Hello Witches The Buck Moon rises at the height of summer when the forests and fields are alive with abundance and the stag carries his newly grown antlers. In this month's Full Moon episode we are exploring the deeper symbolism of the Buck Moon and what this powerful lunar phase invites us to reflect upon. Together we will journey through its folklore, mythology and spiritual meaning discovering why the stag has become such a powerful symbol of renewal, resilience and personal sovereignty. We will also explore the deities and spirits traditionally connected to this moon including Cernunnos, Herne the Hunter, Pan, Artemis, Diana and the mythical Norse stag Eikthyrnir whose antlers were said to nourish the rivers of the world. We will touch upon the earth spirits and fae associated with this season and consider how the natural world mirrors our own inner cycles of growth. I hope this episode encourages you to honour how far you have already come, celebrate your own becoming and remember that just like the stag, your greatest strength often grows quietly before the world ever sees it. The wheat cannot become bread while it remains standing in the field, the fruit must be picked before it begins to nourish. Every harvest asks us to release one form so that another may emerge. Lammas reminds us that growth is not only about planting new seeds but is also about recognising what has fulfilled its purpose and having the courage to let it go. Together we will explore what we have cultivated over the past year, celebrate the blessings already ripening in our lives and gently ask ourselves what we are ready to release so that something even more meaningful can flourish. As the Wheel of the Year begins its slow turn towards autumn, Lammas invites us to pause before the rush of the coming seasons. It asks us to acknowledge how far we have come, gather the wisdom we have earned and consciously choose what we wish to carry forward. Together we will explore how folklore has shaped our understanding of the world for centuries, uncover the archetypes that continue to guide us today and discover that the stories we return to are often mirrors reflecting our own journeys of becoming. Whether you have always loved fairy tales or have never looked beyond them as childhood stories I hope you will discover that behind every enchanted forest, witch's cottage and magical transformation lies timeless wisdom that still speaks to us today. We will explore - The stories we inherit and the stories we choose to live by Discover how the narratives we tell ourselves quietly shape our lives and why changing your story may be the first step towards changing your future. The archetypes that live within us Meet the Wild Woman, the Witch, the Wise Woman, the Maiden, the Crone and the Fairy Godmother exploring how these timeless figures continue to guide us through different seasons of our lives. Folklore as a map for transformation We will uncover why fairy tales were never simply entertainment but symbolic maps leading us through initiation, grief, courage, love, shadow and rebirth. The hidden language of symbols Why do forests, wolves, mirrors, apples, keys and rivers appear again and again in folklore? Together we will look at the symbolic language that has woven through myths and fairy tales for centuries. A deep dive into a beloved fairy tale Together we will journey into one traditional fairy tale uncovering its forgotten folklore, symbolism, magickal correspondences and the wisdom hidden between its pages. A guided journey to Baba Yaga's hut Deep within the forest you will meet the ancient witch herself, who will reveal the story that is ending, the story waiting to be written and the archetype currently walking beside you. We are officially into the second half of the baseball season, with plenty of games in the books, and it feels great to be BACK! This episode is packed with Takeaways and Quirkjians, led by the Boston Red Sox. Tim Kurkjian is still trying to figure out exactly what’s happening with this team — because somehow, the story looks completely different than it did just three weeks ago. James Wood and the Nationals/Athletics series have us scratching our heads, while Victor Martinez and Logan Webb also make their way into this week’s Quirkjians. For On This Date in Baseball History, we take a look back at Gaylord Perry and Hank Aaron. Jeff brings up an interesting question about Hank Aaron’s final home run that you may have wondered about too. Stephen Strasburg shares a birthday with our friend and former guest Dan Shaughnessy, and Tim shares a story from a recent speech Dan gave that had him laughing so hard he was nearly on the floor. Which makes us wonder… didn’t Tim Kurkjian already know every baseball story ever told? Turns out, not this one! We also spin the Wheel of Kurkjian, so be sure to send in your suggestions on our website. Finally, Team Tim is becoming more like Team Shannon, thanks to a genius idea from a member of our family. As Jeff mentioned during the show, please subscribe or follow wherever you watch or listen — it helps us out more than you know. Part 2 of the Attachment Wounds & Erotic Emotions SeriesMaybe you have a tendency to intellectualize or spiritualize your experience, but not always fully feel it. Or maybe you can only really arrive in your body when something intense is happening. This episode is about how that happens, how it shapes your erotic needs and the way you show up in intimacy, and what to do about it, if you choose. The safety wound is the earliest developmental wound we're covering in this series. It shows up in desires, in relationship, and in sex, plus in every day life where people with this wound have a tendency to dissociate. This episode is Part 2 in the Attachment Wounds and Erotic Emotions series — if you haven't listened to Episode 130 yet, start there first. What Is the Safety Wound? Origins and Early DevelopmentThe safety wound forms in the very first stage of life — from the womb through infancy, before language, and before verbal memory as we know it. The unmet need is fundamental: a sense that the world is safe to exist in, and that the body is a safe place to be.The causes can include traumatic birth, early separation from a birth mother through adoption or loss, time in a NICU, parental anxiety or depression, domestic chaos, overwhelming or unpredictable environments, or generational trauma. Often nothing was done consciously or intentionally. The body simply learned, very early, that being present was dangerous — and dissociation became the primary survival strategy. This pattern is recognized across multiple psychological traditions. In Hakomi, it's called the Sensitive-Withdrawn pattern. In the Neuroaffective Model (NATouch and NARM), it's the Connection survival style. In the Somatica Institute® framework, it's the UnSAFE wound. Different names, same consistently observed pattern — and none of them mean anything is wrong with you. This is just a coping style, and it carries some challenges that can be worked with. We'll also cover here:What the Safety Wound Feels Like: Dissociation, Floating, and Empathy OverloadHow the Safety Wound Shapes Erotic DesiresThe Safety Wound in Intimate Relationships and SexHealing the Safety Wound: Coming Back to Your BodyIn this episode:What the safety wound is, where it comes from, and why it forms so early — before language, before memoryWhy dissociation here is a brilliant survival adaptation, not a pathology — and how I recognized it in my own experienceHow this wound is named across Hakomi, NARM, and the Somatica Institute® framework — and why the older Freudian label is worth leaving behindWhat the safety wound feels like from the inside: the floating quality, the empathy overload, the pull toward intellectualizing and spiritual bypassing — and the deep current of pain, fear, or rage that often lives underneathHow the safety wound shapes erotic desire through two pathways: resolution (craving calm, merged, held, contained, seen) and repetition with agency (craving intensity, edge, risk, primal)Why craving dangerous or intense experiences in a chosen context makes complete sense for this wound — and why felt safety is still the prerequisite, even for the edgy stuffWhat the safety wound looks like in relationships: the connection that arrives and quietly disappears, and what partners tend to experience in bedWhat healing looks like for this wound — embodiment first — and why somatic work is more relevant here than therapy or spirituality aloneCompanion resource for this series: The Wheel of Erotic Emotions → laurajurgens.com/wheelTopics: safety wound, attachment wound, dissociation and intimacy, dissociation and desire, not in your body during sex, childhood trauma and sexuality, somatic sex coach, somatic intimacy coach, intimacy coach, erotic emotions, erotic desires, attachment and desire, childhood wounds relationships, sensitive withdrawn attachment, connection survival style, attachment, healing dissociation, embodiment and desire, feminist sex coachGet my free guide: Get Out of Your Head: A Starter Guide to Releasing the Pressure, Shame, and "Shoulds" Around Intimacy at https://laurajurgens.com/guideMore links: Substack at https://laurajurgens.substack.com/Pleasure Path Diagnostic here: https://laurajurgens.com/diagnostic/About me, testimonials, blog, bookings: https://laurajurgens.com/Wheel of Erotic emotions, go to: https://laurajurgens.com/wheelCopyright notice: All content in this podcast is copyrighted and copying, scraping, data mining, or using the content to train AI is prohibited.

    The White Witch Podcast

Join me on today's episode as we explore the ancient Sumerian goddess Inanna, one of the oldest and most fascinating deities in recorded history. Together we will journey through the myth of her descent into the Underworld, explore her other surviving myths and discover how you can begin working with her in your own spiritual practice and why you may feel called to do so. We will also discuss what Inanna's descent can teach us about navigating our own personal underworlds during times of loss, transformation and rebirth. Finally we will delve into her intriguing connections with Hermetic philosophy and the enduring theories that link the Sumerian gods to extraterrestrial origins. Our book review is Cackle by Rachel Harrison. Resources referenced are Descent & Rising – Womens stories and the embodiment of the Inanna myth by Carly Mountain. Together we will walk winding woodland paths, meet witches at the edge of the forest, uncover forgotten parts of ourselves and explore the archetypes that have guided us for centuries. Throughout the month we will explore the stories we inherit and the stories we tell ourselves, archetypes such as the Wild Woman, the Witch, the Wise Woman, the Maiden and the Crone, the role folklore plays in personal transformation, how stories act as mirrors revealing hidden truths about ourselves, a deep dive into a traditional folktale and the wisdom hidden within it, a guided journey through the forest to meet Baba Yaga in her hut on chicken legs, where she will reveal the story that is ending, the story waiting to be born and the archetype guiding your path and a printable Storytellers Grimoire filled with reflections, prompts and exercises to help you uncover your own personal myth. Folklore was never simply entertainment. These stories survived because they carried wisdom. They were maps of the human experience guiding us through grief, transformation, initiation, love, loss, power and becoming. This month we will step inside those stories and discover what they still have to teach us. https://patreon.com/TheHedgeandHollow?utm_medium=unknown&utm_source=join_link&utm_campaign=creatorshare_creator&utm_content=copyLink For PR, Media, general enquiries please email me at carly@thewhitewitchcompany.co.uk Find me on Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/thewhitewitchpodcast/?hl=en-gb   Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. [Content Warning]: Discussions of childhood trauma, addiction, feelings of isolation, abandonment wounds What does it actually take to heal, not manage, not cope, but truly heal, from the wounds we carry from childhood? In this episode of Trauma Interrupted, Jan Broberg sits down with Jessica Baum, licensed mental health counselor, founder of the Relationship Institute of Palm Beach, and author of the new book SAFE, to explore what the neuroscience of healing really tells us.  Jessica brings her expertise in interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory to some of the questions survivors ask most: Why can't I just heal on my own? Why do my closest relationships feel the most unsafe? Why do I keep repeating the same patterns no matter how many self-help books I read?  The answer, she explains, lives in the body, in streams of implicit memory laid down long before we had words for what was happening to us. And the path is not a solo one. Healing, Jessica argues, requires at least one anchoring relationship: a safe nervous system to hold space while we revisit and integrate what we could not process alone.  Jan shares her own journey openly in this conversation, her experience of intergenerational trauma, the abandonment wounds she carried into adult relationships, and the moment when being truly believed by another person accelerated her healing in ways decades of effort had not.  Jessica also introduces her free Wheel of Attachment tool and a 40-minute bonus conversation with her mentor Bonnie Badenoch. In this episode of Shift AI, Jared Wray, CEO and co-founder of Hyphen, joins host Boaz Ashkenazy for a wide-ranging conversation on how AI is poised to eliminate the complexity of cloud infrastructure and the DevOps role entirely.Jared shares his unconventional career journey from growing up in a small town in Idaho, where technology barely existed, to washing dishes at 15, teaching himself programming at the local ISP, and eventually founding five startups across cloud computing, energy tech, and developer infrastructure. From bootstrapping Tier 3 (acquired by CenturyLink) to co-founding Palmetto, now one of the largest energy lenders in the nation, Jared's path has been defined by a passion for solving infrastructure problems. The conversation dives deep into why DevOps has become painfully complex, with developers needing to glue together seven to thirteen different services just to deploy a single application across providers like AWS, Google Cloud, and Cloudflare. Jared explains how Hyphen is using AI to abstract away this complexity by asking developers only for business rules like uptime requirements and performance needs, then letting the AI determine the right architecture, deploy it, and operate it autonomously.Boaz and Jared explore why tools like Claude Code and other coding agents still cannot handle the full deployment lifecycle, what it would look like if AI agents replaced PagerDuty by calling you during an outage with a diagnosis and recommendation, and why the future of infrastructure is an autonomous cloud where humans are decision makers and agents handle everything else. The episode closes with a forward-looking discussion on agent-only companies, the death of cloud certifications, and why Jared believes DevOps was a good idea that we ran too long. This episode is essential listening for CTOs, platform engineers, and startup founders who want to understand how AI is moving beyond writing code to fundamentally transforming how software is deployed, operated, and scaled.Chapters[00:00] From Pocatello to Five Startups: Jared's Career Journey[02:49] Building Fonz, Co-founding Palmetto, and Finding Passion in Infrastructure[06:05] Why AI Led Jared Back to Infrastructure with Hyphen[07:05] First Job as a Dishwasher and Breaking Into Tech[08:46] What Is DevOps and Why Does It Exist[10:49] Why Cloud Infrastructure Has Become So Painfully Complex[12:36] How AI Can Apply Best Practices Without Reinventing the Wheel[14:35] The Hyphen Developer Experience: Business Rules Over Architecture[17:14] Why Claude Code and Coding Agents Cannot Solve Infrastructure Yet[20:26] The Full Context Problem: Operating Across Multiple Cloud Providers[23:07] Autonomous Cloud: When Agents Talk to Agents[24:17] Replacing PagerDuty: AI Agents That Call You During Outages[28:47] March Madness, Live Streaming, and Why Five Minutes Feels Like a Lifetime[30:59] Two Words for the Future of Work: Autonomous Cloud[33:20] Agent-Only Companies and Why Humans Will Be CEOs[35:12] DevOps Was a Good Idea We Ran Too Long[35:41] What Is Next for HyphenConnect with Jared WrayLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/jaredwray/Email: jw@hyphen.aiConnect with Boaz AshkenazyLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/boazashkenazy/Email: info@shiftai.fm

“Who's going to drive?” That was the question Dave and I were debating. And after the debate was over, we got a pretty good laugh out of it. Dave was new on our staff in the New York area at the time, and soon after he arrived we got, shall we call it, an “enlightened” look at each other's personality. We were headed up to this retreat center for a day of prayer and planning, and we got to the parking lot and said in unison, “Well, who's going to drive?” It turned out we both wanted to. As we talked about that during the trip, we started to analyze why we both hate to ride and why we both love to drive. I guess it's often true of people in leadership; we like to be able to control where things are going, and how fast we're going to get there. Well, of course, we ended up falling all over each other saying, “You drive,” “No, you drive,” “No, you drive.” You know what? That's not such a bad idea. I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about “Letting Go of the Wheel.” Our word for today from the Word of God: we're in Numbers 13:16 - a turning point in the life of one of God's great leaders, Joshua. One reason He was great might be because of what happened on this particular day. “These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land” the Bible says. And then it just talks about one of them. “Moses gave Hoshea the name Joshua.” You might look at that and say, “This is sort of like a genealogy; it's just a name thing, right? Why is that important? Hoshea…Joshua, who cares? As you know, when God changes someone's name in the Bible, it's always important. You have to know what the words mean in order to understand the significance of it. Hoshea, which was his given name, means “deliverer.” The name that he was changed to, Joshua – the name by which we know him – means “salvation is from the Lord.” In essence, Joshua grew up with the name saying, “I deliver.” Moses said, “No, I want to change your name to “God delivers.” I think Joshua realized after that that he was not the controller. He wasn't meant to drive. That's especially significant if you tend to be a controlling person. Are you the type of person who tries to control your children's lives a little bit so they'll do what you think they should? Or maybe you try to control your mate so he or she will do what you think they should. Or you try to control the people you work with or who work for you. Are you the kind of person who decides what the outcome should be, and then maybe you sort of manipulate whatever you have to in order to make that outcome happen? Your attitude, because you are a leadership type person, is “It's up to me. Hey, I've got to make it happen!” Aren't you getting tired? Aren't you worn out from trying to do God's job? I've gotten that way. He changed Hoshea, “I have to deliver,” to Joshua, “the Lord delivers.” So Joshua would never forget who wins the battles. And that's true of your battles now too. You know, I've been driving at times when my wife could tell that I was probably about to fall asleep at the wheel no matter what I tried. And she'd just keep going, “You want me to drive? Would you let me drive?” Probably just before we became a National Safety Council statistic, I'd pull over and I would let her drive. And boy, I was asleep before we pulled away from the side of the road. God's been saying for a long time, “Let go of that wheel. If you keep driving you're going to crash this thing. Would you let go of the wheel?” Maybe God's saying you were never meant to drive. Why don't you become Joshua - the Lord delivers? Let go of the wheel! Hear God saying, “Relax and leave the driving to Me!”

That thing that turns you on but you've never quite been able to explain? Or the relationship dynamic you keep recreating? Those aren't random. And they aren't fully explained by your attachment style. This is the introduction episode for a series on attachment wounds and erotic desires. Before we get into the specific wound patterns, I'm laying the foundation — what attachment styles actually are, where they fall short, and how to understand attachment patterns beyond the standard (avoidant, anxious, disorganized or secure) boxes. We'll talk about how our childhood experiences and specific attachment wounds tend to lead to specific turn-ons. Plus, why that's good news and will help you de-shame your desires. In this episode:Why attachment styles are learned habits, not personality traits or life sentencesHow your attachment response shifts depending on who you're with, how they communicate, and the specific felt safety of that relationshipWhy the anxious/avoidant label doesn't capture the full picture — and what the deeper wounds underneath those patterns actually areA preview of the five developmental wounds this series explores: safety, dependency, trust, autonomy, and worthThe core skills that underlie secure attachment — and why they're learnable, not fixed traits reserved for people who had easier childhoodsHow early unmet needs shape not just your relational patterns but your specific erotic desires — and why that connection makes complete sense once you see itCompanion resource for this series: Dr. R. TFL Shotgun Fest 2026 is coming to central Minnesota this July, and this year two shotgun Hall of Famers are teaching the clinics. Steve Gould joins Nick to walk through the whole weekend. On this episode, host Nick Larson brings back Steve Gould, creator of the Target Focused Life YouTube channel and part-owner of the Alexandria Shooting Park, to preview the second annual TFL Shotgun Fest. The event runs Friday, July 24 (development day plus VIP night) and Saturday, July 25 (the main shooting day) at the Alexandria Shooting Park in central Minnesota. The headline this year is the talent. Corey Cruz, a two-time national champion, world champion, and National Sporting Clays Hall of Fame inductee, is running sporting clays clinics. Richard Marshall Jr., a 35-time All-American and multiple Grand American winner on the trap side, is running trap clinics. Both are kept small on purpose: five shooters per session, half a day, real range time and real feedback. Del Whitman is on-site doing gun fittings. Beyond the clinics there are manufacturer demos where you can get hands-on and actually shoot a rack of different shotguns, an Upland Gun Company booth with a new RFM shotgun to see, and over $10,000 in prizes, including a custom 250th-anniversary shotgun for high overall. Then there's the unconventional stuff Steve's crew is known for: the Can Cannon Challenge, the Benelli AI Challenge, and the Wheel of Shotgun Fortune. The day closes with an Annie Oakley tournament and a social hangout. There's a thread running under all of it that matters more than the prize wall. Steve talks about how people are starved for in-person connection, and how an event like this is really about getting folks who love shotguns in the same place for a weekend. We also get into Steve's first trip to Italy and the Benelli and Perazzi factories, the Minnesota high school trap tournament that ran 7,700 kids through the range, a good stretch on barrel length and gun fit, and the ShotTracker training tool that might one day track a flushing grouse. Clinics, camping, and tickets are limited, so check the website for current availability. The band comes back as the sun dips down and treats us to a couple of their newer songs, starting with 'Victim or the Crime'. They lighten the mood with a fine 'Foolish Heart', which flows into one of my favorite Brent tunes, 'Just a Little Light'. Knowing this was one of the last shows Brent ever played, I'm especially grateful to have seen him that final time. A wonderful 'Scarlet > Fire' follows—perfect for this sizzling day—and Jerry is absolutely sizzling on it. 'Drums' and 'Space' come next and lead nicely into a heartfelt 'Wheel'. Things ramp up with 'Gimme Some Lovin', again punctuated by great contributions from Brent. A soulful 'Stella Blue' follows, and the crowd falls completely silent, hanging on every verse.
