One of the most likable people in the pole vaulting community, Pat Manson, graced the podcast with his wisdom and AMAZING STORIES!!!  As far as funny and wild stories in Europe goes, this podcast has got to be one of the best so far.  So many cool stories about some of history's best vaulters.  It was so fun to hear about the adventures that Pat and company had traveling around Europe trying to make it as a professional pole vaulter.  After getting to know Pat, I think that adventure has really increased the richness of his life.  He mentions so many times in this podcast about  doing hard things and the power of experiencing things beyond your comfort zone.  This podcast was difficult to make happen, but as stated above, most great things in life come at the expense of hard work, and this podcast is a great example of that.

EP221: Yep, this episode is a doozy!!! I'm really stepping out into woo woo land with this one! I go into a lot more of my backstory than I typically do in my episodes which, including the telling of this amazing experience, makes this one a bit longer than most. I honestly didn't know what to expect going into this appointment with a Medium. All I hoped for was that my mom would be able to connect with the love of her life and get something from it and boy oh boy did that happen in spades! This is an example of something that I wanted to do for a long time. I began thinking about it before I ever met Gail, the Medium. And as I said in the episode, I believe I attracted her into my life, and perhaps my dad had a hand in that. But however it happened, the desire of my mind was enough to bring the opportunity into existence, and for that I'm immensely grateful. It was an experience of a lifetime. It will be hard to match it. It was unbelievable that I actually got to communicate with my loved one who is no longer physically here. And for any skeptic out there, I know it was him because his personality came through exactly how he was. It was uncanny. And I was able to get questions answered and the thoughts I've had about my mother's situation and how he would feel about it were validated.   So I finally JUST FRIGGIN' DID IT! I took this thought of mine and put it into action. It was a crazy thought, a scary action (for many reasons), and it was so easy to keep putting off, once I met Gail and knew she could make this happen for me. And now it's become one of the most magical experiences of my life. How about that?!!! So let my example be an inspiration to you to just go out and JUST FRIGGIN' DO IT!!! Take action on it today! Episode 10 of Paranormal Stories. This week the books are 'Soul Smart : What The Dead Teach Us About Spirit Communication.' by Susanne J. Wilson and 'Beyond Pascagoula: The Rest of the Amazing Story' by Dr. Irena ScottAs you may know I produce two podcasts, the past lives podcast and the Alien UFO Podcast and it is here that I combine the two. When I have a guests on my podcasts I read their books to research and work out questions for the episodes. When reading these books I always find such fascinating information which never makes it into the podcast and here I get a chance to give you a peek into the book.I did seek permission to record these extracts from the books and the authors kindly said yes.Dr. Irena Scott 'Beyond Pascagoula: The Rest of the Amazing Story'.What is best known about the UFO events of October 1973 is the Pascagoula abduction account of Charles Hickson and Calvin Parker. It began as an extremely credible report, but unlike many reports, intensive research has uncovered a number of additional reports of UFO sightings in the area at around the same time. This number continues to grow and more are given here. This has added to its credibility and because of this, it has been termed the best-documented alien abduction account on record. But much is not known about many elements associated with this event. It had numerous unique aspects, such as that the instruments the beings appeared to use to scan the men resembled such modern devices as the computerized axial tomography (CAT) scan. Such unique factors are compared to additional reports from the same time. This may be the first report of a new type of abduction event; there may have been a second abduction, by the same object at around the same time as Parker and Hickson's. Abductions appear to happen as single events, but this may have been extremely different and the first reported. And there may have even been several abduction attempts on the same night as the Pascagoula abduction. In addition much happened at the same time as the Pascagoula abduction, such as reports of close UFO encounters, a thunderous boom, and similar episodes that swarmed in to bewildered operators in many states across the USA. These events ushered in a massive UFO wave, possibly the largest wave ever experienced and possibly the last wave. The strange boom was no ordinary sound; it was one that, with the exception of the Krakatoa volcanic eruption of 1883, could be the most widespread audible sound ever recorded. It did not happen in some out of the way place; it happened in the nation's vital centers. It was felt in Washington DC, over areas of the nation's highest population density, its heartland, and several vital cities. This sound was analyzed according to the latest NASA research on sounds. The boom was quite unnatural and remarkable in many ways. The width of the sound would mean that the object causing it would be many miles high, in outer space, and in a location where there should be no overpressure. However, there was a large area of overpressure such that it broke windows in a swath over at least three states and it appeared able to cause ground movement over a large area. It appeared to defy the laws of physics. Unlike most UFO associated phenomena where there is no hard scientific proof, this sound was recorded on two seismographs, which may provide scientific proof of the existence of anomalous UFO phenomena associated events.BioDr. Irena Scott received her PhD from the University of Missouri in physiology, did post-doctoral research at Cornell University, has been an Assistant Professor at St. Bonaventure University, and has done research and teaching at The Ohio State University, the University of Missouri, the University of Nevada, and at Battelle Memorial Institute. She worked for the Defense Intelligence Agency and the Aerospace Center in satellite photography, was a volunteer astronomer at the Ohio State University Radio Observatory, and has taken flying lessons. Her publications include books, and works in scientific journals, magazines, newspapers, and she was a correspondent for Popular Mechanics magazine. She served on the MUFON Board of Directors (1993 to 2000), is a MUFON consultant in physiology and astronomy and a field investigator. She co-edited eight symposium proceedings, has been a State Section Director for Ohio MUFON, was a founding member of the Mid-Ohio Research Associates (MORA) and its journal editor, and has published UFO material in books and journals (including scientific journals).https://www.amazon.com/BEYOND-PASCAGOULA-REST-AMAZING-STORY-ebook/dp/B09FBNBT2L/ref=tmm_kin_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=1650111250&sr=8-1Susanne J. Wilson 'Soul Smart : What The Dead Teach Us About Spirit Communication.'SoulSmart: What The Dead Teach Us About Spirit Communication provides easy-to-follow steps that anyone can use to make his own direct connection with his own spirit guides and beloved people and pets now in spirit. SoulSmart presents a fascinating behind the scenes look at what the spirit world is doing to make the communication happen. The reader will learn how to establish the right conditions to invite dream visits and meditation visits with spirit loved ones, as well as how to meet and work with his spirit guides.BioSusanne Wilson is a scientifically authenticated evidence-based medium and spiritual teacher. Born gifted, Susanne hid in the "psychic closet" while working as a corporate executive and university director, until a near death experience changed her mind about what matters most, in life, and after life.Susanne's mission is to teach people how to make their own connections with guides and loved ones in spirit. She has participated in controlled scientific research with Dr. Gary Schwartz who states, "Susanne has been one of the best. Her skills as an evidential medium are complimented by her high integrity, credibility, and moral principles."Susanne's work has also been acclaimed by Victor Zammit who states, "Susanne Wilson is a world class medium and spiritual teacher." Today I wanted to tell the story of Louis Zamperini, who was an Olympic athlete, WWII pilot and prisoner of war. Zamperini's plane was shot down over the South Pacific and he survived 47 days at sea before being captured by the Japanese. Unfortunately his nightmare had only begun as he was mercilessly tortured by a guard nicknamed “The Bird.” When Zamperini returned after the war he suffered from PTSD and nightmares. Then he became a born-again Christian and that path led him to being able to forgive his torturer. His nightmares ended and he even tried to meet with “The Bird” to forgive him and offer him a path of spirituality. The whole story is chronicled in the book Unbroken by Laura Hillenbrand and it is a beautiful tale of courage, faith, healing and forgiveness. Visit my website: saxinthemorning.com for merchandise and other links. Follow us on social media: Instagram: @saxinthemorning_podcastYouTube: subscribe and watch shorts here

We talk about acting with Robert Duvall, getting around lawsuits from McDonalds for THE FOUNDER, persevering to make KNIGHTFALL, being a videogame architect, guest staring on SAVED BY THE BELL: THE NEW CLASS, a potential rift in time/between universes, ghost hunting, and so much more. Don is the co-creator of History Channel's drama series Knightfall and produced The Founder, starring Michael Keaton, and Kill The Messenger, starring two-time Academy-Award nominated actor Jeremy Renner. Don also wrote and directed the Saturn Award-winning film Touchback starring Kurt Russell and Christine Lahti. His first comic series The Rift was produced by Steven Spielberg/Amblin Entertainment as an episode for the upcoming Apple reboot of Amazing Stories. His second series, The Mall, was optioned by Ivan Reitman (Ghostbusters) for development into a TV show. Don was named one of the top new faces of independent film by Filmmaker Magazine and has written screenplays or produced films for all the major studios. Joshua has written feature projects for Sony, Warner Brothers, Cross Creek Entertainment, Universal Pictures as well as for more than a dozen production companies, both big and small. These include: an adaptation of the 80's cult franchise Beastmaster, a supernatural thriller for Australian company See Films and a “re-boot” of the franchise Buck Rogers In the 25th Century. He also wrote and produced three documentaries: two about the art of puppetry, and the other about underground comics. In 2008, his screenplay Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever completed production for Lionsgate. He is currently developing an animated family film for Intrigue Entertainment, a horror movie for Traveling Picture Show, and a TV series for showrunner Jonathan Glassner (Outer Limits, Stargate SG-1.) Joshua is a professor of screenwriting at the University of California Riverside, a story architect for the video game industry, and the proud father of twins.

“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen” — Michael Jordan JT McCormick has overcome a lot of obstacles. I mean, a LOT of obstacles. I feel very fortunate to have had the opportunity to interview and develop a relationship with him. His mother was an orphan. His father was a pimp and drug dealer. Upon being deserted, JT was forced to live with his father's prostitutes for years, taking care of his younger step-siblings. He was only 8 years old. He received his High School diploma from the janitor during summer school. He was homeless, living on a park bench. Talk about adversity, huh? JT then got into sales. He was the lowest paid employee and, within 2 years, became the President of the company. He is now the President & CEO of Book in a Box. He is business partners with Tucker Max. How did he do it? How did the overcome the odds and become an inspiration to everyone he comes from? “Life truly is mindset and choices” — JT McCormick JT's mindset has helped him to improve his craft and become a tremendous leader. This mindset helped him become resilient through tough times. It's also what helps him to display servant leadership. An example of this is shown when he talks about his co-workers. They aren't his employees. “We're a tribe”, he says. “People work with me, not for me”. This type of leadership mentally, highlighted in Simon Sinek's book Leaders Eat Last, has driven his tribe forward. Though his mindset is strong, it's his actions that truly separate JT. He didn't become this way through luck; it was through old-fashioned hard work. For example, his day starts at 3:45 am. He spends this early morning time reading and studying past entrepreneurs and businesses to learn from their paths. This is all in an effort to maximize his time before his family, and the rest of the world wakes up. JT says that life is full of choices. “You have to sacrifice. Don't run from it — everyone has to sacrifice something”. Take a page from JT's book. How can you develop a tougher mindset? And how can you take more action? These are two things that are in your control and can make the ultimate difference in your success. “I don't wish. I don't hope. I don't get lucky. I believe in myself and execute”.
