Head Coach of the Australian National U20 Team, Dave Ruck is our guest. Coach Ruck has lead the team to back to back Silver medals at the IIHF D3 World Championships and is also the former Head Coach of the AIHL's Perth Thunder. The Coaches Club is a weekly interview by NSA Hockey with coaches, players and people in the game.
Today we talk with another Francophone Canadian, Ben Breault who was recently hired as head coach of the Perth Thunder. Ben played major junior in the QMJHL with and against players such as Claude Giroux, Jonathan Toews, Alexander Radulov, and Sidney Crosby. He played one season of junior under Hall Of Famer Patrick Roy after which he was drafted by the Buffalo Sabres, played several years in Europe, and part of one season in the infamous LNAH.

Sydney Bears played Perth Thunder at Macquarie Ice Rink in a hard fought game of Australian ice hockey. Down by a big margin with a period to play, the Bears fought hard to take the Thunder to overtime then win with under a minute of overtime remaining. Commentators: Eric Brook & Logan Swinkels

Saturday July 1 was a special event for the Sydney Ice Dogs as they played Perth Thunder on Canada Day at Macquarie Ice Rink. It was the day of the Matt Clark Shield charity event for leukemia research. After a couple of late powerplay goals by Perth Thunder in quick succession, Ice Dogs win 5-3.
