At one point the CW Universe, originally dubbed the Arrowverse, was the best comic book to TV adaptation in the world. From Arrow to Flash, Supergirl to Black Lightning, there was no one who could hold a candle to it. But, after nearly a decade is that still true? Is the Greg Berlanti ran superhero universe still the best on the market or have they fallen behind the lives of Marvel, Amazon or even Netflix? Despite most of their shows being much older, there may still be hope for newcomers like Stargirl and Superman and Lois. Ben and Robbie also talk about the future of the CWverse and if there is anything the comic counterparts can do to save it.
Kevin Smith joins us this week to discuss his roller coaster experience in this industry from surprised early fame with Clerks, to battling a sophomore slump with Mallrats, and eventually maturing to a level of creating without worrying about peer or critic approval. Kevin gets deep into the idea of attaining early success and the feeling of always having to produce from that point forward to prevent getting kicked out of the club. We also get into his graduation moment with Stan Lee, his thoughts on the new CW Universe, and his take on freedom in expression.
In this episode we try to talk Fandome 2, but get wildly off-topic talking Batwoman, the CW Universe, how industries need to adapt, and one of us gushes about the new Robin hardcover, but we do kinda cover most of it at the same time, so put it in your ears and enjoy!! (we do have some audio difficulties this week, the trials of recording across continents!)
Steve and Alil discuss the new Titans trailer, the CW DC universe. Do we need a new updated Turtles movie for adults? and so much more so sit back relax, and where did Sean go???? Until next week.. Keep it Geeky!!!
Welcome to another exciting episode of the Jersey Comic Krew Podcast! On this week's news segment, we have confirmation that Avengers 4 will be 3 hours long! Lex Luthor for the CW Universe has been cast as Jon Cryer. We also have first look at the live action Lion King, Toy Stroy 4, and Detective Pikachu. Our Comic Book Breakdown focuses heavily on the Justice League. Specifically, we discuss Justice League/Aquaman: Drowned Earth, Justice League Dark/Wonder Woman: The Witching Hour and Heroes in Crisis #2.
This week episodes get real before the season finales

In this week’s episode, the news was somewhat lacking this week, but never fear we can always talk about Star Wars theories for 20 minutes! Were also happy to announce that our good friend Steven has become an official member of the Z2 crew, which were super happy about and looking forward to having him on the show regularly. Zach also saw “The Accountant” this weekend and gives us his thoughts on it. Our discussion topics for this week is “Who deserves a lantern ring?” and “The State of the CW Universe”, in which we talk about which characters, Marvel or DC we think would get a lantern ring, no matter the color, and what we think about the overall state of the CW universe with the addition of Supergirl and lowered ratings for Flash and Arrow. As always if you like what you hear and what to hear more, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Twitter @z2podcast, and you can check out our website for all those extra goodies. Be sure to leave us a rating to let us know what you think as well!
