If God refuses to act “for our sake,” does that mean he refuses to do us good? Pastor John resolves a perplexity and holds forth lavish grace from Ezekiel 36.
In this week's POSC podcast, Pastor Putnam brings a tender but urgent message on a theme woven through all of Scripture: the grace of God—how sweet it is. Drawing from Ephesians 2, Pastor Putnam reminds us that we were dead in our trespasses, unable to save ourselves, yet God—rich in mercy and overflowing with love—made us alive through Christ. Grace isn't God ignoring our sin; it's God overcoming our sin. It's not weakness or permission—it's power. Power to rise. Power to return. Power to become who God already declared we can be. Through the stories of Jonah, Hosea and Gomer, the prodigal son, Peter, and even Noah, Pastor Putnam paints a vivid picture of a God who doesn't give up on His people. A God who chases, restores, and runs toward the broken long before they ever take a step toward Him. A God who meets us in storms, in pigpens, in fish bellies, in our denials, in our wandering—and calls us by name. But this message isn't just about grace given—it's about grace responded to. Grace opens a door, but we must walk through it. Grace creates a space—a space to repent, to forgive, to come home, to obey—but that space won't stay open forever. Just as in the days of Noah, salvation is found in responding while the door is open. If you've ever felt too far gone, too messed up, too inconsistent, too wounded, or too ashamed—this episode is a reminder that you are still within the reach of God's grace. Your failure isn't final. Your story isn't over. And the Father is running toward you. Today is your moment. Step into the space of grace. God's grace represents the unmerited love and favor that He freely gives us out of His great mercy. This grace appeared in human form when Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, continued through His ministry of preaching and miracles, and was fully revealed at the cross where He gave His life for humanity's sins. Through His death and resurrection, Jesus proved His victory over sin and death.Grace brings salvation to all people through three key actions: Jesus redeems us by paying the price for our sin with His blood, purifies us by washing away our guilt and shame, and possesses us by adopting us into God's family as His children. This salvation should produce gratitude that motivates us to do good works, not to earn salvation but as a response to what Christ has accomplished.Beyond salvation, grace transforms how we live by training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions while embracing self-controlled, upright, and godly living. This transformation cannot be achieved through human effort alone - we must rely on God's grace to empower and enable us to live differently. Finally, grace will glorify us when Jesus returns to establish a new heaven and earth where believers will live in absolute perfection for eternity.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”II Timothy 4:7 NKJVMay it be said of us, at the end of our lives, that we, too, fought the good fight, finished the race, and kept the faith.
2 Peter series message 9Text: II Peter 2:10b-16In the previous message, we saw that false prophets and teachers will be judged. Now Peter goes into detail about how these false teachers operate - while acting like a brother or sister in Christ within the local church. We have to be aware that there are wolves in sheep's clothing. Perhaps the greater danger is wandering from the truth of God's word and slowly becoming desensitized to the lies and even embracing them over time.
Greg Morse | The unspoken grace in the parable of the prodigal son is that the Father receives a lost son with joy because he sent another Son to bring him home.

As he drew his first epistle to a close, the apostle Peter turned his focus to the elders of the churches to which he wrote, urging them to lead their people with godliness. Elders and pastors are shepherds over God's flock, Alistair Begg reminds us—ones who should lead by example, cultivating humility, entrusting God with their anxieties, preparing to face adversity, and resting in the security of God's grace. Bible passages: 1 Peter 5:1-14
