I recently had a session with a sales team where the members were frustrated because potential customers would go silent or sound "confused" the moment they received a price quote. If this is happening to you, it is because you dont have a process for sorting seekers from buyers before you send that proposal. It is perfectly normal to run into people who are merely curious, confused, or weighing their options. However, when you give a quote to someone who isn't ready, they disappear because they've gotten the information they need and have no reason to stay engaged. To protect your time and peace of mind, you must master Qualification and Discovery.Think about my recent visit to the GAC headquarters in Abuja. I was looking at an 80 million naira GS8, looking "sweet and fresh," but I was just inquiring because I was passing by. Meanwhile, another gentleman there who didn't look nearly as "put together" was actually ready to buy a brand new car to replace his wifes totaled Mercedes.Because the salesperson only answered our questions instead of asking her own, she had no idea who the real buyer was.Your goal is to figure out who is worthy of being pursued. Before you invest hours into a quote, you need to use open-ended questions to find out:Affordability: Can they actually budget for this?Authority: Are they the actual decision-maker?Urgency: Do they have a timeline to take action now?If they aren't "red hot," don't ignore them, but don't waste your best energy there either put them into a relationship-nurturing sequence instead.Focus your primary effort on the people ready to take action today to increase your odds of closing the deal.If you want to stop the cycle of frustration and start dealing with serious folk, I can help. Những thương hiệu phổ biến nhất trên thị trường xe điện Campuchia hiện nay là các hãng xe tên tuổi như BYD, GAC, Toyota...
Are you struggling to grow your business or hitting a ceiling in your career? The truth is, many Nigerian business owners and salespeople are failing because they are making too many assumptions about buyer intent. We often assume we know who the customer is, what they want, and whether they are ready to buy, which leads to a "contracted" sales process where we cut the conversation short. If your philosophy is simply "Madam, you buy, or you no buy?" you are going to struggle. In a recent episode, I shared a conversation I had with a fellow named Hezekiah, who sells for a distributor of Nike International in Nigeria. Despite working for a premium brand, Hezekiah was facing a common limit: his lead generation was capped because it was controlled by the brand and his boss, not him. When you can't increase the number of people you talk to, your only lever for growth is improving your conversions. Here is how you can stop being an "order taker" and start closing more deals:1. Kill the AssumptionsJust because someone enters a high-end store or clicks on a premium website doesn't mean they are ready to drop 500k on a pair of shoes. I've done it myself—walking into a GAC headquarters looking sharp but with no intention of buying an 80-million-naira car that day. Never assume someone is ready to buy just because they look the part. If you do, you fall into "order taker" mode, which puts you in a subservient, "boy boy" relationship with the customer.2. Personalize the InteractionOne of the "cardinal sins" I see is keeping sales too formal. Hezekiah used to start his chats with, "Hello there, this is Nike contact support." I told him straight: It is easy to ghost a business, but much harder to ghost a human being. Instead of being a faceless entity, say, "Hello, this is Hezekiah with Nike contact support." Injecting personality makes it a one-on-one relationship, and that human connection is what prevents people from simply clicking away.3. Master Qualification and DiscoveryYou need a process for asking questions, even if it's just a simple checklist on a sheet of paper. Back when I was in the wedding industry, I wouldn't even take a call without my list of questions. You need to find out: * Who is this person? * What do they actually need? * What is their timeline? If you're a wedding photographer and you don't ask if the person has actually been proposed to yet, you might waste hours sending invoices to someone who is just "doing research."4. Move from "Order Taker" to "Consultant"Your superpower is being a specialist. Whether you sell Nike shoes or shawarma, you should see yourself as a consultant. Instead of waiting for them to tell you what they want, explore use-case scenarios. If someone wants "loungewear," ask if it's for hanging out with friends or for a casual Friday at the office.Once you understand their needs, give them options. Don't just offer one item where the only answers are "yes," "no," or "ghost." Offer a few choices—like a Steph Curry vs. a LeBron James edition—to keep the conversation alive and moving toward a choice.Don't let your sales process contract. By asking the right questions and treating yourself as a specialist rather than a "boy boy," you unlock the ability to earn higher commissions and grow your business. If you want to stop guessing and start growing, I'm here to help. If you're interested in a 15-minute sales or business audit to look at your specific circumstances, send me a WhatsApp message at 08064662140 Let's get to the root of what's holding you back and "unlock your destiny" in this market.

www.marktreichel.comhttps://www.linkedin.com/in/mark-treichel/Episode SummaryMark Treichel sits down with Jason Stverak, Chief Advocacy Officer at the Defense Credit Union Council (DCUC), for a wide-ranging conversation on the policy threats credit unions are currently facing. From the government shutdown's impact on Coast Guard members to the proposed 10% interest rate cap, interchange regulation spreading into the states, and the banking lobby's opposition to credit union bank acquisitions — Stverak covers the full landscape of what's moving in Washington and why credit union leaders need to be paying attention. What We CoverThe partial government shutdown and its direct impact on Coast Guard members working without pay — and how credit unions are stepping in with forbearances and emergency lending. The ICBA's renewed push against credit union bank acquisitions, and why Stverak argues the real driver is dues protection rather than principled policy. The proposed 10% interest rate cap: why credit unions and banks have issued joint opposition, and what a cap at that level means for members with lower credit scores. How interchange regulation is moving from Congress into state legislatures — and why Illinois is just the beginning.DCUC's growth (30% membership increase in the past year), its due structure, and what it means for non-defense credit unions to engage with a defense-focused trade organization. The concept of operating "over the event horizon" — anticipating threats before they become crises.Upcoming DCUC events including Defense Matters at GAC, CU Unplugged in San Francisco, regional sub-council meetings, the annual meeting in Miami, and an overseas meeting in Bangkok.Connect with Jason Stverak and DCUCWebsite: dcuc.orgEmail: jstverak@dcuc.org

This episode of the Peachtree Corners Life Podcast features Dr. Paul Cable, High School Principal at Greater Atlanta Christian School, and Stephen Carter, leader of the school's Business Innovation Program. The conversation explores how education is evolving beyond traditional classroom models to better prepare students for an unpredictable future.Key Themes from the Conversation 1. Education as a CallingBoth guests describe education as more than a profession—it's a form of ministry and service focused on shaping students as people, not simply transferring knowledge.2. Personalized Learning at GACRather than a rigid one-size-fits-all model, GAC emphasizes personalized experiences that help students pursue their individual passions and purpose. 3. Real-World Learning Through the Business Innovation ProgramA major example is the student-run Spartan Café, which operates as a real-world business laboratory where students handle:Customer serviceInventory and operationsProfit and loss statementsTeam collaboration and leadershipThis hands-on approach helps students understand why they are learning skills instead of questioning the relevance of classroom lessons. 4. Building “Agency” in StudentsThe program focuses on helping students develop agency, meaning they can:Set meaningful goalsGather resources to achieve themAsk for help when neededThis mindset prepares them for careers and challenges that don't yet exist.5. Responsible Use of AI in EducationThe guests discuss how schools must avoid two extremes: banning AI entirely or allowing it to replace real learning.Instead, GAC teaches students to use AI as a tool while maintaining human connection, creativity, and ethical responsibility.6. Confidence Through ExperienceDr. Cable shares a story of a shy student who gained confidence working at the Spartan Café—illustrating how hands-on programs can transform students by helping them discover their abilities.

It was good to be back in D.C., reconnect with colleagues, clients, and former NCUA staff — and to see how the tone of the conference felt this year.Three sessions stood out:1️⃣ Scott Simpson – Stewardship & AdvocacyScott Simpson's first GAC as head of America's Credit Unions set a different tone.He emphasized:Credit unions as a social movementThe importance of advocacyThe reality that tax status and field of membership are not automaticUnity between large and small institutionsIn a chaotic political and regulatory environment, the reminder that credit unions exist because Congress allows them to exist matters.2️⃣ Brené Brown – Strengthening the FoundationBrené Brown's keynote focused on “strong ground.”Her theme: leaders often compensate around weaknesses instead of strengthening the foundation.Key ideas:Vulnerability = uncertainty, risk, and exposureNo risk, no courageArmor (resistance, avoidance, overconfidence) blocks real leadershipIn times of uncertainty, strengthen the coreIn an environment shaped by technology shifts, mergers, geopolitical tension, and regulatory changes, that message resonated.3️⃣ Chairman Hauptman – Supervision & StablecoinsChairman Hauptman's fireside chat focused on rethinking supervision and discussing stablecoins.SupervisionWith NCUA staffing down significantly (I reference roughly 27%), he raised the question:Is the juice worth the squeeze?Topics discussed:Consistency and transparency in examsFewer document requestsRethinking supervisory touchpointsReorganization within NCUAExtending exam cycles for well-run institutionsI also discuss how regulatory inconsistency — when priorities swing dramatically — can create real operational risk for credit unions.Sometimes NCUA can be a credit union's biggest risk — not due to bad intent, but because uncertainty affects strategic decisions.ConsolidationConsolidation is happening. That's math. But it's not inevitable individually.Every mature industry consolidates over time. The key is leadership, strategy, and execution.StablecoinsChairman Hauptman framed stablecoins as infrastructure and global dollar dominance. The key question I raise (credit to Kiah Haslett's framing):What problem does stablecoin actually solve that existing rails don't?We already have:FedwireACHRTPFedNowIs the value international? Domestic? Structural? Or hype?Time will tell.Final ThoughtAcross all three speakers, one theme connected the day:Are we strengthening the foundation — or compensating around it?It was a fun and informative day at GAC, and I'll continue sharing observations as the week unfolds. If you were there and saw something differently, let me know.
In this episode, Patty Corkery is joined by America's Credit Unions President & CEO Scott Simpson for a conversation on leadership, a preview of the 2026 GAC and the responsibility credit unions have to show up and tell their story in Washington.

The mood across Mexico remains one of shock and fear after waves of weekend violence hit Puerto Vallarta and other regions. One of the country's most notorious drug kingpins was killed in a military raid, immediately triggering widespread retaliation from the Jalisco New Generation cartel. More than 70 people are dead — most were soldiers or gang members. Also: The violence has trapped many Canadians in Puerto Vallarta and its surrounding areas. Puerto Vallarta is under a shelter-in-place order, and a number of airlines have cancelled flights to and from the region. Some Canadians are frustrated with Ottawa's response to the crisis. Global Affairs is telling people to register with GAC. Officials also say at least two Canadians reported non life-threatening injuries. And: Lost memory. How consumers could take the hit from big tech's global need for microchips to power AI data farms.Plus: Tariff backlash, new protests in Iran, the push to ‘prescribe' blueberries, and more.

Saturday night and I felt the itch to record! Welcome to episode 2 of 2026 on Courtside Financial.Today we're diving deep into the battery swapping industry entering what's being called its "golden age" – this is massive infrastructure buildout happening in real-time with NIO, CATL, and others positioning for the future of EV energy replenishment.THE BATTERY SWAPPING GOLDEN AGE:The Chinese pure electric vehicle market is expected to grow 30-40% year-over-year in 2025, with sales projected to hit 19 million units by 2030. Battery swapping is no longer experimental – it's going mainstream.CATL is running two parallel strategies: "Chocolate Battery Swapping" for passenger cars and "Qiji Battery Swapping" for heavy trucks. In 2025, they partnered with NIO to build the world's largest battery swap network, signed deals with GAC, FAW, Changan, BAIC, and Chery to launch 10 new models, and partnered with JD.com to drop a battery-swapping EV at just 49,900 yuan (under $7,000 USD). Their 2026 target: over 2,500 Chocolate stations in 120 cities. By 2030, their heavy truck network will cover 180,000 kilometers.NIO completed battery swap coverage in over 2,300 county-level administrative regions by year-end 2025. As of December 30th, they operated 3,665 battery swap stations – the world's largest high-speed network. Fourth-generation stations rolled out rapidly, and fifth-generation stations launch at scale in Q1 2026. They're transforming from "exclusive to NIO" to "universal across the industry."Aulton New Energy filed to go public in Hong Kong in December 2025, aiming to become the first battery-swapping company listed there. They're the largest independent third-party provider with 521 connected stations and over 160,000 batteries under management.According to Frost & Sullivan, battery-swapping vehicle sales will grow from 269,000 units in 2024 to 1.14 million by 2030 (27.1% CAGR). Swap stations will jump from 4,400 to 24,000 (32.5% CAGR).But challenges remain: standard fragmentation across manufacturers, massive construction and operating costs, and the path to profitability still unclear. Aulton's still losing money. NIO's invested $2.5 billion USD in infrastructure with another $700 million planned over the next decade.Heavy-duty trucks are the breakthrough application – fixed routes, large batteries, continuous operation needs. CATL's dominating this space with aggressive deployment in Shanxi and Shaanxi provinces.THE AIRLINE CLASS WARS:The airline industry is experiencing K-shaped divergence. Delta and United captured nearly ALL U.S. airline profits through the first nine months of 2025. Premium cabins are thriving while budget travel craters.Airlines are expanding lounges, adding first-class seats, launching new international routes. Even Southwest – the egalitarian carrier – ended 50 years of policy by charging for checked bags and introducing assigned seating January 27th.Meanwhile, Spirit Airlines is in its SECOND bankruptcy in less than a year, fighting for survival after a blocked JetBlue acquisition and surging costs. This is a microcosm of the broader economy: wealthier consumers increasing spending share, any economic weakening hitting price-sensitive consumers hardest.THE STRUGGLE STORIES:Virgin Galactic: Down 98% since its 2020 SPAC debut, now at $3.29. They're resuming commercial flights Q4 2026 with their new Delta-class spaceplane after a two-year hiatus. Tickets: $600,000. About 700 people on the waiting list. The technology is cool, but the business model remains unproven.Saks Fifth Avenue: Named a new CEO Friday as they prepare for bankruptcy. They missed a $100+ million debt payment tied to their $2.65 billion Neiman Marcus acquisition. Now sitting on $4.7 billion in debt as luxury discretionary spending weakens.Sprinkles Cupcakes: Closed ALL locations nationwide on New Year's Eve after 20 years. The cupcake craze that peaked in the early 2010s is over.

What a fun conversation we had with Robby Johnson on this episode! We were so happy to catch up with him since his last visit. Robby told us about his latest release, his countrified version of “You Shook Me All Night Long,” and his album OUT NOW titled “Hot Summer Nights.” He also gave us some insider information on the Nashville Numbering System, which we findfascinating! Nashville-based singer-songwriter Robby Johnson has amassed over 10 million views on YouTube and is approaching 8 million streams. His debut single broke into the TOP 20 on country radio, with its music video winning CMT Pure's 12 Pack Countdown multiple times. Known for a live show combining Garth Brooks's energy with Keith Urban's swagger, Johnson's music has been featured on Sirius XM's The Highway, Crook & Chase Countdown, andCountry Top 40 with Fitz. He has also appeared on major media platforms such as FOX News Channel's Huckabee, USA Today, Rolling Stone Country, and The Tennessean. Robby's journey from manufacturing plant worker to full-fledged artist began after a demo session, gifted one Christmas, revealed his musical talent. He moved to Nashville in 2012, connecting with industry veterans Jimmy Nichols and Frank Myers, who guided his career. His single "South Of Me" reached the Top 20 on the Music Row Breakout Chart and led to a performance on The LATE SHOW with David Letterman. This breakthrough was followed by his debut album, Don't Look Back, produced by James Stroud and featuring contributions from top Nashville songwriters and Vince Gill. The album's success included a feature as a PEOPLE Pick in PEOPLE Magazine and over 2 million views for the video "Together," aired on CMT and GAC. Top Stories for October 18th Publish Date: October 18th From the BG AD Group Studio Welcome to the Gwinnett Daily Post Podcast. Today is Saturday, October 18th and Happy Birthday to Chuck Berry I’m Peyton Spurlock and here are your top stories presented by Gwinnett KIA Mall of Georgia. Sugar Rush takes over Sugar Hill this weekend Glow 5K set for Nov. 9 at Lanier Islands Resort Duluth wins national award for downtown selfie stations All of this and more is coming up on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast, and if you are looking for community news, we encourage you to listen daily and subscribe! Break 1: KIA MOG STORY 1: Sugar Rush takes over Sugar Hill this weekend Sugar Hill’s biggest bash is back this weekend, and it’s got a little something for everyone—art, music, family chaos (the good kind), and that small-town community vibe you can’t fake. Saturday? Start with the 5K Color Run at 8 a.m. (registration’s at 7, if you’re ambitious). Then, from 10 to 6, downtown transforms into an art-lover’s dream: 100+ vendors, a pumpkin patch, live art demos, and even a biergarten for the grown-ups. Sunday keeps the fun rolling at noon with gold mining, aerial silks, animal shows, and—yes—a mascot dance-off. Because why not? STORY 2: Glow 5K set for Nov. 9 at Lanier Islands Resort Lanier Islands’ Magical Night of Lights is kicking off the holiday season with a festive twist—the Dashing Through the Glow 5K on Sunday, Nov. 9. Picture this: running (or walking, no judgment) through a wonderland of Christmas lights at dusk. Toy soldiers, candy canes, even pickleball-playing elves—it’s all there. The race starts at 5:45 p.m. and is capped at 1,500 participants, so don’t wait. Registration includes a cozy crewneck (or hoodie, if you upgrade), a finisher medal, and Santa bobblehead trophies for top runners. Proceeds? They go to the Georgia Mountain Food Bank. Holiday vibes for a good cause. STORY 3: Duluth wins national award for downtown selfie stations Duluth just snagged some national bragging rights, winning a Silver Circle Award for Graphic Design at the 2025 Savvy Awards. The ceremony? Held Sept. 4 at Planet Hollywood in Vegas—because where else would you celebrate creativity? The city’s Downtown Selfie Stations project stole the spotlight. These colorful, interactive signs scattered around downtown Duluth aren’t just for decoration—they’re an invitation. Snap a pic, share it online, and show off the city’s charm. Judges called it “fun, intuitive, and memorable.” Mayor Greg Whitlock summed it up: “This award reflects our commitment to connecting with the community in fresh, creative ways.” We have opportunities for sponsors to get great engagement on these shows. Call 770.874.3200 for more info. We’ll be right back Break 2: Ingles Markets STORY 4: A legacy of healing — Documentary tells ReCAST Lawrenceville’s journey through residents’ stories Four years ago, Lawrenceville landed a $5 million federal grant to launch ReCAST, a program aimed at building resilience and supporting mental health in the community. Since then? It’s been a lifeline for so many. To celebrate its impact, ReCAST just released a 17-minute documentary featuring three residents—Josiah Hardy, Success Bonds, and Nadia Hill—whose lives were changed by the program. Jobs, housing, counseling—it’s all there. Program manager Marcus Thorne says the work isn’t done. With the grant set to expire next year, the focus is on sustainability. STORY 5: Delta CEO: Employees who 'glorified' murder 'lost the right to serve our customers' Delta CEO Ed Bastian took the stage at the Gas South District in Duluth on Wednesday to talk leadership, but the conversation veered into controversy—specifically, the firing of a Delta flight attendant who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s murder on social media. The employee’s Facebook post, which read “good riddance,” sparked outrage. Two weeks later, they were fired. Bastian didn’t mince words: “When someone glorifies violence like that, they’ve lost the privilege of being a Delta employee. We serve everyone, no matter their views.” He also revealed Delta’s next big move: direct flights to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, through a new partnership with Riyadh Air. “It’s coming soon,” he teased. STORY 6: Lawrenceville to host Atlanta Christkindl Market The Atlanta Christkindl Market is packing up its twinkling lights and bratwurst and heading to Lawrenceville this December. After years in Buckhead, it’s found a new home at the Lawrenceville Lawn—bigger, better, and ready for more holiday magic. Think mulled wine, handmade ornaments, and that cozy, old-world German charm, all with a dash of Atlanta’s energy. Since 2016, this market has been a holiday favorite, drawing crowds from all over Georgia (and beyond). Opening Nov. 28 and running through Christmas Eve, it’s free to attend. So grab your scarf, your appetite, and maybe a little extra room in your heart for holiday cheer. STORY 7: Greater Atlanta Christian Grad Malcolm Brogdon Retires After 9 NBA Seasons Malcolm Brogdon, a Greater Atlanta Christian alum, shocked the basketball world Wednesday, announcing his retirement from the NBA after nine seasons. The timing? Just a month after signing a one-year, $3.3 million deal with the Knicks. “Today, I officially begin my transition out of basketball,” Brogdon shared with ESPN. “This game has demanded so much—mind, body, spirit—but it’s given me even more. I’m grateful to step away on my own terms, surrounded by family and friends.” The Knicks wished him well on social media: “Congrats on your retirement, Malcolm! Best of luck in your next chapter.” Brogdon’s career was nothing short of remarkable. A second-round pick in 2016, he defied expectations, earning Rookie of the Year with Milwaukee and Sixth Man of the Year with Boston. Injuries slowed him in recent years, but his impact never wavered. Before the NBA, he was a star at Virginia—ACC Player of the Year, two-time Defensive Player of the Year, and a first-team All-American. And let’s not forget his high school days: back-to-back state titles at GAC, Mr. Georgia Basketball, and two-time Daily Post Player of the Year. A legacy? Absolutely. SK ON OPENS SOLID-STATE BATTERY PILOT PLANT SK On has opened a Daejeon, South Korea pilot facility focused on sulphide- and polymer-oxide solid-state battery development, aiming for commercialization of sulphide-based cells in 2029—one year ahead of schedule. Backed by Solid Power's tech, the facility will produce prototype batteries featuring advanced lithium-metal and silicon anodes with targets up to 1,000 Wh/l energy density. RIVIAN BREAKS GROUND ON GEORGIA PLANT Rivian has started building a $5 billion EV plant in Georgia, aiming for 200,000 vehicles yearly by 2028, unaffected by the discontinuation of federal EV tax credits. The facility will support scale and lower costs for new models like the R2, following Tesla's profitability playbook as Rivian moves into higher-volume, lower-priced vehicles. TESLA ADDS 7‑YEAR WARRANTY TO SOME PARTS Tesla's 2026 model year vehicles in the US and Canada now carry a “High-Priced Propulsion-Related Part Warranty,” giving seven years' coverage for key electrical components like the power conversion system and high-voltage parts. This new warranty is separate from existing battery and drive unit terms, aimed at lowering costly repair risk for buyers. NHTSA OPENS PROBE INTO 2021 TESLA MODEL Y DOORS U.S. safety regulators have launched a probe into 174,000 Model Y vehicles from 2021 after reports the electronic door handles could fail, potentially trapping children inside. Preliminary findings suggest the issue is linked to low-voltage battery problems, and several parents broke windows to access their children during incidents. SUZUKI LAUNCHES E VITARA EV IN JAPAN IN JANUARY Suzuki's first battery-electric car, the e Vitara SUV, will go on sale in Japan in January 2026, produced in India for export and offering 267 miles per charge at around $27,000. It represents Suzuki's major push into global EVs with significant investments and ambitions for high-volume exports. ID. TOUAREG COULD BE THE FIRST SSP MODEL Volkswagen may transform its Touareg into the first fully electric SSP platform model, with combustion production ending in 2026 and SSP assembly possibly starting in Bratislava by 2029. The SSP platform promises cost savings and fast charging, with VW's wider rollout across brands and models to follow. VOLKSWAGEN DROPS FLUSH DOOR HANDLES FOR FUNCTION Volkswagen will move away from flush-mounted door handles in favor of traditional grab handles in response to customer frustration, as outlined by the brand's CEO at IAA Mobility. The company's next-gen ID. models will prioritize practicality to appeal to mainstream buyers over early adopters. NISSAN CUTS NEW LEAF OUTPUT OVER BATTERY SHORTAGE Nissan has halved production plans for its new Leaf due to shortfalls in battery supply, with revised output at the Tochigi plant being several thousand lower per month. The cutback delays a key launch for Nissan, which is betting on the new Leaf to reinvigorate its lagging EV business.
