RESURRECTION| SALVATION| JUSTIFICATION| ALL GRACE SUMMIT| DAY 4| CHIMDI OHAHUNA In this episode, you will experience the transformative power of God's grace. Grace is a tangible character of God on our inside. Romans 6:23a. The tangible manifestation of sin is death and the tangible manifestation of grace is salvation. Discover the powerful understanding of the relationship between sin, grace, and God's character in this teaching. The Book of Romans 6:23a says, 'For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.' This verse highlights that Grace is not merely an abstract concept, but a tangible gift from God. Grace is a manifestation of God's love and mercy, offered freely to us despite our sinfulness. This grace resides within us, transforming our hearts and minds, leading us towards a life of holiness and salvation. The study emphasizes that sin is both a nature and a choice. Mankind inherits a nature of sin due to the fall of Adam in the Garden of Eden, yet we also choose to act on sin. This duality highlights the struggle between our human nature and God's grace. The tangible consequence of sin is death, not just physical death but also spiritual death that is, separation from God. Grace also expresses as God continually 'sticking His nose' in Man's business. This is so because, Man is God's business from the beginning. This situation beautifully captures God's unwavering love and concern for mankind. This persistent grace, this ongoing engagement in our lives, is a testament to God's desire to redeem and restore mankind back to what He intended in the beginning. Jesus' death and resurrection offer the ultimate victory over sin, death, and the devil. Jesus destroyed both the host of sin (Satan) and the nature of sin. The death of Jesus dealt a decisive blow to Satan's dominion and broke the chains of sin that bound mankind (John 3:16). His resurrection then became the foundation for our justification and the guarantee of our eternal life. The Abundance of Grace destroyed sin, death, and the devil through the death of Christ. This highlights the power and sufficiency of God's grace. Through Christ's sacrifice, an overflow of grace was released, effectively overcoming the power of sin, death, and the devil. The abundance of grace is not a mere concept but a tangible reality that transforms our lives. The persistent nature of God's grace, coupled with the ultimate victory secured by Christ's sacrifice, offers hope and redemption to all who receive it. Join us as we embrace this grace and be empowered to live lives of holiness and purpose, free of the fear of death and living with the consciousness that you are God's business. The Poco a Poco Podcast with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal
Our first guest! Our long time arch nemesis, Michelle Benzinger from the Abiding Together Podcast, joins Fr. Innocent and Fr. Mark-Mary to talk about tangible grace for tangible trials, seeking first the Kingdom of God lest you go about your day spiritually hangry, and praying when there's no time to pray. Also, we learn about Fr. Innocent's cheap shot on Fr. Mark-Mary and his failed tinkerbell charade. (N.B. by "arch nemesis" we mean dear friend, source of inspiration, mentor, and much loved.)
A short weekly podcast that focuses on different Bible verses and passages that offer encouragement and hope! This week we look at 1 Peter 2:20b-25. The theme for this month is that God is always with us, no matter what we are facing.
This episode tells a little about my time in jail and the crazy way that I was finally released. Then I began to try to put my life back in order, but there were still struggles and challenges that I faced. Thankfully God continued to help me through!
We take a break from my story and read some emails from friends who were with me during that time. Hearing how they felt and what they experienced is eye-opening and I am forever grateful for all of their support and love despite my actions during that time. God surrounds you with people who will love you for YOU. Those people will always be there - praying, loving, caring. If you need help today, turn to someone you love and trust. They will only want the best for you and will help you with whatever you need. If only I had realized that back then! Thanks to my good friend Bernie for helping me with this episode!
I hit rock bottom. Helpless, terrified and confused. This would be the darkest part of my life to this point. But it was also a turning point. An opportunity to rekindle my relationship with God and to ask for His forgiveness. It was a slow road, distractions were everywhere, but I knew I had to make a change. God continued to surround me with His presence, and I started to realize that. How amazing is our God?!
I make the biggest mistake of my life. Addiciton overwhelms me and I am no longer able to function as a responsible adult. I am blind to God's love and grace. I believe I know what I doing is good and fun. It's all about ME. No one else matters. Relationships are ruined. I'm almost at rock bottom. Through it all, God is still there. Often, He is carrying me. I have no idea until much later when I look back and I realize He is the ONLY reason I made it through.
This episode explains how my downward spiral began. Several poor decisions led to some of the biggest mistakes of my life. Thank goodness God was still there, despite my complete rebellion against Him. No matter what you do, God will always be there and is just waiting for you to turn back to Him and get back on track!
