UPDATE 12:01pm – CPS Energy crews have identified the problem, according to FELPS; estimated repair time is 1-2 hours. *** The city of Floresville is in the dark, following a transmission outage. The outage, which started just after 11am Monday and affects approximately 14,000 customers, may continue for between 2 and 4 hours, according to Marcy Jacobs, chief operating officer at the Floresville Electric Light & Power System (FELPS). Jacobs says the problem is on the CPS Energy side of operations. The outage affects all of Floresville and nearby areas.Article Link
The Floresville Electric Light & Power System board trustees voted Wednesday to terminate Chief Executive Officer Greg Low. Trustees took the action after a three-hour executive session at a regular Aug. 25 meeting. According to board Chairman Daniel Tejada, the termination was made “with cause” and was effective immediately. In accordance with the utility's organization chart, its chief operational officer, Marcy Jacobs, will temporarily assume the chief executive officer's duties. Until recently, the only thing worse than visiting a Veterans Affairs facility in person with questions was visiting it online. Over the years VA had developed a tangle of web sites, logins and forms. Now it's much easier with the digital equivalent of a single point of contact. Marcy Jacobs has been leading the word. The executive director of the VA's digital services, and a finalist in this year's Service to America Medals program, joined Federal Drive with Tom Temin for more.
