Whiskey & Cigarettes Interview W/Ryan Broshear by DJ Nik
In today’s Country music, there is not an overwhelming amount of artists and songwriters raring to tell you how Country they are. And none exemplify the merge of the genuine Country music genre with a hip fresh sound quite like Ryan Broshear. Born and raised on an Oxford, Ohio farm, he is as charismatic and gifted as it gets. Ryan is carving out a successful career by writing and singing traditional leaning country music with a brilliant modern edgy feel. Clearly, Country music fans feel the same way. Ryan continues to collect a dedicated fan-base all around the nation simply by putting on incredible, high energy, talented performances. Audiences sing along to fan favorites such as the country lifestyle anthem “Let Your Redneck Out,” and the nostalgic “Countrything” declaring his dream of performing at the Grand Ole Opry. This passion and love of Ryan’s music also led to more attention. The reputable Billboard Magazine named him a “Top 10 Artist To Watch” while simultaneously catching the eyes and interest of some of Country music industry’s top professionals. After scoring some hits like “I Don’t Mind” and “Make Each Moment Last,” now, for the second time, he’s teamed up with a long- time friend, co-writer and producer Daniel Agee, best known for his guitar talent with Country artist Joe Nichols. His brand new EP release Paint It Red arrives as melodically strong and assertive as the name and gives Ryan all the necessary potential for Country music stardom.
Join us this week as we welcome Country music singer songwriter, Alyssa Trahan. Hailing from East Rochester, NY., Alyssa has written over 100 songs, plus those done with co-writers, and continues to add to her long list of originals. Alyssa also performs on a regular basis, well over 100 shows every year, and has opened for acts such as Suzie Vinnick, Chris Pureka, Wisewater, The Dady Brothers, Ryan Broshear, Sawyer Brown and more. In June of 2013, Alyssa released her debut album, "Hi". Soon after the release of "Hi", Alyssa began work on her EP "Wild & Crazy", which was released in January 2015. That same year, Alyssa released a new single titled "I Like It" and began work on her third studio release, an EP titled "Daisies". "Daisies" was released in November of 2015 and has become her most successful release to date. Every song Alyssa has released was written on her own without the help of co-writers, an accomplishment praised by many. Alyssa has also released multiple professional music videos, including for her songs "Cowboy". "Over You", "I Like It", and "I Love Your Truck". Currently, Alyssa lives in Nashville, TN., but travels to Upstate NY often to perform, as she is one of the area's most in demand performers. With her talent and drive, she is one to watch for sure. We will talk to Alyssa about her upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at her music, feature her latest songs, and ask her to share her message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Alyssa Trahan at http://www.alyssatrahan.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with Alyssa during the show (718) 766-4193. Join us this week as we welcome country music singer songwriter, Ryan Broshear. Ryan is the living breathing embodiment of Country Music. From growing up on a farm to paying his dues in smoky nightclubs, he experienced love and loss while chasing his dream of music. His entire life has been set to the soundtrack of a classic country song. After scoring some hits with his self-titled album from 2012 (like “I Don’t Mind” and “Make Each Moment Last”), Ryan Broshear returns with his new just released six track EP "Paint It Red" (Painted Horse Records). Each of the songs on his new EP, including the mid tempo melodic “Spin Me” and radio-ready anthem “Friday Night In A Small Town”, is written or co-written by Broshear except for “Boots,” a song producer Daniel Agee co-wrote with Justin Weaver. While solidly a neb-traditionalist type of artist, "Paint It Red" showcases how such an artist can release music which is both traditionally-minded and contemporary at the same time. The new EP album from Ryan is available now at all fine digital outlets. We will talk to Ryan about his upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at his music, feature his latest songs, and ask him to share his message for the troops. Please be sure to visit Ryan Broshear at http://www.ryanbroshear.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with Ryan during the show (718) 766-4193. From growing up on a farm to paying his dues in smoky nightclubs, he experienced love and loss while chasing his dream of music. His entire life has been set to the soundtrack of a classic country song. When it was time to record his own debut self-titled project in Nashville, the singer/songwriter drew from those life experiences to create his own classic country songs. Songs like “Make Each Moment Last”, “Countrything”, “Damn Good Place to Start“, “I Don’t Mind”, and “Where Have All the Good Girls Gone” is the kind of good old country music that can’t be faked or manufactured. They exemplify exactly why country music is, and will always be, the sound of America. As his music spreads across the nation’s airwaves, it is a sure bet that lovers of real country music will add each of these songs to the soundtracks of their own lives. It’s clear and simple; Ryan Broshear is doing country proud.
