Dr Ramesh Chandra Sinha is a 1962-batch IAS officer whose six-decade career produced some of the most consequential infrastructure projects in modern India. As Vice Chairman and Managing Director of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) under PWD Minister Nitin Gadkari, he built India's first world-class expressway — the 95-km Mumbai-Pune Expressway — completing it in 36 months at a cost of Rs 1,600 crore, which was Rs 50 crore below the MSRDC's own estimate and roughly half of Reliance's competing bid that came with 78 concessions. He raised Rs 2,400 crore from the open market through non-convertible debentures on an equity base of just Rs 5 crore, creating a financing model that other states later sought to replicate.Alongside the Expressway, he delivered 50-plus flyovers across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region with an average construction time of around 30 months, along with numerous rail over-bridges and town bypasses.Earlier, as Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO under Chief Minister Sharad Pawar, he transformed Vashi from a settlement of 30,000 people into the foundation of Navi Mumbai — building its dam, water supply, six-lane road to Mumbai, railway connectivity (with CIDCO funding 67 percent of the capital cost), modern railway stations, and the iconic Seawoods NRI Complex which sold out worldwide in nine days.He also developed New Nashik, New Aurangabad, New Nanded and the district headquarters of Sindhudurg, and engineered the shifting of Mumbai's wholesale market to Navi Mumbai. At the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation, he turned a loss-making PSU profitable and launched the famed half-hourly ASIAD bus service between Mumbai and Pune in the face of organised taxi-union resistance. In Andhra Pradesh, under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, he played a key role in conceptualising Cyberabad, the Visakhapatnam SEZ, the Nagarjuna Sagar water supply system for Hyderabad, the Hyderabad bypass, the biopharma zone, the Hyderabad Metro, the Krishna port and the international airport. As Vice Chairman and Managing Director of MADC, he led the MIHAN multi-modal cargo hub and airport project at Nagpur. As Aurangabad Collector during the 1992 riots, his decisiveness earned him the nickname "Simh."At All India Radio earlier in his career, he was instrumental in bringing FM radio to India in 1977. His biography, Transforming India from Within, was released in 2024.

Thinking about doing a yoga teacher training—but not sure how to choose the right one? In this bonus FAQ-style episode, I'm breaking down the questions I hear all the time—from "Will I actually finish?" to "Do I have to want to teach?"—and giving you a grounded, honest framework to make the best decision for YOU. Because not all trainings are created equal… and the difference isn't just curriculum—it's support, structure, and how you're held through the experience. We'll explore:
Krishna Das reflects on Maharaj-ji's teaching that all names, forms, and journeys lead to the same truth. This week on Pilgrim Heart, Krishna Das talks about:Neem Karoli's teaching: Sub Ek (all one)Following the heart and our own individual path to GodA dream message that Krishna Das had from Maharaj-jiDeveloping communication skills for improved relationshipsHow being hard on ourselves makes it difficult to offer compassion to othersPutting effort into daily practice Living with ease and being with all experiences, good and bad“Maharaj-ji said one thing to us that was life-changing: sub ek. All one. Many names, many forms, many paths, all one. Different cultures call it by different names, they conceive of it differently, but underneath the thoughts it's all the same…What Jesus realized is the same thing that the yogis in India realized, that the Zen Buddhists, Sufis, Muslims realized. They don't get stuck in the difference of the forms. It's just names; they're all the names of the same thing which is our own true nature.” –Krishna DasAbout Krishna Das:Layering traditional Hindu kirtan with instantly accessible melodies and modern instrumentation, Grammy nominee Krishna Das has been called yoga's “rock star.” With a remarkably soulful voice that touches the deepest chord in even the most casual listener, Krishna Das – known to friends, family, and fans as simply KD – has taken the call-and-response chanting out of yoga centers and into concert halls, becoming a worldwide icon and the best-selling chant artist of all time. His album ‘Live Ananda' (released January 2012) was nominated for a Grammy in the Best New Age album category.KD spent the late '60s traveling across the country as a student of Ram Dass, and in August 1970, he finally made the journey to India, which led him to Ram Dass' own beloved guru, Neem Karoli Baba, known to most as Maharaj-ji. Krishna Das now travels the world sharing his kirtan practice and wonderful stories of his life, of Maharaji-ji, of his life on the Path and discusses bringing chanting into our lives through retreats and workshops. To date, KD has released 15 well-received albums, most recently Trust in the Heart released in October 2017.MORE INFORMATION and OFFERINGS VISIT: https://krishnadas.com/ KRISHNA DAS ON SOCIAL: FACEBOOK: facebook.com/KrishnaDasMusic INSTAGRAM: instagram.com/krishnadasmusic YOUTUBE: / krishnadasmusic X: @krishnadas #KrishnaDasSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Kids’ Stories: Fairy Tales, Folk Tales and Myths | BabyBus | Free
Imagine sneaking a magical baby out of a super-strict prison in a massive storm, only for a giant, thousand-headed snake to pop out of the river and act as your umbrella!
What if the villains of history, mythology, religion, and politics were never the real villains? In this thought-provoking episode of Kaka Balli Punjabi Podcast, we challenge some of the most powerful narratives ever told and ask a controversial question: Who decides who is a hero and who is a villain? From Mahabharata and Ramayana to world history, religion, politics, psychology, and modern pop culture, we explore how society creates heroes, villains, and enemies. Is history really written by the winners? Are we taught facts, or are we taught narratives? We discuss Duryodhan, Karna, Krishna, Ravana, Aurangzeb, Churchill, Hitler, Thanos, and many other figures who continue to divide opinion. Some are remembered as heroes, some as monsters, but what happens when we examine their stories from a different perspective? In the Mahabharata, was Duryodhan simply a power-hungry villain, or was he a loyal friend who stood by Karna when society rejected him because of caste? If Krishna is considered divine, why did he allow or encourage tactics that broke the rules of war? Can the end ever justify the means? In the Ramayana, Ravana is remembered as one of the greatest villains in Indian mythology. But what happens when we look at the story through the lens of family honor, power, pride, and perspective? Does every story have two sides? We also discuss the idea that many of history's most hated figures genuinely believed they were doing the right thing. From Aurangzeb to modern political leaders, how often do people commit questionable actions while believing they are serving a greater cause? The conversation then moves beyond mythology into modern history and geopolitics.• Is America really the world's police?• How do governments use propaganda?• How are wars justified?• Why are some leaders celebrated while others are condemned?• Does power influence morality? We explore the idea that public perception is often shaped by media, politics, religion, education systems, and cultural narratives. The same person can be viewed as a hero by one group and a villain by another. The podcast also examines religion, faith, heaven, hell, divine punishment, and the human tendency to believe that the religion we are born into is the ultimate truth. Are beliefs chosen, or are they inherited?Beyond history and religion, we look at fictional villains such as Thanos and characters from The Boys. Why do modern audiences increasingly relate to villains? Why do so many fictional villains have understandable motivations? Why are morally grey characters becoming more popular than traditional heroes? We also discuss an uncomfortable truth: villains may play an essential role in human progress.Throughout history, crisis has often created innovation.World wars accelerated medicine, engineering, aviation, and technology. The Cold War accelerated space exploration, computing, and the digital revolution.Periods of famine and hardship led to agricultural breakthroughs and large-scale reforms. In nature, predators force prey to evolve. Pressure creates adaptation. Competition creates growth. Could the same principle apply to human civilization?Perhaps villains, rivals, enemies, and crises act as society's ultimate stress tests. This episode is not about glorifying violence, hatred, dictators, or harmful actions. It is about questioning assumptions, challenging narratives, exploring different perspectives, and encouraging critical thinking.Topics Covered:• Heroes vs Villains• Duryodhan and Karna• Krishna and Mahabharata• Ravana and Ramayana• Bhagavad Gita• Aurangzeb• Churchill vs Hitler• America and Global Politics• Propaganda and Media Narratives• Religion and Faith• Heaven and Hell• Philosophy and Critical Thinking• Thanos and The Boys• Psychology of Villains• History Written by Winners• Power, Morality and Perspective• Why Society Needs Villains• Human Nature• Politics and Ideology• Indian History and Mythology
What changes when Krishna becomes the center instead of ourselves? In this episode of For Soul's Sake, we explore a foundational aspect of bhakti: not just what we see… but from where we are seeing.“Do not try to see Krishna. Live in such a way that Krishna is pleased to see you.”A reflection on humility, devotion, chanting, and what it truly means to live for Krishna's pleasure instead of our own.If this resonated with you, share it with someone on their spiritual journey.Want to connect further?Instagram: www.instagram.com/radhika_dasa/Facebook: www.facebook.com/radhikadasmusicYouTube: www.youtube.com/c/RadhikaDasWebsite: www.radhikadas.comPatreon: www.patreon.com/radhikadasLinktree: linktr.ee/radhika_dasa
Anugraha, which we translate oftentimes as mercy, literally means someone who grabs you and takes you in the right direction—brings you along, doesn't leave you behind. Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu taught that Kṛṣṇa not only can become known, or that He reveals Himself through the process of bhakti, but He also takes us by the hand and brings us to our eternal position in the spiritual world. So, chanting is a communion with Kṛṣṇa, because He is non-different from His name. Therefore, when we're chanting Kṛṣṇa's names, we're worshiping Him by our tongue—āsyenedam upāsya (Śrī Nāmāṣṭaka verse 6), which means āsya means the mouth or the opening of the mouth, and āsyenedam is in the instrumental case, which means that we're using our mouth to upāsya, which means to worship Kṛṣṇa. By that process, Kṛṣṇa extends Himself to us, reveals Himself to us, and brings us along—anugraha. So, chanting is a very natural process, because if anyone has had any experience here in the material world and has at any time felt helpless, confused, or—I'm thinking of a third, anyone want to offer? Disturbed?—then there's a natural sense of calling out: "Please help me." So, we can take it that this is a very personal connection with the Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, by repeating His names and the mantra: Hare Kṛṣṇa, Hare Kṛṣṇa, Kṛṣṇa Kṛṣṇa, Hare Hare / Hare Rāma, Hare Rāma, Rāma Rāma, Hare Hare refers to Kṛṣṇa, the Supreme Personality of God, and also His eternal consort, His female counterpart. The two go together, Rādhā and Kṛṣṇa; they're the perfect whole in two, and so everything's complete within the mantra. All perfection can be achieved by chanting the mantra, and here we are, in the middle of Silicon Valley, practicing the age-old process of chanting Hare Kṛṣṇa so feel free to call out to Kṛṣṇa when you chant. "Please engage me in your service, and please save me from this ocean of material existence."
Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta Part 2 Chapter 4 Text 14 tad asvī-kṛtya tu svīyaṁ govardhana-bhuvaṁ vapuḥ teṣāṁ prabhāvatas tādṛg- guṇa-rūpādy alambhayam TRANSLATION But I refused their offer, and instead, by their influence, my own body born in Govardhana assumed qualities and beauty like theirs.
This talk is from an event sponsored by the Hindu Council of Australia in cooperation with the Australian School of Meditation and Yoga. The question was whether there is a distinction between Dharma and Sanatana Dharma? Acharya das explained that while Dharma has conventional definitions including customary religious observance, prescribed conduct, duty, religion, and good works, it has a deeper meaning as an intrinsic characteristic that makes something what it is - something that cannot be removed without changing the fundamental nature of that thing. He provided examples of heat and light being the dharma of fire, sweetness being the dharma of sugar, and liquidity being the dharma of water.Sanatana as meaning eternal, perpetual, permanent, everlasting, and primeval, distinguishing Sanatana Dharma from conventional religion by explaining that it deals with the eternal nature of the living being or spirit soul (atma). Acharya das distinguished Sanatana Dharma as dealing with the eternal nature of the living being or soul (atma), referencing Srila Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada's teachings that Sanatana Dharma refers to activities that cannot be changed and represents the eternal function of living entities in relationship with the Supreme Lord. The lecturer addressed the apparent contradiction in the Bhagavad Gita where Krishna instructs Arjuna to abandon all varieties of dharma and surrender unto Him, explaining that this refers to abandoning temporary religious duties to embrace one's eternal spiritual nature. Acharya das proposed that true self-realization requires understanding the three aspects of the self/soul: one's essence (being Brahman while maintaining distinction from Paramatma), one's position (equal to all living beings but subservient to the Supreme Being), and one's natural function (to love and to serve.) He concluded that bhakti - rendering eternal loving service to the Lord - is the natural function of the living being and the true definition of Sanatana Dharma. Quotes used in the talk:Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear. - Bhagavad-gītā 18.66Pure love for Kṛṣṇa is eternally established in the hearts of the living entities. It is not something to be gained from another source. “Everyone can understand that we drink the milk of cows and take the help of bulls in producing agricultural products. Therefore, since our real father gives us food grains and our mother gives us milk with which to live, the cow and bull are considered our father and mother. According to Vedic civilization, there are seven mothers, of which the cow is one.” (Shrila Prabhupada, Chaitanya Charitamrita, Adi 17.154, Purport)
As Akrūra in his prayers to Kṛṣṇa on the way to Vṛndāvan said, "We're like logs floating endlessly in the river, but there will be a time that we come to the shore." For those who have met a Vaiṣṇav, Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākur says, "Just as when you see the light on the horizon heralding the sunrise, then you know you're about to see the sun." And for anyone in this world, he says, who has taken sādhu-saṅga—has met a true sādhu, one who has no other interest in life except to serve Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu and Lord Nityānanda and spread the Saṅkīrtan movement all over the world—then it is absolutely 100% certain that you will see Kṛṣṇa face to face. When Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu would leave His domicile and go out into the world, He would always take shelter of Kṛṣṇa on His way, and we can too. Many of us are leaving today, going back to our homes, so let us together sing the song that Lord Caitanya Mahāprabhu Himself sang when He went back on the road to go out to save more conditioned souls by spreading the holy name. And that's what we're all going to do when we walk out this door, right? Everybody say "yes!" And when I get to zero, you're going to raise your hands in the air and do the only thing that the soul really wants to do, which is to say "Kṛṣṇa". From the bottom of your heart. Reach up towards Goloka Vṛndāvan and call out to Kṛṣṇa with all your heart, so that the vibration runs through the steel beams of this entire building, out onto the street, and covers not just New Orleans but Louisiana, and starts to migrate down into the other states in the South, and then bounces off the ocean and goes back to the North, and then all the way to California, and then across the ocean into Europe and Russia, all the way to Antarctica, all over China and Asia—3, 2, 1! Sometimes the thing that feels like a loss turns out to be the setup for something far better. In this special retreat Q&A from Super Soul Farm, Raghunath and Kaustubha share stories of how previous chapters in their own lives ended before the birth of the podcast. Both stories point to the same truth: when Krishna closes one door, he opens another. The episode also tackles one of the deepest questions in Vaishnava philosophy — where did we come from and why are we here? — with a humble, practical and reassuring answer. Plus Tulsi is taking over someone's Brooklyn garden and nobody's complaining. ******************************************************************** LOVE THE PODCAST? In 1953, an Indian diplomat nicknamed the 'sombre porcupine' was given a rare opportunity when he was invited to the Kremlin to meet Joseph Stalin, one of the most controversial figures of the 20th century. Krishna Menon was a key figure in India's fight for independence from British rule, and was close to Jawaharlal Nehru, who'd become independent India's first Prime Minister. Reena Stanton-Sharma listens to archive recordings of Menon recalling his impressions of the Soviet Union's leader in a 1967 BBC interview. Eye-witness accounts brought to life by archive. Witness History is for those fascinated by and curious about the past. We take you to the events that have shaped our world through the eyes of the people who were there. What will your final thought be? In Chapter 8 of the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna gives a surprising answer: your last thought isn't something you can control in the moment — it's the result of what you've practiced thinking about your entire life. So this chapter isn't really about death — It's about attention. In this episode, I explore:
Bṛhad-bhāgavatāmṛta Part 2 Chapter 3 Text 184 śrīman-nāma prabhos tasya śrī-mūrter apy ati-priyam jagad-dhitaṁ sukhopāsyaṁ sa-rasaṁ tat-samaṁ na hi TRANSLATION Dearer to the Lord than even His own beautiful form, His easily worshiped holy name benefits the entire world. Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam says that when you control the tongue, then all the other senses become controlled after that. Then, by that practice of chanting Hare Krishna, you will come to a point where it tastes good and you don't want to stop, and then automatically—systemically—you'll feel satisfied. All the senses become satisfied when you please Krishna by chanting with your tongue: jihvā ādau—first thing, the tongue. And toleration. We do various kinds of duties, and we also do austerities, and in those things you have to learn the art of toleration. Krishna mentions that in the Bhagavad-gītā in many different places, but it serves us well. I'll tell you how to do it. It's called "Tender Loving Neglect." So, there's a way in which there are urges that come up, agitations. You don't say, "No, get out of here, never ever come back!" You just say, "Yeah, I know you're there. I'll get to you later. For now, I'm not going to do anything." As Haridāsa Ṭhākura did—when a prostitute came, he didn't say, "Scram!" He said, "I'll be with you in a minute, I've got to finish my rounds." We know how to put things off. If you've ever had an important paper to write, and then you kept doing everything else—you washed your whole room, you figured out a formula for creating more efficient gasoline, whatever you might do to avoid writing the paper—that's procrastination. Do the same thing when there are sense urges: neglect them. TLN instead of TLC. ------------------------------------------------------------ To connect with His Grace Vaiśeṣika Dāsa, please visit https://www.fanthespark.com/next-steps/ask-vaisesika-dasa/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://vaisesikadasayatra.blogspot.com/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Add to your wisdom literature collection: https://iskconsv.com/book-store/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://www.bbtacademic.com/books/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 https://thefourquestionsbook.com/?utm_source=youtube&utm_medium=video&utm_campaign=launch2025 ------------------------------------------------------------ Join us live on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/FanTheSpark/ Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/sound-bhakti/id1132423868 For the latest videos, subscribe https://www.youtube.com/@FanTheSpark For the latest in SoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/fan-the-spark ------------------------------------------------------------ #japajolt #makejapagreatagain #chantharekrishnaandbehapy #spiritualawakening #soul #spiritualexperience #spiritualpurposeoflife #spiritualgrowthlessons #secretsofspirituality #vaisesikaprabhu #vaisesikadasa #vaisesikaprabhulectures #spirituality #bhaktiyoga #krishna #spiritualpurposeoflife #krishnaspirituality #spiritualusachannel #whybhaktiisimportant #whyspiritualityisimportant #vaisesika #spiritualconnection #thepowerofspiritualstudy #selfrealization #spirituallectures #spiritualstudy #spiritualquestions #spiritualquestionsanswered #trendingspiritualtopics #fanthespark #spiritualpowerofmeditation #spiritualteachersonyoutube #spiritualhabits #spiritualclarity #bhagavadgita #srimadbhagavatam #spiritualbeings #kttvg #keepthetranscendentalvibrationgoing #spiritualpurpose

Buddhism and Bhaktivedanta share a lot of common ground. Both embrace the same radical insight — that the mind is the architect of our experience, and that what we feed it determines the life we live. But in this episode Raghunath and Kaustubha explore where Bhakti takes it one step further. Buddhism negates the names and forms of matter, freeing the mind from attachment, pointing toward liberation. Bhakti provides the positive side. Not just improved wellbeing. Not just liberation. The prema prayojana — the full awakening of divine love. The Srimad Bhagavatam shows us what that looks like through the gopis – always focused on the meditation's highest object. When they hear Krishna's flute they leave everything behind and refuse all callings to turn back. My guest today is Krishna Rao, the CFO of Anthropic. The center of our conversation is how he navigates the decision around procuring and allocating compute, which he describes as the canvas on which everything else gets built. We talk about what he calls the cone of uncertainty, the three chip platforms Anthropic uses fungibly across Trainium, TPUs, and GPUs, and the daily meetings they run to allocate compute between model development, internal use, and serving customer demand. He explains why the returns to frontier intelligence keep getting higher, especially in enterprise, and how Anthropic thinks about the line between platform and application and why they choose to build their own products like Claude Code. Krishna has such a unique seat watching one of the fastest growing businesses in history, and he is generous in sharing what he has learned since joining the company two years ago. Life is kind of empty if there is not something so meaningful and beautiful that we feel a calling to give everything out of love. We spend our lives looking for that higher cause — or feeling empty if we haven't found it. The total giving of the self is what Thomas Merton calls a blind spiritual instinct. And when you actually follow it, people may think you've gone crazy. Raghunath and Kaustubha explore that calling alongside Krishna's flute-song call of love to the gopis, instigating a "terrible act of thievery" by stealing their sobriety, shyness, fear and discrimination. Through this pastime the Bhaktivedanta tradition shares one of its most radical teachings — that true renunciation can only be the result of pure love, and that renunciation is artificial if it is not a derivative of such devotional love. Most people think of God simply as a witness or facilitator of their own romantic affairs. The Bhaktivedanta tradition reveals that the conjugal love experienced by human beings is a mere reflection of a spiritual reality in which the same love exists in an absolute, pristine state. So we don't need to turn away from beauty and love in this world. We just need to see the source and origin behind it. Raghunath and Kaustubha explore Plato's ladder of beauty alongside the bhakti path — and find they are pointing in the same direction. Every spark of beauty in this world springs from the same source. Use it as a stepping stone, not a dead end. And at the top of that ladder, the Srimad Bhagavatam opens the most sacred passage in all of Vedic literature — the Rāsa Līlā. Krishna, lacking nothing, takes shelter of his own internal potency and enters the most intimate of all loving affairs. The unconquerable is conquered by love. Every love story ever told — the Song of Solomon, Layla and Majnun, the Bollywood heroine running toward her true love — is a shadow of this. The desire for intimacy with the divine is the deepest longing in the human heart. And after six and a half years of reading through the Srimad Bhagavatam, Raghunath and Kaustubha have arrived at its most sacred passage — the Rāsa Līlā. The essence of the essence of the essence. Five chapters describing Krishna's circle dance with the gopis, considered the pinnacle of all Vedic literature and the ultimate expression of divine love. But this is not a romantic story in any ordinary sense. The Bhagavatam itself declares that hearing it properly frees the soul from lust rather than inflaming it. To see it rightly requires what the tradition calls prema netra — the eye of love. Raghunath and Kaustubha introduce the Rāsa Līlā through Professor Graham Schweig's landmark study, The Dance of Divine Love — exploring what these five chapters contain and how the Bhagavatam's vision differs from the greater Vedic tradition out of which it arises. Rather than forced renunciation, it offers something far deeper — renunciation that arises naturally, spontaneously, out of love. When you taste the highest taste, everything else falls away on its own. ******************************************************************** LOVE THE PODCAST? "The gift of gratitude. In order to feel it, your ego has to take a backseat." A shift that happens when the ego stops driving. In this episode Raghunath and Kaustubha explore how gratitude isn't just an etiquette — it's a marker of spiritual depth and the default setting of the self. When the false ego dissolves, the rising of gratitude appears as a natural effect of the soul understanding itself correctly in relation with God. The conversation then moves into fascinating territory — exploring a ladder of spiritual consciousness, and how its some of its highest expressions manifest not in the powerful mystics, but in the simple, pure hearts of the cowherd men of Vrindavan, ordinary farmers who love Krishna without pretense or pride.
