Dennis Prager Master Class Series. Episode 1: Consequences of Secularism Episode 1: Consequences of Secularism, Part I. Master's Program. PragerU G.K. Chesterton said, "When people stop believing in god, they don't believe in nothing. They believe in anything.” Dennis Prager breaks down (debunks) so-called conventional wisdom that secularism is better than a religious-based society. Pointing to historical and contemporary real-world examples, Prager explores just how detrimental the absence of God in western society has directly contributed to the existential death of Western society. He discusses how adopting a certain attitude towards life can lead to positive change, even if resolutions are broken. Dennis talks to listeners about the importance of taking small steps towards self-improvement, citing his own experiences and those of his guests, including Kathy, who successfully lost weight by making small changes to her diet and exercise routine. He also explores the idea that having a resolution is better than having no resolution at all.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

We look into a video series featuring conservative commentator Dennis Prager titled "The Consequences of Secularism." We take a critical look at Prager's claims, which often rely on misleading language and emotional rhetoric, aiming to push his agenda against secularism - which he doesn't define. Throughout the episode, we dissect the implications of his discourse and what they reveal about the broader cultural conversation around religion and secularism.Prager's perspective paints a dire picture of a society that he believes is collapsing due to a decline in religious adherence. He presents himself as a defender of Judeo-Christian values, arguing that the absence of belief leads to societal chaos. I examine his repetitive assertions and the logical inconsistencies they often entail, beginning with his opening gambit, which claims that if society becomes too secular, it will inevitably collapse. He doesn't see the irony of making that same claim since the 1970sWe need to call out the selection of studies he presents, especially when they align with his ideological perspective while he dismisses findings that contradict his agenda. For instance, while Prager cites research linking religious involvement with lower suicide rates, we point out studies that highlight the mental health benefits of secular support systems particularly for trans kids that Prager and his PragerU regularly dismiss. We also explore Prager's tendency to conflate individual beliefs with broader social policies. His claims about movements like "defund the police" are particularly scrutinized, revealing his tendency to misrepresent nuanced discussions within progressive circles. Defunding police, often tied to calls for social justice reform, is framed by Prager as a sign of moral decay, while I argue that this viewpoint ignores the legitimate motivations behind advocacy for community-centered safety approaches.Full show notes and links usedSend us a textSupport the showSubscribe to our free newsletterCheck out our MerchFollow us on BlueskyFind us on Twitter(for now) Find us on InstagramFind us on Counter SocialFind us on Mastadon
We examine the claims made in a two part video by conservative political commentator Dennis Prager. The video titled 'The Consequences of Secularism' includes Prager's vague and misleading claims about secularism which he fails to define. He includes not only philosophical claims but also political claims that don't hold up to closer scrutiny in order to bolster his religious beliefs.Problems start when he limits his claims only to western Judeo-Christian values. We look at his claims against Diversity being an asset, that human worthiness requires a god, secularism leads to a loss of meaning, cherry picking science to claiming that religion is the bee's knees, and finally the old trope that western Judeo-Christian believers abolished slavery.01:00 Introduction05:41 Diversity is not a strength11:26 Human worth requires the divine17:34 Secularism leads to the death of meaning21:37 The science proof for religious belief38:15 Religious involvement in slaveryFull show notes & LinksSubscribe to our free newsletterCheck out our merch
On Today's Show: In this episode of Timeless Wisdom with Dennis Prager, Dennis explores the importance of prayer in Judaism. He delves into the four types of prayer, highlighting the problematic nature of petitionary prayer, where individuals pray for specific outcomes. Dennis emphasizes that Jewish prayer is meant to affect the person making the prayer, not God. He discusses the significance of praise, affirming the Jewish purpose, and gratitude, which he believes is the single greatest part of Jewish prayer. Dennis also touches on the concept of Yom Kippur and the importance of living a life that prepares one for the "bitterness of the decree."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

What happens when a brand‑new believer faces mockery at home, financial strain, and a nation at war—and chooses to study harder, love deeper, and answer with reasons instead of rage? Raviv Dror shares his newfound faith and path through doubt, dialogue, and devotion, exploring how apologetics turned shaky mornings into a steady, lived faith. In Part 2, Raviv explains how apologetics helped him both strengthen his new faith and share it with others. In case you didn't see our major announcement this week… The OCTOBER 7 play is having its most high profile performance to date! You won't believe where it will be showing next. Hint: It's right in the belly of the beast and we want to see you there. All will be revealed soon. And just when we thought the trans madness was dying in the UK, we discover that the Dr Frankensteins/Mengeles of the world are alive and well in that country's National Health Service. They want to recruit 250 humans for gender experiments.Oh but don't worry, these patients/victims will be at least at the ripe old age of 10, and totally understand what they're in for. Of course they can give informed consent. Not. Watch the Scoop this week to hear about the latest attack on children whose bodies are being destroyed on the altar of progress. And our home country of Ireland is constantly proving that it is the most anti-Semitic country in Europe. Now they've somehow sunk to a new low by deciding to rename a park, which was dedicated to a local Jewish hero. Dublin City Council's scheme was thwarted by a technicality, for now… Watch this week's episode to get all of the infuriating details. You can also learn more through Phelim's coverage on Substack(linked below). And in Crazy California, we reveal why the homeless problem will never be solved. It's because Democrats are making just too much money maintaining the problem - as the rest of us suffer from their corruption. And is Ann McElhinney safe to drive on the nation's roads? According to the DMV - she is a danger. If it's true, then how did hundreds of thousands of Indian immigrants get truck driving licenses when they obviously were not qualified? Watch this week to hear our answer. And we have a new “no recipe recipe” for salmon this week. Watch this week to learn how to make one of Ann's favorite dishes. You will also need Ann's recipe for Kale Salad(linked below) for a side and we let you in on our secret for the perfect French Fries. For those who missed last week's episode, we looked back at the first Thanksgiving episode of the ANN AND PHELIM SCOOP when we interviewed our dear friend, Dennis Prager. Dennis, who has suffered a catastrophic injury, is the embodiment of the spirit of Thanksgiving and our interview with him and hearing his message promoting happiness and gratitude still warms the heart. Dennis has had a tough time since then, but he says he is still thankful to be alive. As you know we read all of your comments and loved all of the encouragement that you sent his way. We will be passing on your messages to Dennis.Watch the episode where we will read some of those comments on the air. What happens when a life built on certainty starts to crack? Hear the One80 of Raviv Dror, who grew up in a hardline communist kibbutz where the collective came first, religion, even true Judaism, was scorned, and affection felt scarce. His story carries us from growing up on a faithless kibbutz to a cross-continent love that opens a door he isn't ready to walk through—until everything else falls apart. In part 1, hear how God broke Raviv free from communist ideology and slowly, faith starts to move in.Helpful Links:Raviv's book Three in One: Being Israeli, Jewish & Believer IN CHRISTRaviv's book The Third WayRaviv's Faithful Tales Children's books, seriesApologetics resources recommended by Raviv:Dr. Frank Turek, CrossExamined.org Prof John Lennox https://www.johnlennox.org/Dr. William Lane Craig reasonablefaith.org Dennis Prager, https://www.prageru.com/Prayercast IsraelOther resources:Zionism: A Concise History, Alex RyvchinLet us know what you thought of the show!Follow One80 on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or our website.Never miss a One80. Happy Thanksgiving everyone,This week we look back on an episode we did with someone who embodies the spirit of Thanksgiving, our good friend Dennis Prager. Recorded before he suffered a devastating injury Denis said: “Thanksfulness…it's sort of a lifelong obsession of mine, gratitude is the mother of goodness and happiness, that's how powerful it is. You can't be happy if you're not grateful and you can't be good if you're not grateful, that's a big deal, that's why I love Thanksgiving”As you probably know a year ago Dennis suffered a devastating spinal cord injury, and is now a quadriplegic. But is he depressed and morose? No! He's grateful to be alive. He said so in a recent interview. He is grateful for his family, his mind and his life. Dennis is an amazing human being. We met Dennis shortly after coming to Los Angeles and we've been good friends ever since. Please enjoy our interview with him.Our conversation with Dennis is entertaining, you will laugh out loud and you will learn so much about life, especially about gratitude. Dennis believes you can't be happy without being grateful. He should know since he literally wrote the book on it, called Happiness is a Serious Problem, which we highly recommend reading (you can buy it at the link below). And please let us know in the comments what you're grateful for this Thanksgiving, especially if we're on your list!We also want you to know that we have a huge OCTOBER 7 play announcement coming up! It's big, big news about the play going to be in a prominent, internationally significant venue. This is important because it seems that it has never been more important to tell the truth about Israel and Oct 7.Speaking of our special projects.
