On the Season 7 finale of FOX Rehabilitation's Live Better Longer podcast, we revisit one of our favorite stories centered around a favorite FOX cultural pillar—the exchange of abundance. A few years back, our host Jim Shearer's New York City neighbor, Melody Morrow, received a monthly receipt from her healthcare provider and noticed that someone drew musical notes above her name. Melody thought that was a very nice detail and called her provider to find out who was responsible for this small act of kindness. It turned out to be the accounting clerk, Emily Margolis. Long story short, the envelopes got more and more artistic, Melody and Emily struck up a friendship, and they were even featured on CBS' “On The Road” with Steve Hartman, as well as having the artwork showcased at a local New York City coffee shop. Jim catches up with Melody to talk about the media attention and positive feedback from the story, and the importance of taking time to do something nice for someone else.

In this episode of the PRovoke Media podcast, Cirkle's consumer managing director Kate Gibson and her client Jim Shearer, marketing director of frozen food giant Birds Eye, discuss how brands can continue to build consumer love and loyalty in a cost-of-living crisis – and why new research shows earned media is more powerful than ever.
As we approach Thanksgiving, our host Jim Shearer gives thanks that he is joined by his grandmother, who will soon celebrate her 91st birthday. One of FOX's signature mottos—the one that inspired the very name of this podcast—is Be Stronger, Live Better Longer. Jim's grandmother exemplifies this slogan. Throughout her 60s and beyond, she made a concerted effort to stay active, which included taking daily walks, cooking and even learning how to play golf. Despite having two major injuries in her 80s, Jim's grandma was able to keep a positive attitude and move forward with her life—one filled with over 20 grandchildren, over 40 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. It's a can't-miss episode where Jim's grandmother talks about how she stood up his grandfather on their first date, the secret behind making the perfect fried egg, and a simple piece of advice for young clinicians treating older adult patients: be not afraid, age is only a mindset! The host of The Brouhaha, Jim Shearer (that would be me writing in third person), takes a trip down memory lane and attempts to log all of the Beastie Boys live performances that he's witnessed in his lifetime. Fortunately, he saw them so many times it will require an additional episode, hence this one being called "Pt. 1."
FOX Rehabilitation takes great pride in our culture—we instill the concept of an “exchange of abundance” to encourage our colleagues to deliver more than what is expected. We were inspired when we heard the story of “The Envelope Artist.” On today's episode of FOX's Live Better Longer podcast, FOX's Jim Shearer speaks with his neighbor and friend, Melody, who explains how asking for a hard-copy receipt in the mail, led to receiving mini works of art in her mailbox and an eventual friendship with an artist named Emily. Instead of spoiling it all right here, why don't you just click on this week's episode and listen to this feel-good story yourself! Who better to interview during Nurses Week and a few days removed from Mother's Day than a nurse and a mother? FOX's Jim Shearer is joined by his mother, Laurie Shearer, RN, as they look back on her career as a registered nurse, one that included over 20 years of working with older adult patients. Laurie will discuss what inspired her to become a nurse, why she decided to get back into the profession after raising five children as a homemaker, and what she enjoyed most about working with older adults. (Laurie is no stranger to the airwaves. She was a frequent guest on Jim's former SiriusXM radio show.) Jim Shearer and former Oscilloscope Laboratories Sound Engineer, Andre Kelman, listen back to Hot Sauce Committee, Pt. 2 and give their hot takes, commentary, and insight 10 years after the fact. (Actually 11 years after the fact, but who's counting?)
Jim Shearer is currently the host of the "Jim Shearer Show" and "70s 80s 90s Now" on SiriusXM, and you might know him from his previous stints as a VJ on MTV and VH-1. Jim pops up on the Detoxicity podcast to discuss what it felt like to achieve his teenage goal to be a media personality and how that's affected everything he's tried to do since. We also get a look at Jim's conservative, Christian upbringing and how that shapes his worldview to this day. A squeaky-clean entertainment biz survivor? A happy go lucky guy who shares his honest views about racism. A guy who teaches his kids about social justice via the WWE? Jim is a complicated man, and he chats about all of it in this episode.

After a one-week summer vacation which took a year to complete, Lyle Preslar (founding member of Minor Threat and super-fan of Full House) chops it up with Jim Shearer (founding member of Deck of Jack and winner of SiriusXM Volume's "Sixth Man of the Year" award) about the 60th Annual Grammy Awards. Enjoy, because it could either be a week or another year before The Week In Music returns!
In this third episode, Angie Romero, the Senior Editor of US Latin Content Programming at Spotify (1:10) joins the podcast to discuss the evolution and the globalization of the reggaeton sound today. Also why is the best Spanish-language music right now not being played on radio? We share our favorite Latin artists and Spotify playlists you should really be listening to, plus, our opinion on why Luis Miguel hasn't evolved his music in 20 years. We also had a chance to catch up with the director of the new horror film DON'T BREATHE, Uruguayan Fede Alvarez (14:06), on why it’s so difficult to do an original horror film and why he declined to direct Marvel’s Doctor Strange. And Jim Shearer, former VH1 and MTV2 VJ (18:50) comes on the show to discuss whether the MTV VMA's are even relevant anymore. You'd like to give us your feedback?
