In this powerful sermon, Pastor Karl draws a vivid parallel between the Revolutionary War's militiamen and minutemen and the life of a Christ follower, urging us to live as dedicated “minutemen” of faith. Reflecting on his recent trip to Boston, Karl connects the historic battles of Lexington and Concord to the call in 2 Timothy 2 to be strong in God's grace, not our own strength. He challenges us to flee from what dishonors God and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace with unwavering commitment. Using Paul's metaphors of a soldier, athlete, and farmer, Karl emphasizes enduring suffering, staying focused on God's mission, and avoiding distractions that entangle us. This message inspires us to embody authentic faith, rely on God's unmerited favor, and live purposefully for Christ's kingdom, ensuring our lives align with His calling.Watch all our sermons on our YouTube channel "Flipside Christian Church"Join us in person 9:00am & 10:30am every Sunday morning.37193 Ave 12 #3h, Madera, CA 93636For more visit us at flipside.churchFor more podcasts visit flipsidepodcasts.transistor.fm

Born and raised in southeastern Wisconsin, Chad Stillman was introduced to sports and the outdoors at a young age.  Growing up, if you couldn't find him on the soccer or football field, chances are he was in the woods or on the water. Those two passions would lead to a stint as a semi-pro kicker for the Racine Raiders and a cameraman for Bowhunting.com. By 22 years old, he was fresh out a college, a homeowner and embarking on his lifelong dream of working in law enforcement. Quickly moving up in the ranks, he received a promotion to the SWAT Team and ultimately settled in as an FBI Task Force Investigator. To warn our audience, this isn't an easy conversation to listen to as Chad takes us on the emotional journey of his story. Struggling at times to share it here, he details the events of January 17, 2018, a day that changed his life and the lives of others forever. 7 years later and battling with PTSD from the events of that evening, he gives credit to time in the outdoors, the support of friends and family, but most notably his faith, for sustaining him when the pressures of life are too much.     www.taurususa.com www.cva.com www.himtnjerky.com www.murrelloptics.com www.jumpmedic.com www.christianoutdoors.org www.citrusafe.com www.elimishieldhunt.com

This sermon from 1 Timothy 2:1-8 explores the call for faithful men in the church, highlighting the cultural confusion surrounding manhood and the biblical vision for godly leadership. While society has distorted masculinity—either portraying men as oppressive or irrelevant—God's design calls men to depend on Him through prayer, pursue purity in heart and action, and foster peace rather than pride-fueled conflict. Faithful men create safety, strengthen the church, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations. Though none are perfect, Jesus—the true faithful man—calls men to surrender, be transformed by His Spirit, and lead with courage, humility, and love.

Sermon Overview Scripture Reference: Matthew 25:21 God preserves the faithful (see Psalm 31:23). Faithfulness is God's measurement for our blessing. One day, our reward, or lack of it, will be according to our faithfulness. Faithfulness means integrity, loyalty, and steadfastness. In Matthew 23, we see what, why, and how to be faithful men and women of God. Matthew 23:21 says, “His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'” A man of God is faithful to family. He keeps his promises. He is faithful in his finances. He knows that how he handles money is an indication of how he handles spiritual treasure. He gives proportionally, as God prospers him. He is faithful in his friendships. Friends are bound to fail us, stumble, and do us wrong; but a faithful man is a good friend, who gives the benefit of the doubt and overlooks offenses. He is faithful to attend church. The Body of Christ owes each other fearful loyalty; for the Lord's sake, a faithful man does not forsake the assembly (see Hebrews 10:25). He is faithful to the Word of God. To pass truth onto the next generation, a faithful man understands he has to be firmly rooted in Scripture. We ought to be faithful in these areas because Jesus is faithful to us. He is faithful to us in our failure, our temptation, and our falling. He is faithful to us to the very end, so we can be faithful to the end. We must be faithful in the small things because that is where success or failure truly lie. Adrian Rogers says, “Do you know what the big things in life are made up of? Little acts, little words, little thoughts.” We must be faithful in the secret things; Adrian Rogers says, “What you are in secret is what you are, nothing more or nothing less.” And we must be faithful in the sacred things; meet with God daily, fully committed, abiding in Him. Apply it to your life Yield to God, and ask Him to make you faithful in every area of your life. No amount of resolution or gritting your teeth will make you a faithful man of God. It comes from abiding in Jesus and showing up to meet Him every day.

2 Timothy 2: 1-7 You then, my child, be strengthened by the grace that is in Christ Jesus, 2 and what you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses entrust to faithful men,[a] who will be able to teach others also. 3 Share in suffering as a good soldier of Christ Jesus. 4 No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him. 5 An athlete is not crowned unless he competes according to the rules. 6 It is the hard-working farmer who ought to have the first share of the crops. 7 Think over what I say, for the Lord will give you understanding in everything.

Asd transparent as I've been, I always shied away from bring up Religion on this show. Reason being it is such a hot button issue, I'd basically decided it was going to be one the few topics I would avoid bringing up. But something happened this year - been dealing with a lot of particular issues, from my personal health, to family emergencies, to professional shifts and everything in between. Overwhelm has really done a number on me on many fronts. Found myself doing a lot of soul searching of sorts and it is in conversation with my good friend Phil, that the subject of our religious upbringing came up as we were reminiscing about growing up in Haiti and how church was an non-negotiable. In my admitting that I was feeling a bit "lost" in how I, as husband and father, was leading and caring my family, he suggested and invited me to participate in the Faithful Men's Fellowship bible study group.  In a sense of vulnerability and willingness to open my heart to reconnecting with my faith, I got on the Zoom call and got acquainted with a group of well-meaning, like-minded, incredibly open-hearted men who welcomed me with respect, truth and immense compassion. As the leader and main speaker of the group, Pastor Michael Winfrey caught my eye as a no-holds barred, casual, insightful voice of wisdom and guidance that speaks to us from a place of experience and raw truth. Which is why I wanted to have him on the show, as my first impression was such a resonating one. Felt like showing some gratitude and letting you guys know a bit more about the group and mission. You can connect with Pastor Mike on Facebook or ...you're welcome to join the group for the weekly Saturday prayer call.
