Name for God in the Book of Daniel
POPULARITY
Daniel 6-10 What makes a Christian stand out in a secular pluralist culture? Not necessarily by the behaviours we demonstrate, though they may well be different. The fundamental difference is seen at the foundational level: we act differently because we have encountered a Lord who is so life changing that we see everything differently. That's what we learn from the book of Daniel: living holy lives is empowered by a distinct faith in a faithful God, a distinct love from a relational God and a distinct hope in a redeeming God.

Featured Teacher: Daniel Christensen What is God actually like? In this study of Psalm 111, Pastor Daniel Christensen walks through all 13 divine perfections packed into this acrostic psalm — God's greatness, glory, righteousness, compassion, and covenant faithfulness. Along the way: why the Psalter uses acrostics as memory devices, why chattel slavery proves objective morality requires God, and why true wisdom only comes from fearing the Lord. A rich, exegetical look at the doctrine of God from one of Scripture's most theologically dense hymns of praise. #ReformedTheology #ExpositoryPreaching #BibleTeaching #Psalms #SystematicTheology #Christotelic

Daniel 7 records one of the most dramatic visions in Scripture. In it, the prophet Daniel sees the Ancient of Days seated on a heavenly throne while “one like the Son of Man” approaches Him and receives an everlasting kingdom. This passage raises an important theological question: Does this vision reveal two distinct divine persons, or is it portraying something else?In this episode of Apostolic Life in the 21st Century, Dr. David K. Bernard examines Daniel 7:9-28 and addresses a common challenge raised against Oneness theology. He explores the identities of the Ancient of Days and the Son of Man and discusses whether Daniel's vision teaches the preexistence of the Son as a separate divine person. Along the way, Dr. Bernard considers what Daniel's prophecy reveals about the Messiah, the Incarnation, and the relationship between Jesus Christ and the Father.Whether you are studying the Godhead, exploring the differences between Trinitarian and Oneness theology, or seeking a deeper understanding of one of Scripture's most fascinating prophetic visions, this episode offers a thoughtful examination of a frequently debated passage.Apostolic Life in the 21st Century with Dr. David K. Against the Grain (Daniel 7:9-11) - Pastor Brett Barton
In this bible study we explore a prophetic vision that Daniel had which revealed a mystery. While Daniel sis not dully understand it, we get the benefit of understanding it looking backward. We see a picture of God that also helps us understand the mystery of our own soul. Daniel 7:9-12 – Ancient of Days and the Kingdom
Pastor Mike Hovland Daniel 7:9-14
The vision in Daniel 7 reveals that despite the chaos, violence, and rise of oppressive earthly kingdoms symbolized by terrifying beasts, God remains sovereign and unshaken on His eternal throne. The Ancient of Days, representing the holy, eternal, and righteous God, judges with perfect justice, as seen in the destruction of the defiant fourth beast and the neutralization of all other kingdoms, which are stripped of power but allowed to exist for a season. In contrast, the Son of Man—Jesus Christ—enters heaven not at the end of history, but after His ascension, where He is presented before the Ancient of Days and granted an everlasting dominion, glory, and kingdom that will never be destroyed. This vision calls the church to shift its focus from worldly turmoil to the reality of Christ's present reign, urging believers to live with eternal perspective by actively serving Him through evangelism, discipleship, and faithful witness, knowing that His ultimate purpose is the redemption of all peoples, nations, and languages.

Jesus's birth was not a coming into being of a new person, but a coming into the world of an infinitely old person.

In this third episode of Promised & Fulfilled: Christmas through the Eyes of Prophecy, hosts Greg and Nathan turn their attention to a small town with an enormous promise. “From Ancient Days: The Ruler from Bethlehem” explores Micah 5:2 and its stunning claim that Israel's long-awaited ruler would come from humble Bethlehem—yet have origins stretching back to eternity. Set against the looming threat of Assyrian invasion, Micah's prophecy reignited hope by pointing to a future king in the line of David. Greg and Nathan unpack why Bethlehem mattered so deeply in Israel's story, how first-century Jews understood this promise, and why Matthew highlights the prophecy when recounting the Magi's visit and Herod's fear. This episode connects the geography of Jesus' birth with the theology of His identity, showing how the One born in David's city is also the eternal ruler “from ancient days.” Along the way, the conversation explores Jesus' lineage, messianic expectations, and what Micah 5 reveals about Christ's divine nature. Join Greg and Nathan as they trace the promise from prophecy to fulfillment—and discover how the Christmas story declares that the eternal King entered history in the most unexpected place.

After the opening stories of Daniel, we come now to the more challenging chapters, which deal with Daniel's apocalyptic visions. What they mean and how they apply have been the subjects of intense debate for centuries, but they teach us many basic lessons nevertheless. Lift Up Your Heads, Your Redemption Is NearLuke 21:5-38The Village Chapel - 08/24/2025The Olivet Discourse in Luke's gospel (and its synoptic counterparts) is one of the most debated texts in the history of biblical scholarship….. We cannot know with certainty what Jesus himself did not choose to fully reveal — the timing of his return. But Jesus gave his disciples reasons to be encouraged amidst warnings of earthly catastrophe, divine wrath, and the persecution that would come with following him. This encouragement is worth applying to our own discipleship as we await our Lord's promised return. To find more resources like these, follow us:Website: https://thevillagechapel.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCQVTzDbaiXVUAm_mUBDCTJAInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/tvcnashville/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/tvcnashvilleX: https://twitter.com/tvcnashvilleTo support the ongoing mission of The Village Chapel go to https://thevillagechapel.com/give/.
