The second edition of Paul's book Pete Duel: A Biography includes new information from not only Duel's family and friends, but the many fans who have kept the memory of Duel alive, more than four decades after his death.

And we're back! Apologies for the long wait between episodes. I have been trying to wrangle cats together so we can continue the podcast.Fortunately, life got in the way. Not in a bad way of course. I recently got married. AJ and his wife had their second baby. Life is good.You know what else is good? Star Wars Visions. Especially this season. For those unfamiliar, Disney took the license and went to the far east. Though I am unfamiliar with the studios they chose, the results speak for themselves.What were produced were completely original story lines and characters with some of the most unique animation styles to come from the island. Yes, volume one is clearly anime from Japan. Volume two includes the likes of the creators of Wallace and Gromit. Volume three marks the return of some of the first studios that were approached. By far, my favorite episode of volume one was the first, "The Duel." The animation pays homage to Akira Kurosawa with the Japanese aesthetic and being animated mostly black and white. Not to mention the rogue sith's lightsaber drawn from it's scabbard much the way a samurai would. Back then, my criticism for all episodes was that each had some sort of lightsaber gimmick. While it was cool to see Darth Maul ignite his double-bladed lightsaber in 1999 and later Kylo Ren with his cross-guard lightsaber, there has been an explosion of goofy and impractical designs. One only has to watch a few episodes of the much hated Acolyte to see what I am talking about. We hope you liked this episode of visions as much as we did. My brother and I disagreed about one of the characters. C'est à un duel au grand jour que se livrent France Télévision et Radio France et les médias du milliardaire Vincent Bolloré, la chaîne CNews, Europe 1 et le Journal du Dimanche, qui s'accusent mutuellement de partialité. Ce matin, la Tribune Dimanche braque ses projecteurs sur l'audiovisuel public. « En pleine zone de turbulences, nous dit-on, les PDG de France Télévision et Radio France seront auditionnées à partir de mercredi par une commission d'enquête parlementaire, voulue par le groupe UDR, allié du Rassemblement National ». Cette commission est chargée de « faire toute la lumière sur d'éventuels dysfonctionnements au sein du service public ».   La Tribune Dimanche publie un sondage dont elle conclut « qu'il révèle un attachement réel – transversal de gauche comme de droite – aux chaînes et stations publiques ». Mais, souligne le journal, « cet attachement n'efface pas les enjeux : un budget de près de 4 milliards d'euros, avec un déficit croissant pointé par la Cour des comptes, et des attentes fortes en matière de pluralisme, d'efficacité et de rigueur dans l'information ». Interrogé, le directeur de l'information de France Télévision Alexandre Kara, assure « qu'aucun programme n'est utilisé à des fins partisanes ». Précisions apportées après la diffusion d'une enquête de France 2, sur CNews. Enquête qui a fait couler beaucoup d'encre… « On traite tous les sujets, affirme Alexandre Kara, mais l'écho n'est pas le même ». Immigration et insécurité Le Nouvel Obs se penche lui sur le cas de CNews et de Pascal Praud, son présentateur vedette. « Pascal Praud, profession propagandiste », titre l'hebdomadaire qui détaille : « Omniprésent sur CNews, Europe 1 et le Journal du Dimanche, l'ancien journaliste sportif polarise le débat sur l'immigration et l'insécurité, jusqu'à devenir un porte-parole de l'extrême droite. Comment en est-il arrivé là ? Par conviction ou pour plaire à son patron Vincent Bolloré ? » interroge le Nouvel Obs, qui en veut pour preuve « l'accueil de VIP », réservé au président du Rassemblement National Jordan Bardella, à l'occasion de la sortie de son livre « Ce que veulent les Français ». « Vingt-six minutes, sur CNews, durant lesquelles Jordan Bardella n'est presque jamais interrompu, tandis que la couverture de son livre occupe la moitié de l'écran ». « Une interview promotionnelle en bonne et due forme », accuse le Nouvel Obs, qui ajoute : « L'accueil réservé à Bardella sert la stratégie arrêtée au sommet du groupe par Bolloré lui-même. À dix-huit mois de la présidentielle, le propriétaire de CNews, Europe 1, Le JDD ou encore du groupe Hachette s'affaire à réaliser l'union des droites, en réalité la fusion entre la droite et l'extrême droite. Seule capable à ses yeux de réagir, pendant qu'il est encore temps, au péril civilisationnel que feraient courir à la France, l'immigration, l'islam et la gauche ». Hommage douloureux M, le supplément du Monde, a assisté aux funérailles de l'un des derniers otages du Hamas. « Be'eri a fini d'enterrer ses morts », nous dit M. « Situé à 5 kilomètres de Gaza, le village a payé le plus lourd tribut humain des attaques du 7 octobre 2023, avec 102 victimes. Le 30 novembre, les funérailles de Dror Or, ont réuni plusieurs milliers de personnes ».  « Dror Or, poursuit le magazine, faisait partie des trois derniers otages défunts, encore retenus dans la bande de Gaza ». Cet homme de 48 ans avait été tué le 7 octobre 2023, et son corps avait « été emmené dans l'enclave palestinienne ». M a interrogé Sharon Shmuel, amie d'enfance du défunt. Elle explique : « Dror est le dernier de sa communauté à revenir sur sa terre, quelque chose se clôture enfin aujourd'hui ». Sont venus ce jour-là, « des proches, des familles de victimes du massacre, d'anciens otages libérés (…) des bénévoles d'associations, des anonymes, qui affluent et forment peu à peu un cercle de silence autour de la tombe de l'otage défunt », raconte M. « Sa mère et ses trois enfants désormais orphelins, son frère et ses plus proches amis clament "l'incompréhension et la douleur de la perte"(…) le drame des uns réveille celui des autres, et ravive la conscience qu'une tragédie collective s'est produite ici, il y a deux ans et deux mois ».  Une drogue bon marché Le Nouvel Obs s'intéresse aux ravages du captagon, en Syrie. « Le trafic de cette drogue de la famille des amphétamines déployé par l'ancien régime de Damas a plongé de nombreux syriens dans la dépendance », explique l'hebdomadaire, qui a visité « à Afrin, près de la frontière turque, un centre de réhabilitation, appelé le Hope Center ». Là-bas, Le Nouvel Obs a rencontré Ali. Le jeune homme de 21 ans, consomme du captagon, et explique sa situation : « J'ai détruit ma vie et fait souffrir mes proches. Je dois 7 000 dollars à ma famille. Les dealers venaient chez moi réclamer leur dû : soit je payais, soit ils me tuaient ». Ali est loin d'être le seul, qui aujourd'hui encore consomme cette drogue « bon marché ». Le Nouvel Obs cite « les anciens soldats, les étudiants, les combattants de tous bords (...) qui faute d'échappatoire, prennent des pilules pour refouler leur trauma ».

Quidditch symbolizes the good of the castle and the things that Harry is fighting for. It is his safe ground at Hogwarts and the thing he can always rely on. When his Firebolt spins out of the sidecar during his escape from 4 Privet Drive in the Deathly Hallows, it marks the end of his childhood and beginning of his true fight.·      17:58 There's a troll in the dungeons! With this sequence we see the bond of the trio. Harry and Ron save Hermione from the troll, and Hermione takes the blame from the professors. We also see the lengths Voldemort's followers are willing to go to defend him which sets up the following he will later gain.·      25:23 The Midnight Duel and the first quidditch match. These two things are related because they set up Snape. We think he's no good from the beginning, and seeing Fluffy for the first time and then seeing Snape curse Harry's broom is pretty damning evidence.·      28:30 Christmas. This will finish out the episode. Harry and Ron have their first Christmas together and Harry gets the invisibility cloak which he will use for many years to come.
