Austin and Isaac are joined by Darryl Williamson, pastor of Living Faith Bible Fellowship in Tampa Bay, Florida. Darryl has been pursuing multi-ethnic unity as a pastor for over a decade and has much wisdom to share about working toward unity without growing bitter. We hope you are encouraged. Show Notes:Living Faith Bible Fellowship's website. Darryl's books: 12 Faithful Men and All Are Welcome.
Disunity has become an epidemic within American churches. Yet the vision of unity is core to the very purpose and identity of the church! Pastor Darryl walks us through how Living Faith Bible Fellowship can pursue unity within our community that lasts because our unity proves that Christ is Lord.
In the second sermon in our Reset mini series, Pastor D gives us the map of where Living Faith Bible Fellowship is going with God in our community. We want to be a church that righteously stamps out poverty in our pews and in the neighborhood around us so that generational bonds can be broken and flourishing can take place. Disclaimer: Pastor D is NOT a socialist.
We jump into a brief new sermon series to kick off 2023! As we look to the coming year at Living Faith Bible Fellowship, Pastor D encourages us to look back at God's faithfulness and to then begin to dream about what that will look like as we humbly work to make much of His name in our community.
In February 2019, EFCA pastors and church leaders gathered at Trinity International University in Deerfield, Illinois, for the annual Theology Conference. The focus of the preconference was on the theme, “Evangel, Evangelical, Evangelicalism and the EFCA.” On this episode of the podcast, we share the third and final session, which is a panel discussion with Mark Noll and Daryl Williamson, moderated by Greg Strand, as they engage with one another and respond to questions asked by others. Mark serves as the research professor of history at Regent College in Vancouver, British Columbia, and professor emeritus at Notre Dame University in South Bend, Indiana. Darryl serves as the lead pastor of Living Faith Bible Fellowship in Tampa, Florida. Greg serves as the executive director of theology and credentialing in the EFCA.

Pastor Darryl Williamson graciously joins us on the podcast today. He's the Lead Pastor of Living Faith Bible Fellowship in Tamp, Florida (glory to God for the scenery) and is also a council member of The Gospel Coalition. In today's episode I interview Pastor Darryl and discuss the story of how he led his church into a multi ethnic congregation instead of remaining homogenous. He shares the challenges and the how-to behind preaching to multiple cultures at the exact same time in the exact same sermon. He shares with us how to preach in such a way that our sermons stick with our people especially when they find themselves in difficult and precarious positions. We spend time talking about how to bring our sermons to bear on peoples lives in a way that is relational and actionable.
On today’s episode of the Journeywomen podcast, I’m chatting with Quina Aragon about maintaining a heart for ministry. We talked about everything from our own fears in ministry to how the gospel encourages us in the ministry the Lord has set before us. So you’ll know her a little better, Quina is a wife, mother, and artist who enjoys copyediting, creating spoken word videos, and writing intermittently for The Gospel Coalition and The Witness BCC. She lives in Tampa, Florida, and is a member of Living Faith Bible Fellowship where she serves as a small group ministry leader. Quina’s first children’s book is set to release in February 2019 by Harvest House Publishers, so be on the lookout for that! I am so thankful for Quina’s encouragement to seek to glorify God in whatever ministry he has set before us. I interviewed Darryl Williamson, pastor of Living Faith Bible Fellowship and asked him if he had ever experienced racial bias, what does justice look like to him, and we could pursue reconciliation.
