Episode Guest: Bruce Feiler, one of America's top voices on contemporary life, best-selling author of 15 books, speaker, and TV personalityEpisode Description: Bruce Feiler has long explored the stories that give our lives meaning. Galvanized by a personal crisis, he spent the last few years crisscrossing the country, collecting hundreds of life stories of Americans in all 50 states who'd been through major life changes-from, losing jobs to losing loved ones; changing careers to changing relationships; getting sober to getting healthy to simply looking for a fresh start. He then spent a year coding these stories, identifying patterns and takeaways that can help all of us survive and thrive in times of change.Feiler discovered a world in which transitions are becoming more plentiful and the skills to manage them more urgent for all of us to master. The idea that we'll have one job, one relationship, and one source of happiness is hopelessly outdated. We all feel unnerved by this upheaval. We're concerned that our lives are not what we expected, that we've veered off course, living life out of order. But we're not alone.Life Is in the Transitions introduces the fresh, illuminating vision of the nonlinear life in which each of us faces dozens of disruptors. One in ten of those becomes what Feiler calls a lifequake, a massive change that leads to a life transition. The average length of these transitions is five years. The upshot: We all spend half our lives in this unsettled state. You or someone you know is going through one now.The most exciting thing Feiler identified is a powerful new toolkit for navigating these pivotal times. Drawing on his extraordinary trove of insights, he lays out specific strategies each of us can use to reimagine and rebuild our lives, often stronger than before. In this episode, you'll discover how to:Start with your transition superpowerIdentify your emotionsShed somethingTry something creativeRewrite your life storyAbout Bruce Feiler:Bruce Feiler is one of America's most thoughtful voices on contemporary life. He is the author of seven New York Times bestsellers; the presenter of two prime-time series on PBS; and the inspiration for the drama, Council of Dads on NBC. His work combines timeless wisdom with timely knowledge turned into practical, positive messages that allow people to live with more meaning, passion, and joy. His new book, Life is in the Transitions Mastering Change at Any Age, describes his journey across America, collecting hundreds of life stories, and exploring how we can navigate the growing number of life transitions with greater purpose and skill. Bruce has written for numerous publications, including The New Yorker, The New York Times Magazine, and Gourmet, where he won three James Beard Awards. He is a frequent commentator on radio and television. A former circus clown, he has been the subject of a Jay Leno joke and a JEOPARDY! question and his face appear on a postage stamp in the Grenadines.A native of Savannah, Georgia, Bruce lives in Brooklyn with his wife, Linda Rottenberg, and their identical twin daughters.Get in touch with Bruce Feiler:Bruce's website: https://www.brucefeiler.com/ Buy Bruce's book: https://revolutionizeretirement.com/feiler Grab our free guide, 10 Key Issues to Consider as You Explore Your Retirement Transition, at https://10keyretirementissues.com/

Come hang out in the No Exit room with all your buddies. Doppelganger Picard is a little more impressive as a gregarious host in Ten Forward and a lot more randy with Dr. Crusher, while the real Jean-Luc Picard (please stand up!) is eating prison Apgar jelly. It's all a grand scheme to test the boundaries of authority by Jay Leno aliens, but at least Greg gets to mention Star Trek Acid Party three times in a single episode. Oh, and Irish from Red Dead Redemption (aka voice actor Kaius Harrison) gets beamed in fashionably late to make the panel laugh while dishing out some vocal impressions ranging from Colombo to our very own Kate Jeager. THE HALL podcast series for “Netflix is a Joke” delves deep into the lives and careers of the greats of stand-Up Comedy. Hosted by Cristela Alonzo, the first episode of THE HALL explores the brilliance of George Carlin. We tell the story of the evolution of Carlin's stand-up, ultimately becoming the long-haired, bearded, comedic sage we all love. Carlin's comedy wasn't off-the-cuff or improvised, he carefully considered every word and was deliberate about the rhythm and flow of his routines. Not only did Carlin's work inspire a Supreme Court case, his path in comedy became something every modern comedian of today aspires to. To honor George Carlin we speak to Colin Quinn, Jay Leno, Laraine Newman, Kevin Smith, and his daughter Kelly Carlin and more.

Hello everyone and welcome to 67, featuring a hell of a Honda maestro by the name of Tyson Hugie. This was such a relatable episode for me, having a family background with several Honda models. Chances are, if you're apart of a brown family that was on the up n' up during the 90s then you too, can relate. The Phoenix based Tyson is somewhat of a declared Honda historian and currently sits on a lovley rotating collection of Honda/Acura models that evade us in regularity these days. When's the last time you saw a showroom fresh DA Integra or an SLX? I bet the most of you haven't even seen an SLX, or a first generation Legend out and about. I bet if you have, we're talking decades since they were in freshly manufacturered condition. The Honda addiction has turned into a bit of a dream side quest, and this is the part I want you all to truly feel the inspiration from just as I did. He took his enthusiasm so far to the point that Honda themselves gave the guy recognition and let him spec a car for a long term test, and then mailed him the title after the testing period was complete. How cool is that? What about riding in the backseat of your own car while Jay Leno drives you down a canyon road in it? Never know where your passion will take you. Be it in the gym, on the road, or smoking up and relaxing- enjoy this very special episode. Intro & exit track provided by the talented @ArifOmariandFranklinproduction squad. Thanks gents
Comedian Adam Ray was a high school athlete, a musical theater performer, and an acting student with his eyes on Hollywood. But one thing he never could shake was the feeling of being an overweight kid when he was younger. Adam and Marc talk about how doing comedy helps keep feelings of insecurity at bay and why the two of them struggled to get over their fears of being on stage. Adam also talks about playing Jay Leno on Pam and Tommy, Vince McMahon on Young Rock, and Wolverine at the Universal Studios theme park. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
