A reflection on the nature of the joy we experience at Christ's birth.
This Sunday, we consider together Luke 2:22-38 and the presentation of Jesus at the temple.
At Redeemer Presbyterian Church in Charleston, SC, our assistant pastor Rev. Andrew Bekkering preached a sermonette following the Lessons and Carols telling of the Christmas story from our youth and children. He encouraged us to focus our joy, thankfulness, and worship on Jesus.

Today is Palm Sunday. While we are grateful for technology that allows us to meet together "virtually", we don’t have the benefit of each other’s comforting presence. It’s vital we remember what Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem meant, and draw encouragement from it, especially in the uncertain days in which we find ourselves. Fear not! Be of good courage. Turn in full faith to the Prince of Peace for your comfort and assurance. He reigns! This is our 2nd week of streaming because of Corona Virus. The audio is from North Ridge Life's Facebook "Live" broadcast. Lights are everywhere this time of year. They adorn our homes and our hearths, our businesses and our landscaping. But what we really need is an undying light, that would fill our hearts with hope and joy. Discover that true light through Isaiah's prophecy.

On the Fourth Sunday of Advent we continued to look at Isaiah 9:2-7, and the four royal titles ascribed to the anticipated new king - Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. In the incarnation, God has come to us, has become one of us, one with us. God Almighty has appeared to us in something as vulnerable, as fragile and demanding, as a baby. He has come to us as our Prince of Peace.
On this third Sunday of Advent, we look at the situation of the shepherds and the wise men in the story of Christ's birth.

This week in worship we celebrate the second Sunday of Advent, continuing our series looking at the four royal titles that describe and anticipate the new king in Isaiah 9:2-7 - Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. This Sunday we'll focus on the title "Mighty God." How did people understand it then? How did Jesus fit or not fit Israel's expectations of what the Messiah would be like? As we journey toward Christmas and the birth of Jesus, how do these well-known royal titles expand our understanding, and deepen our faith in, Jesus?
In this sermon Pastor Keith explains that Jesus is the light of the world who stepped down into a dark world. And His coming was foretold and fulfilled prophesy.

This week, Pastor Jerry continued his series on the Incarnation of Jesus, focusing on the peace of God. Several verses in both the Old and New Testament refer to the birth of Jesus in a peaceful manner. Even Isaiah referred to Jesus as the Prince of Peace. Pastor Jerry explores this idea in this week's message.

Week one of 2017 Advent season.
There are many things that vie for our attention this time of year. Schedules, trips, presents, family get-togethers. The one thing, though, that we need to focus on is often the one thing that we push to the background. That is precisely why we celebrate the advent throughout December: that we may drink deeply at the mystery and wonder of the Son of God becoming human for our sake. To that end, we start where the NT starts, with the fulfillment of prophecy. But why do we have prophecy? Is our understanding of prophecy just a specific case of confirmation bias? With these questions in mind, let us today look at one of the most important passages surrounding the birth of Christ: Isaiah 7-9.
St Columba @ Botany
The season of advent is a season of reminding us about who Jesus Christ is as Emmanuel (God with Us) and what Jesus Christ has given us from His life. His grace provides a life which is transformed by the hope, peace, joy, and love that come through Him. The OT foretold of these blessings that would come through the coming Messiah. This series of Christmas messages come from the book of Isaiah and are a reminder of what Christ has done for mankind. It is also a reminder that the promised Messiah will one day return again so that we may be prepared as His disciples for the loving King's arrival.

Merry Christmas! So who is this Jesus that we celebrate His birth today and why did he come to us?

Sermons from the pastors at Redwood Christian Fellowship.
Today we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ, to the virgin Mary. The incarnation of the Son in flesh can hardly be overestimated in either its importance or in its miraculous power. We have been preparing for this celebration by observing advent – the preparation for the coming of Christmas. Today we will look at the importance of advent by looking back over the Scriptures that were highlighted over the past four weeks.

Long before Jesus was born the world knew much about what he would do and who he would be. Many of this knowledge came from a prophet named Isaiah. In his book he offers important insights into the magnificence of Jesus. These sermons expound Jesus in Isaiah and declare him to be, Immanuel.

The people who have dwelt in darkness have seen a great light. The light of Jesus defeats darkness, delivers His people, and establishes His dominion. We celebrate the first Advent of Jesus... but are you helping others to be ready for the second Advent of Jesus?
