Welcome to the Podcast of Southwest Bible Fellowship in Tempe, Arizona. WHO ARE WE? • We are a group of people who are committed to living the grace life as set forth by the apostle of the Gentiles, the Apostle Paul. • We come together to study our Bibles, and yes, we believe we have God's perfect Word in the King James Bible. It and it alone is our final authority in all matters of faith and practice! • We do not come together and study our Bibles for the intent of being smarter than others. We understand that knowledge for the sake of knowledge is purely vain and serves no Godly purpose. • We do come together and study our Bibles for the intent of knowing our Lord Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection. (Philippians 3:10) • We do come together and study our Bibles to understand that we have been crucified with Christ; nevertheless we live; yet not us, but Christ liveth in us: and the life which we now live in the flesh, we live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved us and gave himself for us. (Galatians 2:20) • We do come together and study our Bibles to understand that because Jesus Christ shed His blood for us and we should not live for ourselves but for Him, who died for us and rose again. (2 Cor. 5:15) • We do not claim to have attained to these lofty goals, but we press toward the mark of the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Send a textWhat would possess someone to basically spend every waking moment for four weeks running back and forth along the same stretch of pavement only ¼ of a mile long… 5400 times. Is this some sort of Buddhist monk ritual? Or cruel punishment doled out by sadistic POW camp guards during WWII? Someone who should have been locked up a long time ago in a mental institution? Or someone competing for a year's worth of Mexican food and some running shoes? Yep, it's the latter and it's the Burrito League. We chatted earlier with Diarra Cropper running loops around a parking lot with the burrito league in Manitou Springs, Colo., but now we are going to step it up a notch with someone who ran on the original course in Tempe, Ariz. and finished second, my good friend TJ Harms-Synkiew. I met TJ as a 21-year-old at the American Heroes Run a couple of years ago, and he has gone on to stack numerous impressive race finishes, including placing in the top four spots in five races in 2025 ranging from 50K to 200 miles to 24-hour backyard ultras. TJ has dedicated himself so much to ultramarathoning that he has led a nomadic life, living out of his car, spending a winter, yes, a winter in North Dakota doing nothing but earning money, building trails on Mt. Shavano, a Colorado 14er, and volunteering at races for the free entries, all while adding to his personal running community. We'll find out here what motivated him to go down to Tempe and average 300 miles a week on the same short stretch of street, over and over and over again.  He earned six months of burritos and two pairs of shoes – all while wearing out two pairs of shoes and beating up his body like none other. Is there something more here in what seems like insanity? Listen up here to TJ to find out. You might not want to sign up to do what he did, but you'll definitely admire his heart and spirit.TJ Harms-SynkiewInstagram @harmssynkiewBill Stahlsilly_billy@msn.comFacebook Bill StahlInstagram and Threads @stahlor and @we_are_superman_podcastYouTube We Are Superman PodcastSubscribe to the We Are Superman Newsletter!https://mailchi.mp/dab62cfc01f8/newsletter-signupSubscribe to our Substack for my archive of articles of coaching tips developed from my more than three decades of experience, wild and funny stories from my long coaching career, the wit and wisdom of David, and highlights of some of the best WASP episodes from the past that I feel are worthwhile giving another listen.Search either We Are Superman Podcast or @billstahl8Register for the American Heroes Run: https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=133138Ride to End ALZ Coloradowww.alz.org/rideco

The tight end position is alive and well within the Arizona State offense. It was largely MIA in the several years prior to Kenny Dillingham's arrival, but the position has now had a player with at least 30 catches in each of Kenny's three seasons in Tempe. And beyond the pass catching, the offense often features two, three, or more tight-end formations. Even though All-Big-12 honoree Chamon Metayer is off to the NFL, the position is primed to remain a strength. A big reason is rising sophomore A.J. Ia. A four-star signee out of California, the 6-foot-6, 260-pounder brings rare skills and a lauded work ethic to tight end coach Jason Mohns' room. With a year of experience under his belt, he could be a breakout star in 2026. On this episode, we discuss his football journey, the origin of his work ethic, the 2026 tight ends, the impact of the Poly Pipeline, his growing group of bowlers on the team, and more.

In this episode of the progesterone series, Dr. Brendan McCarthy — Chief Medical Officer of Protea Medical Center in Tempe, Arizona — explores the often misunderstood relationship between progesterone, estrogen, and breast health. For decades, women have been taught to fear their breasts and fear hormones. While awareness matters, fear is disempowering — and it has left many women confused about what's actually happening in their bodies. In this episode, we discuss: Why breast tissue is dynamic, not static How estrogen stimulates growth and progesterone restores balance The role of progesterone in breast tissue maturation and architecture Why dense or fibrocystic breasts often reflect unopposed estrogen How restoring ovulation and progesterone can reduce breast pain and density in some women The difference between natural progesterone vs synthetic progestins Where the fear around progesterone and breast cancer really came from Progesterone is not something to fear — it is a hormone of organization, balance, and maturation. Understanding how it works allows women to approach breast health with clarity instead of anxiety.

Simon Mayo's Books Of The Year

International bestselling crime writer, Kathy Reichs, joins Simon and Matt for a chat about her latest Temperance Brennan novel. They discuss taxidermy (Simon makes makes his feelings known!), forensic pathology, autopsies, animals, the origins of evil and what Kathy has learnt after writing and publishing so many books. Here's a little more info on Kathy's latest novel, 'Evil Bones': Small animals have been turning up throughout Charlotte, North Carolina, mutilated and displayed in the same bizarre manner. Now it seems the perp is upping the ante. When Temperance Brennan visits the latest crime scene, she finds that the victim is a dog. Somebody's pet.Vowing to find whoever is responsible, Tempe is disturbed to learn from a forensic psychologist that the escalating pattern of aggression suggests even more macabre discoveries to come. And then it happens. A woman is found disfigured and posed in a manner that mimics the earlier killings. As Tempe follows the horrifying clues to a shocking conclusion, she finds herself forced to confront an increasingly terrifying question.

After a couple of rebuilding seasons, Arizona State softball got back to the postseason last year and heads into 2026 with eyes on making a deep run. One of the keys to that turnaround has been the play of Tanya Windle. A Peoria native, she dreamed of playing for the Sun Devils since she was young. However, life threw a curve, and she ended up elsewhere to begin her college career. But a dynamic freshman season, coupled with a new staff in Tempe, helped her realize her dream. Now, she's among the nation's elite outfielders. On this episode, we discuss her softball journey, her approach at the plate, why ASU means so much, and a fateful countdown on a whiteboard, and more.

2026 will be a new era for Sun Devil quarterbacks, and all eyes will be on the position in spring and fall camps to see who will take the reins. Among the hopefuls is redshirt freshman Cam Dyer, who is the only returner in the group. His high school career saw him put up video game numbers, a four-star recruiting rating, and two Gatorade Player of the Year awards in his home state of New Mexico. He committed to ASU prior to his senior year, interestingly as a wide receiver, not a quarterback. However, a torn ACL near the end of his prep days had him begin his time in Tempe rehabbing. Making the switch back to quarterback, he put in the work, recovered, and ended the year as the Sun Devils' top backup. He'll now get a chance to make his mark on the offense this offseason. On this episode, we discuss the lessons and growth through his rehab, his football journey, the developing rapport of the quarterback room, and much more.
