There is an honest-to-goodness positive message in JLA 36, "The Case of the Disabled Justice League", that I make sure to illustrate!  But lest you think I'm getting all serious on you all, I also make repeated jokes about Brain Storm's helmet, why Snapper Carr sucks at charity work, is stuttering THAT serious of a medical condition... and loads upon LOADS of Wrasslin' commentary!  If all this tickles your fancy, then by all means share your joy via email at justicesfirstdawning@gmail.com, or by leaving a comment on the podcast page!  Thank you all sincerely for your time!

Looks like we're due for a check-up from the doctor... Doctor Destiny, that is!  In "Justice League of America" 34, we have such delights as Destiny's REALLY convoluted threat against the JLA, some nifty handicapping apperatus that our team must overcome, a Snapper Carr appearance that will probably make all listeners want to slap the taste out of his mouth... and maybe the ONLY time on the show I'll make reference to Play-Doh!  All this, and more!  So unless you're fiddling around with your Dream Materiopticon, then please do make some time to leave some feedback!  You can either write me at justicesfirstdawning@gmail.com, or leave a comment on the podcast page!  Thanks for your time, as always!

Unless you're an impatient jerk like Snapper Carr in this issue, come join me as I detail for you the GRAND DEBUT of Ray "The Atom" Palmer in Justice League of America 14!  We see how a tiny person can hulk out, how Batman could feasibly legitimately get out of being mostly involved in the case, and are introduced to Aquaman's most LEGENDARY threat... The Sea Thief!  (Snicker)  All this, and the unholy menace of DOCTOR DAVIS!  (Double snicker)  So don't let that De-Memorizer affect your drive to leave some feedback to the show at justicesfirstdawning@gmail.com, or by dropping me a comment on the podcast page!  Thanks as always, dear friends!

Welcome to the House of Fun!  Now I've come of age!  Welcome to where Snapper Carr gets all tingly, where the love children of aliens and chimpanzees plot to collect probes containing 100,000 years of weapons knowledge, and where if your neck is slight extended, you forget EVERYTHING!  All this, and other weird observations, await you in my coverage of JLA 7, "The Cosmic Fun-House"!  Plus there's also listener feedback and miscellanery!  Should you wish to get in touch with the show... or even have your alien shape-shifting clone to do so... you can always write me at justicesfirstdawning@gmail.com, or leave a comment on the podcast page.  Thanks as always!

Suppose you weren't able to make the group meeting at work.  What might be your excuse?  You were busy being assaulted by cube aliens that have a toe-related weakness?  Hmm... How about a battle with your mentally controlled coworker?  No?  Trying to save a family from a gigantic "Old Yeller" moment?  Sigh... How about at least one panel travelling back in time to save the life of Benjamin Franklin?  Snapper Carr tells us what the OTHER JLA members were up to who weren't part of issue 50's battle against the Lord of Time in JLA 17: "Missing in Action -- 5 Justice Leaguers"!  Plus a reminder of the show schedule for the next 2 weeks... hint, I'll be away so there WILL be nothing... and your feedback!  Now, pretend this hiatus is MY absence from the JLA, and you want to get in touch with me!  By all means, I recommend you do so via the show's email account at justicesfirstdawning@gmail.com, or dropping me a comment on the podcast page.  Many thanks!

Defenders of the Faith, I have returned!  Through many real-life explanations I've provided in the episode, I've emerged for another solid month of podcasting.  And how do I mark my return?  ... By having that schmuck Headmaster Mind return to menace the JLA with his School of Criminology students, the Tattooed Man, the Top, and Matter Master, in Justice League of America 28.  The JLA protests the United Nations!  Stupid power-sapping batteries cause our heroes' powers to go haywire!  I even manage to note a DISTINCT absence of involvement by Snapper Carr in the issue!  All this, plus your feedback!  So, please make a brother feel welcome back on the scene once again, by leaving me some feedback via email at justicesfirstdawning@gmail.com or leaving me a comment on the podcast page, classicjla.podbean.com.  Thanks for your time and patience!

Denny O'Neil and Dick Dillin show up for another episode of JFD, and they're bringing Jack Ryder, AKA The Creeper, with them for my coverage of JLA 70, "Versus the Creeper"!  ... Only that title proves to be a tiny bit of a lie.  But we still get the JLA tackling alien forces!  Oh yeah... and we also have to read about Mind-Grabber Kid, a character that makes Snapper Carr almost Batman-like in terms of appeal!  All this, plus FINALLY my thoughts on "Wonder Woman", and more!  So if you're feeling lively, use those mind grabbing powers to send some feedback to justicesfirstdawning@gmail.com, or just leave me a comment on the podcast page!  Thanks as always!

It's going to be really emotional. It's going to be all about Oliver's family, but not the family we're thinking of right now. It's going to end in a giant explosion, but not where we think it's going to end, and the emotional punch is going to be bigger than the actual physical part of the bombs going off.” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/04/07/spoiler-room-arrow-blacklist-scandal/        ARROW: MANU BENNETT'S DEATHSTROKE WILL RETURN, CONFIRMS STEPHEN AMELL (Date: 10 April 2017) Before “Arrow” Season 5 thunders to its conclusion, Deathstroke will return to the series. On Twitter, star Stephen Amell confirmed that Manu Bennett will reprise his role as Slade Wilson. Executive producer Marc Guggenheim went on to confirm Bennett's return as well. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-deathstroke-manu-bennett-return-season-5/    Manu Bennett's Deathstroke Will Return To Arrow, Despite Actor's Denials (Date: 12 April 2017) Bennett had tweeted that on Monday that he wasn't returning to Arrow, and then followed it up yesterday with a tweet that read, "Enough b.s about d.s!!! FACT: Deathstroke Arrow are currently filming in Vancouver IS NOT ME. I am in Auckland filming The Shannara Chronicles." While Bennett was not currently filming Arrow, it seems that he is or will be at some point this week. The "other" Deathstroke was likely a stunt performer, there to shoot some scenes for which Bennett wouldn't have removed the character's trademark helmet. The statue features Diana in an action-ready pose, bracing for combat with her sword and shield in hand. The base suggests it will interlock with other statues, though on its own is rather boring. Still, the lush reds and rich golds and blues are stunning, and Kotobukiya always excels at sculpting hair. The statue also holds a well-crafted resemblance to Gal Gadot, who has her trademark golden lasso at her side. Wonder Woman will retail for 13,800 Yen, which translates to about $124 USD. She is shipping sometime in July of 2017. Rucka took to his Tumblr to tell fans that he would be leaving the title due to the strain of the twice-monthly schedule. Identifying it as his last issue on the title "for the time being," Rucka advised fans against assuming the worst and wrote, "I just can't maintain the pace on the title while also fulfilling my commitments to my other collaborators. It is, genuinely, as simple as that." Shortly thereafter, Sharp took to Facebook to confirm that he, too, would be leaving the title -- but cryptically teasing that he wouldn't be going too far. Fontana has signed on to write five issues of the twice-monthly series for the heroine, beginning with July's No. 26, with a storyline that will introduce a new villain into the DC Universe. The move comes fresh off the success of her DC Super Hero Girls work. The artist for Fontana's first two issues will be Mirka Andolfo, whose work has previously appeared in the DC Comics: Bombshells series. Fontana and Andolfo's first issue of Wonder Woman, No. 26, will be released in comic stores and digitally July 12, with No. 27 to be released July 26. The Justice Society of America was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox. The JSA first appeared in All Star Comics #3 (Winter 1940–1941). VIXEN - Probably the most recognizable member of the JSA's cast this time around was Vixen -- at least for fans of the CWverse. In addition to having her own animated series, Vixen -- an African-American woman who derives the power of animals from the Tantu Totem she wears around her neck -- had a memorable guest appearance on Arrow last season. Of course, that's all Mari. This woman? Mari's grandmother, Amaya Jiwe, who passed the totem down through their family. HOURMAN - Rex Tyler, also known as Hourman, is a Golden Age superhero and the first of a number of characters to use the Hourman name. Tyler has a number of superhuman abilities, like enhanced strength, reflexes, and healing -- but only for an hour at a time. His abilities are given to him by Miraclo, a drug he designed himself. There is an Hourman legacy including Rex's son Rick and an android from the 853rd Century programmed to act as a member of the Tyler family. The android, at a point in the past, presented Rex with an hourglass infused with tachyons -- time in its most basic form -- and that hourglass would become part of both his and Rick's costumes. Said hourglass has been seen on board the Waverider on previous episodes of DC's Legends of Tomorrow.. STARGIRL - Stargirl is Courtney Whitmore. In the TV series, she exists in 1942 -- but in the original comics, she was created (and existed) in 1999, and was part of a "next generation" of Justice Society members who came up in the late '90s and early 2000s. Courtney Whitmore was created by Geoff Johns and Lee Moder, and has a famous backstory: Johns named her after (and based her personality on) his sister Courtney, who died in the explosion of TWA Flight 800 in 1996. COMMANDER STEEL - Commander Steel is Hank Heywood, Sr., the first in a line of DC heroes to use variations on the Steel moniker. A legend in the World War II era and a member of the All-Star Squadron and later the Justice Society of America, Heywood's body had surgically-implanted mechanized steel devices that allowed his body to work on a superhuman level. Originally just "Steel," he was promoted to Commander Steel by President Roosevelt in 1940 -- so while this is his first appearance in live action, it's timeline-accurate to call him Commander Steel by this point in his career since the story takes place in 1942. DOCTOR MID-NITE - Doctor Mid-Nite is a name shared by a number of blind super-heroes and physicians with the ability to see in the darkness, using blackout bombs and martial arts to gain an advantage over criminals. Doctor Mid-Nite was created by Charles Reizenstein and Stan Aschmeier, first appearing in All-American Comics #25. OBSIDIAN - Obsidian is the son of Golden Age Green Lantern Alan Scott, a founding member of the JSA in the comics. He and his sister Jade would go on to play an important role in the Justice Society's sinoff groups the Young All-Stars and Infinity, Inc., as well as eventually joining the Justice Society itself. He was also briefly affiliated with the Justice League. LEAVENWORTH - The United States Penitentiary, Leavenworth is a medium-security United States federal prison for male inmates in northeast Kansas. On Arrow, it was revealed that Leavenworth is where John Diggle is being held while awaiting his court martial. KRIEGER - There are basically two figures who could have inspired Baron Krieger, even though there is no specific Baron Krieger in DC Comics. The first is Baron Blitzkrieg: Originally a World War II German army officer, the man who would be Baron Blitzkrieg was blinded when a concentration camp prisoner threw acid into his face. German scientists experimented on him, giving him injections of experimental drugs which would give him incredible powers for brief periods of time. The other possibility is Albrecht Krieger, who was basically Captain America, but for Nazis. A genetically-modified super-soldier, Krieger also had a mad scientist brother and a psychic  sister we might have to worry about if it's him -- and while the backstory feels a lot more like Blitzkrieg's, Krieger has not only the name but the general look of this week's threat. MAX LORENZ - Max Lorenz was a famous singer, who lived in Germany around the time of World War II and is widely known as "Hitler's favorite tenor." Of course, it's a handy thing that Legends of Tomorrow star Victor Garber has the pipes to make that scene convincing. UBERMENSCH - It's worth noting that there are several references to "Übermensch" in here, which is derived from Nietzsche in Thus Spake Zarathustra, one of the influences for Superman, which is more or less what the word translates to directly. The term can literally translate to "Overman," which in the DC Comics universe is an alternate-universe version of Superman who lives on an Earth where the Nazis won World War II.REVERSE-FLASH - Eobard Thawne, the Reverse-Flash, may have something up his sleeve. At the end of The Flash's Season 3 premiere earlier this month, he said that while his future was as it should be, Barry's might not be. Barry then went home to discover a number of small anomalies that made his life and those of his friends worse. Now, we learn that "somebody" is outfitting the villains of history with future tech in order to push the world to a slightly worse place. Could Eobard Thawne have stepped right out of "Flashpoint" and into "Out of Time?" Either way, seeing him and Darhk together is enough to make seasoned Arrowverse fans quake in their boots even before they know the other members of Thawne's little Legion of Doom. ARROW NEWS THE CW RENEWS ARROW, FLASH, SUPERGIRL AND LEGENDS OF TOMORROW (Date: 08 Jan 2017) Renewal will bring “Arrow” to Season Six, “The Flash” to Season Four, and “Supergirl” and “Legends of Tomorrow” each to Season Three. It will mark “Supergirl's” second season on The CW, following its freshman outing on CBS. However, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), still reeling from Detective Malone's murder, is bent on revenge – she wants to stop Prometheus at any cost. While in prison, Diggle (David Ramsey) fights for his life. Gregory Smith directed the episode written by Ben Sokolowski & Brian Ford Sullivan. Link:https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/arrow/laurel-lances-return-is-further-teased-in-synopsis-for-arrow-season-5-a147940    ARROW: THE CALCULATOR IS NOT RETURNING – YET (Date: 09 Jan 2017) According to executive producer Marc Guggenheim, Donna and the Calculator won't be back because the show is moving in a new direction. Guggenheim also teased that Felicity will a meet a few people in the back half of the season that are connected to her past. Additionally, he explained that Felicity's new, darker direction can't be blamed solely on Billy Malone's death. Rather, her experiences over the course of the show will culminate in her new attitude. “Billy was the final straw,” he said. “It's also the sum of the fact that Felicity has been living in this darker world for the last four-plus years now…. How has that affected her way of thinking about things?” He added that this will be directly addressed in Season 5 Episode 11. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-the-calculator-is-not-returning-yet/    ARROW: Greg Berlanti Teases More Appearances From Laurel Lance Across The CW (Date: 10 Jan 2017) While it hasn't been confirmed 100%, it's a pretty safe bet that this Laurel is the evil Black Siren from Earth 2, who was originally introduced in The Flash last year. While her motivations remain unknown, Arrow producer Greg Berlanti has teased the character's involvement in more than just the events of Arrow's fifth season. “We made a deal at the end of [season 4] to bring her back for a bunch of episodes. Katie is a part of the fabric of the show. Because the show, like a comic book, can move in different ways, and characters go and come, everybody that's ever been a part of the key and core ensemble has always had a place at the table for our show. There's the capacity for her to be [in all four shows]. At this moment, she's in three of them.” Link:https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/arrow/arrow-greg-berlanti-teases-more-appearances-from-laurel-lance-across-a148060     ARROW EPS ADMIT IT'S HARD TO DO THE SHOW WITHOUT A BLACK CANARY (Date: 11 Jan 2017) Co-showrunner Wendy Mericle said, “Look, it's hard to do a show about Green Arrow without having a Black Canary. I don't know if it will happen this season or when, but… we are going to be true to origins in the DC universe, and she's always going to be there.” So far on the show, three characters have carried the Canary name: Sara Lance, Laurel Lance and Evelyn Sharp. After trying to convince Rip of who he was, they discover that he possesses an incredibly powerful artifact known as the Spear of Destiny, which the Legion of Doom is after. Ray (Bradon Routh) and Nate (Nick Zano) realize that the Aberration has also affected them personally making it difficult to help the team.  Meanwhile, Rory (Dominic Purcell) asks Stein (Victor Garber) for help and makes him promise to keep it a secret from the team. Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also star. Dermott Downs directed the episode written by Keto Shimizu & Chris Fedak. Link: https://www.comicbookmovie.com/tv/dc/legends_of_tomorrow/the-mystery-surrounding-rip-hunter-is-revealed-in-new-a147939 NEW LEGENDS OF TOMORROW EPS WILL STAR A WHOLE DIFFERENT RIP HUNTER (Date: 10 Jan 2017) The back half of season two kicks off on Tuesday, January 24 after the show's winter hiatus. That batch of episodes starts with an episode titled “Raiders of the Lost Art,” which guest stars a young George Lucas (or rather an actor named Matt Angel playing a young Lucas) and features the return of Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill). But Rip won't return the same as we previously knew him. Marc Guggenheim talked about the upcoming episodes and how the Spear of Destiny will impact the show. “The second half of the season is really paying off the Legion of Doom and what we now know is the MacGuffin of Season 2, the Spear of Destiny,” said Guggenheim. “Changing time is like painting with the biggest paintbrush possible; using the Spear of Destiny is like using a very, very fine-point technical pen.” Link: http://www.cbr.com/new-legends-of-tomorrow-eps-will-star-a-whole-different-rip-hunter/   The Girl Of Steel Visits Another World In Synopsis For Kevin Smith's Episode Of SUPERGIRL (Date: 05 Jan 2017) KEVIN SMITH DIRECTS; ROULETTE RETURNS — Kara (Melissa Benoist) is moved by the story of a missing woman named Izzy (guest star Harley Quinn Smith) and decides to investigate despite Snapper Carr's (guest star Ian Gomez) order to leave it alone. Kara takes Mon-El (Chris Wood) with her to the last place Izzy was seen and the duo find themselves thrust through a portal to another planet, Slaver's Moon, where the downtrodden are sold as slaves. The leader of the trafficking ring is none other than Roulette (guest star Dichen Lachman). To make matters worse, Slaver's Moon has a red sun, which means Kara and Mon-El are stripped of their powers and stuck on the planet with no way home. Meanwhile, back on Earth, Alex (Chyler Leigh) blames herself for Kara's disappearance, fearing she's become too focused on her new relationship with Maggie (guest star Floriana Lima) and too complacent in watching out for her sister. Kevin Smith directed the episode with story by Andrew Kreisberg and teleplay by Eric Carrasco & Jess Kardos. When a criminal named Plunder (guest star Stephen Huszar) shows up in Central City, Barry recalls the villain's presence in his vision of the future and fears that if he catches Plunder, it will cement Iris' fate. Confused about Barry's hesitation to stop Plunder, Wally (Keiynan Lonsdale) decides to step in as Kid Flash. Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker) offers Julian (Tom Felton) a job. Millicent Shelton directed the episode written by Grainne Godfree & David Kob. According to executive producer Andrew Kreisberg, the two-part story will have lasting ramifications on both shows. According to Kreisberg. “When we get to the musical episodes, both Barry and Kara will find themselves at pivotal crossroads on their respective series, and the experience of going through the musical will have a great impact on both series moving forward.” Executive producer Greg Berlanti confirmed the villain will indeed be the Music Meister, who can control people through song. What's more, the musical crossover will feature original songs and could include characters from any Earth or timeline in the “Arrow”-verse. No date has been announced for “The Flash”/”Supergirl” crossover. Link: http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-flash-musical-will-have-great-impact-on-both-shows/   DC COMICS' SOLOVAR ARRIVES IN FLASH'S TWO-PART GORILLA CITY STORY (Date: 09 Jan 2017) “The Flash” is taking a trip to Gorilla City in episodes 13 and 14 of season three. The series will also introduce a new telepathic gorilla straight from the comics, Solovar. Keith David will provide the voice of Solovar in the Gorilla Grodd-centric two-parter. David is a film and television veteran with a career spanning decades. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg announced the return of Grodd and Gorilla City during a presentation at the TCAs. Kreisberg also revealed that the two-parter will span multiple Earths. “One of the episodes will take place in Gorilla City [on Earth-2], and one of them will take place on Earth-1.” In the comics, Solovar — a psychic gorilla like Grodd — is the leader of Gorilla City. Under his rule, Gorilla City became a technological wonder. Solovar's involvement in “The Flash's” Grodd/Gorilla City two-parter makes sense considering that Solovar is Grodd's main rival (other than the Scarlet Speedster) in the comics. Link: http://www.cbr.com/dc-comics-solovar-arrives-in-flashs-two-part-gorilla-city-story/   BLACK FLASH TO RETURN ON ‘MULTIPLE' ARROWVERSE SERIES (Date: 08 Jan 2017) As expected, “The Flash” viewers haven't seen the last of Hunter “Zoom” Zolomon. However, when the character returns, it may not only be on that CW drama — and he may not be portrayed by Teddy Sears. Transformed by time wraiths into Black Flash and then pulled into the Speed Force in “The Flash's” Season Two finale, the villain will indeed race back into the Arrowverse.“I will say that you might be seeing him on multiple shows,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg revealed at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour. He didn't say which shows those are, or when fans can expect Black Flash's return. “[Black Flash] is a classic character. We have storylines on multiple shows that fit having him around,” he said. “There's something so scary about him, something even scarier than when he was just the man, because now it's now he is the Grim Reaper, he is the devil. How do you stop the devil? So it presents an interesting challenge for the heroes of the respective shows in which he appears.” Link: http://www.cbr.com/black-flash-to-return-on-multiple-arrowverse-series/    ‘Constantine' Back As Animated Series For CW Seed With Greg Berlanti Producing (Date: 08 Jan 2017) Constantine, which had a one-season run on NBC, will be back as an animated series for CW Seed. Five to six 10-minute episodes have been ordered. Matt Ryan, who starred in the live-action DC series, will voice the title character. Link: http://deadline.com/2017/01/constantine-back-animated-series-cw-seed-greg-berlanti-producing-matt-ryan-1201880788/   SUPERGIRL CASTS PETER GADIOT AS MISTER MXYZPTLK (Date: 07 Jan 2017) A new photo from the set of the CW drama reveals that actor Peter Gadiot, who played Cyrus on ABC's short-lived “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,” has been cast as the classic Superman foe. However, we can see that the impish villain won't look anything like he does in the DC Comics source material, where he's traditionally depicted as an older, diminutive character. Created by writer Jerry Siegel and artist Ira Yarborough for 1944's “Superman” #30, Mister Mxyzptlk is a mischievous imp from the fifth dimension who delights in tormenting the Man of Steel. Link: http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-casts-peter-gadiot-as-mister-mxyzptlk/    THE CW HAS ‘NO PLANS' FOR A SUPERMAN SERIES (Date: 08 Jan 2017) “Tyler did a great job,” The CW President Mark Pedowitz said. “There's no plan to do a series. There are no plans at the moment for him to return [to ‘Supergirl']. If they wish to have him return, we'd love to have him.” Link: http://www.cbr.com/the-cw-has-no-plans-for-a-superman-series/   THE FLASH Will Weave Kid Flash, Killer Frost And Gypsy Story Arcs Into Remaining Season 3 Episodes (Date: 07 Jan 2017) Armed with that knowledge Barry and his allies will be frantically searching for ways to prepare for an inevitable second round with the God of Speed. As for the rest of Team Flash, the co-showrunner adds that Gypsy (played by the recently cast Jessica Camacho of Sleepy Hollow) will be playing an important adversarial role in Cisco's budding superhero career, Caitlin will continue to wrestle with her Killer Frost alter ego and Wally West will continue to fly off the handle and cause trouble as Kid Flash. Season two of Supergirl seems is a bit uneven. In episode four, “Survivors” we’ve got an alien fight club, an alien amnesty law that seems more like the MCU’s Sokovia Accords, more Snapper Carr, and Wynn carrying the light hearted tone of Supergirl entirely on his shoulders. Though this season has been a bit uneven so far, the themes Supergirl is tackling are both timely and important. Since this is sort of a second premiere season with the move to the CW we’re hoping things even out soon. Be sure to share your thoughts on this episode in the comments. We’d love to hear what you think of Supergirl and what you’d like to hear from us. Tune in to Supergirl every Monday at 8/7c on The CW, and join us every Wednesday for SuperTalk! He's small in the WWE world but he and Amell paired up well in fight scenes. Makes you realize in pro-wrestling he might be small but in life he's a big dude  CURRENT EPISODE DC EASTER EGGS & POP CULTURE REFERENCES  Season Episode  “A Matter of Trust” (Date:20 Oct 2016) Article:http://comicbook.com/2016/10/20/arrow-easter-eggs-and-other-things-you-might-have-missed-in-a-ma/   “A Matter of Trust” is the name of a Billy Joel song; Marc Guggenheim is a huge Billy Joel song. The song's title happens to fit this episode's theme. Stardust -  Stardust, the name of the drug in this week's episode, has some special resonance for guest star Cody Runnels, also known as Cody Rhodes, the WWE Superstar formerly known as Stardust. Cody Runnels - He's Runnels here, not Rhodes, in the opening credits. That's likely because he doesn't actually own the trademark to "Cody Rhodes," his stage name with the WWE. Since Rhodes's father was Dusty Rhodes, he and his brother took on the family name when they came into professional wrestling. Now that he's no longer a member of the WWE family, he might not have easy access to his actual family's stage name. John Jr, - This is the first on-camera reference to John Diggle, Jr. in Arrow. Last week on The Flash, fans learned that John Diggle, friend and former bodyguard to Oliver Queen, has a son -- and that was a surprise. That's right: Barry Allen's excellent "Flashpoint" adventure through time created the unintended consequence of giving John Diggle a son -- John Diggle, Jr. -- rather than the daughter -- Sara Diggle -- fans got to know after she was born in season 3 of the hit CW drama. Deadshot - Deadshot, a member of the Suicide Squad and the deadly assassin long thought to have murdered John Diggle's brother, showed up in a vision to Dig this week, haunting him for killing Andy himself last season. Susan Williams - Susan Williams is, in the comics, the sister-in-law of Hal Jordan, one of Earth's Green Lanterns. Created by John Broome and Gil Kane in the early days of the Silver Age Green Lantern titles, Susan was a bit of a rabble-rouser then, too; she ended up in a relationship with one of the Jordan brothers while digging around into who Green Lantern was. Falling into a vat of chemicals is similar to the origin of the Joker Adrian Chase - Adrian Chase is introduced this week. The hot-headed, good-looking district attorney is actually better known as Vigilante in the comics.Created during Marv Wolfman's time on the New Teen Titans, Vigilante in the comics is a former New York district attorney who's set on the path of justice after his family is killed by the mob. The CW describes him similarly: Chase is "Star City's new district attorney and an ally of Mayor Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell), who aims to clean up the streets through the legal system." “You have failed this city” make an appearance - like season 1 Lethal Weapon - Stardust burns his arm Terry Sloane - This week, we finally got to see Curtis suit up, going into the field in his Mister Terrific costume for the first time. He hasn't yet identified himself using the "Mister Terrific" name, although he did namecheck Terry Sloane -- the Golden Age Mr. Terrific from the comics -- as his inspiration (and the inspiration for the "Fair Play" jacket he wears). Trope of cool guy walking toward camera with explosion in background Oliver thinking Wild Dog's hockey mask is “cool” is likely a reference to Amell's role of Casey Jones in ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.' Curtis calls it the “Arrowcave” ARROW NEWS:   Arrowverse Crossover is ‘very, very faithful' to DC's Invasion!  (Date: 14 Oct 2016) Marc Guggenheim promises that the crossover will be faithful to the story in the comics. In the comics, the Dominators assemble a coalition of extraterrestrial races to invade Earth, with the goal of eliminating the threat posed by metahumans. Unknown to their allies, the Dominators intend to harness the metagene and create their own army of metahumans. Guggenheim says that the crossover will be “just big, bombastic, huge action.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrowverse-crossover-is-very-very-faithful-to-dcs-invasion/   Who are the Dominators? The Arrowverse crossover villains explained (Date: 15 Oct 2016) This article is a good look at the villains of the upcoming crossover between “Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Legends of Tomorrow.” and “Supergirl.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/who-are-the-dominators-arrowverses-crossover-villains-explained/   Arrow's ‘Human Target' synopsis calls in Christopher Chance  (Date: 15 Oct 2016) The November 2nd episode is titled “Human Target.” In this episode, Oliver will call an old friend for help. Wil Traval (Jessica Jones) will play Christopher Chance, aka the Human Target, a private investigator and bodyguard who assumes the identities of clients mark for assassination. This is not the Human Target's first TV appearance. Rick Springfield starred as Christopher Chance on a short-lived drama that aired in 1992 on ABC, and FOX aired its adaptation in 2011, which starred Mark Valley (John Scott on Fringe). Link:http://www.bleedingcool.com/2016/10/17/comic-book-history-ragman/   ‘Arrow' boss on Diggle's dire predicament (Date: 10 Oct 2016) Diggle will soon discover that Chechnya is the wrong place to find his moral compass, leading to Diggle's return to Star City. Diggle's storyline will carry into episode 12, so it will be a major part of the season. Link:http://www.ew.com/article/2016/10/18/arrow-diggle-arrested-spoilers?xid=entertainment-weekly_socialflow_twitter   Guggenheim reveals Captain Cold's ‘Legends' return, talks ‘Arrow's' 100th episode (Date: 18 Oct 2016) Marc Guggenheim discusses Captain Cold's return to ‘Legends,' which will be in that show's midseason finale, episode 208, but how he returns hasn't been revealed. Also, Cold will be part of the Legion of Doom. The 100th episode of ‘Arrow' promises to be big with appearances by John Barrowman as Merlin and Neal McDonough as Damian Darhk; the 100th episode will also be part of the big crossover, but Guggenheim says that the 100th will be ‘Arrow'-centric. However, the show was up against football and MLB's World Series Link:http://www.cbr.com/legends-of-tomorrow-ratings-dip-for-season-2-premiere/ Michelle The Flash EP describes Caitlin Snow's relationship with her mom (Date: 15 Oct 2016) Flash spoiler: In an upcoming episode, we will meet Caitlin's mother, Dr. Tannhauser (guest star Susan Walters), a renowned biomedical researcher. Caitlin will seek out her mother's help as she continues to transform into Killer Frost. It also covers why the writers have backed off from the Jimmy/Kara romance, how Kara's new boss, Snapper Carr is different from Cat, and the tension between Mon-El and Kara. Link:http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-ep-on-whether-cat-grant-knows-karas-secret-identity/   Chris Mirror Master debuts in new Flash promo (Date: 19 Oct 2016) The Rogues are back for next week's episode of “The Flash” — or the “New Rogues,” — as the episode is titled. “Star Crossed” actor Grey Damon makes his DC Comics debut as the infamous Mirror Master. The Top, played by Ashley Rickards, will also be appearing, alongside the very familiar, very missed face of Captain Cold. When Mirror Master and The Top go looking for Cold, they'll run into a little trouble with The Flash and his new speedster-in-training, Jesse Quick. Link:http://www.cbr.com/mirror-master-debuts-in-new-flash-promo/   Chris How Supergirl gets into the Crossover (Date: 20 Oct 2016) The 100th episode will, in fact, be part 3 of that crossover, and executive producer Marc Guggenheim recently spoke to Collider on how Supergirl is fitting in with the Arrowverse.  "Last year, Supergirl established that The Flash was able to make his way to what I call Earth-CBS, and it stands to reason that with the proper breach technology, the reverse can happen. Once the heroes realize that they're up against aliens, they decide that they need an alien on their side and, fortunately, Barry knows a really nice one. I don't think it's a big shock that, between Barry and Cisco, and all of their experiences with Earth-2 and the multi-verse, that they can pluck her from Earth-CBS." Link: http://comicbook.com/2016/10/20/how-arrow-episode-100-fits-inside-the-supergirl-crossover/   Chris Mark Hamill Dressed Like The Joker on Flash Set? (Date: 20 Oct 2016) Hamill was spotted on the set of The Flashl ooking decidedly Joker-esque. Considering that Flash is currently exploring an alternate timeline in its "Flashpoint" season, it's possible this is a Joker inspired alternate version of the Trickster. Or maybe, just maybe, many fans will get their wish and finally see Hamill take the role of the Clown Prince of Crime into live action. Link:http://www.newsarama.com/31656-why-is-mark-hamill-dressed-like-the-joker-on-the-set-of-the-flash.html   Michelle Hot Topic's New DC-Based Jackets Look Sort of Great (Date:20 Oct 2016) Hot Topic is introducing new jackets based on the DC TV shows including Gotham, The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl.
