What if lust is about more than sexual temptation? In this message from our The Struggle Is Real series, we discover that lust is any God-given desire that grows into an obsession and begins to take God's place in our hearts. Whether it's success, money, relationships, comfort, approval, or sexual sin, every one of us wrestles with misplaced desires.Through God's Word, we learn how healthy longings can become destructive idols—and how Jesus offers redemption, healing, and freedom.
In The Struggle Is Real, we dive into Galatians 5:16–25 and confront the daily battle every Christian faces between the desires of the flesh and the leading of the Holy Spirit. While the conflict is real, Paul reminds us that we don't have to be controlled by our old nature. Through Christ, we've been given the Holy Spirit, who empowers us to live differently and walk in victory. This message explores the two sides of that spiritual conflict: the destructive works of the flesh and the life-giving fruit of the Spirit. As believers, our lives will always reveal which direction we're walking. Rather than living for ourselves, we're called to cultivate lives marked by love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control as evidence of God's transforming work within us.The challenge is clear: crucify the flesh, keep in step with the Spirit, and stop settling for excuses that keep you from growing closer to Christ. Victory isn't found by trying harder—it's found by walking daily with the One who has already won the battle.
After setting an incredible pace in the first two episodes of Season 3 of House of the Dragon, episode 3 is much slower-paced, much more deliberate, and equally as compelling as the other episodes. Rhaenyra has finally assumed control of the Iron Throne. But with great power comes great responsibility, and Rhaenyra finds this out the hard way in this episode. The new Queen faces issues on all sides as she discovers the kingdom is broke, the Faith will not acknowledge her, the small folk are on the verge of starvation, and Daemon is imploring her to take the world by force and, if necessary, dragon fire. Even in victory, there is a price to be paid, and Rhaenyra discovers that truth in yet another excellent episode of House of the Dragon!Chairshot Radio NetworkLaunched in 2017, the Chairshot Radio Network presents you with the best in sports, entertainment, and sports entertainment. Hi, friends. For those who are interested, I'm saying more about this in my solo episodes, but as I was preparing to recover from a non-life-threatening (and yet major) health surgery, I spent some time thinking about what would be meaningful to share with you all for the next few weeks or so. And I landed on a shortlist of conversations that I've had on Pulling the Thread over the years that resonated with listeners, that stuck with me, and that feel ever more relevant today, and worthy of a first-time listen now—and even a re-listen. First up is my conversation with everybody's favorite palliative medicine physician, BJ Miller. BJ has become a dear friend of mine and I find his approach to fear and the unknown to be incredibly helpful in so many aspects of life—from relationships to career to contemplating our larger purpose. This episode originally ran at the very end of 2021, which seems hard to believe for me! I hope you still love it, too. For the show notes, head to my website. Learn more about your ad choices. Have you ever found yourself doing the very thing you promised you'd never do again? In Romans 7, the apostle Paul pulls back the curtain on his own battle with sin and reminds us that even mature believers wrestle with the flesh. In this message, we discover that the presence of the struggle is not the absence of salvation. The Christian life isn't about pretending the battle doesn't exist—it's about learning where to take it. Through Jesus, we're invited to stop relying on our own strength and instead depend on the grace that saves, sustains, and transforms us.If you're tired of failing, wondering if God is disappointed in you, or questioning your faith because of your ongoing struggles, this message is for you. The war is real—but so is the victory we have in Christ.
Have you ever found yourself doing the very thing you don't want to do? You're not alone. In Romans 7:14–25, the Apostle Paul opens up about a struggle every believer faces—the battle between our desire to follow God and the reality of our sinful nature. Even after years of following Jesus, Paul admits that the struggle with sin is real. Yet his honesty points us to a powerful truth: our hope is not found in our own strength, but in the grace of Jesus Christ. In this message, Pastor Epi Garcia explores how salvation happens in a moment, but sanctification takes a lifetime. You'll discover why the struggle with sin isn't evidence that God has abandoned you—it may actually be evidence that God is actively working in your life.Whether you're battling temptation, feeling discouraged in your faith, or wondering why following Jesus can feel so difficult at times, this message offers hope, encouragement, and a reminder that victory is found in Christ.

The weekly message from Community Church Edinburgh. This talk is from Sunday, 14th Jun 2026.What happens to our faith in the midst of struggle and suffering? How can struggle change our understanding of God? From the Old Testament to the present day people of faith have found God to be with them in their struggle and suffering – though perhaps not always in the ways they might expect. As we continue our series The Struggle is Real: Being Fully Human in a Broken World, Johanna shares stories of how people encountered God in their suffering and offers ways that we might too.
THE STRUGGLE IS REAL (Matthew 10:16-25) I. Be Wise; vs.16-20 II. Be Steadfast; vs.21-23 III. Be Like Jesus; vs.24-25 Jesus warns the apostles of those who are hostile towards the gospel. While persecution was to be expected, they were to be harmless as doves.

The weekly message from Community Church Edinburgh. This talk is from Sunday, 31st May 2026.The word lament is not part of our contemporary vocabulary. Despite the fact that lament plays a significant role in the scriptures (there is even a whole book of the bible named Lamentations,) the whole concept can feel quite out of place in many contemporary christian environments. As we continue our series The Struggle is Real: Being Fully Human in a Broken World, Andrew explores the role of lament in scripture and why it is an important part of healthy and authentic spirituality.
In this message, Pastor Delman addresses the ongoing inner conflict believers face even after giving their lives to Christ. The sermon emphasizes that baptism does not eliminate struggle, but instead begins a lifelong process of learning how to navigate it with faith and honesty. Paul's words show that wrestling with temptation, weakness, and inconsistency does not make someone a bad Christian. First, the message urges believers not to shame their struggles, reminding them that God offers grace and freedom from condemnation rather than guilt and disgrace. Second, it warns against “shifting” the struggle by masking pain through unhealthy behaviors that avoid addressing the real issue. Finally, the sermon highlights the importance of finding support, teaching that true healing comes from safe relationships and faith communities where people can be vulnerable, authentic, and supported without fear of judgment. Together, these truths encourage believers to face their struggles with grace, truth, and the help of others rather than in isolation or shame.

The Industry Relations Podcast is now available on your favorite podcast player! Overview This episode starts with Greg discussing Giant Steps' new MLS channel guidebook and the growing difficulty vendors face navigating organized real estate. Rob and Greg unpack how MLS relationships, site licenses, and enterprise deals have changed, why vendor distribution is getting harder, and how AI could completely reshape SaaS and real estate technology business models. The conversation then shifts into AI as "labor" rather than just software, token-based economics, infrastructure wars between Zillow, Compass, and the MLS ecosystem, and how the fallout from Sitzer/Burnett continues to reshape the industry. They also debate BLX, MLS cooperation, and whether MLSs are behaving more like governments than businesses. Key Takeaways Greg explains why MLS site-license deals are becoming rarer and why vendors increasingly need direct-to-agent strategies. Rob compares MLSs to government bureaucracies and argues vendors often need "lobbyists" to navigate the system. Discussion on AI shifting from a SaaS tool to a labor replacement model powered by compute and tokens. Rob and Greg explore how Zillow, Compass, and MLSs are competing to become the core infrastructure layer of real estate. Debate over whether BLX strengthens MLS cooperation or creates a path around traditional MLS systems. The long-term ripple effects of Sitzer/Burnett continue to reshape technology, brokerage, and listing distribution strategies. Living out of God's grace creates the opportunity for us to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit, but our desires often work against the Holy Spirit. Each day and every moment, we are presented with a choice to follow our sinful nature or to follow the Holy Spirit. One way leads toward death and the other toward life. One way produces all types of evil while the other produces the fruit of good character. Through the power of Jesus' cross, we are empowered to choose life.Support the show
Can you relate with Paul's cry of "Who will deliver me?" Join Pastor Eric Giesow as he dives into Romans 7 and speaks to the struggle we all face with sin.
In this message, Pastor Aaron Kennedy confronts the real struggle every believer faces between the old sinful nature and the new life found in Christ. Paul reminds us, in Romans, that through Jesus we are no longer slaves to sin but have been given the freedom to live a new life through His grace. While the tension between flesh and Spirit is real, the power of sin has been broken through Christ's death and resurrection. True freedom comes when we stop giving sin authority again and instead allow the Holy Spirit to lead our lives.

EPISODE 12: The Struggle Is Real Dying Laughing with Jessimae In this episode of Dying Laughing, Jessimae takes on the messy, universal theme of struggle and proves it doesn't have to define us. She answers fan-submitted questions about everything from navigating suicide loss, to the challenges of single parenting, to what it feels like to believe you're unworthy of love. Jessimae also opens up about her own battles with acne, loss, and the heavy days that shaped her and finds the humor and light tucked inside the hard stuff. Along the way, her sister makes a quick (and hilarious) appearance, reminding us that sometimes the best medicine for struggle is connection. This one's real, raw, and ultimately hopeful - a reminder that whatever you're going through, you're not alone in it.
