What if your environment could soothe your nervous system and support your unique neurological needs? In this insightful episode of Walk in Victory, host NaRon Tillman sits down with Stephanie Lee, founder of Practical Sanctuary Sensory Interior Design, to explore the transformative intersection of design, neurodivergence, and community care. Stephanie shares her mission to create environments that promote healing—especially for highly sensitive and neurodivergent individuals. Together, they explore the overlooked importance of design in religious settings, how neuroscience is reshaping our understanding of human behavior, and why true healing is rooted in compassionate, inclusive spaces. They also address how modern institutions often fall short in accommodating diverse neurotypes—and how communities can rise to fill that gap with love, design, and intention.

How allyship is always a verb and allies do more with effective accountability with Teagan Robinson-Bell Today we have a returning guest on the show because she's just brilliant and I could talk to her all day about DEI, gender equity and inclusive cultures because it's her speciality! Teagan Robinson Bell has been Anchor's Diversity and Inclusion Manager since 2021 and has been with the housing association for nearly 6 years. She has led Anchor's inclusion agenda that supports colleagues with their career goals and personal development whilst being their authentic selves and supports residents to live lives that allow them to thrive in later life. Her ethos is that everyone's voice should be heard and that cognitive diversity allows organisations to provide great places to work and provides the best outcomes for customers. On the show today we are focusing on the importance of male allyship - the actual behaviour and difference that men can make in the workplace and beyond.  We chat about the things that can stop them doing more such as power imbalances in the workplace or this lack of self awareness about the privileges they hold. But ultimately if we can't focus on it being a moral obligation to challenge bias and discrimination - which we all hope would be the standard set, we can still link this to money and impacting the bottom line from a commercial point of view.  Listen in as Teagan shares some great advice and tips on how to deal with banter and how we can make sure that there is accountability for all allies especially those in more leadership positions. In this episode, I share some of my thoughts that align with an editorial I recently published in the Deseret News called “Not a Shock, But Men and Women Are Not the Same.” Throughout time, we as a society have assumed that if we make decisions based on how things work for men that they will also represent women. Research has found that this is just not correct! In this episode I share some examples of how these assumptions have been and continue to hurt women. I relate this to elements within the Church as well. RESOURCES: Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men Can snow plowing be sexist? Bringing your CEO into a sales deal can be a game-changer, but only if done strategically. When executed correctly, involving the CEO can provide the gravitas and assurance needed to close complex deals, especially when selling to large organizations. However, without proper preparation, it can backfire, causing misalignment and confusion. Key triggers for involving the CEO include high-dollar deals, prestigious accounts, and significant lifetime value. The CEO's role should be clearly defined to convey confidence, vision, and commitment to the prospective client. Proper orchestration and practice are essential to ensure the CEO enhances rather than hinders the sales process. Alice Heiman, the Chief Sales Energizer, is an expert in elevating sales for companies with exceptional growth potential. With over two decades of experience, Alice works closely with CEOs and sales leadership to build strategies that drive new business and grow existing accounts. Known for her energetic and strategic approach, Alice's clients benefit from her extensive knowledge in sales, which she also shares as a board member for several companies and as a lecturer at the University of Nevada. What you'll learn: What are the key indicators that it's time to bring the CEO into a sales deal? How can sales leaders effectively prepare their CEO for a sales meeting to ensure alignment and success? What strategies can sales leaders use to manage and guide the CEO's involvement without losing control of the sales process? We want to hear from you! There is no shortage of books on the growing impact of data collection and analysis on our societies, our cultures, and our everyday lives. David Hand's new book Dark Data: Why What You Don't Know Matters (Princeton University Press, 2020) is unique in this genre for its focus on those data that aren't collected or don't get analyzed. More than an introduction to missingness and how to account for it, this book proposes that the whole of data analysis can benefit from a "dark data" perspective—that is, careful consideration of not only what is seen but what is unseen. David assembles wide-ranging examples, from the histories of science and finance to his own research and consultancy, to show how this perspective can shed new light on concepts as classical as random sampling and survey design and as cutting-edge as machine learning and the measurement of honesty. I expect the book to inspire the same enjoyment and reflection in general readers as it is sure to in statisticians and other data analysts. Suggested companion work: Caroline Criado Perez, Invisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men. F**k "It All": Modern Women Redefining It All

Glass Ceilings? Yep, got it. Sticky Floors? Now, that's something new. Say more.Meet Erica Rooney - keynote speaker, author, executive coach, work and culture expert, mother, executive, podcaster, and overall relatable FIA woman. Erica's work brings her face-to-face with the proverbial glass ceiling daily, yet it was her own lived and learned experiences that helped her understand that no matter how much you push against it, if you're being held down by your own sticky floors, you're going to stay exactly where you've always been. Why do we love this conversation and ah-ha so much? Because it's not just about doing the work on ourselves, but recognizing, naming, and understanding the systemic shortcomings of our work, family, and community systems - deeply rooted in gender bias and intersectional “isms.” (race, age, sex, etc.)The parallels of Erica's work in the professional sphere are mirrored in her own home life, where Erica and Kacie talk about the complexities and nuances that come with raising different gendered children side-by-side; and how our biases start the moment we come out of the womb. Motherhood and raising children was a catalyst for both women to reflect on their perpetuation of hustle culture, and ask the question - what do we want our kids' world to look like? Sobering and motivating - for parents, and those of us who are child-free, too. This is much more a conversation and reflection on just how deeply ingrained these biases are, even amongst the most ‘well-intentioned.'This episode is a series of one thought-provoking nugget after the other. Small mic drops, and big ah-has that are best digested slowly. We recommend pausing as you go along, reflecting on your own opinions, feelings, thoughts; and most importantly, how you will take these revelations to not only dream - but plot - against what you'll bring to life in the new year. Enjoy.Resources from this episode: Get It All In Your InboxThe It All Media Newsletter Connect with EricaLinkedInWebsiteFrom Now to Next Podcast with Erica Rooney (wherever you get your pods)Erica's Reading ListInvisible Women: Data Bias in a World Designed for Men by Caroline Criado PerezWe Should All Be Millionaires by Rachel RodgersBurnout: The Secret to Unlocking the Stress Cycle by Emily Nagoski  and Amelia Nagoski Podcast production for th

In an automated world without constraints or time to think, our spending has been super-charged. Markets, apps, and e-commerce are all designed to separate us from our money as quickly and consistently as possible. So argues Julio Vincent Gambuto in his new book, Please Unsubscribe, Thanks!: How to Take Back Our Time, Attention, and Purpose in a World Designed to Bury Us in Bullshit. Paul and Julio discuss the book and their differences of opinion on how we have arrived to this subscription economy. Yes, Paul agrees, companies are intentionally removing friction from the transaction process to reduce the amount of thinking that goes into purchasing and subscribing to services. But he does not agree that this turns all of us into stooges who lack agency. Yes, Paul also agrees with Julio's eventual conclusion that we all need to “redefine our relationship with money and how/where/when/why we spend and our needs, wants, and relationship with desire. Maybe it's okay to not get everything we want right now.” Learn more about Julio on his website.  Thanks to our mutual friend Ethan Herschenfeld for connecting metro Julio. ⭐ Rate and Review Crazy Money here.
