Musicians Ryan Gurnett and Dennis Reed Jr talk about the good, the bad and the funny of being a DIY musician from the Struggling Studios in Buffalo, New York. In this episode, drummer and recording engineer Blake Cooper of the lo-fi sun-pop Rochester band Dumb Angel stops by to talk “boutique” labels, format wars, nightmare recording sessions, and how to avoid that “deer in the headlights” look in the recording studio. Also, Ryan mines the always entertaining and occasionally illegal Buffalo Craigslist “music community” ads to test Dennis in a new edition of our game show, “Real, Not Real?” MUSIC: 47:16 - “Moss” by Dumb Angel (2015) Hear more Dumb Angel https://dumbangel.bandcamp.com/ BUFFALO MUSIC SURVEY: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/STDR6MV We need your opinion!
