Jason Adams checks in from his studio in San Jose for my first in person interview since the pandemic. Really stoked on this one although my mic had some issues,(but who needs to hear me talk anyways). Listen to Jason talk about growing up in San Jose, meeting Salman Agah and discovering skateboarding, early days of Think and becoming pro, living with Tim Brauch, getting named 'The Kid' by Corey OBrien, his epic route 66 trip, Slappy hour and his art, and so much more. Also, I want to thank Jason for opening up, being honest, and showing vulnerability as we dive into his sobriety and his recent rehab situation. Hopefully his story can help someone out there that is struggling. It's 8.23.2022 — this marks 24 years since Phil Shao passed and this episode is dedicated to him. Spread the love everyone, we ain't here long enough to fuss and fight. Cheers! Episode 041, featuring Salman AgahOn a random Bike Riding quest I find myself in downtown LA and hungry, so of course I headed to Pizzanista. Not expecting Salman to be there, but I got lucky, so said lets chat and catch up and record a Podcast, so we did. Salman as you know is a legendary skateboarding, who I consider to be the driving force behind "Switch Skating", and definitely the first guy I even saw do a whole run backwards. We talk about that, why he started PIZZANISTA, how lucky we are to be skateboarders, and how a cool babysitter helped him satisfy his early skate cravings which linger to this day. The Thrasher Magazine Skater of the Year award began in 1990. First there was Tony Hawk, followed by Danny Way, then John Cardiel, and then my next guest. Salman grew up in Nor-Cal, was sponsored early on by Powell and was a huge part of the early days of REAL skateboards, oh and by the way... HE is the Switch God. He currently owns and operates his own pizza spot in Los Angeles called Pizzanista. I treasure our friendship and can always count on Salman to share knowledge... GO TYSON!
