When most people face a stage 4 cancer diagnosis, they might feel like their life is over. But not our guest, Chuck Keels. He took this dire prognosis as an opportunity to change his life, his mindset, and most surprisingly, his faith. In an awe-inspiring twist on a classic heart-rending tale, Chuck recounts his journey of being diagnosed with terminal prostate cancer and how his encounter with Jesus during a hospital visit changed him. Wise Up! Part 3: One S.H.A.R.P. Woman by Louie Marsh, 11-5-2023   Intro. Biblical Wisdom is a moral rather than an intellectual quality. To be "foolish" is to be godless; wisdom is man's approach to life, arising out his life in the covenant bestowed by God... wisdom is the teaching of a personal God who is holy and just and who expects those who know him to exhibit his character in the many practical affairs of life.   Pictures – last one text about wise woman.   Biblical wisdom shown in a little know story about a wise woman in a difficult situation.   S - SEIZE the Initiative   “16Then a wise woman called from the city, “Listen! Listen! Tell Joab, ‘Come here, that I may speak to you.' ”” (2 Samuel 20:16, ESV)   “7a time to tear, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;” (Ecclesiastes 3:7, ESV)   1)    2 extremes to avoid - speaking too soon - brashly shooting your mouth off 2)    being to passive never saying anything!   H - HAVE  a Respectful Attitude   “17And he came near her, and the woman said, “Are you Joab?” He answered, “I am.” Then she said to him, “Listen to the words of your servant.” And he answered, “I am listening.”” (2 Samuel 20:17, ESV)   “17Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.” (1 Peter 2:17, ESV)   1)    There is a time to be blunt, but it's usually NOT when I want too! 2)    The more I want to let someone have it - the less likely it is that that's the wise choice!            A - APPRECIATE  the Consequences   “18Then she said, “They used to say in former times, ‘Let them but ask counsel at Abel,' and so they settled a matter. 19I am one of those who are peaceable and faithful in Israel. You seek to destroy a city that is a mother in Israel. Why will you swallow up the heritage of the Lord?”” (2 Samuel 20:18–19, ESV)   “7Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith.” (Hebrews 13:7, ESV)   “17For it is time for judgment to begin at the household of God; and if it begins with us, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God?” (1 Peter 4:17, ESV)   1) Remember the Law of Unintended Consequences!   R - RECOGNIZE  the Real Issue   “21That is not true. But a man of the hill country of Ephraim, called Sheba the son of Bichri, has lifted up his hand against King David. Give up him alone, and I will withdraw from the city.” And the woman said to Joab, “Behold, his head shall be thrown to you over the wall.”” (2 Samuel 20:21, ESV)   “21And Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, “You lack one thing: go, sell all that you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.” 22Disheartened by the saying, he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.” (Mark 10:21–22, ESV)   P - PRODUCE  what's Needed   “22Then the woman went to all the people in her wisdom. And they cut off the head of Sheba the son of Bichri and threw it out to Joab. So he blew the trumpet, and they dispersed from the city, every man to his home. And Joab returned to Jerusalem to the king.” (2 Samuel 20:22, ESV)   “5Whoever keeps a command will know no evil thing, and the wise heart will know the proper time and the just way. 6For there is a time and a way for everything, although man's trouble lies heavy on him.” (Ecclesiastes 8:5–6, ESV)   S.H.A.R.P. towards PROBLEMS   S.H.A.R.P. towards RELATIONSHIPS   S.H.A.R.P. towards YOUR CHILDREN   I usually don't say much about raising kids - since God in His infinite wisdom has seen fit to make sure I don't pollute the gene pool! But in this case I will. Last 2 weeks we seen the best way to keep kids off drugs is to give them hope and church!   But many Baby Boomer parents report in surveys they feel hopeless about stopping their kids from using drugs! Not True! You can make a difference - if you'll be S.H.A.R.P.!!   S.H.A.R.P. towards GOD   S - God has already taken the initiative - you must now seize the moment and respond! H - Have a respectful attitude - that's repentance for our sins! A - Look at the consequences - both good and bad! R - Recognize the real issue - It's not politics, evolution, or a hundred other things - it's our standing before God and our eternal destiny! P - Produce what's needed - by giving you life to Jesus Christ!!

(Let's Connect on Facebook5 years ago today you introduced yourself to me, my family, and friends.I just wanted to say Thank You for stopping by and impacting my life the way you did!I know you thought you were sneaky creeping into our lives without showing signs of a lump but what you didn't know is that I was (still am) in tune with my body and I knew something was wrong after having 6 days of anxiety and high blood pressure and knowing my hormones were out of whack which is what got me to the doctor in the first place. After a routine women's wellness exam & mammogram, as well as an MRI & biopsy you were discovered!You also didn't know who you were messing with because I don't play games but what I DO do is wake up every day on a mission of Changing The World, One S.M.I.L.E. At A TimeYou allowed me to find my Purpose at the intersection of Passion and Pain, which has allowed me to make an impact on others on so many levels and also help others navigate their journey as well!You introduced me to so many important lessons like:1. Listen to your body2. How to slow down and enjoy the moments in life3. How there is a HUGE gap between the medical and fitness industries4. That other women and families don't need to fight this alone5. How to say NO to people and things6. I have a gift that wasn't being used to its fullest potential7. And SOOO MUCH MORE!So what I've done with those amazing lessons in the last 5 years is:1. Had the Policies & Procedures changed at the hospital that lost my Lymph node which has never given me total clearance that cancer has not spread2. Raised & donated over $15,000 for Making Strides Against Breast Cancer & Bluewater Babes3. I've been an advocate and a voice for others to know it's OK to fire your medical team if they aren't a good fit for you4. I've launched a podcast (Bustin' Out of Breast Cancer) to have a platform to share my story and the stories of so many amazing Thrivers5. Became a Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist to be able to help others navigate their recovery from surgery and treatment6. Met so many amazing women that have been diagnosed and have become friends7. Found so much confidence & clarity in my life8. Took back control of my life9. Incorporated into my Real Estate business plan that every transaction I close, a portion of my commission will go back to a breast cancer organization to help others10. And the list goes on!Because I will find the silver lining in everything!Hitting the 5 year cancer free milestone is a big deal and it seemed like it would be forever until I got here and trust me when I tell you the wind has been taken out of my sails on many occasions. I have even felt like a weeble wobble many times but as we know, weebles wobble, but they don't fall down!Rest assured my comeback is much greater than my setback! Thank you breast cancer, I'll take it from here!

A recent story by VGC previously reported on by Digital Foundry has been confirmed by Microsoft. In short, the Xbox Series S will not be able to play any “enhanced for Series X” games. It will instead run the Xbox One S versions with some slight upgrades. It’s a weird limitation to be sure considering the Xbox Series X will be able to play next-gen titles at 1440p. In September 2016, Sharon Epperson was at the gym when she felt a relentless, migraine-like pain shoot through her head and neck. One S.O.S. call to her husband and several hours in the hospital later, she learned she was one of 30,000 people in the U.S. who suffer a brain aneurysm rupture each year. Two in five die instantly and African Americans are twice as likely as whites to suffer from one.Sharon, who is the senior personal finance correspondent at CNBC, was one of the lucky ones. On today's show, she calls the experience one of the great blessings of her life and shares her story with Mandi, including:Her early days in rehabilitation when she had to relearn everyday tasks.“That road had so much pain on it. There were people in those rooms who I know probably wouldn't make it…I remember thinking I just have to look at the door straight ahead. If I look in these rooms I'm going to fall down.”What it was like to return the air at CNBC after 13 months of rehabilitation.“I am recovered in that I can do that job but I'm doing it differently and better than I've ever done it before.”The financial choices she made that protected her family's finances during her recovery and time off from work.“There couldn't have been a rainier day for my rainy day fund. The fact that I had an emergency fund was key. A new round of video game consoles has began last week with the release of Microsoft’s One S. The slim, white hardware is a minor upgrade to the original Xbox One, and the predecessor to next year’s flashier upgrade, codenamed Project Scorpio. Next month, Sony is expected to announce its own update for the PlayStation 4, codenamed Neo. If it feels a little early in a generation of consoles to be talking about dropping cash on the next great thing, you’re right. But these consoles don’t follow the traditional cycle of new video game hardware, which last around seven years. They’re more iterative. Microsoft’s hardware is built around backwards compatibility with Xbox One, and its expected that PlayStation Neo will play PlayStation 4 games. The new era of game consoles is closer to smartphones: a variety of annually updated hardware with a variety of features that shares same large, ongoing collection of apps. To talk about the ways these new game consoles are similar and different from the hardware of the past, I invited my friend and colleague Megan Farokhamnesh to the show.
