but gratitude for what we already have.

You can listen to the story of Varaha Aavtar and how Mother Earth was saved on www.bhagwatforchildren.in To see what all came out of the Milky ocean other than the ear rings of Ma Aditi - You can refer to the story of Kurma Aavtar on www.bhagwatforchildren.in Day 2 - Main Diwali/ Choti Diwali (Narak Chaudas)  This is associated with the end of the Demon Naraka by his own Mother/ Parents Krishna and Satyabhama. Who were the re-incarnation of Vishnu (Varaha Avtar) and Bumi Devi.  Point to Ponder: This shows us that no one else can kill our demons for us and there is no one to blame for the negativity we harbour in our hearts. We gave birth to the vices and it is only we who can destroy them.

In the same lines listen to the story of Kurma Aavtar in www.bhagwatforchildren.in It has a different twist to the same story of the Churning of the Milky Ocean Day 1 - Dhanteras This is associated with the story of ‘Samundra manthan', Churning of the Milky Ocean. When the milky ocean was churned by the demons and devas, a lot of things came out of it. Lakhsmi ji and Dhanvantri both also came out of the same.  Dhanteras, is associated with the coming of Dhanvantari - The God of medicine.  Point to Ponder:  This indicates the internal churning and shows us that we have the power within to heal ourselves form the illness and darkness in us. The major illness being ‘Kaam, Krodha, Moha, Lobha, Ahenkar etc.'

A reminder, Our Gods like to have fun. They are so fun loving. Who said we have to be serious and have a sullen face when we pray to God. It can be a lot of fun to love and think about God.  Ganeshji wanted to come and meet you all again Children. So we said, ok Ganeshji, we will tell a Ganesh story again. There was this little town where everyone loved Ganeshji. They would always sing and make yummy food for Ganapati. Not only this, Ganapati would come and play with them all the time.  The mothers would chant shlokas for Ganpati and the children would sing songs. They were all so happy. Song - Come Oh Bulky stomach Ganapati Shloka - Ajam Nirvikalpam (2 para done) But there was a slight problem, there was this Big Gaj Mukh Asur, who would trouble them all the time. They really did not like him. He looked like Ganpati, but his was not kind like Ganpati he was mean and rude. One day he went to fight with Ganapati. He went straight to Kailash. There at his home, Ganeshji was preparing to sing for all the children who have had their birthdays from January till June and also for those who will have their birthday in July and August. Song - Janamdin midam (Sanskrit birthday song and happy birthday to you cha cha cha)  Now, Gaj Mukh Asur kept shouting and calling Ganpati to fight, there was a fight alright. A sweet fight, where enemies became friends forever, and Gaj Mukh Asur, become the loving Mooshak. The vehicle of Ganapati. Now now, there is a difference between a mouse and a Mooshak. It is not the same. If you see a mooshak, remember that Ganapati, yes our dear Ganesh is near by.  The morals are; ⁃ We can not make anyone like us by force.  ⁃ To be loved by others, we should first learn to give and love. ⁃ It is best to try and avoid a fight. ⁃ However, if we can't avoid it, we should be quick to forgive and become friends again. The most important, ⁃ Ganeshji, our dear Ganapati loves us and the minute we call him and say Ganpati Bappa Moriya he will come running to meet us.

When he became unstoppable, and started eating everything, all got scared and started praying and chanting. - Shuklambara dharm Vishnu (Shloka) Still he did not stop so the called out loudly for the greatest devotee of Ganeshji - Bappa Moriya. Mantra - Ganapati bappa moriya, mangal murti morya - Moriya re bappa moriya re But, Bappa moriya did not come to help them and calm Ganapatiji down, as he knew that Ganeshji was teaching Kuber a lesson. Finally, God Kuber rushed to Kailash and got a hand full of puffed rice filled with parvatiji's love. This made Ganeshji full and they all sang for him and he fell a sleep.  - Single Tusk Ganapati Ek Santa (Bhajan/Song) Bappa Moriya came and cuddled little Ganeshji and dropped him home to Shivji, Ma Parvathiji and brother Kartikeya So, the morals are, - When god is kind to us and gives us wealth, we should not use it to show off, but to give and share with everyone - The greatest wealth is love.
