Duration: ~11 min. Terrible loss this week. Manny Tripodis owner of the Rogue Bar passed away 9/06/22. He was a tireless supporter of the Phoenix local music scene and gave dozens of bands their first time on a stage at Rogue.  Beef Vegan, former host of TMI on KWSS, asked if he could take over the morning show for a few minutes and pay tribute to Manny.    Music from Mother Mother and Banana Gun.   Sending much love to my amazing local music community.

Lance and Christopher start the conversation with Christopher's last show with Sun System at Rogue Bar. They talk about Lance's move to a new apartment and their new "studio." Lance attributes his real-life hashtagging to Iliza Schlesinger. He also talks about his recent adventures seeing the comedian, Bryan Callen, at Stand Up Live in Phoenix, as well as the Waking Up podcast with Sam Harris at Comerica Theatre. Christopher talks about his recent experience seeing Adam Carolla and Dennis Prager live at Grand Canyon University and getting out of your echo chamber. They take a turn into the #metoo movement because of both live shows (Sam Harris and Adam Carolla) discussing the issue. Christopher asks the question if you can separate an artist's personal life from their art, which leads to a startling discovery of a certain album Christopher owns. The boys then discuss their recent outing to a Sumac concert and leaving before Converge. The end the conversation by talking about upcoming shows they are attending, which include Closure In Moscow, Soft Kill, Phantogram and Tycho, Between the Buried and Me and The Dear Hunter, as well as one of their greatest influences, Godspeed You! Black Emperor. They round out episode two with recommending the bands Ghastly City Sleep and Bear Success. Mill's End carries on a tradition of American Alt-Country that blends modern influences with folk/Americana songwriting. The band's sound is firmly rooted in a style reflective of Drive By Truckers, Whiskeytown, the Jayhawks and the Old 97's, but with a healthy dose of classic and progressive rock. In 2008, jam sessions between singer/guitarist Jeff Bump and drummer Mark Bainbridge inspired the two to form Mill's End, and they soon added bassist Geoff Butzine and lead guitarist/vocalist Keith Perillo to round out the foursome. A substantial repertoire of original songs quickly followed, as did a desire to share with the public a down-to-earth approach to experiencing live music. Mill's End currently plays at popular Tempe and Phoenix-area clubs including the Yucca Tap Room, The Sail Inn and The Rogue Bar to an ever-expanding fan base. The band has also made headlines by playing for thousands at a Phoenix Coyotes playoff game and recording tunes for a campaign by Valley Metro to promote the use of public transportation in the Phoenix metropolitan area. Mill's End has recently released their first full-length album and continue to expand opportunities to share their intimate brand of live shows.
