“People will say nasty things about you in their lyrics. You will then be tempted to respond. That's how the violence starts” – Molefi “Mantsoaki” Tjemolane – Lesotho musician Famo music is a genre whose origins can be traced back to the 1920s, among Lesotho's migrant labourers. Over time, it became commercial and formed a big part of national culture, enabling artists to make a living and win awards. But the music is now associated with gangs primarily linked to illegal gold mining in neighbouring South Africa and Lesotho itself. The main factions are known as Terene, draped in yellow traditional blankets over their shoulders, while Seakhi prefer blue and black blankets. Now, the government of Prime Minister Sam Matekane has banned some of the groups accused of fueling the violence. This has angered some musicians. Presenter: Alan Kasujja Guests: Lesotho's Minister of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs and Police Lebona Lephema as well as Famo musician Molefi “Mantsoaki” Tjemolane

Season 6 - Episode 5Namaste नमस्ते Dear visitor, to Erskin Court on this beautiful spring day. But don't let the sunshine fool you, because we've got a show that'll chill you to the bone.Linda, AKA 'our own resident road rager', has witnessed the balance of the universe in action on the M1 motorway. It may not be paranormal, but it's enough to make your blood run cold. And speaking of the supernatural, Amanda Abington calls in from a Westend play to share her haunting encounter with an old lady and a ghost girl named Amy.But that's not all. We've got a Facebook marketplace purchase that'll make your spine tingle - a packet of haunted Cheezy Doritos from 1984. You can see the actual packet on my Patreon page, along with other creepy purchases that are sure to make your skin crawl. And speaking of things that go bump in the night, former porn star Louise Hodges shares her encounter with a ghostly man who walked into her bedroom looking for her attention. It's enough to make you sleep with one eye open. ;)But the pièce de résistance? Linda and I read a spine-tingling tale from 1921 about disembodied hairy hands on a steering wheel of a moving car. It's a story that originated from Dartmoor in the UK, and it's enough to make even the bravest souls shiver in fear. And if that's not enough for you, investigative reporter and broadcaster Jacques Peretti shares his own experience with a similar incident that took control of his car when passing the entrance to a cemetery in Bangor, Northern Ireland. It's proof positive that the paranormal is all around us.Don't miss out on the full version of our spooky show on my Patreon page, where you can get access to exclusive videos, animations, downloads, cartoons, and archive recordings. (6:09) before wondering about the College Football Playoff rankings and talking about Texas Tech (9:02), and then we talk about the NFL, from the Cowboys-Chiefs upcoming game Sunday, especially from the Chiefs perspective as they come off a good win (14:49), other NFL teams including the whole NFC West and the Seahawks (23:42) that goes off into a tangent about NFL head coaches and Jared Goff (31:52). The break further goes into Goff as a joke (37:32) before Nathan tells the story, using a NY Post article, about Plaxico Burress shooting himself in the thigh (40:48). Finally, we finish with talk about the NBA, from the MVP race, specifically Steph Curry, Nikola Jokic, and their respective teams as the Warriors are feeling it (43:47), the Dallas Mavericks and Kristaps Porzingis becoming what the Mavs have wanted (51:28), how the rule change has affected NBA play (56:29), and we close talking about the Lakers and how they still can’t figure it out (1:01:20). We’re back after a hiatus with a lot of serious talk about the Kyrie Irving situation and how vaccines have been politicized (start), the Jon Gruden scandal and how he, despite his obvious transgressions, might be a scapegoat for the Washington Football Team and many others around the league (20:36), wonder why the Dolphins reportedly want to trade for Deshaun Watson (33:11), and make NFL Game Picks and our first NBA Game Picks of Season 2 (out by Fri. morning, 47:16). We talk about Jose seeing Nathan this weekend, the Football Team-Giants game, Dallas’ split of carries between Ezekiel Elliott and Tony Pollard, and later devolve into wondering what the Falcons are doing (18:32) and offering each other fantasy football trades…yes you read that right (22:31). We then go to Throw a Flag, including why Cris is…wdek (25:53). After way too many technical difficulties, we are finally baaaaack! We will not be posting full episodes on YouTube until further notice; all episodes will still be on lee3pods.com, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. The YouTube channel “Flags and Fouls Highlights” will still be live. We start with what we recorded last week: a look at the NFL season before it started, specifically the Cowboys, Texans and Saints, and the Russell Westbrook trade and whether LeBron has another superteam or not (34:37). Then, we react to the first week of NFL action and it devolves into who the best quarterbacks are (46:33), debut our “Throw a Flag” segment (58:27), and make our NFL Game Picks for Week 2 (1:03:35). Took some personal time today. So rather than fight with the news of the world, I wanted this show to be you and I exploring who and what we are together. I told a bit about my personal world BUT mostly, I want to invite you to spend more time in OUR "Gives 0" world.I want to thank ALL OF YOU for helping this platform grow more and more every day. Sometimes it's almost spooky to see how many plays/downloads it has gotten when our numbers are reported to me. I can only thank you guys for keeping it alive. I literally had NO FORMULA for doing this other than stream of conscious (ok, fine, it's bitching) on the microphone and letting it play to the world. Bumps, bruises and all. Well, something struck a chord because here you are. And I love you guys. Also a reminder that POCASTS are important because they are hard to shut down. At some point, the way things are going, the FCC will try and kill Conservative talk radio. We MUST stick together and keep these things going!! Keep your part of America STRONG - our time is coming. Be ready. Be brave. Say your prayers.Donate to the show if you will. (BUY ME A COFFEE)SHARE US AND TELL OTHERS.
