The Third Part in our Buddies Stuck at Work Trilogy If this is the podcast where THE GODFATHER gets lumped in with SCREAM 7 for a thematic trilogy then we can assume that IMDb's greatest film of all time won't feel too bad about taking the place of MALLRATS as the followup to CLERKS in our absolutely correct trilogy in theory. Now how we feel about not getting to watch MALLRATS again, well... you'll just have to listen to the episode. Enjoy! Today's episode starts exactly where all respected broadcasting should begin: with Mini Kiss and a discussion about whether tiny rock legends drink full-size bottled water backstage. The gang recaps the absolute fever dream crossover happening in St. Louis — Chelcie Lynn on one side of town, Joe Dirt and Mini Kiss on the other — proving once again that this city runs entirely on chaos and questionable scheduling decisions. Then things somehow spiral into a full investigation of Air Supply, yacht rock confusion, and one of the weirdest transitions in show history. Which honestly feels correct for a daily comedy show held together by caffeine and emotional damage. From there, the conversation nosedives beautifully into horse fart audio analysis. Yes, really. The show attempts to identify a mysterious sound clip that turns out to be a horse relieving gastrointestinal pressure while the crew debates whether horse anatomy should legally sound like a chainsaw starting in a swamp. Educational radio at its finest. But the real emotional centerpiece of the episode is recess nostalgia. The gang breaks down everything modern kids are missing now that schools are cutting recess time: kickball politics, monkey bar injuries, freeze tag betrayal, double dutch reputations, and learning life lessons through controlled playground violence. Rafe reveals he was once an elite-level double dutch prodigy before peer pressure crushed his dreams, which honestly deserves its own documentary series. The crew also debates:Why malls are suddenly packed with teenagers againWhy malls immediately regretted letting teenagers returnWhether helicopter prom entrances are genius or criminal activityThe wildly suspicious math behind raising childrenWhy the Great Pacific Garbage Patch somehow turns into a conspiracy discussionTire swings, trash islands, playground danger, and Midwest logicIt's the kind of daily comedy show where one topic accidentally unlocks twelve childhood memories and at least three emotional scars before 7am.Whether you grew up surviving recess kickball politics, roaming malls unsupervised for six straight hours, or pretending monkey bars weren't OSHA violations, this episode feels like a weirdly comforting trip back to simpler times… just with more sarcasm and significantly worse knees. If you love funny podcasts, comedy podcasts, daily humor, weird news, nostalgic chaos, and pop culture commentary from people who absolutely should know better by now, welcome home.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Degens Andy S and Brandon Bombay find a kid stuck in the elevator while they head to the mall to discuss the 1995 comedy staple, 'Mallrats.' Andy starts things off with a story about an old man he used to drink and smoke with outside a mall whose body didn't react well to all the imbibing. Then the fellas say breakfast, shmreakfast as they discuss a VHS favorite that fully embodied the look and dialogue of '90s comedies. Filmed back in an era when hanging out at malls was commonplace for the youth, this was Kevin Smith's sophomore effort which wound up being a coming out party for star Jason Lee. Even though it was packed with pithy lines, and killer performances from the likes of Jason Mewes, it also exposed Smith as not being the most deft hand behind the camera. That doesn't matter however when you have a young Shannen Doherty, a gorgeous Claire Forlani, and a smouldering Joey Lauren Adams in front of the camera to distract from the uninspired direction. It's a hard-R nerd comedy filled with social rejects, who provide a fun-filled 90-plus minutes that will have your 13-year-old inner self chuckling the whole time.
What are two guys to do when they get dumped by their girlfriends? They go to the mall because it's the '90s, and that's how young people spent their time. In this episode of The 80s and 90s Uncensored, Milo is joined by Chad and Christina, hosts of His and Hers Gen X Podcast, to discuss the movie Mallrats, a box office failure when it was released that has since become a classic in the View Askewniverse. This week on No More Late Fees, Danielle and Jackie head back to the mall to revisit the 1995 cult classic Mallrats, directed by Kevin Smith. When two best friends get dumped on the same day, they spend their time wandering a suburban mall, getting into ridiculous situations, questioning love, and encountering some very memorable characters along the way. We're diving into Kevin Smith's early career, the film's journey from box office disappointment to cult favorite, and why this movie still resonates with anyone who grew up treating the mall like a second home.In this episodeOur Y2K ratings compared to nowThe rise of Kevin Smith and the View AskewniverseBen Affleck before he was Ben AffleckJay and Silent Bob momentsMall culture in the 90sDoes this movie still hold up·Season 6 Episode 2·No More Late Fees https://nomorelatefeespodcast.com909-601-NMLF (6653)—Follow Us on Social:Instagramhttps://www.instagram.com/nomorelatefees TikTokhttps://www.tiktok.com/@nomorelatefees Facebookhttps://www.facebook.com/nomorelatefees Youtubehttps://www.youtube.com/@nomorelatefees Twitterhttps://x.com/NoMoreLateFees —CONQUERingmyconquering.com 10% Off Code: JACKIE10—DescriptCreator Plan 50% off 2 monthshttps://descript.cello.so/zp4OQqeIMdq

Kevin Smith, , creator of Clerks, Dogma, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Jay and Silent Bob, Comic Book Men and so much more once upon a time in 1998 was given the opportunity to write Daredevil for Marvel Comics. This was a huge undertaking as many Hollywood writers and directors had a passion for comics, but never brought their talents to the medium. However, after encouraging words from the creative team of Joe Quesada and Jimmy Palmiotti helped Kevin Smith take the leap to add a new chapter to Matt Murdock's life. Kevin then goes on to write the storyline Guardian Devil to help launch the Marvel Knights imprint, which was an exciting time for Marvel Comics. This storyline features many themes of romance, betrayal, faith in oneself and beliefs, test of humanity, ethics, and some much more in this thrilling 8 issues series, all with ties to the larger Marvel Universe. If you are a Daredevil, the tv show, or other Daredevil stories we encourage you to check out the infamous comic book run.
Watchers today Joe is joined by the great CM Chuck of the Just Another Friday Night Podcast. Chuck is legally obligated to come onto the cast whenever we travel into Kevin Smith's viewaskew universe. Now we've covered Clerks and Mallrats and now we follow Jay and Silent Bob into the 1999 classic Dogma .Two fallen angels who were ejected from paradise find themselves banned in Wisconsin. They are now headed for New Jersey where they find a loophole that can get them back into heaven. The only catch is that it will destroy humanity. A group bands together to stop them.We do the classic NWT watch along here with one of our favorites from Chuck and i's graduation year ! One of Kevin Smiths best movies with a top notch cast. Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Chris Rock, Salma Hayek, Jason Lee, and the great Alan Rickman kill it in this film. This is probably my favorite Matt and Ben film. Who's house? Run's House!

On this week's episode, I'm very pleased to be rejoined by Rod Blackhurst (we had him on a couple of years back to discuss his indie crime drama Blood for Dust) and joined for the first time by Ethan Suplee, veteran character actor we all know and love from films like Mallrats, Remember the Titans, and The Wolf of Wall Street and TV shows like My Name Is Earl. We're discussing their new film, Dolly, a true indie endeavor made in the spirit of American classics like The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and The Evil Dead or the New French Extremity's High Tension. Rod and his partners raised some money, brought some folks to the woods of Tennessee, and put together something he hopes will be memorable for the audiences who see it. It's hitting theaters this weekend, playing around 800 or so screens across the country, and if you're a horror head—or just someone looking for something different—I hope you'll check it out. (It is a horror movie, though, so I cannot provide any refunds if the onscreen terror sparks a walkout.)As I said, getting Ethan on the show is a real treat because I've been a fan for years and it's been interesting to watch him dip his toes into some darker waters in recent years in films like Dolly, Babylon, Blood for Dust, and God Is a Bullet. It was fun to pick his brain about consciously making that shift and why his film work often gives him a little more space to stretch than his TV work.

Send us a textPress play and step through a time portal to the 1990s—sports dynasties on every screen, movie tie-ins on your soda cup, sitcoms that rewired comedy, and a Monday night where wrestling made the whole country pick a side. We hand the reins to our manager, Fiddy, and bring a lively panel together to relive the decade that shaped how we watch, listen, and eat.We kick off with the big question: were the 90s the true peak of sports dominance? From Jordan's Bulls to Gretzky and Lemieux, home run chases, and quarterbacks who defined eras, we tally the legends and ask if a decade could ever stack stars like that again. Then it's straight into the booth with John Madden and Pat Summerall—why their chemistry felt effortless and how their calls still echo in our heads. On the big screen, we revisit the Batman hype machine, the marketing that swallowed whole summers, and the films we still stop to watch—Heat, Forrest Gump, Mallrats, Billy Madison, Tombstone, Friday, and more.TV gets a full tour: 90210's taboo-breaking storylines, the TGIF routine, Seinfeld vs Friends, Fresh Prince, Married with Children, X-Files, Nickelodeon game shows, and the eerie charm of Are You Afraid of the Dark? We fire up the Monday Night Wars—WWF vs WCW, the NWO invasion, ECW chaos, and the Attitude Era's lightning-in-a-bottle energy that made pay-per-views must-see. Music rounds out the culture shift: grunge and alt-rock, hip-hop's canon from Biggie and Tupac to Outkast and Wu-Tang, pop's boy band takeover, Hootie's singalongs, and TRL's daily decider that turned tastes into a scoreboard. We close where so many memories started: McDonald's birthday parties, ball pits, Happy Meal toys, Pizza Hut red roofs, Ponderosa buffets, Denny's late nights, Chi-Chi's chips and salsa, and that perfect McDSubscribe for exclusive content: https://www.buzzsprout.com/1530455/support Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!Start for FREETactical BrotherhoodThe Tactical Brotherhood is a movement to support America.Dubby EnergyFROM GAMERS TO GYM JUNKIES TO ENTREPRENEURS, OUR PRODUCT IS FOR ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BE BETTER.ShankitgolfOur goal here at Shankitgolf is for everyone to have a great time on and off the golf courseSweet Hands SportsElevate your game with Sweet Hands Sports! emocleW, emocleW, emocleW to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!This is your bonus FRIDAY REWIND episode! Today, we catch up with Kevin Smith, originally episode 302 from 2019-12-04.Original writeup below:SNOOCHIE BOOCHIES! What a joy this is… While it is a slightly shorter episode, Pip could hardly turn Kevin down now could he…? Exactly. Unthinkable. So sit back and enjoy as Kevin essentially takes the reins with this one! It was expected though, as Kevin has basically found his true North by way of talking and telling stories for a living these days. But that's not to say he's thrown in the towel on films - oh good god no, as you will surely be aware of by the fact that his Jay & Silent Bob Reboot film is out and about and making much noise in the View Askew-niverse. This here is a chance to hear all about that, and the past hits in the Smith catalogue, as well as a gang of talking points including his gratefulness for being able to express himself for a living, the difference between making podcasts and movies, the younger Smith laying the foundations for later on, the power of the Q&A, brushes with death, and tons more but all held together with a true understanding of what he means to his fanbase and the importance of his products. A delightful whirlwind - enjoy!PIP'S PATREON PAGE if you're of a supporting natureINSTAGRAMJAY AND SILENT BOB REBOOTVIEW ASKEWSMODCASTCALM main linkCALM donate linkDAN LE SAC VS SCROOBIUS PIP BANDCAMPPIP TWITCH • (music stuff)PIP INSTAGRAMSPEECH DEVELOPMENT WEBSTOREPIP TWITTERPIP IMDBPOD BIBLE Hosted on Acast.
