#ScrubHopTalk Ep. 276 - We review a story about a kindergarten teacher who's found doing illicit drugs in the classroom, and the guys have some very interesting takes on what might have brought on such a situation. The boys check out a video of an employee in a warehouse building a pallet and getting trapped against it by a wrapper, bringing J back to his memories of working jobs like this. We meet a guy who skipped out on his bar tab, but returns to look for his phone charger and is subsequently arrested, which is only part of why this story interests us. @troxy_cotton @scrubhopking @bigtrox303 #ScrubHop #teachermyteethwentaway#Iwasthefuckinwall#2differentsidesofhisemotionsScrub Hop Talk is a weekly show with JDirty, Big Trox, and Troxy Cotton. This week, Scott was joined by Lawfare Managing Editor Tyler McBrien, Lawfare Senior Editor Molly Roberts, and University of Virginia Professor of Law Paul Stephan to talk through the week's big news in national security, including:“Textual Healing.” On Friday, a 6-3 Supreme Court majority brought an end to at least the current iteration of President Trump's controversial tariff policies, ruling that language in the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (or IEEPA) authorizing the “regulation of…importation” doesn't include the authority to impose tariffs. That said, President Trump himself has already indicated that he intends to reinstate many of the tariffs he had installed using IEEPA under other statutory authorities. How big a setback is this for the Trump administration's trade policies? And what might it mean for other aspects of its policy agenda?“Mayhem in Mexico.” Over the weekend, an elite unit of the Mexican army killed one of the country's most powerful drug kingpins, Nemesio Oseguera Cervantes, also known as “El Mencho.” His syndicate, the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, immediately retaliated, through attacks on Mexican security forces, roadblocks throughout the country, and other measures intended to terrorize the public, particularly in areas frequented by American and Western tourists. The decision to move against El Mencho followed an intense pressure campaign by the Trump administration, which has pushed Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum to take a hard stand against the cartels. Should this be seen as a win for the Trump administration? Or Sheinbaum? And what could the long-term implications be for the U.S.-Mexico relationship?“Clap if You Believe.” On Tuesday, President Trump delivered his annual State of the Union address, the longest of its kind. Many had braced for a contentious speech, expecting Trump to ridicule the justices seated in front of him and potentially even announce strikes on Iran. But Trump appeared to pull his punches on both of those fronts—he instead saved his harshest words for congressional Democrats and focused on laying out a rose-colored picture of the state of the country. How effective was Trump's speech? And what does it tell us about the current state of his second presidency? In object lessons, Tyler just has this strange sense that you will enjoy the Otherworld podcast. Molly (and her dog) find comfort in the soft, squishy claws of Cthulhu. Scott eased his travel woes with a twist on the Vieux Carre at Birch & Bloom in Charlottesville. And Paul mixed his object lesson with three parts: Peter Suderman's Cocktails if you're into all things shaken and stirred; Mark Galeotti's podcast, In Moscow's Shadow, if you're into all things Russia-related; and Dan Wang's New York Times Best Seller book, “Breakneck,” if you're into all things China-related. the guys attempt “Olympic chair jumping” and it goes EXACTLY how you'd expect. Crashes, excuses, wardrobe malfunctions, and a controversial 9.8 score. Then things get weird…They play “Was it Biden or Harbaugh?” trying to tell the difference between Joe Biden and John Harbaugh by voice alone and the results are shocking.
Is $40M/year too much for Malik Willis? What happens if he's not THE guy with that much on his docket? Chris said he'd be willing to take that shot, but Donny and Poni can't get there. Would you rather just have Aaron Rodgers back for the same he made last season ($13M)? Does anyone else want to pay Malik Willis $40M/year? This segment went very off the rails. Recorded February 6, 2026 ISE season is in full swing, and while much of the AV world is busy chasing booth demos and press releases from Europe, the AV SuperFriends are back doing what they do best: cutting through the hype. In this episode, the panel digs into the latest ISE announcements and trends, separating what's genuinely useful for higher ed from what looks great under trade-show lighting but falls apart in real classrooms. A major thread of the conversation focuses on rethinking camera deployments in teaching and meeting spaces. The crew challenges the default "one camera at the front of the room" mentality, unpacking how faculty behavior, room geometry, and instructional goals should drive camera placement, not product marketing. From multi-camera approaches to integrated camera bars and tracking features, the discussion centers on what actually improves teaching and learning versus what just checks a feature box. Naturally, the conversation eventually drifts into resolution arms races, with healthy skepticism about 8K's relevance and outright disbelief at the industry's eagerness to jump to 16K. What starts as total confusion over Olympic scheduling and where to even find the Knicks on TV quickly turns into side-eyeing the timing of a heavily hyped Lindsey Vonn moment on Super Bowl Sunday. The debate escalates into classic “just asking questions” territory before the show completely leans into chaos with another laugh-out-loud edition of Idiots With Idioms, featuring mangled phrases, accidental word crimes, and the weekly reminder that idioms are undefeated.
The hour starts with a full-on takedown of Giannis' “legends don't chase” victory lap, with one bold prediction: he is getting moved this summer and the tweet is going to age horribly. Then the convo pivots to NFL Honors, where Stafford wins MVP in a razor-thin race and it sparks a hilarious relitigation of last year's Giants debate: would you rather have gone all-in for Stafford, or be in the Jaxson Dart era right now? It gets even weirder with NFL Honors moments that left everyone confused, plus callers diving into Super Bowl strategy (Patriots defense vs Seahawks weapons), the never-ending Brady vs Belichick argument, and an alternate universe where the Jets drafted Brady in 2000. Along the way: a legendary Reese's slip-up, why Philly suddenly feels like it's falling apart, what Stoutland and Schwartz resignations could mean, the Giants adding Greg Roman, a Malik Nabers injury timeline breakdown, and a closer look at Russell Wilson's social media behavior that somehow makes Brady's “no dog in the fight” look normal.

Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle get derailed by another unforgettable WFAN caller, sending the Carton Show into classic chaos. What starts as a normal sports conversation quickly turns into laughs, arguments, and the kind of off-the-cuff radio moments only WFAN can deliver. From wild takes to unexpected turns, this segment perfectly captures why live New York sports radio is unmatched.
With two first-round picks in hand, the New York Jets may have the flexibility to make a bold quarterback move in the upcoming draft. Evan and Tiki dive into the idea of using a high pick on Ty Simpson, a prospect whose stock has swung wildly over the last college season. They revisit how quickly quarterback evaluations can change, why waiting can be risky if you truly believe in a player, and how past debates like the Daniel Jones draft still shape how fans view early QB selections today. The conversation also expands to broader draft philosophy, media hype cycles, and why it may be too early for anyone to feel confident about next year's quarterback class. A thoughtful look at patience, projection, and pressure when it comes to finding the next franchise quarterback.
If your meeting goes off the rails, it's not because your prospects are “unruly.” It's because no one's driving. And with the right moves, you can take the wheel fast without making it weird. In this episode, Stacy breaks down how to prevent unhelpful tangents before you ever walk in the room (hello, champion prep call) and what to do in real time when someone hijacks the conversation.Listen in to learn how to:Prep with your champion so you walk in knowing who's who in the zoo (and who might go rogue)Use a simple meeting prep doc so everyone stays aligned on the goal, flow, and rolesRedirect tangents — whether they come from the prospect or your fund manager — without anyone feeling embarrassed (we don't kick people under the table around here) Be the Jimmy Fallon of the meeting who breaks the ice and keeps things moving without making it awkward sauce This is Story Snacks, a bite-sized, jam-packed series for fund managers who are ready to master strategic storytelling in under 20 minutes a week. ---Running a fund is hard enough.Ops shouldn't be.Meet the team that makes it easier. | billiondollarbackstory.com/ultimus- - -Thinking about expanding your investor base beyond the US? Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle spiral into an all-time Carton Show segment on WFAN, starting with Super Bowl halftime talk and quickly turning into a no-holds-barred debate on whether this year's Super Bowl matchup is actually “sexy.” From Bad Bunny vs the “All-American Halftime Show,” to Lauryn Hill, the Puppy Bowl, Sam Darnold in the Super Bowl, vasectomy stories, chili orders, and Carton's raspy voice being “loved by the ladies,” this segment has everything except a filter.
What starts as a simple birthday shoutout for Craig Carton turns into absolute WFAN mayhem. Craig Carton and Chris McMonigle welcome surprise calls from Albert Dukes and Boomer Esiason, share insane Super Bowl road stories, argue over olives, casino comps, and free food, and then dive into one of the most unforgettable caller interactions in Carton Show history. A blind listener schools the guys on Braille, touch typing, candy bars, and sports fandom, sparking hilarious (and tense) on-air debates.
Welcome to The Rizzuto Show — the funny podcast that proves trivia is less about knowing answers and more about how loudly you can defend the wrong ones.On this episode, the crew dives headfirst into another round of trivia Matchup, a game designed to test knowledge, memory, logic, and emotional stability… and somehow only one of those things shows up. Moon, Learn, Rafe, and King Scott take turns absolutely torching their own credibility while attempting to answer questions that sound easy until your brain fully abandons you under pressure. We kick things off with Moon vs. Learn, a showdown that immediately spirals thanks to Barbie lore, calories, immortal honey, and the eternal question: what actually is a group of flamingos called? (Spoiler: nobody feels confident, but Moon feels confident anyway.) Marco Polo's nationality becomes a full vibe-based argument, Friends episode counts get wildly inflated, and logic is applied in ways science has specifically asked us not to.Then it's Rafe vs. King Scott, and this is where things truly get unhinged. Zodiac signs become public enemies, water signs are debated like conspiracy theories, and Rumpelstiltskin's straw-to-gold origin story is somehow made harder than it's been for centuries. Insulin, Yellowstone Lake, Johnny Carson, and the circumference of the Earth all take collateral damage as the crew confidently locks in answers that history itself disagrees with. What makes this episode special isn't who wins — it's how everyone loses just a little bit. The trash talk is elite, the confidence is unearned, and the logic is aggressively creative. This is The Rizzuto Show in peak form: loud, sarcastic, self-aware, and completely unbothered by being wrong as long as it's entertaining. If you love daily chaos, dumb confidence, and the sound of your own brain yelling “HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW THIS?” at your speakers, this funny podcast is exactly what you signed up forFollow The Rizzuto Show → https://linktr.ee/rizzshowConnect with The Rizzuto Show Comedy Podcast → https://1057thepoint.com/RizzShowHear The Rizz Show daily on the radio at 105.7 The Point | Hubbard Radio in St. Louis, MOSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this Monday Headline Brief of The Wright Report, Bryan details a shocking weekend in Minnesota that left one activist dead, a federal officer permanently injured, and the state spiraling toward open defiance of federal law. Bryan walks listeners through the fatal shooting of activist Alex Pretti during an ICE and Border Patrol arrest, the discovery that Democrat-linked activists are organizing surveillance cells to track federal officers, and the revelation that one protestor later bit off the finger of a DHS agent. He explains the legal facts of the encounter, the role of Governor Tim Walz's campaign strategist in mobilizing protestors, and why federal investigations, lawsuits, and even a government shutdown may follow. The episode then pivots globally. Bryan reveals new details about President Trump's capture of Nicolás Maduro, including a secret directed-energy-style weapon that disabled Russian and Chinese systems. He covers Trump's consideration of a naval blockade of Cuba, the pressure campaign squeezing Mexican oil shipments to Havana, and Washington's push to rapidly restart Venezuelan oil production while cutting China out. Finally, Bryan reports encouraging news from Cambodia as U.S. naval access expands in the Gulf of Thailand, then closes with a stunning development inside China as President Xi purges a top general and boyhood friend amid allegations of corruption and espionage. He explains why the move weakens China's military readiness and could delay any action against Taiwan, while underscoring that Xi now rules China as an unchecked dictator. Evan and Tiki open the phones on the Giants coaching search, but the conversation quickly pivots to the most entertaining game of Wild Card Weekend: Bills vs Jaguars. After Josh Allen's ridiculous late push, the classic barstool argument erupts at the goal line. Do you take a knee at the 1 and bleed clock, or punch in the touchdown and trust your defense? Evan says it's simple: if you need a touchdown, you take the touchdown, because nothing is guaranteed in the red zone. The crew debates the value of those 30 extra seconds, the risk of giving away a down, and why Buffalo's past “13 seconds” trauma still hangs over every late game decision. Then the calls roll in, including a furious breakdown of a chaotic end of half sequence that nearly handed Jacksonville points and could have changed the entire game if the kick was made. And to top it off, Evan unloads on Tony Romo's bizarre broadcast, from head scratching commentary to a moment where Romo somehow convinced himself a clear Josh Allen touchdown might not count.
