Alright! Thanks for checking in CA, MI, KS, OH, TX and wherever you may be today. You are not listening to this by accident. Most of you are very striving to get more real and pursue some Truth. Implement what works on this broken planet and avoid what doesn't. We got 2 plays of the week for you! 2! Double your money. Going to start off things with Gemechis Buba talking about 'Horizontal vs. Vertical' thinking and your mindset in life. Then going to relay it back to Dr. Bryan Lorrits. He is quickly becoming an All-Star FriDude and a favorite here. You get to break it down and implement as you wish. If you dig, more details on where to find their entire messages, links, etc. Here you go...I love Gemechis' take on 'Horizontal vs. Vertical' thinking. Which way do you lean more? Clearly, we are all about getting more vertical. Are you familiar with that saying street smart and book smart. Horizontal really explains them. Think of a college professor or that super smart kid in school. So book smart, yet can be so clueless in other ways. So here is a concept that I bet not many have heard. Are you God Smart? Jesus Smart? Holy Spirit Smart? That would be the vertical thinking that Gemechis was talking about. If that sounds silly to you then it's fair to say you are definitely more horizontal and relying on this broken planet to satisfy you - which will eventually be abject failure. You are putting our faith to flaws and flawed people. So for the vertically inclined, that is why you are here. You are seeking wisdom. You are intrigued or fully engaged with the vertical. God is the ultimate source of wisdom. You need to crack the book, the Owner's Manual, and then ask for understanding. And then it starts popping and it will for the rest of your life. It is that fact of why we have the 'Deeper Series'.As for Finishing Well, I love Dr. Bryan Lorrits' style. He uses the vertical to explain how to navigate the challenges of the horizontal. You have a 100% chance of dying from something. If you believe in the Bible, you know it says that will give an account for our life here. So of course, finish well. Finish strong. It is our goal to keep encouraging you to do that. As promised, if you would like to listen to the entire message of Bryan and Gemechis. For Bryan, search for the Bryan Lorrits podcast, "Finishing Well" published on August 27, 2020. For Gemechis Buba, you can find his message at Hosannalc.org, 'James - Week 5' published on August 30, 2020.Ending on a song note, you want to go more vertical? What you tune into will help determine that. This is "Yes I Will" by Vertical Worship. If you dig, please add it to your going more vertical playlist. Now, go, get more vertical, love, serve...

Bryan Callen and today's guest, Caroline Criado-Perez, have very different feeeeeeelings about the word feminism. For Bryan, feminism is a bit of a dirty word which he associates with well-meaning but misguided Social Justice Warriors on a crusade to remake the world in denial of the facts. For Caroline, feminism is a noble cause that aims to make the world fair and equal for all regardless of gender. And yet, in spite of their feelings about the word feminism, the case that Caroline makes in her latest book "Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men" is so compelling that Bryan and Caroline found themselves agreeing on the premise of her book. From medicine to the design of smartphones to bathroom allocation to the temperature of office spaces, the world is based on the assumption that an ordinary human is male. The result is that women die unnecessarily of heart attacks and car crashes. They wait longer in line for bathrooms. They are constantly cold in offices while men find the temperature perfectly comfortable. Many men wonder why the women in their lives are always cold, as if it is some defect of their body's ability to regulate its internal environment. Rather than a failure of homeostasis among 50% of the population, women and men simply have different mean body temperatures and men have simply been setting the thermostats for their own comfort without consulting women or considering that they might have different needs. In every way and in every field of life, the world was designed by men and for men and women have suffered as a result. There's a saying in Washington D.C. that if you're not at the table, then you're on the menu. In other words, if you're not there helping make the decisions, then you're going to get eaten alive. For most of recorded history, the people calling the shots and making the design decisions have been men and women have been on the menu. Bryan, Caroline and Hunter all want to live in a world based on fair play. So, why would we spend our time arguing about our feeeeeeelings about the word feminism when we can devote our time and energy to solving the problem? With Caroline's book, we not only have a persuasive case. We have a recipe for action for how we can make a world that works better for all of us. Fair play isn't just about marches, elections and new legislation. It's also about making little decisions like where we set the thermostat into discussions.

Bryan Renslow found that! The death of a loved one creates a myriad of emotions for everyone affected. For Bryan recalling his Mother’s voice - the only recording he had was a brief one on the answering machine. He wanted to find a way to mitigate the pain of her loss. When the immediate shock dissipated he began to think how can he store memories, the treasures relating to his Mother that will allow other family and friends to also enjoy, perhaps even add to. An out-dated photo album was not a solution, and social media wasn’t either. That dilemma stayed with him until Bryan came up with the idea of creating Living Family History, a website to which others can add - an online home for families to store and share their experiences. But one major hurdle existed. Websites are very different from tiles and countertops - successful businesses that he had previously owned. By having to learn a new set of skills and find new experts to help him he learned websites are never truly finished, there’s always one more thing to fix, something to remove or add. Bryan’s natural perfectionism became a liability on this venture as he spent more time than expected watching YouTube tutorials learning how to build a website which is live now – everyone can help add to it livingfamilyhistory.com choose a package and use code Podsave20. During this process Bryan says big lessons he learned were: 1) assess yourself honestly, realistically, know when you need help, 2) visualize the final product, and 3) understand that energy is finite (pace yourself certainly when you’re a mature age person).

Original a flop on it's 1982 release, The Thing grew on home video to become a cult classic. Now it's regarded as a masterpiece.  Graham has grown up with this film and regards it as one of his top ten movies of all time. For Bryan on the other hand this was a first time watch, he had seen small segments but this was his first full watch through. As always there are outtakes at the end.
