How do you turn one of Weird Al's shortest songs into one of Beer'd Al's longest episodes? You invite family.Lauren and Russ are joined by Russ's son (and Lauren's stepson) Zakk for a full Robinson discussion of "Twister," Weird Al's frantic Beastie Boys-style original from Even Worse. Along the way, we dive into the song's brilliant pastiche, explore the Beastie Boys' evolution from punk upstarts to hip-hop legends, reminisce about the cultural phenomenon that was the Twister board game, and somehow manage to conduct an entirely serious literary analysis of a one-minute song.We also take a detour into the memorable Twister scene from the Michael biopic, debate why some comedy works best in short bursts, and prove that with enough enthusiasm (and enough tangents), even the shortest Weird Al song can inspire a full-length conversation. It's a full Robinson onslaught—and it all comes full circle.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/beer-d-al-podcast--5439475/support.

PATREON WITHOUT ADS: www.patreon.com/dopeypodcast AI SUMMARY: This week on the Dopey Replay, Dave revisits Episode 35—the first true celebrity interview in Dopey history—with House of Pain co-founder Danny Boy O'Connor. Before the interview, Dave shares the story of meeting Danny Boy at Katz's Delicatessen, reads a voicemail from a listener who overdosed after sneaking back into work to retrieve heroin from his desk, and shares another unbelievable Dopey Nation story involving meth, a .357 revolver, and a self-inflicted gunshot wound. **Then Danny Boy joins Dave and Chris for an epic conversation about the rise of House of Pain, recording "Jump Around," getting kicked off tour with the Beastie Boys, watching Everlast's solo career explode, and his own descent into alcoholism, cocaine, methamphetamine addiction, homelessness, and despair. Danny Boy explains how recovery transformed his life, leading him to restore the legendary Outsiders house in Tulsa and find purpose beyond fame. It's one of the earliest—and still one of the most inspiring—celebrity recovery stories ever told on Dopey. ALl that and MORE! on a super old yet simultaneous new episode of that old old old dopey show. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. This week we continue our coverage of Night Demon's fall 2024 tour with King Diamond by highlighting a pair of shows in Brooklyn, New York on back-to-back nights in late October. The first gig was an off day for the King Diamond tour, so Jarvis and Armand played a sweaty club show with their other band, the legendary Cirith Ungol from Ventura, California. The second night was a King Diamond tour stop at the magnificent, cavernous Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, where Night Demon received first-class treatment, played a blinder of a gig, changed up the setlist, and met up with some good friends. As always, you'll find all the details, vignettes, and soundbites right here.Become a subscriber today at nightdemon.net/subscriber. Ce 29 juin, Marjorie Hache met à l'honneur les Sex Pistols, James Brown, The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jimi Hendrix, The Verve, Lana Del Rey, Sum 41, The Troggs, The Hives, Green Day, Alice In Chains, Liam Gallagher, Deep Purple et Stevie Wonder. Son tout nouveau disque, "Songs Of Personal Loss and Protest", se dévoile aujourd'hui à travers l'énergique titre "Knock 'em Out". La reprise du jour convoque deux légendes : David Bowie et Mick Jagger reprennent le tube de la Motown "Dancing In The Street" (Martha and the Vandellas), une relecture bouillonnante enregistrée le 29 juin 1985 au profit du Live Aid. Send us Fan MailThis week on the podcast Paul Leary, guitarist for the Butthole Surfers stops by the show to discuss the release of After the Astronaut (Out Today), revisiting the archives, the documentary and more. *****In 1998, when BUTTHOLE SURFERS followed up their 1996 mainstream breakthrough Electric Larryland with their next record entitled AFTER THE ASTRONAUT, the major label they were signed to at the time pulled it from their release schedule at the last minute. Their reasoning? They wanted a more “commercial” record. Had that label known Butthole Surfers' oeuvre better, they probably shouldn't have expected another “Pepper” (their #1 Billboard Modern Rock from 1996). Instead, After the Astronaut was shelved… until now when Sunset Blvd. releases that mythic and much-discussed follow-up on June 26, 2026. “We were pretty stoked to make another album after the success of our previous album and its single ‘Pepper',” recalls guitarist Paul Leary. “Capitol Records was stoked to get that next record until our relationship soured.” After some legal wrangling, Butthole Surfers were released from the major label's roster and their contract was sold. “Hollywood Records bought the album but wanted to make changes to it which was an uncomfortable experience for us,” he notes (the reconfigured and reworked album was eventually released as Weird Revolution in 2001). “Now we have the right to release the original recording the way we intended it to be with its original title, After The Astronaut.”Reacting to the grunge/altrock sludge that was populating the airwaves, Leary, drummer King Coffey and vocalist Gibby Haynes pulled away from the style that was surfacing and, instead, submerged their creativity deeper into electronics, industrial beats, acid grooves, and other synthesized sci-fi sounds. “After the Astronaut was a fun project," says Coffey. "We were using all the digital toys at our disposal at the time, and it felt much like the creation of Locust Abortion (1987). We were playing with new toys, creating things that amused us with the crayons we had, and we weren't worried about radio airplay. It felt like we were going back to our experimental roots while still navigating the major label ecosystem." Kicking off with Haynes' spoken word intro where he announces “I stand as a messenger of strangeness this evening in order to impress upon or at least to instruct the honorable musicians as to the methods and motives of the truly bizarre reality,” “Weird Revolution launches into a trippy and psychedelic cacophony of distorted guitar and beat-heavy rhythms that sets the tone for the record. The syncopated vocals of “Intelligent Guy” veers into proto-industrial synth grunge territory, grimy and dirty with a pulsating, mechanized beat. First single “Jet Fighter” finds the band in a surf-punk mood, exploring lo-fi dadaist psych rock filtered through a thrift store PA system, which originated, as Leary remembers, “when I purchased a 12-string electric guitar and wanted to play it.” It's the unnatural progression of the anti-mainstream pop song that fit perfectly in the oddball late ‘90s aesthetic. An anti-war protest song that, while originally written decades ago, echoes a sentiment that can be applied today, Gibby sings about Mikey who enlisted in the military and “He got into the cockpit and rose up in the sky / Set his sights on Beirut and he let his missiles fly / Boom, Boom!”The textural and moodily cinematic “I Don't Have A Problem” is an exercise in layering, with distorted voices weaving in and out of textured fuzz, guitar feedback, and other subterranean and unnerving sounds, which unsurprisingly is Leary's favorite song on the album. “King showed up to the studio one day with a device that could listen in on other people's cell phone conversations,” Leary laughs. “We set it up to record and turned it on. Right out of the gate this guy is talking about girls with ‘knives and daggers.' We turned it into the song ‘I Don't Have a Problem'.” Emerging from the 1980s hardcore scene, Butthole Surfers was formed by Haynes and Leary while in college in San Antonio, Texas. Bonding over a shared distaste for mainstream music, Butthole Surfers traipsed through the music industry, always in the fringes. Championed by Dead Kennedys, Nirvana, and Orbital and compatriots of Scratch Acid, Flipper and Big Black, they remained a fixture in the music scene's counterculture. In a moment of mainstream acceptance (they scored a #1 Modern Rock Hit with “Pepper”), the band always embraced the obtuse and the obstinate. Though the band has never quite broken up, their legacy still inspires other acts, including Gwar, Flaming Lips, Jane's Addiction, White Zombie, Monster Magnet, Primus and dozens more. Butthole Surfers on After The Astronaut is Gibby Haynes (vocals, synths), Paul Leary (lead guitar, bass guitar, keyboards), and King Coffey (drum machines). After the Astronaut was produced by Paul Leary, engineered by Stuart Sullivan (Meat Puppets, Sublime) at Arlyn Recording Studio, mixed by Paul Leary at Preacher Mon Studio, and mastered by Howie Weinberg (Herbie Hancock, Beastie Boys, Nirvana). It will be released on June 26, 2026 via Sunset Blvd. with original art by Paul Leary and Gibby Haynes.*****If you would like to contact the show Dauna@betertopodcast.comFollow us on Social MediaYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCX0ETs2wpOHbCuhUNr0XFTw?view_as=subscriberInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/author_d.m.needom/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedomSupport the podcast here: https://www.patreon.com/bettertopodcastwithdmneedom©2026 Better To...Podcast with D. MVY Waves! Surf into ten hours of uninterrupted ocean waves, hints of 808, drifting sounds, wind, and a bird chilling amidst the dunes of Aquinnah. Mellow beats, ocean waves, nature, some distant human machines, and chords. Whether you're studying, working, reading, sleeping, or unwinding after a long day, this immersive ambient soundscape provides the perfect background soundtrack. No talking, no interruptions—just pure beach relaxation and meandering sounds. Ignore the World._____So the backbone of this episode was recorded on the footpath, about 40 feet from the surf of Gay Head Town Beach (Moshup Beach) on Martha's Vineyard. It was recorded last week (as of this episode's release) while vacationing in my favorite place on Earth—with more episodes from MVY on the way (stay tuned).Anyway, why is it “Gay Head Town Beach” when the town is Aquinnah? Shortest possible answer: the island was taken from the Wampanoag by settlers and, as with the United States mainland, the tribe was pushed further and further westward into a place we incorporated as “Gay Head.” The tribe had nowhere else to go but the sea... (And I know that ellipsis is doing a lot of work.)So in 1997, by popular vote, residents changed the town name from Gay Head to Aquinnah, or “land under the hill,” which alludes to the clay cliffs and some of the taller elevations on the island. The cliffs really are remarkable—I've visited them almost every year of my life—they don't get old.But settler colonialism isn't much of a chill ambient podcast subject, so I'll save the bitter pills for more historically focussed channels. (Or consider surfing over to the Aquinnah Cultural Center.) It's summer after all (huzzah), so let's wade into less heady waters. Something got stuck in my craw over vacation that I had to yank out. Have y'all ever pondered how musical artists sound more native in specific formats? (And forgive me if music folks already pondered this, I didn't look bc I don't want to get rid of what I've written so far.)I'll stick to what I know—90s-era hip-hop—to demonstrate. And it's very Vineyard for me, as my obsession with hip-hop bloomed in the summers of the '90s. So while I was folding T-shirts at Island Breeze or washing cars at Old Colony Service, I was making paychecks disappear at Aboveground Records (and Al's Package Store, but that's a different tale).Cassette is easy: nothing sounds more cassette-native than DJ Shadow, Black Moon, or the Beastie Boys. The griminess of backpack and alternative hip-hop belongs in analog. And while I'd put Raekwon in the vinyl format camp—he did release “the purple tape.” (which I purchased at the music store in Vineyard Haven—think it's a paint store now.) Just slip “Glaciers of Ice” onto your turntable and you will understand why. Maybe just buy the purple tape and display it.Definitely CD for CRU's Da Dirty 30; a very solid project that plays best uninterrupted—while being able to exit tracks quickly to skip intros that didn't age well. Also, one of the tracks, “Da Dirty 29,” pretends to be a damaged section of the physical media, complete with medium-specific error sounds. So if you play it on CD, you'll hear skipping. Basically, it's much easier to realize that the damaged sounds are an intentional artistic choice on CD.On the cassette side of "Da Dirty 29" it plays as if the tape is being eaten to mush by grinding gears. Look, find some Gen X ******* and ask them how it felt when their favorite cassette started making a grinding sound. You could even drop a cherry on it with, “think of the film clenched in your teeth while the dentist has that nuke-cannon X-ray machine aimed an inch from your face.” That was the sound of your favorite cassette dying.

Hosts Chuck and Justin dive into Kneecap, the wildly energetic and semi-autobiographical comedy-drama starring the real-life rap trio alongside Michael Fassbender. They discuss the film's kinetic visual style, surreal humor, and unforgettable drug-fueled set pieces, while exploring its themes of language, identity, rebellion, and Irish culture. Along the way, they compare the film's anarchic spirit to Trainspotting and the sample-heavy creativity of the Beastie Boys, praising its inventive filmmaking, sharp performances, and infectious energy. If you're looking for a bold, funny, and highly original indie film, this is one you won't want to miss. In this episode of Seeing Them Live, Charles sits down with Ben Daughtry and Jonathan Palmer of Love Jones — the Louisville-born, LA-based band that has been crafting their unique blend of lounge, soul, pop, and sharp-witted storytelling for over three decades. The conversation kicks off with a shared love of live music, as both Ben and Jonathan trace their concert-going roots back to the same unlikely starting point: Van Halen. Ben recalls sneaking into a show at 14, way too young to be there, watching a then-unknown Van Halen open for Black Sabbath and feeling like "a bomb going off." Jonathan recounts his own Van Halen baptism at Freedom Hall in Louisville on the Women and Children First Invasion Tour — complete with $7.50 festival seating and his mother taking notes in the stands. From there, the episode becomes a wide-ranging tour through decades of live music obsession. The guys swap stories about Ted Nugent crowd surges, jumping on stage with GWAR in New Orleans, playing congas with Tool at an early Lollapalooza, and watching Rage Against the Machine move 60,000 people. Jonathan shares privileged industry moments — seeing The Rolling Stones at a 600-capacity room in New York alongside Daniel Craig, Rachel Weisz, and Questlove, and catching Nine-Inch Nails at The Troubadour when they felt "too big for the building." The conversation is fueled by genuine enthusiasm, with each story triggering another in a kind of joyful avalanche of rock and roll memory. The second half of the episode turns to the band's own story — from their residency at Largo on Fairfax, where David Bowie once sat quietly in a booth and Tool's crew became regulars, to their unexpected appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon celebrating the 25th anniversary of their debut album Here's to the Losers. Charles and the guys dig into the Cocktail Nation moment of the '90s, the making of their new album The Greatest Show on Earth — written during COVID jam sessions in a Louisville warehouse with crickets chirping and trains passing — and the cinematic, Gil Evans-influenced sound that ties its six expansive tracks together. The episode closes with the band expressing hope to get back on the road, a shout-out to their partnership with Whiskey Thief Distillery, and a tease of possible activity around the 30th anniversary of the film Swingers, on whose soundtrack Love Jones famously appeared. BANDS: Adele, B-52s, Beastie Boys, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy, Black Sabbath, Chicago, Combustible Edison, Devo, Earth Wind & Fire, Fishbone, Foo Fighters, GWAR, James Brown, Led Zeppelin, Love Jones, Metallica, Metric, Molly Hatchet, Morphine, Nine Inch Nails, Oasis, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Rolling Stones, Sea and Cake, Steely Dan, Supertramp, Ted Nugent, The Cars, The Cocktails, Tool, Tortoise, Van Halen, ZZ Top. One minute you're discussing legendary comedians. The next minute you're getting shot with an Airsoft gun to reveal a baby's gender. Just another completely normal day on The Rizzuto Show.Episode 101 delivers exactly the kind of chaos you'd expect from your favorite daily comedy show. King Scott finally reveals whether he's having a boy or a girl, but because this is The Rizzuto Show, the reveal involves questionable planning, poor weapon handling, and two unsuspecting coworkers standing against a wall hoping they don't get blasted. Radio professionalism remains undefeated. Before the big reveal, the gang gears up for Night of the Rizzlies at the Gateway Grizzlies game, debates who can throw the fastest first pitch without embarrassing themselves, and questions whether Moon's partially destroyed knee can survive an outfield race. The confidence level is high. The odds of injury are somehow even higher. Then things get surprisingly heated when the crew tackles one of the biggest comedy questions imaginable: Who is the greatest stand-up comedian turned actor of all time? Robin Williams? Eddie Murphy? Jim Carrey? Steve Martin? Adam Sandler? Billy Crystal? The debate spirals into movie history, personal rankings, forgotten classics, and enough opinions to start at least three internet arguments. In Crap On Celebrities, Lern brings everything from Beastie Boys news and Marilyn Manson legal updates to TV cancellations, celebrity health stories, Hulk Hogan documentary discussion, and one of the strangest medical conditions anyone has ever heard of. Apparently some people sneeze when they're too full. The show spends an alarming amount of time exploring that concept. The gang also revisits cult classics like The Cable Guy, argues over the true Mount Rushmore of 1970s rock bands, and somehow turns a discussion about diarrhea into a surprisingly detailed scientific investigation. Nobody asked for that. Yet here we are.And because becoming a father isn't stressful enough, King Scott sticks around for "Feed Baby Scott," where listeners try to identify mystery baby foods while Scott gets spoon-fed questionable purees. Future fatherhood preparation? Not exactly. Entertaining radio? Absolutely. If you're looking for a daily comedy show packed with ridiculous debates, weird celebrity news, accidental life lessons, and a room full of adults behaving like unsupervised middle schoolers, this episode delivers all of it.Congratulations to Scott and Allison on their baby girl, condolences to everyone who got hit with an Airsoft pellet, and good luck getting the phrase "explosive diarrhea" out of your head. Thanks for listening to another daily comedy show from The Rizzuto Show.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
If you've ever convinced yourself you were dying only to discover you just forgot your morning coffee, congratulations—you and Moon have something in common. This episode begins with Moon's dramatic weekend health crisis, which included headaches, body aches, sweating, canceled plans, and a genuine belief that he had caught the flu. After missing parties, skipping events, and suffering through a soccer match, the shocking diagnosis arrived: accidental caffeine withdrawal. One decaf mistake later, Moon was spiraling. Two rose lattes later, he was ready to conquer the world, write albums, and possibly become mayor of Paris.Meanwhile, the crew breaks down one of the most unexpected party surprises in recent memory when former Blues star Jamie Rivers decides the perfect pool-opening gift for his fiancée Ashley is... live monkeys. Not monkey decorations. Not monkey-themed cupcakes. Actual monkeys. Naturally, the monkeys arrive during a crowded backyard party packed with guests, children, music, and enough chaos to make everyone question several life choices. The result is equal parts adorable, confusing, and mildly terrifying. The conversation somehow escalates into monkey behavior analysis, party planning mistakes, surprise animal logistics, and the realization that getting bitten by a monkey in a bikini was probably not on anyone's weekend bingo card. The gang also recaps King Scott's massive baby shower, complete with mountains of gifts, bacon, desserts, and the looming anticipation of the show's upcoming gender reveal. There are discussions about weird party foods, mysterious hot-dog cake creations, and why some recipes should maybe stay inside family cookbooks. As if that wasn't enough, Rafe conducts what can only be described as investigative journalism by revisiting a local Hooters. What follows is an unexpectedly deep exploration of restaurant culture, paper plates, silent dining rooms, forgotten glory days, and whether a restaurant can accidentally become an existential experience. It's part food review, part sociology experiment, and part cry for help. The crew also tackles one of life's toughest questions: what's the saddest food to eat alone? Cake? Ice cream? A blooming onion? The answers get surprisingly personal as stories of lonely desserts, spaghetti mishaps, old promotional cakes, and questionable life decisions come flooding out. From caffeine dependency and monkey business to restaurant nostalgia and emotional food debates, this episode delivers exactly the kind of beautiful nonsense that makes this daily comedy show what it is. If you're looking for a daily comedy show that can seamlessly connect French coffee, poolside monkeys, hot-dog cake, and Hooters trivia without ever making sense, you've found your people. One minute you're discussing legendary comedians. Absolutely.Today's episode of The Rizzuto Show answers a question absolutely nobody asked: can King Scott identify baby food flavors while blindfolded and trapped in audio isolation?Armed with an airplane spoon, questionable parenting products, and the confidence of a man who claimed he'd "never gotten this wrong before," Scott stepped into one of the weirdest challenges we've ever put on the show. What followed was a rollercoaster of carrots, sweet peas, green beans, applesauce, chicken broth, and enough pureed mystery meat to make everyone in the room reconsider modern food science.Things start innocent enough when Scott confidently nails carrot. That's where the success story ends. Soon he's identifying sweet peas as asparagus, green beans as apricot, and repeatedly convincing himself that every suspicious meat product on earth somehow tastes like tuna. Meanwhile, Moon embraces his new role as Baby Food Sommelier, Rafe nearly loses his lunch from the smell of ham puree, and Lern spends most of the challenge laughing at Scott looking like he's awaiting sentencing in the electric chair.Along the way, the gang talks about the upcoming Operation Food Search canned food drive, broadcasting outside the station for the first time in years, and why the studio might actually be the sixth member of the show. Then it's right back to watching a grown man try to process flavors designed for people who can't legally walk yet.The real star of the show might be the baby food itself. The ham and gravy drew immediate comparisons to cat food. The chicken and broth somehow smelled worse. Multiple show members gagged. One nearly threw up. Scott requested second bites of several flavors despite clear evidence that his taste buds had already filed formal complaints. If you've ever wondered what happens when confidence collides head-on with pureed meat products, this episode delivers. It's a masterclass in bad guesses, terrible smells, and the kind of chaos that only happens when a daily radio show decides to turn one of its hosts into a giant toddler for entertainment purposes. This is exactly the kind of funny podcast nonsense that keeps us employed. It's a funny podcast filled with bad decisions, questionable food choices, and a shocking amount of discussion about tuna that wasn't actually tuna. If you love a funny podcast featuring hilarious fails, weird food challenges, sarcastic humor, and friends roasting each other for nearly half an hour, welcome home.Featuring:King Scott vs. baby foodThe ham puree incidentThe Great Tuna ConfusionMoon's elite airplane-spoon techniqueRafe's battle with nauseaMultiple audience predictionsOne very concerned future fatherEnough chicken broth to haunt a studio foreverThe Rizzuto Show: proving once again that adulthood is mostly just childhood with bills.Follow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShow.Hear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.Belleville's Skyview Drive-In is now for saleBear sightings prompt warnings in Franklin County'Pure Panic': Glacier Grizzly Attack Survivor Shares the Story of the Rescue That Saved HimSt. Louis woman stabs man in head with railroad spike after fight over lottery ticketSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
The Beastie Boys' trajectory is one of the most unique in music history, moving from underground punk, to the "frat-rap" superstardom of Licensed to Ill, to socially-conscious stars of both hip-hop and alternative rock. In this episode, we explore the pivotal moment when the band faced an artistic crisis following the commercial failure of Paul's Boutique. Severing ties with Def Jam and moving to Los Angeles, the trio—Mike D, MCA, and Ad-Rock—found absolute creative freedom in their own L.A. studio. With the help of Mario Caldato Jr. and Money Mark, they began to blend their hip-hop roots with live funk, punk, and rock, resulting in the 1992 triumph, Check Your Head. We'll do a track-by-track breakdown of "So What'cha Want" and "Gratitude," revealing the secrets behind their signature sounds. We'll see how the Hammond organ and distorted karaoke vocals created the atmosphere of "So What'cha Want," and how Adam Yauch's (MCA) spiritual journey influenced the heavy, fuzz-drenched riff of "Gratitude." The episode concludes with a poignant look at the band's legacy following Yauch's passing in 2012, celebrating a group that proved innovation often comes from looking back at your roots while moving fearlessly forward. “So What'cha Want” - Michael Diamond, Adam Horovitz, Adam Yauch Copyright 1992 Brooklyn Dust Music (ASCAP). “Gratitude” - Michael Diamond, Adam Horovitz, Adam Yauch & Tom Cushman Copyright 1992 Brooklyn Dust Music (ASCAP) and PolyGram International Music Publishing, Inc. On today's episode, I talk to musician Jeff Mueller. Originally from Louisville, KY, Jeff formed the band Rodan in 1992 with his friend Jason Noble, releasing the seminal album Rusty two years later on Quarterstick Records. After Rodan broke up, Jeff formed June of 44, and they put out almost an album a year until they stopped playing together in 1999. Rodan's break-up also blossomed into a new band for Jeff and Jason, Shipping News. Shipping News released numerous albums over the next fifteen years, many of them on Quarterstick, until Jason's death in 2012. Most recently, Solid Brass Records released Jeff and Jason's first high school group King G & the J Krew, which is somewhere in-between Rodan and the Beastie Boys, and it is a delight! Entirely unreleased, undeniably funky techno. Charles Accarisi, AKA Chlär, treats techno like a science. From his earliest days as an audio engineer, the Lisbon-via-Switzerland artist has approached techno with the precision of a seasoned experimentalist, dissecting our love of listening to kick drums in dark, sweaty clubs down to its very bones. Before launching his label, Primal Instinct, in 2023, he dug deep, building its foundation on neuroscience studies exploring syncopation and bass frequencies. Yet, for all its academic rigor, Accarisi's music remains incredibly funky. You can hear this endless pursuit of groove in his DJ sets. His productions flit across the techno continuum with similar versatility. One minute, as half of Funk Assault, he's flipping a Beastie Boys vocal into a 140-BPM weapon; the next, he aims straight for the head, trading peak-time bacchanalia for the haunted hypnotism of the afterhours. RA 1041 is all of this and more. Composed entirely of unreleased tracks, it delivers 70 minutes of heads-down techno in its purest form. It's heavy and dark, for sure, but undeniably swung, seamlessly bridging dub techno and sweat-inducing hardgroove throwbacks. This is contemporary techno synthesized by a master chemist. Summer officially arrived the second a teenager accepted cash to shave off his broccoli haircut in somebody's garage like it was a shady underground stock trade. This episode of The Rizzuto Show starts with a parenting moment every adult secretly fears: your kid walks into the house saying, “Dad… I think I messed up.” Naturally, everyone assumes the car exploded or someone got arrested. Nope. Just a fresh buzzcut and instant regret.Apparently the new trend among teenage dudes is sacrificing their curls for gas money, construction jobs, or whatever weird social experiment Gen Z is running this week. The gang debates whether the broccoli boys are evolving, devolving, or accidentally forming a 1998 nu-metal tribute band. There's also concern over sunscreen, dating prospects, and whether moms are legally allowed to roast their sons immediately after a haircut disaster. Then things somehow get even more chaotic with the return of the “Three Song Challenge,” where listeners have exactly seconds to identify legendary bands based on three song titles. Sounds easy, right? Apparently not. Friday's contestants embarrassed the entire listening audience, so this episode becomes a redemption tour for humanity itself. The daily comedy show spirals through rounds featuring Pearl Jam, Def Leppard, Van Halen, Soundgarden, Blink-182, Black Sabbath, Stone Temple Pilots, Journey, Weezer, Rage Against The Machine, CCR, Smashing Pumpkins, Mötley Crüe, No Doubt, Iron Maiden, Incubus, ZZ Top, and Beastie Boys. Some callers absolutely dominate. Others sound like they've never heard music before despite living on Earth their entire lives. There are screaming kids in the background, accidental team-ups between callers, confusion, panic, and enough rock nostalgia to make your uncle punch drywall in excitement. It's basically what happens when a funny podcast combines classic rock radio, family dysfunction, and game show pressure into one beautiful trainwreck. The gang also teases discussions about dating costs, modern beauty standards, and whether the legendary “dad bod” was ever truly appreciated or if society just gaslit average men for several years. Tough questions get asked. Few answers arrive. If you love a comedy podcast loaded with sarcastic humor, music references, weird trends, parenting fails, St. Louis chaos, and daily nonsense that somehow feels therapeutic, this episode delivers all of it. This daily comedy show continues proving that absolutely nobody has things figured out — especially not the people hosting it.And honestly? If somebody offers you $50 to shave your head this summer… negotiate harder.Follow The Rizzuto Show → linktr.ee/rizzshow for more from your favorite daily comedy show.Connect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast online → 1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MO.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
