Welcome to Top of the Morning by Mint.. I'm Nelson John and here are today's top stories. Tariffs, Oil & Trump's India Puzzle Trump doubled tariffs on India to 50% over Russian oil purchases, hoping Delhi would bend. It hasn't. Ex-diplomat KP Fabian says Trump's “Triple T – Trumped-up Trump Tariffs” failed. Modi and Trump still call each other “friends,” but beneath the smiles, India is sticking to its long game: dealing with the US, Russia, and China without picking sides. Tharoor Fires Back Congress MP Shashi Tharoor dismissed US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick's claim that India will “say sorry” to Trump. “We have nothing to apologize for,” he said, pointing out that past US governments encouraged India to buy Russian oil. With Trump's team threatening harsher sanctions, Tharoor warned against his “mercurial temperament,” stressing India's right to protect its energy security. Physics Wallah's $437M Leap As Byju's and Unacademy crash, Physics Wallah is preparing a $437 million IPO. Revenue jumped 49% to $330 million, losses shrank, and the founders are betting on affordable, quality learning and physical coaching centers. Proof that content beats hype. Tihar's Image Makeover To overcome UK courts blocking extraditions, India let British officials inspect Tihar Jail. They were “largely impressed,” and Delhi even offered a special enclave for fugitives. With 178 extradition cases pending, including Mallya and Nirav Modi, India is desperate to fix its global image. India's $1.8M Trump Whisperer India hired Trump's ex-strategist Jason Miller for $1.8M a year to lobby in Washington. Miller recently posed with Trump at the White House, signaling Delhi now has a direct line into Trumpworld—an investment already paying off. Learn more about your ad choices. THE SWIMMER (1968) We dive deep in to The Swimmer and discuss and analyze, maybe just a little bit the glorious film directed by Frank Perry, based on a screenplay by Eleanor Perry, from the 12 page short story by John Cheever. "Well-off ad man Ned Merrill (Burt Lancaster) is visiting a friend when he notices the abundance of backyard pools that populate their upscale suburb. Ned suddenly decides that he'd like to travel the eight miles back to his own home by simply swimming across every pool in town."If you're reading this I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Jason Miller and Karen Grant - Many of us grew up in one faith tradition or another, and some of us with no church background at all. We have ideas of what we don't want our kids to hear or experience as it relates to God, church, or the Bible. Yet, we want our kids to know God and develop a faith in God. We just need some help. Karen Grant, our Director of Kids and Families, is here to help! Karen has served in a variety of children's ministry settings over the past 18 years and has a B.A. in Bible & Ministry from Bethel University. She is also a freelance artist and has called SBCC home since 2019. In this episode, you'll hear some of Karen's story, and you'll learn more about the vision she leads for kids and families at South Bend City Church. It's an approach that centers the character of God, ensures kids feel seen, safe, and loved, and that sends them home with curiosity and a growing faith. Karen is also offering a fall workshop for parents, beginning Thursday, September 18. This workshop will include a variety of contemporary voices, a little bit of paint, and group conversations, to explore how to talk about God, and to God, with kids. We'll explore ways to celebrate Christmas and Easter that are meaningful for the whole family. We'll learn ways of reading the Bible that are appropriate for kids of all ages. We'll also talk about SBCC's approach to communion and baptism. You'll go home with some simple tools and reminders -created with your own family in mind- that can encourage a child's faith journey.

In this episode, Jason Miller interviews Miriam Agrell and Kavita Vora from The Fraction Collective. The group discusses the reality of succession planning and how ESOPs are an attractive option for business owners who are looking for an exit strategy.
On today's episode of Govcon Giants, I sit down with Jason Miller, Executive Editor of Federal News Network, to unpack the chaos shaking the government contracting community. Over the last 4–6 months, we've seen partnerships shrink, contracts cut, and entire workforces pushed into early retirement. Jason pulls back the curtain on GSA consolidation, NASA SEWP, consulting contract crackdowns, and the uncertainty surrounding CMMC, NIST 800-171, and small business programs like 8(a). This isn't just noise—it's a direct hit on how small businesses survive and thrive in the federal marketplace. Jason and I go deep on the big numbers—25,000 fewer staff at GSA, programs like CIO-SP3 still stuck in protest, and the seven-year delay of CMMC rollout that's left contractors dangerously exposed. We also discuss how the Trump administration's aggressive cost-cutting, paired with industry silence, could cripple government contractors who refuse to speak up. If you're counting on the old rules to keep you safe, think again—this episode is your wake-up call. Jason Miller and Dale and Juanita Ryan - The biblical story, including what we see lived out in the life and teachings of Jesus, is this: God is love, we are loved, we are capable of loving others and we are called to a life of love. Participating in this story is, however, not always easy for us. Instead of welcoming the love of God, we sometimes find ourselves afraid that God is angry, distant, displeased, uncaring, or impatient. Instead of celebrating that we are loved, we sometimes fear that we are not lovable, not enough, or not measuring up. Instead of rejoicing in our calling to love others, we sometimes see other people through the distorting lens of our fears and judgments. This fall, we'll be hosting a workshop led by Dale and Juanita Ryan to explore these dynamics in community. Whether you're able to join us in person for the workshop or not, this episode will help you get to know Dale and Juanita, and to hear the heart behind their work. Until his retirement, Dale Ryan was a member of the faculty at Fuller Theological Seminary where he taught pastoral care classes about addiction, abuse and trauma. Currently Dr. Ryan is the executive director of the National Association for Christian Recovery, which he founded in 1990. He has earned a PhD (UCDavis, Biochemistry) and an M.Div. (Bethel Theological Seminary, St. Paul, MN). Juanita Ryan is a mental health clinical nurse specialist. She has had a private counseling practice for over 35 years. Because she writes and speaks about spirituality and trauma, many of the people she works with are seeking help in these areas. To learn more about her you can visit her website. Dale and Juanita have been married for 55 years. They have two sons and four grandkids. Most of what they know about distorted images of God, of self and of others comes from personal experience.

Born out of a cultural moment of growing distrust in science, BioLogos' Science is Good initiative explores how Christians can be a voice for the goodness of science. The episode connects the three parables of Matthew 25—about wisdom, stewardship, and mercy—with the work of three scientists whose careers exemplify these virtues. Epidemiologist Emily Smith shares how data-driven health work among the global poor reveals a form of wisdom that prepares for the needs of the most vulnerable. Se Kim, a science policy expert, reflects on the gift of scientific aptitude and the importance of investing in people and communities often left out of the scientific enterprise. And Francis Collins tells the story of hepatitis C, a curable disease still claiming lives, and how mercy means doing whatever it takes to bring healing to the “least of these.” Throughout, pastor Jason Miller offers insight into how Jesus' parables can still form our character—even in our attitudes toward science. Together, their stories serve as a faithful answer to the call: Science is good—and we are invited to live in the light of that truth. Theme song and credits m usic by Breakmaster Cylinder. Uncertainty and inflationary pressures tied to the Trump administration’s tariff policies may delay the trucking market’s recovery until next year. In this episode of the Talking Transports podcast, Dr. Jason Miller, a professor in supply chain management at Michigan State University’s Eli Broad College of Business, joins Lee Klaskow, Bloomberg Intelligence senior transportation and logistics analyst, to discuss how inflation may limit interest-rate cuts and weigh on consumer demand. Stronger demand will be key to tightening truck market conditions, especially as capacity exits remain sluggish. Miller also covers key freight indicators, chronic driver turnover, the outlook for autonomous trucking and the evolution of his mustache.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Anyone who pays attention to cloud computing in the federal community knows the term FedRAMP, but more than a decade after the program's establishment, it's becoming something new and hopefully a lot more streamlined. Part of that is the FedRAMP 20x Phase One pilot. The program management office is moving to a more elective or discretionary style of security verification rather than a prescriptive one. Pete Waterman is director of FedRAMP at the General Services Administration. He talked with Federal News Network's Jason Miller as part of our annual cloud exchange.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
