Eugene Suen (@eugenesuen) is back for second-straight year of Oscar-picking fun. Eugene perfectly predicted the 2017 Oscars, including the Best Picture flub! He's on track to replicate those high standards this year by again taking us through the nominees and giving his opinions not only on what will win, but what he thinks should win. If you can picture it, it was an animated conversation that will surely be the soundtrack to that documentary you call your "day." Follow Eugene Suen on twitter @EugeneSuen, and check out his improv team Belly Belly, and the excellent Almond Tree Films almondtreefilms.com. While you got this lil' window open why not give us a little star rating, and maybe even a review on Apple Podcasts? It's fun to review things. @convincemepod on twitter. This is the second episode of In Great Company Podcast, where our host Eugene Suen interviews actor, writer, director & executive producer Justin Chon about his latest Sundance Film Festival Audience Award winning feature 'Gook'. Chon plays Eli, the Korean American shoe store owner at the center of “Gook” who finds the epithet scrawled across his car one morning. It’s a symbol of the hatred targeted at the Asian immigrants who flocked to L.A. in the 1970s and ‘80s, opening businesses in predominantly African American and Latino communities. Special Thanks to the #WeOwnThe8th community for making this interview happen. #WeOwnThe8th is a community whose mission is celebrating, uplifting, and owning the Asian American narrative in media and pop-culture.
