In this episode, Kelsi Sheren discusses the recent U.S. military operation in Venezuela that resulted in the removal of President Nicolás Maduro. She explores the implications of this action for Canada, particularly regarding its energy sector and geopolitical standing. Kelsi argues that Canada has lost significant leverage over the U.S. and faces challenges in competing with Venezuelan oil. The conversation highlights the need for Canada to reassess its energy strategies and the potential consequences of its current political decisions. - - - - - - - - - - - -One Time Donation! - Paypal - https://paypal.me/brassandunityBuy me a coffee! - https://buymeacoffee.com/kelsisherenLet's connect!Youtube - https://www.youtube.com/@thekelsisherenperspectiveInstagram - https://www.instagram.com/thekelsisherenperspective?utm_source=ig_web_button_share_sheet&igsh=ZDNlZDc0MzIxNw%3D%3DX: https://x.com/KelsiBurnsInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/kelsie_sheren/Substack: https://substack.com/@kelsisherenTikTok - https://x.com/KelsiBurnsListen on Spotify - https://open.spotify.com/show/1O3yiobOjThKHtqyjviy1a?si=6c78bdc2325a43aeSUPPORT OUR SPONSORS - - - - - - - - - - - -MasterPeace - 10% off with code KELSI - MasterPeace.Health/KelsiKetone IQ- 30% off with code KELSI - https://ketone.com/KELSIGood Livin - 20% off with code KELSI - https://www.itsgoodlivin.com/?ref=KELSIBrass & Unity - 20% off with code UNITY - http://brassandunity.com- - - - - - - - - - - - -CHARITYHeroic Hearts Project - https://www.heroicheartsproject.orgDefenders of Freedom - https://www.defendersoffreedom.usBoot Campaign - https://bootcampaign.org

When we come to that metaphysical manger in our internal Bethlehem on Christmas and relight that spiritual fire, a key question arises: How can we keep the fire going? “For many of us things can get dusty, musty, and rusty pretty quickly,” Rev. Rick notes. But through our powers of zeal, love, and flowing in divine order we can keep that fire alive, he adds. In this episode, Kelsi Sheren reflects on the growth of her show in 2025 and introduces the controversial topic of 'Dying with Dignity' and its recent partnership with the Pancreatic Cancer Society. She discusses the implications of legacy planning as a deceptive tactic for promoting euthanasia and calls for action against the pro-death agenda that is gaining traction in Canada and beyond. CTL Script/ Top Stories of January 2nd Publish Date: January 2nd Pre-Roll: From the Ingles Studio Welcome to the Award-Winning Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast Today is Friday, January 2nd and Happy Birthday to Cuba Gooding Jr. I’m Chris Culwell and here are the stories Cherokee is talking about, presented by Times Journal Cherokee County’s Development Service Center going cashless Cherokee County musician Kurt Lee Wheeler performs in movie MLK Day Unity Breakfast returning to Canton after hiatus Plus, Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on breads We’ll have all this and more coming up on the Cherokee Tribune-Ledger Podcast, and if you’re looking for Community news, we encourage you to listen and subscribe! Commercial: INGLES 9 STORY 1: Cherokee County’s Development Service Center going cashless The Cherokee County Development Service Center is now cashless—no more bills or coins at the counter. If you’re handling business licenses, building permits, alcohol licenses, or even motorized cart registrations, you’ll need to pay with a card, check, money order, or online. The office, located on the ground floor of the county’s admin building in Canton, says this change will speed things up and make transactions more secure. So, plan ahead—no cash, no exceptions. Got questions? Call 770-721-7810 or email dsc@cherokeecountyga.gov. And hey, for more details, check out their website. STORY 2: Cherokee County musician Kurt Lee Wheeler performs in movie Kurt Lee Wheeler’s had plenty to smile about this holiday season. By day, he’s teaching at Creekland Middle School in Canton—a job he loves. But outside the classroom? He’s been busy releasing a new album and making his movie debut. After hearing his music, producer and actress Roberta Sparta invited Wheeler to perform in The Secret Life of a Good Wife, a Lifetime movie that premiered Thanksgiving Day. In a scene shot in Acworth, Wheeler and his band played during an outdoor gathering. Wheeler’s new album, Lathemtown, features some of the best bluegrass talent around, including Aaron Ramsey and Jake Stargel. A Cherokee County favorite, Wheeler’s also known for writing the county’s official song and performing at countless local events. With retirement from teaching on the horizon this May, Wheeler’s looking forward to traveling, spending time with his new grandchild, and, of course, making more music. STORY 3: MLK Day Unity Breakfast returning to Canton after hiatus The MLK Day Unity Breakfast is making its long-awaited return to Canton on Jan. 19 after a six-year break. This free event kicks off at 8 a.m. with breakfast at the Cherokee County Conference Center (1130 Bluffs Parkway), followed by a program at 9 a.m. honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of equality, justice, and service. The keynote speaker? Canton native and weather-climate expert Dr. James Marshall Shepherd, a Cherokee High valedictorian who’s advised NASA, Congress, and even the White House. The program will also feature local leaders, a community choir, creative dance, and the CFCC Unity Award Presentation. For more info or to donate, visit cfergusoncc.org. We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back. Break: INGLES 10 STORY 4: Johns Creek holds off Cherokee Cherokee had its shot—literally—but couldn’t quite close the deal, falling 69-63 to Johns Creek in Monday’s Lemon Street Classic at Marietta High. Down two with 33 seconds left, Polk Corben’s steal and layup gave Cherokee life. Then Johns Creek missed two free throws, leaving the door wide open. But Braylon Luster’s potential game-tying shot? Off the mark. Forced to foul, Cherokee watched the Gladiators ice it with four free throws. Tatum Holmes led the Gladiators with 25 points, while Kaysan Brock added 13. For Cherokee, Sean Williams and Braylon Luster each dropped 21, with Luster sparking a furious fourth-quarter rally. Trailing 58-46 after three, Cherokee clawed back with a 10-2 run, cutting the lead to one. But Brock’s clutch three-pointer with 1:33 left sealed the Gladiators’ win. It was a back-and-forth battle early. Cherokee’s hot start from deep gave them a 9-2 lead, but Johns Creek answered with a 12-4 run, fueled by three triples. By halftime, the Gladiators clung to a 30-28 edge. In the end, Cherokee’s fight wasn’t enough. FALCONS: The Falcons’ season, a rollercoaster of confusion and chaos, somehow got even weirder Monday night. Already eliminated from playoff contention weeks ago, Atlanta (7-9) pulled off a dramatic 27-24 win over the Rams, their third straight victory in a season that’s been equal parts frustrating and baffling. Zane Gonzalez nailed a 51-yard field goal with 21 seconds left, capping a game where Atlanta blew a 21-point lead but still managed to hang on. It’s been that kind of year—beating Super Bowl contenders like Buffalo and L.A., but losing to teams like the Jets and Panthers. Go figure. Bijan Robinson was unstoppable, racking up 195 rushing yards, two touchdowns, and a highlight-reel 93-yard run that left jaws on the floor. But let’s not sugarcoat it—this season’s been a mess. Special teams? A disaster, with yet another blocked field goal returned for a touchdown. The Cousins signing? A head-scratcher. And yet, somehow, the Falcons are ending the year on a high note, showing flashes of the potential fans expected back in August. For now, though, they’ll be watching the playoffs from the couch—again. I’m Keith Ippolito and this is your tribune ledger sports minute. STORY 5: New laws will address professional services, homeowner protections, car owners and politicians While most laws from this year’s legislative session kicked in back in July, a few big ones kicked off on New Year’s Day. They tackle everything from dentist shortages to car tags, with a little campaign finance reform thrown in for good measure. Take House Bill 148, for example. Rep. John Carson, a CPA from Cobb, is trying to fix Georgia’s accountant shortage. His bill updates a 30-year-old licensing system, making it easier to become a CPA and letting out-of-state firms work here without opening an office. Then there’s House Bill 567, aimed at solving the dentist drought. Rep. Katie Dempsey’s bill allows licensed dentists to practice online—yes, teledentistry is now a thing—and ensures dental plans cover it. Homeowners get a win, too. Senate Bill 35 doubles the notice period for nonrenewal of certain insurance policies to 60 days. And Senate Bill 112 makes HVAC warranties transferable to new buyers and bans those annoying “register your product or lose your warranty” rules. Campaign finance? Senate Bill 199 tightens the rules, requiring PACs to keep detailed bank records and file disclosures with the State Ethics Commission. Oh, and candidates can’t be investigated within 60 days of an election. And for the patriotic crowd, there’s Senate Bill 291. It introduces a new license plate with the American flag and “America First” slogan. Proceeds go to the state’s general fund. And now here is Leah McGrath from Ingles Markets on breads Commercial: We’ll have closing comments after this. What happens when you combine end-of year reflection, Unity metaphysics, and the principles of Kwanzaa? Some might expect a clash of traditions; but we know it is the convergence of deep and practical spiritual Truth. This final Sunday of 2025 gives us an opportunity to notice how collective intention shapes individual lives -- and how individual healing uplifts the whole. Guided by Dr. Tracy Brown we will celebrate our victories, release patterns that block our future, and prepare ourselves to rise together to reach new heights in 2026.

2026 - Bliain Úr faoi Mhaise DaoibhseA very happy New Year to all readers of this column, to the staff of the Belfast Media Group and The Irish Echo. And to you good readers who have stayed with me over the years.None of us know what 2026 will bring but we can be sure it will be interesting. May it also be good to you all and to your families. Beirigí bua. Eyes On The Prize. 2025 was a good year for Irish Unity. All of those advocating for a new Ireland, including Sinn Féin's Commission on the Future of Ireland, worked hard and effectively promoting the message that Irish Unity will be good for the people of the island of Ireland. Crucially, both houses of the Oireachtas, the Dáil and the Seanad, passed motions calling on the Irish government to begin the process of planning and preparing for Unity referendums. These include The Oireachtas Good Friday Agreement Committee. This is the only all-Ireland committee in Leinster House. It is unique in that Members of Parliament from the north join TDs and Senators to work on issues relating to the implementation of the Good Friday Agreement. The Good Friday Agreement remains the basis for relations on the island of Ireland and between the islands of Ireland and Britain. However, its implementation has been challenged, principally by indifference from London and a lack of consistent and positive leadership from Dublin.‘I'm so scared, please come'For as long as I have been a republican activist I have been reading and writing about the impact of British colonialism on peoples around the world. As the largest empire in human history Britain's conquests and exploitation of other places resulted in untold misery, death and hardship for those living under British rule - not least here in Ireland. To maintain its domination, the British Empire used violence and dehumanised the peoples it sought to exploit. Behind its claim of being a guardian of the ‘rule of law' Britain stole land and property, exploited mineral resources and reduced native peoples to little more than slaves.Among those many locations was Palestine. British policy is largely responsible for the decades of war that have plighted that land for a hundred years. Current British government policy is facilitating the genocide of the Palestinian people by the Israeli apartheid regime.I have visited Palestine and Israel on at least four occasions, including the Gaza Strip in 2009. I walked along the ‘separation wall' – a monstrous perversion designed to imprison Palestinians into smaller and smaller ghettoes.
Do you and your spouse disagree about discipline—one of you feels too strict while the other feels too soft? Are your kids pushing boundaries, playing you against each other, or reacting emotionally because expectations aren't clear? In this episode of the Extraordinary Family Life Podcast, Greg and Rachel Denning break down the authoritative parenting style—and why it's the gold standard for raising confident, capable, emotionally healthy kids. You don't need to parent the same way, but you do need to parent from the same underlying approach. We explain why discipline is rooted in teaching, not punishment, and how authoritative parenting creates structure without control and warmth without permissiveness. When parents are divided, kids feel insecure. When parents are united, children feel safe—and behavior improves naturally. This episode walks through the four major parenting styles, why authoritarian and permissive approaches both fail long-term, and how authoritative parenting balances firm boundaries with connection, respect, and clarity. We also discuss:Why kids actually need boundaries to feel safeHow to disagree as parents without damaging your marriageThe difference between being a boss and being a leader in your homeHow to repair mistakes in real time (even in front of your kids)Why teaching builds internal motivation while punishment creates fearIf you want kids who do the right thing for the right reason—and a home built on trust, stability, and mutual respect—this episode gives you the framework.Key Takeaways✅ The authoritative parenting style creates security and confidence.✅ Discipline works best when it teaches instead of punishes.✅ Kids need clear boundaries to feel safe—not freedom without limits.✅ Parents can have different styles but must share the same approach.✅ Firm and kind are not opposites—you need both.✅ Unity between parents prevents manipulation and power struggles.Memorable Quotes

They dive into the subtext of the resignation letter, whether this is about an oncoming referendum or possibly even an early election. The body of Christ must be in one mind and one accord. The season of Tabernacles. The time is NOW!
This passage from Philippians (2:1-2) encourages believers to live lives worthy of their calling, marked by unity, love, and mutual support. Paul uses a series of "if" statements to highlight the foundations of Christian community: encouragement in Christ, consolation of love, fellowship of the Spirit, and affection and compassion. These qualities, rooted in a relationship with Christ, should lead to a church characterized by like-mindedness, shared love, unity of spirit, and a singular purpose focused on advancing the Gospel. The passage contrasts this genuine Christian life with the deceptive nature of forgery, using the example of art forger Wolfgang Beltracchi, whose elaborate scheme was ultimately undone by a small detail. Pastor Jensen urges listeners to examine themselves, ensuring they exhibit the true fruit of the Spirit rather than a counterfeit, and calls on non-believers to repent and find true joy in Christ.www.ReformedRookie.comPodcast: https://anchor.fm/reformedrookieFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheReformedRookie Twitter: https://twitter.com/NYapologistSemper Reformanda!#philippians #philippians1 #christianliving #churchunity #gospel #faith #love #fellowship #spiritualgrowth #reformedtheology #biblestudy

In this episode, I share why celebrating everything celebratable is one of the simplest ways to create unity, empathy, and real connection. When we focus on gratitude, light, family, and shared joy, we find common ground across every culture, belief, and tradition. I explain how appreciating differences—not forcing equality—builds stronger communities and a true mindset of abundance. By honoring non-negotiable values while staying flexible in how we celebrate, we create environments where people feel seen, respected, and connected. That's how celebration becomes a bridge—and a legacy. To join my next free Friday Training sessions, email me at david@dmeltzer.com

Missionary martyr Jim Elliot famously wrote, “He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose.” Those words capture a vision of life that values eternal reward over temporary success—and they're being lived out today in an unexpected place: the NFL.When many people think of professional athletes, generosity may not be the first word that comes to mind. But Kirk Cousins, a 4-time Pro Bowl quarterback, is quietly challenging that assumption. For Cousins, faith isn't a compartment—it's the lens through which he approaches football, finances, family, and the future.A Faith Shaped at HomeKirk often points back to his upbringing as a pastor's kid. His parents modeled two complementary virtues: careful stewardship and open-handed generosity. Budgets mattered. Overspending was avoided. But when it came to helping others, generosity was practiced freely. That example left a lasting impression. As Kirk puts it, generosity was caught, not just taught. Watching his parents hold money loosely prepared him for a future where financial decisions would come with far greater stakes—and far greater temptation. When Kirk entered the NFL, the learning curve was steep. His first signing bonus—a six-figure check—was unlike anything he had ever seen. Unsure how to handle it, he called his dad for advice, only to discover they were navigating unfamiliar territory together. That moment marked the beginning of a stewardship journey that continues today. From the start, Kirk committed to simple but demanding principles: give first, save wisely, and live within bounds. Practicing those habits early helped anchor him when income grew and public pressure mounted. The Tension of a Finite CareerUnlike many professions, professional athletics comes with a built-in expiration date. That reality creates a unique tension: the need to save aggressively while still giving generously. For Kirk, that tension has become an invitation to trust God more deeply.Giving can feel risky when a career is visibly diminishing. Yet Kirk sees those moments as opportunities to shift the pressure off himself and back onto God—to believe that obedience and generosity create space for God to provide and direct what comes next. From Rules to RelationshipOne of Kirk's most compelling insights is the distinction between religious box-checking and genuine discipleship. It's possible, he admits, to treat giving like a checklist—do the minimum, meet the requirement, move on. But that's not the abundant life Jesus describes.Instead, Kirk points to Jesus' parable of the hidden treasure. When the treasure is truly seen as valuable, surrender becomes logical, even joyful. Financial decisions don't lead the heart; the heart leads the finances. When Christ is the treasure, generosity follows naturally.Scripture doesn't give a universal percentage or spending rule for believers. That absence is intentional—it drives us to prayer and discernment. Kirk and his wife, Julie, continue to wrestle with what “enough” looks like for their family, recognizing that the answer requires humility, wisdom, and the Holy Spirit's leading.Money, Kirk says, is a tool—a test, a testimony, and a means to an end. Growth without purpose risks becoming a search for control rather than an instrument for Kingdom impact. The question isn't just how much is being accumulated, but why.Unity in GenerosityOne of the most formative pieces of advice Kirk received early in his career was simple: always give in unity with your wife. That principle has shaped every major giving decision he and Julie make.Disagreement isn't ignored—it's prayed through. Spousal unity, Kirk believes, is often a channel through which God provides clarity and protection. Generosity practiced together strengthens both stewardship and marriage. As they consider estate planning and their children's future, Kirk and Julie intentionally prioritize wisdom over wealth. Their hope is not simply to pass down assets, but to raise children who can steward them faithfully.Their long-term vision includes generous support for their foundation and Kingdom causes, with no desire for wealth to linger aimlessly beyond its intended purpose. In Kirk's words, the goal is impact—not permanence. One place especially close to Kirk's heart is Christian education. His experience attending a Christian high school profoundly shaped his faith, and he's passionate about ensuring future generations have access to a similar formative environment. Supporting schools, teachers, and students has become a meaningful outlet for his generosity.A Different Definition of SuccessKirk Cousins' story reminds us that success isn't measured by contracts, trophies, or net worth—but by faithfulness. In a world that applauds accumulation, his life points to something better: surrender, trust, and joyful generosity rooted in Christ. As Ron Blue often says, the question isn't how much we can keep, but how much is enough—and what God would have us do with the rest.On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:I recently sold my business, and after paying off debts and taxes, I expect to have approximately $2–$2.5 million. It's a bit overwhelming, but I feel incredibly blessed and grateful. I have a few questions: How should I invest this money safely, given that I'm pretty risk-averse? How much cash should I keep on hand? And I also have a question about tithing.Resources Mentioned:Faithful Steward: FaithFi's Quarterly Magazine (Become a FaithFi Partner)Kirk CousinsJulie & Kirk Cousins FoundationWisdom Over Wealth: 12 Lessons from Ecclesiastes on MoneyLook At The Sparrows: A 21-Day Devotional on Financial Fear and AnxietyRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions every workday at (800) 525-7000.
