TAKE STEPS + VIRTUAL is a nationwide walk taking place TODAY to raise funds and awareness for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation. Kristen speaks with Lauren Hoban, Manager for National Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement for the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation about this virtual walk today, on the first day of summer - Saturday, June 20th. The virtual nature of the event this year allows for unlimited options for ways to participate. Run, walk, climb stairs, take your dog out, hopscotch, whatever! Register at Cctakesteps.org/virtual for more information. The mission of the Crohn’s and Colitis foundation is to cure Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases. While there are treatments, unfortunately there is no cure. Lauren gives some basic information about Crohn’s Disease and Ulcerative Colitis including statistics, symptoms, and how we can help to fight these diseases. Join Lauren and millions of others coming together (virtually) TODAY, Saturday, June 20th, starting at 12pm on the Take Steps Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/crohnscolitistakesteps. This nationwide virtual walk (the biggest ever for the organization) happens today, and there will also be 39 other local walks taking place from July through November across the country. The local Philadelphia walk will be on September 26th at the Wells Fargo Center (if it’s safe to gather in person) so mark your calendars and register at cctakesteps.org/philadelphia2020! Preston Elliot from our sister station WMMR will be the virtual emcee to get the walk started today. Join him at 11:15, ahead of the national event at https://www.facebook.com/ccfapadelaware.
On January 7th the world lost a hero. When they found out a few days later, Preston Elliot and Pierre Robert knew that they needed to celebrate his life with the rest of the world so they did what they do best: open up the microphones and talk about him. This podcast is the entire Sunday afternoon (1/12/2020) broadcast from WMMR including a very cool call from drummer and friend of Neil's Mike Portnoy.
This week the boys catch up the world of the NFL in week 6. Preston Elliot joins the program. Is Danny Dimes underrated? Kyle Allen overrated? Is Lamar Jackson on-par? These are the questions the boys dive deep into this week. As well, the boys give their starting 5 for this upcoming NBA Season. Also, can anyone stop the Nationals? All of these questions are answered on this week's episode.
Ahead of the Big Beautiful Book of Bass book signing in Philly Friday night, the guys talk everything bass, the Hall of Famer's first time being an interviewer, “The Yips”, the bass that got away, and the one he has yet to find & Preston Elliot, the biggest RUSH fan we know even dropped a little knowledge that blew his hero’s mind!

Preston Elliot of the popular Preston and Steve Show on 93.3 WMMR had the time of his life drumming in a successful cover band as he finished high school. Decades later, he discovered just how much of a price he paid for having so much fun. Preston tells Matt what led him to become a musician, relives his days playing glam rock tunes in beer-soaked bars and explains how he lives his life with hearing loss and deals with the ringing sensation known as tinnitus. Plus, Matt and Preston engage in a drum off (and Preston wears his ear plugs, of course).
