Nick Kypreos, Justin Bourne and Sam McKee begin the hour with a new segment, 'NHL Would You Rather...', asking if they would start a new franchise with Macklin Celebrini or Matthew Schaefer, the Montreal Canadiens' or San Jose Sharks' future, Jon Cooper or Paul Maurice to be your first coach, Sidney Crosby's or Alexander Ovechkin's career, having which pair of brothers on your roster between the Tkachuks and Hughes, and to expand the Stanley Cup Playoffs like the NBA's Play-In format or shrink the amount of teams. Then, NHL Network analyst Mike Rupp stops by (22:35) to discuss the New Jersey Devils' drop off from their early-season expectations, why their game against the Pittsburgh Penguins could tilt their future this season, if the fanbase is turning on Luke Hughes, and why the situation with the New York Rangers isn't as dire compared to the Devils. The views and opinions expressed in this podcast are those of the hosts and guests and do not necessarily reflect the position of Rogers Sports & Media or any affiliates.

How can we step back and appreciate the connection, respect and history between those two icons of the Penguins franchise? What did we learn from the Penguins' losing streak, which mercifully ended on Sunday night against the Montreal Canadiens? Holy crap, it's Christmas week! We've got lots of holiday stuff to get to over the next three days. Today we discussed a Christmas tradition in Spain that you may want to add to your family's. And which Christmas song "sings to the spirit" of your Zodiac sign? In the news this morning, an update on the deadly shooting on Bondi Beach, more info about the Brown University shooter, actor James Ransone died over the weekend, and nobody won the Powerball jackpot on Saturday…so tonight's jackpot is worth $1.6 billion! In sports, the Packers lost to the Bears on Saturday, a look at the scores from the rest of Week 16 in the NFL…and a look at who's in the playoffs as of today. The Bucks slide continued last night with a loss to the T-Wolves, the Badger men's basketball team lost on Friday night to Villanova, and a check on today's Bowl Games. Elsewhere in sports, Jake Paul got his ass beat over the weekend, Sidney Crosby keeps moving up the all-time list of NHL scorers, and a new billboard in Cincy wants to fire EVERYONE! We let you know what's on TV today/tonight and we also had a great story about a lost dog that was reunited with his loving family just in time for Christmas! What's something you tried once and immediately knew it wasn't for you? Hilarious "hot-mic" moment for the Philadelphia Flyers radio broadcast team that resulted in a suspension. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaWoman who is accused of killing not one…but TWO of her ex-husbands, an engineer who is suing his former employer after being fired for taking really long bathroom breaks, a wild video of a shoplifter at a Walmart who pulled a gun and attempted to shoot a police officer, and two teens are indicted on the murder of a 14 year-old girl.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Welcome to Daily Faceoff Live with Tyler Yaremchuk and Colby Cohen! We start the show with another Monday edition of Man of the Weekend. It was a milestone evening last night in Pittsburgh as Sidney Crosby got two points against the Montréal Canadiens to surpass Penguins legend Mario Lemieux as the franchise's leading scorer. Edmonton Oilers' captain Connor McDavid is on an insane heater right now with 26 points through 11 games this month with 12 goals and three 4-point games.Next, we look at the streaking Sabres and the falling Leafs in this edition of Hot & Cold. The Buffalo Sabres find themselves on a six-game win streak sitting just 3 points out of a playoff spot. It's trouble in Leaf Land though as the Toronto Maple Leafs have dropped three straight and sit six points out of a playoff spot and second last in the Eastern Conference. Is it a change in script for the border rivals this season? The trade market is heating up and there were some prominent names on the move this weekend with two trades going down. Phillip Danault returns to Montréal as the Canadiens acquire the veteran center to shore up their center depth sending a second-round pick to Los Angeles. Mason Marchment was also on the move, as the forward was rumoured to many teams, including a reunion in Dallas, before being sent to Columbus, with a second and fourth round pick heading to Seattle.Brock Seguin from the Daily Faceoff Fantasy joins the show for his segment A Guy, A Stat & A Trend where he breaks down the upcoming week in the fantasy hockey realm.SHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!
Darren Dreger was the first guest on today's show. He started with his thoughts on the Oilers goaltending situation, specifically touching on Connor Ingram's Oilers debut. He then touched on the Oilers win and what this team could look like when fully healthy. He then gave some love for one of the best to ever do it, Sidney Crosby and finished with his thoughts on the future of the Sabres. It was then time for the Play Alberta Early Bird Bet of the day. After the break we quickly touched on MMMMMM That's Good presented by The Italian Centre Shop. What's good today is we're finally getting more sunlight as yesterday was the Winter Solstice, Connor Ingram's good story and McDavid leading the league in NHL scoring again. Mike Tanier capped off hour two with his thoughts on all the major headlines from NFL Week 16 as well as previewing tonight's Monday nighter.
We are back with another edition of The Nielson Show! Dusty and Lt. Eric are away for the week, so Matt Iwanyk and Dave Jamieson are filling in! We started off with some Oilers goal songs as they came away with a victory from last night. Then we quickly touched on everyone's weekend. Morning Announcements got us to the middle of the hour. We talked some NFL week 16 and Sidney Crosby making history. After the break, we got right into The Prolux Lighting Morning After Show! In this segment, we took a deep dive into last night's game. What was the key moment, what the super stat and who were the fourth and 38th stars… This brought us to our good, our bad and ugly from the weekend.
