This week on The Roe Show, I sit down with two very talented young musicians, Julian & Annalisa Pavone.  Julian is “The World's Youngest Drummer!”® an honour awarded to him by Guinness World Records when he was 4 years, 10 months and 15 days old. Annalisa, Julian's younger sister is a singer who has supported her older brother since she could talk and is a sought after vocalist.  We discuss what it was like to perform at such a young age, how we first met at a trampoline park in Michigan, what it was like to meet Oprah (his personal favourite interview) when he performed on her 'Amazing Kids' episode at the age of just 3!  We also discuss their thoughts on the current music industry and the future.   We are even treated to a song snippet by Annalisa when she sings “You Are The Reason,” by Calum Scott, for us!    The dynamic duo have both performed on various television shows, together and independently, including 'The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,' ‘The Oprah Winfrey Show' and 'Good Morning America.'  Now, at 16, Julian plays a 22-piece custom drum set with 17 cymbals and a double kick. Julian is considered a musical prodigy by many. Joe Billingslea, who founded THE CONTOURS, likens Julian to a "modern Stevie Wonder" and thinks the kid has “serious soul”.  Julian is also “The World's Youngest Inventor!”® as he invented and received a patent for Abracadabra® Stain Cover-up at age 4. At age 7, he received a patent for his invention, Julian's Drum Gloves®. He is also "The World's Youngest Entrepreneur!”® producing his own healthy snack, Julian's GO Bars®.    Julian has also appeared on more than 300 television and news shows, including  “The Oprah Winfrey Show” (twice), “Good Morning America”, “The Maury Show”, “Martha Stewart”, “Inside Edition” (three times), “FOX News Dayside”, “Good Company”, MSNBC, WGN, Japan's #1 television show, “Amazing Stories” (twice) and on “Seriously Funny Kids” hosted by Heidi Klum. He has starred in a television show pilot, “Finding Julian's Band”®, created by Rocky Seprino and had a documentary about him produced by Korea's Seoul Broadcasting Systems. In addition, multi-award winning production company, WonderWorld Entertainment, signed him to star in and co-host the show, "All You Need Is Music", with Michael J. Powell (4-time Grammy Award winning producer).   I hope to have them back on again and have Julian show me how to play the drums; his passion for the industry is undeniable, as is his talent. They were a pleasure to have on the Show and for any kids who are looking at a career in music, this is the podcast for you.    For more information on Julian or to follow him: Website - www.LittleDrummerBaby.com Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/julian_pavone/ TikTok - “ https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMJftcK4t/ YouTube - https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCnlTBuC7j_sCJrYSdZjkURQ Guinness World Records - https://www.guinnessworldrecords.com/world-records/youngest-drummer For more information on Annalisa or to follow her: Instagram - https://instagram.com/annalisapavv?igshid=rtkyumoxjn15    #TheRoeShow #GRT

In this installment of the Detroit Worldwide Podcast, Marquis connects with Grammy-nominated, international recording artist and producer, Brandon Williams about his development as a  musician and the inspiration behind his latest album, "The Love Factor".    Brandon also discusses what it means to be an independent artist in the recording industry and how looking within helped him to define his sound as a multi-instrumentalist and producer.    About Brandon:   Brandon Williams is a multi-instrumentalist, artist, and Grammy-nominated producer. Raised in Detroit, Michigan, his love for music was cultivated at early age after learning to play several instruments during his formative years in the city. Under the tutelage and mentorship of Grammy and Billboard super producer, Michael J. Powell (Anita Baker), he has honed skills as an engineer and arranger becoming a "go-to guy"  for artists in a variety of genres.  As a musician and producer he has worked alongside and  has lent his hand to many artists including Pharoahe Monch, Bobby Creekwater, Jadakiss, Dr. Dre, Jazmine Sullivan, Foley (Miles Davis), Alchemist, Xzibit, Lin Rountree, Barrett Strong, Jay Electronica, Leon Ware,  Eminem and countless others.  In 2009, he collaborated with Vickie Winans on “How I Got Over”. The album earned him nine Stellar Awards nominations (winning one), a Grammy Award nomination, and a NAACP Image Award. In 2014 he released his full-length debut album titled XII which featured a variety of artists including Robert Glasper, Jesse Boykins III, Alex Isley, and Pharoahe Monch. The follow up to his debut album XII is a continued homage to the “producer album” a’la Quincy Jones, and features noteworthy collaborations from emerging and enduring artists like Alex Isley, Brian McKnight Jr., and Eric Roberson.  The Love Factor was released on September 13, 2019 and debuted on iTunes R&B charts at number 7 before ending the weekend at the number one spot. The album's warm reception is due in large part to the success of The Love Factor’s 2nd single “Don’t Give Up On Love” a collaboration between Williams and Eric Roberson that has been a long time in the making.   Connect with Brandon: Website: www.bwilliamsmusic.com Facebook:  Brandon Williams  Instagram:  @bwilliamsmusic Twitter: @bwilliamsmusic Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/bwilliamsmusic

Award-winning singer-songwriter Stephanie K offers no apologies, warnings or explanations for taking control and asserting her will on “Troublemaker,” her five-song debut EP that will be released October 20 by Woodward Avenue Records. Setting the stage for the EP is “Tonight,” a pulsing, high-energy electronic club banger written and produced by Trend Def aka the team of Mike Gonsolin and Nick Nittoli. Stephanie wrote the rest of the set with four-time Grammy winner Michael J. Powell (Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight) who produced the tracks.Pictured on the EP cover with a collection of heads hanging on the wall - trophies representing her romantic conquests - Stephanie’s lyrical subjects on “Troublemaker” are a mix of girl power bravura and rebellious party girl. The Detroit native writes from personal experience and insists that her material be honest and real. She empowers “Tonight” with a “go for it” mentality with meaning far beyond just a wild night out, but advocates going after your dreams zealously. She offers genuine emotion in an apology for breaking her lover’s heart because of cheating on him on the R&B/rock hybrid “Story Of A Broken Heart.” Anchored by pounding, funky staccato drums and doused with combustible live horns, Stephanie lays her cards on the table before a tantalizing dalliance on the tempestuous “Trouble.” A devilish electric guitar teases and taunts over kinetic synth beats on “Hard For Me” while Stephanie’s melodies and vocals take on haunting qualities.
