This section of something I have been writing lately, has to do with Prabhupāda's statement about how chanting Harē Kṛṣṇa is forced meditation; I'm just interpreting that. I've included some other śāstra, which I'll just read to you briefly. In other words, it's a brief segment excerpt. At Nectar of Instruction, verse three. In his purport, Śrīla Prabhupāda tells how powerful such a prayer can be. "Devotional service," Prabhupāda writes, "is so pure and perfect that once having begun, one is forcibly dragged to ultimate success." In other words, for those who pray for Kṛṣṇa's help, Kṛṣṇa takes personal care and pulls them in the right direction. Anugraha, often translated as mercy, literally means "to grab and pull." Chanting japa invites Kṛṣṇa to grab and pull us to him. Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura, in his last bhajan in Śaraṇāgati, tells how the Holy Name abducts him, taking him directly to Kṛṣṇa. "The Holy Name is the bud of the flower of divine love, and it is the very abode of astonishing mellows. Such is the power he manifests that when his holy name starts to blossom a little further, it then reveals his own divine form and qualities. Thus my heart is abducted and taken directly to Kṛṣṇa. Blossoming fully, the flower of the holy name takes me to Vraj and reveals to me his own love dalliance. This name gives to me my own eternal spiritual body, keeps me right by Kṛṣṇa's side, and completely destroys everything related to this immortal frame of mine." Abduct means "the action of taking someone away by force." Kṛṣṇa, by his supreme powers, personally escorts those who chant his divine name back to his supreme abode. Kṛṣṇa's name is so kind that he helps even those who accidentally chant His names, what to speak of those who chant with love? As Śrīmad Bhāgavatam 11.2.55, The Yogendras say the Supreme Personality of God is so kind to the conditioned souls that if they call upon him by speaking his holy name, even unintentionally or unwillingly, the Lord is inclined to destroy innumerable sinful reactions in their hearts. https://vedabase.io/en/library/sb/11/2/55 ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #mantrameditation #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
“Lord Krishna saw 16,100 young princesses, who had been kidnapped and held captive there. When the princesses saw the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Krishna, enter the palace, they immediately became captivated by the beauty of the Lord and prayed for His causeless mercy. Within their minds, they decided to accept Lord Krishna as their husband without any hesitation.” (Krishna, The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Volume 2, Chapter 4)
We have books that have changed the world. We can name many others, but the fact is, books have been extant in human society for many years. When people decided to write, and they have been for generations—they would find any surface they could write on. In India, the chosen surface was palm leaves. Painstakingly, they would copy things onto these palm leaves using a stylus; they'd have to expose it to the sun so you get that darkened area. Isn't that beautiful handwriting? And how long would it take you to copy the Bhagavad Gita by hand? Audience: A year! That would take a while to generate enough to try to win the marathon for book distribution. So other people realized, as technology advanced, that books could be printed. The first thing was the Gutenberg Press. That's not it. There was a Gutenberg Press. A man named Gutenberg invented it to spread the Bible. You can trace Christianity and see how it expanded through the distribution of the printed book. Then came other printing presses. This one is a replica. It's a picture of the kind of printing press that Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur brought to Calcutta and kept running 24/7, along with two others. They had them lined up near the altar because he kept them near the altar to show that they were also Deities. Anybody here from Ohio? One, two. You know where these printing presses came from? Ohio is a good export state. These printing presses came from Ohio. He shipped them all the way to India. And Prabhupada had expressed to us, when he started his mission, that he was following the instruction of his spiritual master, whom he asked several times for direction about what kind of service he would like him to do. I'm wearing a wristband right now. It says, "If you ever get money, print books." Who said that? Srila Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakur. And where did he say it to our founder-acharya? At Radha Kund! At that sacred place of Radha Kund, our Prabhupada had asked Srila Bhakti Siddhanta, "What can I do?" And Srila Bhakti Siddhanta said that, "I've got this big temple, the Bhagbazar marble temple, and I wish now that I could take the marble from that temple, sell it, and print some books." Then he said, "If you ever get money, print books." Prabhupada said, "I took this from his mouth that he was very fond of books." So when he began his campaign, he extended that same mood to all of us, and it remains. Now, I'm going to teach you a few points that have come by Krishna's mercy to the minds and hearts of devotees who have been distributing books for many years that will save you a lot of time and grief. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality

What you are really asking is, how do you know if it's Krishna's plan or if you are doing something wrong? So that you may not know immediately. As Radhika Raman pointed out in his class about prayers, he said that when Hiraṇyakaśipu was trying to kill Prahlāda, one of the ways he tried to do that was to throw him over a cliff. He said, “Kṛṣṇa caught him at the bottom, not at the top.” And in a similar way, as we go through various situations in our life, we wonder whether they are providential, they are an intervention by God, or because I messed up somehow. At first, we may not know. We may have to have faith that Kṛṣṇa will catch us at the bottom. But that's why we have 'tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo,' when one is able to position oneself in such a way as to accept whatever comes. This is a categorical statement: 'tat te 'nukampāṁ su-samīkṣamāṇo bhuñjāna evātma-kṛtaṁ vipākam.' Just accept categorically that whatever is happening is by Kṛṣṇa's arrangement. And then you may come to know, as Prabhupāda in his lecture on Śrīla Bhaktisiddhānta Sarasvatī Ṭhākur's disappearance day, he did several, but in one of them, he's talking about the various setbacks he had in trying to follow his spiritual master, and then he's pointing out, “But look, this is what it brought me to.” And he had a series of statements prefaced by, “Who knew? Who knew that my coming to America would result in this? Who knew?” And Prabhupāda had pointed out in his lecture that he had reversals. He lost his business, he was gored by a cow, he was kicked out of his league of devotees, and so forth. He was thinking back, “Who knew? Who knew? Who knew what? This was Kṛṣṇa's plan.” So it's difficult when these things come up, and we have to fortify ourselves by hearing śāstra and also take the shelter of godbrothers.I was once in managing a project.. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
A godbrother and friend asked me, as we sat down together for lunch one day at Govardhan Ashram. "Yes, please," I replied. He leaned toward me, placing his left hand on the floor. "Krishna, the Supreme Personality of Godhead," he continued, 'is not only all-powerful, but he's also all-merciful." He went on, 'If he were all-powerful but not all-merciful, we'd be in trouble. And if he were all-merciful but not all-powerful, then what could he do for us?' His point was that Krishna is all-good. He wants to help us in every way, and he is the one person who can help us. "Then why isn't my life better than it is?" people often ask. Srila Prabhupada explains, 'The sun is equal toward all, and one simply has to take advantage of it. The sunshine is available, but if we close our doors and want to keep ourselves in darkness, that is our decision. Similarly, Krishna is everywhere. Krishna is for everyone, and Krishna is ready to accept us as soon as we surrender," Prabhupada wrote, 'But how can I surrender? How may I take advantage of the sunshine, and exactly what's in it for me?' are often the next questions. The answer is that chanting your daily 16 rounds of japa places you directly in the sunshine of Krishna's grace. And here is a summary list of what's in it for those who do, and it's based on the verse from the Padma Purana. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Pierre Bezukhov's captivity in War and Peace leads him to a discovery straight out of yogic wisdom: happiness is within, suffering can transform into blessing, and the company of a saintly soul changes everything. Raghunath and Kaustubha unpack Tolstoy's descriptions of Pierre's awakening through Platon Karataev and connect them with the bhakti truths of the Bhagavad-Gītā and the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. From Pierre's realization that “Life is everything. Life is God” to baby Krishna's playful liberation of two fallen demigods, the timeless message shines through—what looks like misery may be the doorway to divine joy. In this first part of my conversation with Krishna Lee, I reflect on what it means to see one of my former athletes grow, evolve, and accomplish so much. Krishna shares her journey from growing up in Kansas City, where sports were woven into her family life, to becoming a multi-time All American and Big 12 champion at Mizzou. She talks about the impact of her coaches, especially how they invested in her as a person, not just as an athlete. That influence shaped her into someone who competed at the highest levels, earned a spot in the Mizzou Hall of Fame, and even reached the Olympic Trials. We also dive into the challenges that come when competition ends and identity shifts. Krishna speaks honestly about those moments of transition and how coaching gave her a new way to stay connected to the game. Whether she was working with young athletes in karate and swimming or returning to Mizzou to coach throwers, she found purpose in helping others succeed. Her move into athletic administration and Parks and Recreation continued that mission, showing her commitment to building environments where athletes could grow without burning out. This part of the conversation highlights the resilience it takes to keep moving forward when one chapter closes and another begins.
To the point of what about giving up one's home, going to the forest, and fasting most of the time? The answer is the process of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa Mahāmantra doesn't require these. And the answer is in Prabhupāda's letter, where he uses the phrase "forced meditation." Force means power, and "forced" means pushed by a power greater than oneself. The chanting of Hare Kṛṣṇa is infused with Kṛṣṇa's unlimited powers. What's more, when chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa with attention, Kṛṣṇa, the all-powerful, pushes us along. Consider how when someone forces us to do something, that person is more powerful than we are. When someone forces us to do something, we are not doing it voluntarily. For example, a mother may force her child to go to school. Consider the phrase, "Clyde's mother forced him to go to his first day of school, as he was at first unwilling." Clyde's mother, in this sense, is more powerful than Clyde, and she makes him go to school for his own good. When we chant the mahāmantra, we invite Kṛṣṇa to push us forward on the spiritual path, even if we are unwilling. Those who chant japa avail themselves of Kṛṣṇa's power. The Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra is a prayer requesting The Lord to engage us in His spiritual service. Getting out of the material world, the world regulated by Māyā Devī, is not easy. We are stuck, not just in her orbit, but we are imprisoned in her world. Devī-dhām—a place of torture—that is impossible to escape. Who will intervene on our behalf? Who will save us? Kṛṣṇa will. But more precisely, Kṛṣṇa's names have appeared as our liberator. Our chanting of the Hare Kṛṣṇa mantra, therefore, is our cry for Kṛṣṇa's help, recognizing that he is not only more powerful than we are but he is also the master of Māyā Devī. What's more, he knows better than we what is good for us. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #makejapagreatagain #mantrameditation #chantharekrishnaandbehappy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
In the context of bhakti, we see in the Sixth Canto of the Bhagavatam and elsewhere, as one of the ācāryas has mentioned, this principle of accumulation of bhakti sukṛti in circumstances where one is not fully aware of what one is doing. For instance, one may hear the chanting of The Hare Krishna mahāmantra. Śrīla Rūpa Gosvāmī very clearly says, "yad-ābhāso ‘py udyan kavalita-bhava-dhvānta-vibhavo dṛśaḿ tattvāndhānām api diśati bhakti-praṇayinīm" (Nāmāṣṭakam, verse 3). And that is, if you hear, even those who are in ignorance of what the Holy Name is, or why people are chanting The Holy Name. Did you see anybody like that last night? How many, as a percentage, had no idea what was going on? In other words, they knew something was happening. They just didn't know what it was. So what percentage? 95%? So those people are called by Rūpa Gosvāmī --"tattvāndhānām." They don't know tattva. They have no idea of what that is. But Hare Krishna is directly the Lord, and therefore there is a dawning of bhakti in their heart that comes from the ābhāsa—just the indirect rays of The Holy Name. And such people then can see or experience for themselves in their hearts the truth of bhakti, an amazing statement in and of itself. As is mentioned in the Sixth Canto of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam in the section of Ajāmila, in Prabhupāda's purport, he said, "Such encounters are recorded and counted." And so there's a little book, and it goes in the book. And Prabhupāda puts it and gives a different metaphor. He said, "Every living being has a bank account in his or her heart, and every time you come in contact with Krishna, the devotees, then there's a deposit." Of course, we have to be careful, because we may think that it means it doesn't matter how we disseminate Krishna consciousness; it's some sort of inoculation by force. Because there is a way in which, if we are artful and gentle in the ways that we present Krishna consciousness and teach according to people's cultural and psycho-physiological natures, then their hearts will be more open to hearing and taking in, and they'll gain more sukṛti. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose
“If something makes Krishna Happy and me unhappy, that becomes my greatest happiness. And if something makes me happy but makes Krishna unhappy, that becomes my greatest unhappiness.” The post Radhastami Talk 2025 appeared first on Radha Krishna Temple in Utah.
You might think, "Where do we go from here, where we are now, to there, somewhere near there?" Of course, we hold these subject matters high above our heads. We aspire, after first trying to deserve. This is the instruction Srila Prabhupada gave in Los Angeles. I remember 1976: "First deserve, then desire, never aspire." What does that mean? "First deserve," engage in Krishna's service, capture the attention of Krishna, capture the attention of Srimati Radharani, and then you can desire. Yes, "Let me serve them for their pleasure." But "never aspire." What does he mean, "never aspire?" "First deserve, then desire, never aspire." He explained, from your low position—he was quite graphic—"From your monkey position, don't jump to the top of the tree." First deserve, and then develop some genuine spiritual desire. But never, from your position on the ground, aspire that you want to jump to the top of the tree. So I wanted to share with you some realizations I've had about the mysticism, the Gauranga mysticism behind ISV. Welcome to the ‘Krishna Hamal's Australian Story' podcast series, where we journey through the remarkable life of Krishna Hamal—an economist, mentor, and community leader. In this first episode, Hamal takes us back to 1979, sharing how a scholarship led him from Nepal to the regional city of Armidale, New South Wales. Parvez and Omar finally return after the longest hiatus in the show's history! They bring us up to speed with all the going-ons in their lives from new jobs, moves, kids graduating to new kids being born! As the show returns so does the show's guest! David Coolidge returns to discuss his groundbreaking new book, Hindu Bhakti Through Muslim Eyes. The book places the Caitanya Vaiṣṇava tradition—devotion to Krishna—into conversation with Islam, tracing a rich millennium-long trajectory of Muslim reflection on Hindu theology and spirituality. The discussion balances between diving deep into the book while at the same time offering a layperson's perspective to the theology and basic tenants of the faith. The discussion is deeply enriched by David's ability to interweave analogs from his own Islamic theological, ethical, and liturgical commitments. This offers not only a unique perspective but a remarkable example of inter-religious scholarship. About David Coolidge David earned his PhD from the Graduate Theological Union in 2023 and serves as Research Faculty at Bayan Islamic Graduate School. David Coolidge was born in Chicago, and raised in Kenilworth, IL. He has a BA from Brown University and an MA from Princeton University. He converted to Islam in 1998. From 2008-2013 he worked as a Muslim chaplain, first at Dartmouth College and then again at Brown. From 2014-2017 he taught an undergraduate course on Islamic law and ethics at New York University. Highly recommend folks go and listen to David's first appearance on the show where he discusses his unique and deeply moving journey to Islam as well as within the Islamic Tradition.

Our message today is that “if you can dream it, Krishna can do it.” Prabhupada was talking about the freedoms enjoyed by Narada Muni, “Every living being is anxious for full freedom because that is his transcendental nature. Send us a textWe had some technical problems with this episode but it is up and running now! In this richly oiled and myth-soaked episode of Third Eye Roll, Dr. Justine Lemos and guest Emily McConnell stir the pot (literally) on Ayurveda's most infamous process—Panchakarma. Forget juice cleanses and detox fads; Panchakarma is more like spiritual surgery, where enemas, oil baths, and nasal therapies become ritual acts of purification. We dive into the five traditional actions, with a special focus on Basti (medicated enemas) and Nasya (nasal oil therapy)—their history, their very real emotional effects, and why they're often misunderstood. Expect side-eye at colonics, love notes to sesame oil, and some straight talk about Monster energy drinks and colon health. And because this is Third Eye Roll, we weave in the myth of Samudra Manthan, the cosmic churning of the ocean that first produced poison before yielding nectar. Shiva and Parvati's wisdom on transmuting toxins becomes a mirror for how Panchakarma transforms body, mind, and soul. Along the way, you'll get unexpected fashion tips (oil-soaked loincloths, anyone?), movie picks (think Alien as a metaphor for cleansing), and the soundtrack of Gregorian chants meets Krishna das. This isn't detox—it's death, rebirth, and nectar.Support the show

In a world that floods the mind with distraction and noise, Bhakti Yoga teaches a sacred alternative: reclaim the inner world through smarana—the practice of intentional, emotionally infused remembrance. In this episode, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore how what we think about—over and over again—shapes who we become. Drawing from the Bhagavad Gita, the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam, and a quote from self-help pioneer Earl Nightingale, they examine how the bhakti tradition trains the mind through focused repetition and deep feeling. With reflections on Mother Yaśodā's love for Krishna, and the esoteric path of Rāgānuga Bhakti, this episode opens the door to a meditation practice unlike any other. Whether you're new to yoga philosophy or seeking to deepen your inner life, this conversation offers a clear and powerful invitation: take your inner world seriously—because it becomes your reality. When Brahmā saw this little child in Vṛndāvan playing with his friends, some of them were stealing food from one another, putting it in their mouths, taking it out, and giving it to another, like kids do sometimes, he thought, “Why is everybody making a big deal? This couldn't be the Supreme Personality of Godhead.” So he played a trick and stole the calves and cowherd boys. Kṛṣṇa re-manifested them exactly the way they were, and Brahmā became extremely bewildered and offered prayers to Kṛṣṇa. One of the first prayers, which is very famous, is: jñāne prayāsam udapāsya namanta eva jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir ye prāyaśo 'jita jito 'py asi tais tri-lokyām (SB 10.14.3) You're going to be happy to hear this, because in this verse spoken by Lord Brahmā, he says, “Forget about trying to understand God with your intellect, completely forget.” He's the smartest person—he got 16 million on his SAT—and he said, “Forget about trying to understand God with your intellect.” Jñāne prayāsam udapāsya! 'Jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām.' Jīvanti means, “If all you do is stay alive somehow or other so you can make it to the Bhāgavatam class and hear about Kṛṣṇa, if that's all you do, “What do you do?” “I just try to stay alive.” “Why?” “Because I want to go to the class. I just want to hear about Kṛṣṇa.” 'Jīvanti san-mukharitāṁ bhavadīya-vārtām.' He said, then your life was perfect. You don't have to do anything else. And then Brahmā says: 'Sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir.' This means you don't have to quit your day job. No moving to the Himalayas. "Sthāne sthitāḥ.” Sthitāḥ means, “Stay, stand, don't move. Just stay in your position and hear about Kṛṣṇa and worship that vibration with your body, mind, and words.” And then he says something remarkable and that is just by that simple process of bhakti—of hearing about Kṛṣṇa, revering the transcendental vibration, the līlā of Kṛṣṇa, the instructions of Kṛṣṇa in the Bhagavad Gītā— 'sthāne sthitāḥ śruti-gatāṁ tanu-vāṅ-manobhir ye prāyaśo 'jita jito 'py asi tais tri-lokyām." Kṛṣṇa is known as ajita, which means he's unconquerable, but he becomes conquered by the love of his devotees. He's submissive to his devotees' love, and one develops this love by hearing about Kṛṣṇa from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

This is bhakti, how The Lord can become one's little child and drink breast milk from the mother. And our ācāryas say, "Yes, Nanda Mahārāja was very fortunate. He became the father of Kṛṣṇa, but Yaśodā is the most fortunate because Kṛṣṇa never left her. He was with her 24 hours a day as a child. No one was closer to Kṛṣṇa than Yaśodā." In the same section of the Bhāgavatam, we hear the admonition that was much repeated by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and His teachings. When He went to South India, He talked to Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa. Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa was in the Rāmānuja-sampradāya, the Śrī-Sampradāya, and they were having a discussion—Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa, the great ācārya there. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu was telling him, "Actually, Kṛṣṇa is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, you worship as Lord Nārāyaṇa." So Veṅkaṭa wanted to know, "Well, how can you say He's the Supreme Personality of Godhead?" And Caitanya Mahāprabhu asked him, "How is it that the consort of Lord Nārāyaṇa came to Vṛndāvana and performed severe austerities to enter into the rāsa dance?" And Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa said, "You please tell me." It's because the quality of devotion in Vṛndāvana is topmost. There is no more intimate relationship between Kṛṣṇa and His devotees than in Śrī Vṛndāvana, and of all the devotees, Mother Yaśodā has the most intimate connection with Kṛṣṇa in His childhood. And therefore Śukadeva Gosvāmī says: "nāyaṁ sukhāpo bhagavān dehināṁ gopikā-sutaḥ jñānināṁ cātma-bhūtānāṁ yathā bhaktimatām iha (SB 10.9.21)." And this is the verse quoted by Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu to Veṅkaṭa Bhaṭṭa from the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. There are many approaches. One may try to cultivate knowledge to understand God; one may perform yoga, haṭha Yoga, aṣṭāṅga Yoga; one may be a karmī, trying to position oneself in the material world in such a way as to have the best of everything. And Śukadev says, "None of these ways will attract Kṛṣṇa. Only simple bhakti will. "Nāyaṁ sukhāpo bhagavān dehināṁ gopikā-sutaḥ jñānināṁ cātma-bhūtānāṁ yathā bhaktimatām iha." In this world, only by bhakti, following in the footsteps of the residents of Vṛndāvana,... This is later written by Rūpa Gosvāmī, the process of devotional service: "tan-nāma-rūpa-caritādi-sukīrtanānu- smṛtyoḥ krameṇa rasanā-manasī niyojya tiṣṭhan vraje tad-anurāgī-janānugāmī kālaṁ nayed akhilaṁ ity upadeśa-sāram (NOI 8)." He said, "This is the essence of all advice. One should take to the practice of hearing, chanting, and remembering, etc. Śravaṇam, kīrtanaṁ Viṣṇu, smaraṇaṁ, pāda-sevanaṁ, arcanaṁ, vandanaṁ, dāsyaṁ, sakhyaṁ, ātma-nivedanam —the nine processes of devotional service continuously. Then one will come to appreciate the devotional service of the residents of Vṛndāvana." And when one develops this appreciation for the devotion of the devotees in Vṛndāvana, one may become intrigued by that. This is the beginning of one's relationship with Kṛṣṇa in a particular mood. This cannot be artificially stimulated. It comes only by copious hearing over many lifetimes to come to this position of bhakti. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/ https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/ https://thefourquestionsbook.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------

Krishna Surendra is the CEO of HR Cloud, a human resources software company that offers tools for recruiting, onboarding, employee engagement, performance management, HRIS, and internal communications — all designed to automate HR processes and enhance workplace culture. He joined HR Cloud in 2016 as Director of Engineering, advanced to Chief Technology Officer in 2018, and took on the role of CEO in 2021. With a background in computer science, he brings deep technical expertise and leadership to his role. Under Krishna's direction, HR Cloud continues to scale its offerings in employee engagement, onboarding automation, and HRIS solutions to drive productivity and retention in organizations. In this episode… Many organizations struggle to deliver a seamless and engaging employee experience from hiring to offboarding. Generic HR tools often fail to adapt to unique workflows, resulting in inefficient processes, poor communication, and disengaged staff. How can companies modernize their HR systems to be both efficient and deeply human-centered? Krishna Surendra, an expert in HR technology, shares strategies for building customizable, automated HR workflows that span the entire employee lifecycle. Krishna emphasizes the importance of gathering ongoing customer feedback, prioritizing modules based on real demand, and integrating with existing systems rather than reinventing every feature. He also outlines practical ways to increase engagement — such as two-way communication channels, spot recognition with rewards, and adapting solutions for unique use cases like deskless workers or younger staff who prefer SMS notifications — while avoiding common onboarding mistakes like failing to document processes or track task completion. In this episode of Inspired Insider, Dr. Jeremy Weisz interviews Krishna Surendra, CEO of HR Cloud, about transforming the employee journey through adaptable HR software. Krishna discusses using customer-driven product development, enhancing engagement through recognition and feedback tools, and integrating with payroll systems. He also shares insights on prioritizing new features, addressing unique client needs, and lessons learned from build vs. buy decisions.
What really makes us happy? In this episode, we draw from Yale professor Dr. Laurie Santos' research — featured on the Rich Roll Podcast — to uncover four surprising truths about happiness: the arrival fallacy, the bronze medal effect, how comfort can backfire, and why giving beats self-focus. What's remarkable is how these modern insights echo wisdom preserved in the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. The yogic texts long ago revealed that happiness and distress both come to us inevitably, and that wise souls redirect their energy toward devotion. In bhakti, this opens the door to a transcendental joy far beyond worldly ups and downs — most beautifully seen in the eternal love between Krishna and the residents of Vrindavan. How would you feel if you were cursed to die in seven days? Not very good. But Parīkṣit Mahārāj said, ‘Let the snake-bird, or whatever magical creature this boy has conjured, bite me at once. All I want is to go on hearing the transcendental vibration about Kṛṣṇa.' He wasn't disturbed by it. In fact, there's a list of symptoms given in the Madhya-līlā of the Śrī Caitanya Caritāmṛta, which is the teachings and pastimes of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu. That's another book besides the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. It's a must-have, by the way. And within that, Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu teaches Sanātana Gosvāmī the tenets of bhakti-yoga. In one section, he describes what symptoms one would have when one becomes spiritually advanced. He gives Parīkṣit Mahārāj as an example of a highly advanced person. The first symptom of the heart being spiritually enlivened, otherwise known as bhāva, is that he didn't mind being cursed. It was called kṣāntir, a kind of immediate forgiveness of the situation. He said, ‘You're cursed.' A little boy cursed you, and it's effective. So it's coming. There's a snake-bird coming for you. And he said, ‘Let it come. It's the arrangement of the Lord.' In fact, his opinion was that this is Kṛṣṇa's arrangement for me. He said, "I was a king. I was so attached to all my things. How else would I have given them up? But now I have an excuse. A perfect excuse." Who else got an excuse in the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam to walk out on his family? Vidura. Vidura was not cursed, but he was insulted severely by Duryodhana. You remember this? Vidura was trying to stand up for the Pāṇḍavas, and Duryodhana said, ‘Who is this guy, anyway? He's not even full-blooded, part of our family. He's a mutt. Get him out of here! I'll beat him up! I'll beat him out of here!' In that very moment, Vidura felt, ‘This is Kṛṣṇa's opening for me to go out and just be absorbed and go on pilgrimage.' This is what you do when nothing else works out. You just go to the Dhām. He went on pilgrimage for many years. He walked outside that palace, laid down his bow and arrow right on the doorstep, and then he was unrecognizable after that. No one could tell where he was, or they couldn't see him anymore. So, the times in which we're tested most deeply in this world are the times when we can understand, 'How spiritually advanced am I?' One of the first symptoms is called kṣāntir. It means the heart is forgiving. It's like, 'Okay, it's Kṛṣṇa's arrangement.' This is embodied in one of the most famous verses that we're going to visit today, in the 14th chapter of the Śrīmad Bhāgavatam. “Prabhupada Picks” refers to a selection of verses from the 10th Canto of the Srimad Bhagavatam that Srila Prabhupada memorized himself and quoted very frequently in his teachings. The genius of the bhakti tradition's sacred texts is how they reveal the loftiest yogic and theological truths through the sweetest intimacy. The Cosmic Source described in the Vedas and the Absolute Truth of the Vedānta Sūtra is revealed in the Bhagavatam as Krishna, a mischievous, playful child—the most adorable boy. When Mother Yaśodā peers into Krishna's mouth, she doesn't just see her son—she sees the entire universe. In this paradox of infinite divinity wrapped in childlike charm, bhakti uncovers a truth both cosmic and deeply personal. Rumi spoke of a field beyond right and wrong — and in Krishna's playful pastimes we discover how breaking the rules can reveal the highest good. How can Krishna, the Supreme Good, also be a thief, a liar, a womanizer, and even a killer? Drawing on Rumi's mystical poetry and the Upanishadic vision of fullness, Raghunath and Kaustubha explore how Krishna's so-called immorality reveals truths that transcend all dualities. Join us as we uncover the paradox of divinity, where Krishna's playful rascality leads us to the soul's true resting place: beyond the world's petty dualities, in the harmony of divine love. What does it mean to take action without attachment—especially when your Dharma feels messy, uncomfortable, or misunderstood? In this episode, I dive deep into Chapter 3 of the Bhagavad Gita, where Krishna teaches Karma Yoga—the path of selfless action—to a conflicted Arjuna. We explore how to navigate the tension between duty and desire, and why authentic action is essential for both spiritual growth and collective harmony. I break down:
Reality is stranger than we think, and this episode may rewire how you think about what's possible. Raghunath and Kaustubha draw surprising connections between groundbreaking discoveries in quantum physics and the apparently impossible events described in ancient yoga texts like the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam. Blaise Pascal's “infinite sphere” meets Mother Yaśodā's jaw-dropping vision of the entire universe in little Krishna's mouth — and even the science of quantum superposition and entanglement finds its place in the conversation. The takeaway? The laws of physics you learned in school might only apply to a tiny corner of reality.
