Writer-producer Marc Guggenheim approaches his work from a place of trying to please the ten-year-old version of himself who loved sci fi and superheroes. So he was the perfect guy for Warner Bros. and DC Comics to tap to not just play in, but help build its cinematic sandbox. Marc Guggenheim is an American screenwriter, television producer, comic book writer, and novelist. After a romantic comedy script led to a few meetings with producers, he moved to California to pursue a career as a screenwriter. A script for The Practice was his first produced work. He eventually served as a producer for Law & Order, Jack and Bobby, CSI: Miami, and In Justice. With Greg Berlanti, Guggenheim is the co-creator of the ABC show Eli Stone. He later became executive producer of ABC's No Ordinary Family. Guggenheim, together with Berlanti and Andrew Kreisberg, adapted the Green Arrow comics into the television series Arrow. The three, alongside Phil Klemmer, went on to develop the spin-off series Legends of Tomorrow. With Guillermo del Toro, he co-wrote the pilot and several episodes of the award-winning animated series Tales of Arcadia, an original franchise created for Netflix from DreamWorks Animation, for which he won an Emmy in the category of "Best Writing for an Animated Series" and nominated for several others. He remained as Executive Producer throughout the series' three installments, Trollhunters, 3Below and Wizards: Tales of Arcadia. Marc Guggenheim IMDB Alex Keledjian Alex Keledjian is the creator of Project Greenlight, a documentary television series where executive producers Matt Damon and Ben Affleck gave first-time filmmakers a chance to direct their first feature film.   In 2018, Alex wrote and directed the film High Voltage starring David Arquette and Luke Wilson. Some of the best storytellers in the world led entire lives before getting into the writing business. It's the Gen V series premiere, plus Scorpion on SM-TAS, and so much more, on an all-new Superhero Show Show! The Superhero Show Show #501Gen V Series Premiere:Does the World Need Another Boys Show? The Gen V series premiere is here! The Boys, Amazon Prime's smash critical and commercial hit, is finally getting a spin-off show! The Gen V series premiere introduces us to God U, the number one superhero academy in the whole Boys universe. Here, young students can become television stars, detectives, or maybe even have a shot at one day joining the Seven. What happens in the Gen V series premiere? In the first two episodes, which are covered on this podcast, we meet Marie, who killed her family when puberty brought her superpowers; Cricket, who is a YouTube star in addition to a supes wannabe; and Golden Boy, played by an actor with a very famous last name. The Boys has a history of splitting the pod down gender lines, with the two boys loving it, and the two girls finding it offensive. Will Gen V do the same? Or will the girls find it slightly more appealing? Created by the creators of The Boys, but with some CW writers thrown in for good measure, maybe Gen V has more of a balance that everyone can enjoy? Maybe? What else do you guys talk about besides the Gen V series premiere?Next, it's time for Shushie season. The annual awards show for the best in comic book-based television begins here with the best ensemble cast of 2023. Last year's steamroller, Resident Alien, which won the Best Ensemble award, didn't air any new episodes this year, so it's anyone's game. In fact, none of the shows that we're nominated last year, including The Boys, Legends of Tomorrow, Loki, and Peacemaker, are elegible, so good luck to the five new nominees, all of which will be revealed in this episode!Only one other show came out this week, so it's another short Pull List, as Norman Reedus continues his ride through France on The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon. Finally, the Taste Buds returns to S-TAZmania to watch another episode of Spider-Man: The Animated Series, titled The Sting of the Scorpion! J. Jonah Jameson has hired absolute loser Mac Gargan to follow Peter Parker, in order to figure out what his connection to Spider-Man is. But when Gargan fails too many times, Jameson and a scientist decide to just throw Mac into a Super Scorpion Soldier-maker, and turn him into a monster.TV EPISODES AND FILMS DISCUSSED:GEN V #101Watch Gen V on Amazon Prime Congratulations. Today the Waverider is burning up the Temporal Zone running between the dystopian future the 2040's and the totally rad 1980's. Plus we had to play chicken with the Time Bureau. But we made it here to share our thoughts on Legends of Tomorrow season 3 episodes 3 & 4, “Zari” and “Phone Home.”   In “Zari” we head to 2042 because the Water Totem bearer Kuasa, is hopping through time to take out all of the Totem bearers. In this timeline A.R.G.U.S. is ruling with an iron fist. Meta's are outlawed and so is religion. Zari's family is in trouble for both. Zari's brother was the Wind Totem bearer, but he was killed. Gary sees he is no match for Kuasa ad calls for backup. The Legends arrive and rescue Zari. She agrees to help them if they free her brother. But it is all a ruse, she uses them to get the Wind Totem. We get to see all the Legends and Zari fight Kuasa. After Amaya & Nate's vision quest, Amaya learns she has to help Zari. Only then do they send Kuasa packing.   “Phone Home” has Ray being erased from time due to being killed in the 80's. Young Ray is as optimistic and friendly as his older self. That gets him into trouble when he befriends a baby Dominator. The men in black capture him and the baby. The Legends manage to stop them from killing young Ray, but they must reunite the baby with the queen before everyone suffers. We get to see a lot of cool 80's fashion, cars, and more. Zari & Ray do some bonding. It also gives Ray a chance to see his childhood in a different light. Jax and Mick find out that Stein has been stealing the jumpship and creating tech that communicates across time. They think it is to betray them to the Bureau. But it is really to communicate with Lily. They steal the jumpship and make it to the hospital in time to see Lily give birth to Ronnie.   These were two fun episodes. We got introduced to one of our favorite characters Zari 1.0 and we got a lot of insight into what made Ray who he is today.   Contact Information If you want to join in the discussion, you can submit feedback via email to TomorrowsLegendsPodcast@gmail.com. But as any actor will tell you, money becomes an important part of our career, whether you actually have it or not. It can inform the decisions we make and the opportunities we can or can't take advantage of, and at one point Jocelyn was $50,000 in debt because of acting expenses. She shares how she got out of debt, and what it taught her about the hustle needed to stay in this business. But as Jocelyn came to realize, family and personal life can mean so much more and are far more important than “making it” or not. Superman is off fighting Doomsday on the moon. So we have jumped in the Waverider. We decided to journey back to 2017 and learn some lessons from the Legends of Tomorrow.   We kick off our Season 3 rewatch with episodes 1 & 2. “Aruba-Con” brings the Legends into a world filled with anachronisms. Rip Hunter has established the Time Bureau to deal with them. Our team were given pink slips, kicked out of the Waverider, and forced to get real jobs. Things are not going well. Until Caesar shows up in Aruba to ruin Mick's vacation. The team goes head-to-head with the Bureau, steals back the ship, and saves the day. Well not on the first attempt. Rip convinces Ava to let them go, because they will be need in the fight with Mallus.   “Freakshow” sees the team steal Bureau tech and upgrade Gideon. They pick up Jax & Stein and Amaya. They head off to fix a level 1 anachronism and in true Legends style they mess things up. It was a great ep to see the literal sparing between Sarah & Ava. Plus, we got Billy Zane as P.T. Barnum.   We invite you to join us on this fun rewatch. We will cover 2 episodes of Season 3 on each podcast. We will do around 2 podcasts per month. DC's Legends of Tomorrow was one of The CW's most popular and critically acclaimed shows. Besides being very diverse for a mainline superhero show, it touched on almost every genre you could think of, and with its delightful cast and witty writers, both sets of whom are now on strike, it created something strikingly memorable. Along with her fellow co-showrunners, writer and co-showrunner Keto Shimizu was a pivotal part of making it the success it was. Many fans bemoaned its somewhat abrupt cancellation back in 2022. We caught up with Keto Shimizu after her panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2023, “Intro to TV Writing." Here, she and other writers from the Arrowverse discussed their creative process and what studios need to do help writers succeed. We discussed her career, whether there was a chance for Legends of Tomorrow if creators had a better deal with studios, how she brings her own experiences to the characters she writes and much more.

One of my all-time favourite shows, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, ended on a cliffhanger that juristically changes the whole Arrowverse. Since the Arrowverse is ending, it wouldn't really make sense. But the answer to the question "What are the legends gonna do now?" may just be the simplest explanation, and it may have nothing to do with the story itself. It's the end of an era as The Flash on CW comes to an end. It's been a wild ride with some really high highs and some really low lows. And that really sums up this final season as well. The final four episodes though did at least close the loop on themes from the entire show run so that's definitely some credit there. Are there things we wish that were done better? Absolutely? Did it feel like this season was filled with unnecessary tie-ins for other CW shows (And not the one we wanted *cough* Legends of Tomorrow *cough*)? Yup. But the show at least ends on the themes of family and Barry's growth with Iris which makes this at least a successful ending. It also makes us wonder what would have happened if not for all the interference from outside. Unfortunately we will never know. Instead we're left with hoping that the Flash movie turns out good and that the director realizes that Grant Gustin will always be the superior Barry Allen over Ezra Miller. While this is the end for The Flash and our Arrowverse coverage, it's not the end yet for Super Tuesday Recap. Before we shut this show down we're going back to the beginning and are going to do a rewatch/review of Agents of SHIELD from the beginning. Having choreographed his first film at the age of 19, he was quickly catapulted to acclaim and was brought onboard to develop epic stage productions for The Jonas Brother, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, Pitbull, Don Omar, Ciara, and many others.  His onstage work also includes creating and directing two mega tours of Sesame Street Live and two brand-new circus tours for Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey.     His body of choreographic work includes over 300 films and T.V. shows, an impressive feat for such a young artist. Some notable projects bearing his innovative stamp include: the 2019 Academy Award nominated film Ralph Breaks the Internet (Disney Animation), the Seth Rogan produced comedy Good Boys, Deadpool 2 (w/ Ryan Reynolds), Noelle (w/ Anna Kendrick & Shirley MacLaine), The Kissing Booth 1, 2 & 3 (Netflix), and the hit YA musical comedy A Week Away for Netflix.   Paul's T.V. work extends to Charmed, Hellcats, Legends of Tomorrow, and Riverdale for The CW, the National Geographic series Valley Of the Boom, American Horror Story: Hotel, Once Upon a Time for ABC, A Series of Unfortunate Events for Netflix, and The Magicians for SYFY. The Walt Disney organization has enfolded and integrated him into their creative workings, a blessing Paul cherishes daily. He has given life to several projects at Mouse Central that would bring any performance artist and collaborator boundless joy. His association with Disney began when he choreographed The Muppets': Wizard of Oz, followed by The Muppets' Christmas: Letters to Santa. His long-term relationship with them solidified as he was brought in to choreograph several films, from the hit remake of Adventures in Babysitting (w/ Sabrina Carpenter) to Girl vs. Monster (w/ Olivia Holt), and the record-breaking musical franchise Descendants, in which he and Ortega teamed up to choreograph and which was deemed a “YouTube breaking moment” recording billions of views. Additionally, his choreography can be seen in the films Overboard for MGM, the famed Twilight film series, Mirror Mirror (w/ Julia Roberts), Zack Snyder's Sucker Punch, and the worldwide phenom book series turned film series Diary of a Wimpy Kid Parts 1-3. In the world of variety T.V., he served as the producer and creative director for Canada's Got Talent, as well as a judge and choreographer on multiple seasons of So You Think You Can Dance Canada, and as a choreographer on Dancing with the Stars.

As May 1st draws closer, so too does the deadline for the WGA's (Writer's Guild of America) contract renewal - as well as the strike that will come if an agreement is not reached. In solidarity with the writers of some of their favorite television, the Legendary Ladies invited writers Ray Utarnachitt (DC'S THE LEGENDS OF TOMORROW) and Christina Walker (CW'S THE FLASH) for a round table discussion about the ins-and-outs of the challenge facing the Guild. The conversation moves from the basics, such as how the WGA works and what a strike authorization *actually* means, to the more complex issues, such as the changing landscape of residuals in a world where streaming is the new ‘name of the game' and how the industry shift to “micro” writing rooms creates an imbalance between the work required - and the pay received for it. Join in the fight with The Legendary Ladies and support and honor the WGA by listening, learning, and sharing the episode! Meet the guests! Ray Utarnachitt is a TV writer/producer. He is a Michigan native and like any good Asian student, was pre-med at the University of Michigan for 3 years. Much to his parents' dismay, he switched tracks and graduated with a Film degree. Ray broke into the business working in production on commercials, music videos, and features. He was a writer and Executive Producer on DC'S LEGENDS OF TOMORROW. He's also written for PERSON OF INTEREST, THE TOMORROW PEOPLE, THE FLASH, and SUPERGIRL. He is an alumnus of the Warner Bros. Writers Workshop. From period pieces to Sci-fi, supernatural genre to high-concept and action packed, Christina Walker''s unique background and diverse voice has led her to staff on a wide range series and all of those rooms highlight her as true value added. Most recently her talents have put her in the high-concept and action space having worked on Seasons 7 & 8 of CW'S THE FLASH.  ----------- Support Kat, Morgan, and Amy by subscribing to their Patreon to get exclusive access to after-show chats, extra episodes, and even a chance to advertise your own podcast, project, or company on the show!
