With our special guests, Shannon Muir and Gregory Tyler, we continue our discussion about all of the 26 episodes that made up Voltron: The Third Dimension. We also talk about the full line of Trendmasters toys that supported the show in the retail outlets, and we finish by giving credit to all the talented people that worked on Voltron: The Third Dimension and paved the way for CGI animation in the late 90's. We want to thank Shannon Muir and Gregory Tyler for this comprehensive and detailed look at Voltron: The Third Dimension. Their insight into the story, background, characters, and mythology of Voltron really made this a unique look at Voltron: The Third Dimension that has never been heard before. You can reach Shannon Muir through her website at http://www.shannonmuir.com Gregory Tyler is on Facebook, where he's always willing to have a conversation about Voltron toys, mythos, characters, episodes or anything Sci-Fi as well. Voltron: The Third Dimension was the first 3D animated show fully produced in the US. On this first part of 2 podcast episodes, Marc brings special guests Shannon Muir and Gregory Tyler together to discuss the show in detail. From Behind-the-scenes techniques to episode reviews, we cover this Emmy-winning show completely. Gregory Tyler was co-host with Marc on episodes 26 and 27 of Let's Voltron, when we discussed Vehicle Team Voltron in great detail. Now, we catch up on his 3D-printed Panosh Place style Vehicle Voltron project and learn some behind the scenes motion capture techniques that made the character movements so real. Thanks for joining us on the podcast again, Greg! Shannon Muir has been a Voltron Fan since Day 1 and credits Voltron for inspiring her career in writing and animation production, and she was the creator of the Denubian Star Map, that was actually used by WEP for helping make sense of the Voltron Universe. Here is a link to the Making of Voltron: The Third Dimension: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaA4rBwm7ro In our next episode, Part 2, we will conclude the review of all the 26 episodes of Voltron: The Third Dimension, and we'll cover the Trendmasters line of toys that were released in the late 90's to support this show. Welcome Back, Jeremy Corray! You will find Jeremy and John Teichmann have a lot in common in this episode, as we go back in time to when the first tapes were delivered to WEP, and an innocent mistake in shipping led to Voltron: Defender of the Universe. Original Series Associate Producer John Teichmann gives Marc and Jeremy a first-hand account of what it was like to be involved with the Voltron phenomenon from the beginning, and what keeps people talking about it to this very day. John identifies some of the key features that made broadcasters buy into the Voltron promise, including excellent stereo sound by Paul Vitello and his team, superior music by John Petersen and Dale Schacker, and great writing by Jameson Brewer, Marc Handler, and the rest of the writing team. John gives insight into a side of the Voltron story we had not ever heard before, and details what he has been doing since Voltron finished its original television run in 1986. All we can say is, when do we get to see Albegas? Thanks for listening!

In part one of a two-part episode, Marc, Mike and Jeremy all interview Marc Handler, the head writer for the Original series after Jameson Brewer, who also wrote the Fleet of Doom special, which brought together the Lion Force Voltron and the Vehicle Voltron teams. Marc Handler was the Head Writer for Voltron: The Third Dimension, the first US-produced 3D animated series. Marc Handler is currently living and working in Shanghai, China, and was the WEP representative that worked with Toei Animation in Japan when WEP commissioned Toei to produce the 20 original episodes of Lion Force Voltron back in 1985. Just to show how much Marc loves the fans, he recorded these two episodes with us between 12:30 AM and 2:45 AM in Shanghai. His enthusiasm is still very strong for Voltron and the fans of the series. Thank you, Marc! Marc gives our hosts a lesson about the original creators of the the Voltron animation from Japan. Humbly, Marc pays homage to the Japanese animators and writers that brought us this wonderful hero and characters that we have loved for 30 years! If you ever wondered what story Marc would pitch for the Live-Action Voltron Movie, you'll hear it here first on the Let's Voltron Podcast. We know you all gave us great questions for Marc Handler. Those questions will all be answered in Part 2 of our interview with Marc Handler, coming next week. So, come back here for Part 2, because Marc Handler will give great insight for writers. If you want to become a writer, or improve on your writing, Marc gives some great tips. Thank you for listening!
