️ Episode Recap – The ADD Boys EPISODE 153: WHAT TYPE OF UGLYThis week, the gang starts off vibing on nostalgia, swapping stories about childhood movies and roasting the hilariously bad acting on Power. NoFace and J.O. have been rewatching it, and apparently, it's even worse than they remembered—especially with Kanaan's new season. Things heat up with the Dear ADD Boys segment, featuring a guy stuck with a woman who checks every box exceptattraction—and another listener frustrated that her man doesn't last long enough in bed. That sparks Parker to drop a real question: "Is foreplay dead in marriages?" And then he takes it all the way left by introducing a new term to the crew: hotwifing—yes, where a dude handpicks the man to lay the wood on his lady. Meanwhile, J.O. thought a woman was on him tough... turns out she was just feeling his music. Welcome to the heartbreak hotel. From sex dilemmas to bad TV and even worse decisions, this one is classic ADD chaos. #TheADDBoys #DearADD #PowerTV #Hotwifing #PodcastRecap #RelationshipTalk #ForeplayIssues #FunnyPodcast #BlackPodcasts #TrendingTopics #BarbershopTalk #PodcastLife #UnfilteredContent #HipHopPodcast #PodcastComedy #WeeklyShow #NostalgiaVibes #RaisingKanaan #CrazyConfessions #PodcastClips #WildTakes Chapters (00:00:02) - Church and Cancer(00:03:01) - Pimp On The Beat(00:06:17) - POD BLOKES(00:09:14) - Tank in the Bangers(00:11:43) - Mom's Baby Gatherings(00:12:36) - Jaleel on His niece's Baby Name(00:13:24) - The Shot For Kayla's Birthday(00:15:41) - My Dad Has ADHD(00:18:19) - Oh My Gonna Die(00:18:40) - Scientists Bring Back Dire Wolves From Game of Thrones(00:22:22) - Blues Brothers: Music in Movies(00:24:37) - Favorite Disney Movies Are Musicals(00:27:08) - Tommy On The Tommy Show(00:29:53) - Ad ADD Boys: I'm Close To Being In A Relationship(00:34:26) - "If Any Woman Is The One, She'll Be The Cl(00:37:01) - ADHD Boys: Ugly Is Not All Ugly(00:40:35) - Slump Buster(00:43:32) - Ronald Isley vs Charlie Wilson(00:47:29) - Never Be Above Weak Work(00:49:18) - The Paause Manual(00:50:00) - He Moves From City To Country(00:53:43) - Go Get Her(00:57:03) - Keep Your Woman Or Pursue The Next One(00:59:41) - He Only Last 90 Seconds In Bed(01:02:46) - Speedy Gonzalez: Sex Is Only 20% of the Relationship(01:06:47) - "It's Good For 90 Seconds"(01:07:07) - Is Foreplay Still a Thing in 2025?(01:10:23) - He Texted Her About His Infidelity(01:13:39) - Puff Daddy on Sean Combs' Prison Ranting(01:15:23) - Hot Wifing Is Back(01:18:36) - Chris Brown on His Super Bowl(01:21:34) - Jermaine Dupree on Duvall's Comments About Am(01:25:31) - Songwriter Missy Elliott Inducted into Songwriters Hall of(01:29:21) - Dude Uses A Condom On His First Time Sex(01:32:55) - Joel on A Compliment From A Fan(01:36:37) - Demo On Working At Walmart(01:39:32) - Kendrick Dropped A Video(01:42:10) - Let's Get It Started(01:46:03) - Take It Easy My Advice For You All

Are you tired of feeling stuck—emotionally, physically, or in your relationship with food and your body? Do you sense that procrastination or self-doubt is holding you back from living the life you really want? What if the key to moving forward isn't just another diet or goal, but a deeper decision about who you're willing to be—for yourself? In this episode, we're joined by Cris Duvall, a dental hygienist, patient-health advocate, and wellness coach who knows firsthand the toll that being stuck can take. She opens up about how procrastination once froze her in place, slowly chipping away at her self-esteem, her health, and her relationships. Like many of us, Cris tried to push through on her own—until she realized that healing starts when we tell ourselves the truth and ask for help. She reflects on the ways we often look outside ourselves for answers, when the real power comes from becoming what she calls an “internal sorter”—someone who trusts their own voice again. Through her story, you'll hear how she moved from survival mode to what she now calls living on the “fun bus,” surrounded by people who support her joy, growth, and truth. Cris's journey is a powerful reminder that transformation begins with a single choice: to be fully present for your own life. By putting herself first, not out of selfishness but out of self-respect, she found new energy, purpose, and connection. Whether it's health, relationships, or simply feeling alive again, her story offers a path forward for anyone ready to stop settling and start showing up. If you've been wondering when it's time to change—this might be your moment. Let Chris inspire you to finally invest in yourself, and make decisions that honor who you are and who you're becoming. “After that breakthrough session, I am much more calm and at peace with what I get to do over here as opposed to what I was feeling like I'm going to be disappointing God or disappointing somebody if I decide to do something else with my life. And so now it's much easier to combine and enjoy my life and to be free of those inner struggles. So it was very powerful for me.” - Cris Duval What you will learn from this episode: 04:09 - Breaking free from procrastination and negative self-talk leading to healing, freedom, and overcoming emotional eating 07:57 - A near-death experience and profound personal loss helped shape her lifelong mission to save lives and foster health, values, and meaningful connections. 15:25 - How facing the long-term consequences of poor health choices has deepened her belief in living intentionally and prioritizing well-being now 19:53 - Sharing how breaking free from food-related suffering allows people to rediscover their true purpose, potential, and inner voice 26:11 - What made her seek Leslie's coaching 28:58 - A turning point that freed her from judging others and empowered her to create a more purposeful and positive life 33:49 - How these three dynamics in her life created a desire to have an inner peace 37:02 - The most important highlight in her breakthrough session 40:47 - Talking about the conscious versus the unconscious mind 43:48 - The cost of being stuck 45:30 - Emphasizing the importance of seeking counsel only from those committed to telling the truth, not just what you want to hear 50:00 - Sharing about her 'Fun Bus' philosophy and a heartwarming story about meeting Mel Robbins 56:19 - Cris' words of encouragement and wisdom Connect with Cris Duval: Website: https://www.thelifeguardapproach.com/cris-duval Email: cris@thelifeguardapproach.com Valuable Resources: Join my next LIVE masterclass Join the 8-week Fastrack to Food Freedom Program -Guaranteed mental and emotional freedom from food Connect With Leslie Thornton: Book A Clarity Call Website Facebook LinkedIn Email: Leslie@hpwl.co If you enjoy the podcast, Would you please consider leaving a quick review on Apple Podcasts/iTunes in under 60 seconds? Ever wonder how a few thoughtful words can make or break a client's trust? Cathy Duvall, owner of Goin' to the Dogs Pet Sitting, explores the power of clear, proactive communication. From setting expectations at the very first inquiry to handling unexpected issues with honesty and empathy, Cathy shares how consistent follow-through and transparency help her build long-lasting client relationships. She gives practical tactics for training clients to respond promptly, ensuring both parties stay on the same page—because when clients feel seen, heard, and valued, trust naturally grows. Whether you're dealing with an unsure cat, subtle behavioral shifts, or the curveballs that come with caring for living, breathing pets, this conversation is packed with insights on turning everyday communication challenges into opportunities for deeper connection. Main topics: Proactive, Consistent Communication Strategies Setting Clearly Defined Expectations Handling Unexpected Pet Care Challenges Nurturing Long-Term Client Relationships Prioritizing Pet Safety, Well-being Main takeaway: “Things happen, mistakes are made, but it's how you handle it and communicate through it that builds trust.” In a perfect world, every visit would run smoothly and no detail would ever be overlooked. But the real measure of professionalism comes when life throws a curveball. Being upfront, honest, and proactive in how you address challenges can turn a rough situation into a chance to deepen client confidence. Clear communication isn't just a courtesy—it's an investment in trust. Whether it's sending a quick update about a delay, checking in after an unexpected issue, or apologizing when something goes wrong, open dialogue transforms misunderstandings into mutual respect. In the pet care industry, trust is everything. You earn it not just by being perfect, but by showing clients that, come what may, you've got their pet's best interests at heart—and that you'll keep them informed every step of the way. About our guest: Hi! I am Cathy Duvall, the sole proprietor of Goin' to the Dogs Pet Sitting. Certified Professional Pet Sitter (CPPS), Elite Fear Free Certified Professional (FFCP). I started my business in March 2015 when I lived in Cumming, GA (in the metro Atlanta area). I relocated in 2018 to Mineral Bluff, GA in the beautiful North Georgia mountains, and I had to start my business from scratch when I relocated. Before March 2015, I was a radio news reporter in my younger adult years and a technical writer in the mid-1990s. I grew weary of the grind and politics of corporate life, and I retired from it in 1997. I then became a happy stay-at-home wife and devoted dog mom! While living this wonderful chapter of my life, from time to time I would take care of my neighbors' pets when they traveled and couldn't take their fur kids with them. One of those neighbors suggested that I start a pet-sitting business. So I did! My pet-care services include drop-in visits, vacation visits and overnight stays. I also offer dog-walking services on a limited basis. I continue to recover from three ankle surgeries since September 2021, so I must be selective about the dogs I can walk. When I am not devoting my time to my pawsome pet clients, I enjoy spending time with my husband, Garland, and our two mixed-breed rescue dogs, Atlas and Aspen. I also do a weekly cat of the week write-up for my local newspaper when I am not tending to the duties of my pet-care business. On this week's show, the panel begins by dissecting Longlegs, director Osgood Perkin's viral horror movie starring Nicolas Cage that's sweeping the box office. Aided by a clever marketing campaign, Longlegs is undoubtedly the summer's “you gotta see it” horror flick, but does the Silence of the Lambs copycat live up to the hype? Then, the three jump (or is it herkie?) into Greg Whiteley's latest docuseries, America's Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders, which follows the Texan squad from auditions through the grueling NFL season, revealing a quietly devastating portrait of worker exploitation and modern femininity along the way. Finally, the trio is joined by Slate critic Laura Miller to parse through an extreme controversy in the literary world: Last week, Alice Munro's daughter, Andrea Skinner, published an Op-Ed in the Toronto Star detailing the sexual abuse she suffered as a young girl at the hands of her stepfather – abuse that the Nobel Prize-winning author had known about, but chose to ignore. (Read Laura's essay for Slate; check out the Star's reported piece.) In the exclusive Slate Plus segment, the panel rips into Longlegs and all of its glorious plot holes in a classic spoiler special. Email us at culturefest@slate.com. Endorsements: Stephen: Dodie Smith's I Capture the Castle and this essay by Anna Leskiewicz for The New York Review: “The Small-Girl's Proust.” Dana: In honor of Shelley Duvall (who passed away last week), a two-part endorsement: (1) Austin Film Society's tribute to Duvall, which premiered at the 2020 Texas Film Awards. (2) Watching a Shelley Duvall movie that's new to you! (Dana suggests Brewster McCloud directed by Robert Altman.) Julia: A special Scandi-Candy report: (1) Norway's national candy, Kvikk Lunsj, which carries the reputation of a Snickers bar in that part of the world and sports the Fjellvettreglene (Norwegian for “the mountain code”) on the wrapper's back. (2) Fredag Slik, or “Friday sweets,” a Danish tradition where families head to the candy store together at the end of the week. Podcast production by Jared Downing. Production assistance by Kat Hong.
